ന്യായാധിപന്മാർ 3
1 കനാനിലെ യുദ്ധങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് അനുഭവമില്ലാത്ത ഇസ്രായേലിനെ ഒക്കെയും പരീക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന് യഹോവ ശേഷിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്ന ജനതകൾ ഇവരായിരുന്നു.
These nowe are the nations which the Lord left, that he might proue Israel by them (euen as many of Israel as had not knowen all the warres of Canaan,
2 യുദ്ധം അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്ത ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ തലമുറകളെ യുദ്ധം അഭ്യസിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന് യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം ചെയ്തു.
Only to make the generations of the children of Israel to know, and to teach them warre, which doutles their predecessors knew not)
3 മോശമുഖാന്തരം യഹോവ അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്കു നൽകിയിരുന്ന കൽപ്പനകൾ ഇസ്രായേൽ അനുസരിക്കുമോ എന്നു പരീക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്, ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ അഞ്ചുഭരണാധിപന്മാരെയും കനാന്യർ എല്ലാവരെയും സീദോന്യരെയും ലെബാനോൻ പർവതത്തിൽ ബാൽ-ഹെർമോൻമുതൽ ലെബോ-ഹമാത്തിലേക്കുള്ള പ്രവേശനംവരെ പാർത്തിരുന്ന ഹിവ്യരെയും യഹോവ അവശേഷിപ്പിച്ചു.
Fiue princes of the Philistims, and all the Canaanites, and the Sidonians, and the Hiuites that dwelt in mount Lebanon, from mount Baal-hermon vntill one come to Hamath.
And these remayned to proue Israel by them, to wit, whether they would obey the commandements of the Lord, which he commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.
5 കനാന്യർ, ഹിത്യർ, അമോര്യർ, പെരിസ്യർ, ഹിവ്യർ, യെബൂസ്യർ എന്നിവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഇസ്രായേൽജനം വസിച്ചു.
And the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hiuites, and the Iebusites,
6 അവരുടെ പുത്രിമാരെ തങ്ങൾക്കു ഭാര്യമാരായി എടുക്കുകയും തങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രിമാരെ അവരുടെ പുത്രന്മാർക്കു കൊടുക്കുകയും അവരുടെ ദേവന്മാരെ സേവിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
And they tooke their daughters to bee their wiues, and gaue their daughters to their sonnes, and serued their gods.
7 ഇസ്രായേൽജനം യഹോവയുടെമുമ്പാകെ ഹീനകരമായ പ്രവൃത്തികൾചെയ്തു. തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ മറന്നു ബാൽവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠകളെയും സേവിച്ചു.
So the children of Israel did wickedly in the sight of the Lord, and forgate the Lord their God, and serued Baalim, and Asheroth.
8 യഹോവയുടെ കോപം ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെനേരേ ജ്വലിച്ചു; അവിടന്ന് അവരെ അരാം-നെഹറയിമിലെ രാജാവായ കൂശൻ-രിശാഥയീമിനെ ഏൽപ്പിച്ചു; ഇസ്രായേൽജനം കൂശൻ-രിശാഥയീമിന് എട്ട് വർഷം അടിമകളായിരുന്നു.
Therefore the wrath of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he solde them into the hand of Chushan rishathaim King of Aram-naharaim, and the children of Israel serued Chushan rishathaim eyght yeeres.
9 എന്നാൽ ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു. അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ, കാലേബിന്റെ അനുജനായ കെനസിന്റെ മകൻ ഒത്നിയേലിനെ അവരുടെ രക്ഷകനായി എഴുന്നേൽപ്പിച്ചു; അദ്ദേഹം അവരെ രക്ഷിച്ചു.
And when the children of Israel cryed vnto the Lord, the Lord stirred vp a sauiour to ye children of Israel, and he saued them, euen Othniel the sonne of Kenaz, Calebs yonger brother.
10 യഹോവയുടെ ആത്മാവ് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെമേൽ വന്നു; അദ്ദേഹം ഇസ്രായേലിലെ ന്യായാധിപനായി, യുദ്ധത്തിനു പുറപ്പെട്ടു. യഹോവ അരാമിയയിലെ രാജാവായ കൂശൻ-രിശാഥയീമിനെ ഒത്നിയേലിന്റെ കൈയിൽ ഏൽപ്പിച്ചു; അദ്ദേഹം കൂശൻ-രിശാഥയീമിനെ ജയിച്ചു.
And the spirite of the Lord came vpon him, and he iudged Israel, and went out to warre: and the Lord deliuered Chushan rishathaim king of Aram into his hand, and his hand preuailed against Chushan rishathaim.
11 കെനസിന്റെ മകനായ ഒത്നിയേലിന്റെ മരണംവരെ ദേശത്തിന് നാൽപ്പതുവർഷം സ്വസ്ഥതയുണ്ടായി.
