യോഹന്നാൻ 8
1 യേശുവോ, ഒലിവുമലയിലേക്കു യാത്രയായി. അതിരാവിലെ യേശു വീണ്ടും ദൈവാലയാങ്കണത്തിൽ എത്തി.
But Jesus went to the mount of Olives;
2 ജനങ്ങൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ചുറ്റും വന്നുകൂടി. അവിടന്ന് അവരെ ഉപദേശിക്കാനായി ഇരുന്നു.
and returned early in the morning into the temple, and all the people came to Him: and He sat down, and taught them.
3 വ്യഭിചാരത്തിൽ പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ട ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെ വേദജ്ഞരും പരീശന്മാരും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. അവർ അവളെ ജനമധ്യത്തിൽ നിർത്തിയിട്ട്