So the lande had rest fourtie yeeres, and Othniel the sonne of Kenaz dyed.
12 ഇസ്രായേൽജനം വീണ്ടും യഹോവയുടെമുമ്പാകെ ഹീനകരമായ പ്രവൃത്തികൾചെയ്തു; അവർ യഹോവയ്ക്ക് അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളത് ചെയ്യുകയാൽ യഹോവ മോവാബ് രാജാവായ എഗ്ലോനെ ഇസ്രായേലിനു വിരോധമായി ബലപ്പെടുത്തി.
Then the children of Israel againe committed wickednesse in the sight of the Lord: and the Lord strengthened Eglon King of Moab against Israel, because they had committed wickednesse before the Lord.
13 അദ്ദേഹം അമ്മോന്യരെയും അമാലേക്യരെയും ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂട്ടി ഇസ്രായേലിനെ തോൽപ്പിച്ചു, അവർ ഈന്തപ്പനപ്പട്ടണം കൈവശമാക്കി.
And he gathered vnto him the children of Ammon, and Amalek, and went and smote Israel, and they possessed the citie of palme trees.
14 അങ്ങനെ ഇസ്രായേൽജനം മോവാബ് രാജാവായ എഗ്ലോനെ പതിനെട്ടുവർഷം സേവിച്ചു.
So the children of Israel serued Eglon king of Moab eighteene yeeres.
15 ഇസ്രായേൽജനം യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു. യഹോവ അവർക്ക് ബെന്യാമീന്യനായ ഗേരയുടെ മകനായി ഇടങ്കൈയ്യനായ ഏഹൂദിനെ രക്ഷകനായി എഴുന്നേൽപ്പിച്ചു. ഇസ്രായേൽജനം അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പക്കൽ മോവാബ് രാജാവായ എഗ്ലോന് കപ്പംകൊടുത്തയച്ചു.
But when the children of Israel cried vnto the Lord, the Lord stirred them vp a sauiour, Ehud the sonne of Gera the sonne of Iemini, a man lame of his right hande: and the children of Israel sent a present by him vnto Eglon King of Moab.
16 എന്നാൽ ഏഹൂദ് ഇരുവായ്ത്തലയും ഒരുമുഴം നീളവും ഉള്ള ഒരു ചുരിക ഉണ്ടാക്കി; അത് വസ്ത്രത്തിന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ വലതുതുടയിൽ കെട്ടി.
And Ehud made him a dagger with two edges of a cubite length, and he did gird it vnder his rayment vpon his right thigh,
17 അദ്ദേഹം മോവാബ് രാജാവായ എഗ്ലോന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കപ്പംകൊണ്ടുചെന്നു; എഗ്ലോൻ വളരെയധികം തടിച്ചുകൊഴുത്ത ശരീരമുള്ളവനായിരുന്നു.
And he presented ye gift vnto Eglon King of Moab (and Eglon was a very fat man)
18 ഏഹൂദ് കപ്പം രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ സമർപ്പിച്ചുകഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം കപ്പം ചുമന്നുകൊണ്ടുവന്നവരെ മടക്കി അയച്ചു.
And when he had now presented the present, he sent away the people that bare ye present,
19 എന്നാൽ ഏഹൂദ് ഗിൽഗാലിനരികെയുള്ള ശിലാവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നപ്പോൾ, താൻതന്നെ മടങ്ങിവന്ന്, “രാജാവേ, എനിക്കൊരു രഹസ്യസന്ദേശമുണ്ട്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോൾ രാജാവ് അംഗരക്ഷകരോട്, “പുറത്തേക്കു പോകുക!” എന്നു കൽപ്പിച്ചു; ഉടനെ അടുക്കൽ നിന്നിരുന്ന എല്ലാവരും വെളിയിൽപോയി.
But he turned againe from the quarris, that were by Gilgal, and said, I haue a secret errand vnto thee, O King. Who said, Keepe silence: and all that stoode about him, went out from him.
20 ഏഹൂദ് അടുത്തുചെന്നു. എന്നാൽ എഗ്ലോൻ തന്റെ കൊട്ടാരത്തിൽ മുകളിലത്തെ നിലയിൽ തനിയേ ഇരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. “എനിക്കു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാട് അറിയിക്കാനുണ്ട്,” എന്ന് ഏഹൂദ് പറഞ്ഞു. ഉടനെ അദ്ദേഹം ഇരിപ്പിടത്തിൽനിന്ന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു.
Then Ehud came vnto him. (and he sate alone in a sommer parler, which he had) and Ehud said, I haue a message vnto thee from God. Then he arose out of his throne,
21 ഏഹൂദ് ഇടങ്കൈകൊണ്ട് വലതുതുടയിൽനിന്നു ചുരിക ഊരി രാജാവിന്റെ വയറ്റിൽ കുത്തിക്കടത്തി.
And Ehud put forth his left hand, and tooke the dagger from his right thigh, and thrust it into his bellie,
22 ചുരികയോടുകൂടെ പിടിയും അകത്തുചെന്നു; അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ വയറ്റിൽനിന്നും ചുരിക അവൻ വലിച്ചെടുക്കായ്കയാൽ കൊഴുപ്പ് അതിനെ മൂടി.
So that the hafte went in after the blade, and the fatte closed about the blade, so that he could not drawe the dagger out of his bellie, but the dirt came out.
23 ഏഹൂദ് പുറത്തിറങ്ങി അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അകത്തിട്ട് കൊട്ടാരത്തിന്റെ മുകളിലത്തെ നിലയുടെ വാതിൽ അടച്ചുപൂട്ടി.
Then Ehud gate him out into the porch, and shut the doores of the parler vpon him, and locked them.
24 ഏഹൂദ് പുറത്തിറങ്ങിപ്പോയശേഷം എഗ്ലോന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ വന്നു; മുകളിലത്തെ നിലയുടെ വാതിൽ പൂട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നതുകണ്ടു. “അദ്ദേഹം ഉൾമുറിയിൽ വിസർജനത്തിന് ഇരിക്കുകയായിരിക്കും,” എന്ന് അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.
And when he was gone out, his seruantes came: who seeing that the doores of the parler were locked, they sayd, Surely he doeth his easement in his sommer chamber.
25 അവർ കാത്തിരുന്നു വിഷമിച്ചു; അദ്ദേഹം മുറിയുടെ വാതിൽ തുറക്കാതിരുന്നതിനാൽ അവർ താക്കോൽകൊണ്ടു തുറന്നു; തങ്ങളുടെ പ്രഭു നിലത്തു മരിച്ചുകിടക്കുന്നത് അവർ കണ്ടു.
And they taryed till they were ashamed: and seeing he opened not the doores of the parler, they tooke the key, and opened them, and behold, their lord was fallen dead on the earth.
26 എന്നാൽ അവർ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നതിനിടയിൽ ഏഹൂദ് ഓടിപ്പോയി വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെക്കടന്ന് സെയീരായിൽ എത്തിച്ചേർന്നു.
So Ehud escaped (while they taried) and was passed the quarris, and escaped vnto Seirah.
27 അവിടെ എത്തിയശേഷം അദ്ദേഹം എഫ്രയീംപർവതത്തിൽ കാഹളം ഊതി. അങ്ങനെ ഇസ്രായേൽജനം അദ്ദേഹത്തോടുകൂടെ പർവതത്തിൽനിന്നിറങ്ങി; അദ്ദേഹം അവർക്കു നായകനായി.
And when he came home, he blew a trumpet in mount Ephraim, and the children of Israel went downe with him from the mountaine, and he went before them.
28 “എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരിക; ശത്രുക്കളായ മോവാബ്യരെ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ കൈയിൽ ഏൽപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു,” എന്ന് ഏഹൂദ് ഇസ്രായേൽജനത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞു; അവർ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പിന്നാലെചെന്ന് മോവാബിലേക്കുള്ള യോർദാന്റെ കടവുകൾ കൈവശമാക്കി. അതിലൂടെ കടന്നുപോകാൻ ആരെയും അനുവദിച്ചതുമില്ല.
Then said he vnto them, Follow me: for the Lord hath deliuered your enemies, euen Moab into your hand. So they went downe after him, and tooke the passages of Iorden towarde Moab, and suffred not a man to passe ouer.
29 അവർ ആ സമയം മോവാബ്യരിൽ ഏകദേശം പതിനായിരംപേരെ വെട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു; അവർ എല്ലാവരും ബലവാന്മാരും യുദ്ധവീരന്മാരും ആയിരുന്നു; ആരും രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടില്ല.
And they slewe of the Moabites the same time about ten thousand men, all fed men, and all were warriours, and there escaped not a man.
30 അങ്ങനെ അന്ന് മോവാബ് ഇസ്രായേലിന് കീഴടങ്ങി; ദേശത്തിന് എൺപതുവർഷം സ്വസ്ഥതയുണ്ടായി.
So Moab was subdued that daye, vnder the hand of Israel: and the land had rest fourescore yeeres.
31 ഏഹൂദിനുശേഷം അനാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ ശംഗർ എഴുന്നേറ്റു. അദ്ദേഹം ഒരു കലപ്പകൊണ്ട് ഫെലിസ്ത്യരിൽ അറുനൂറുപേരെ കൊന്നു; അദ്ദേഹവും ഇസ്രായേലിനെ രക്ഷിച്ചു.
And after him was Shamgar the sonne of Anath, which slewe of the Philistims sixe hundreth men with an oxe goade, and he also deliuered Israel.
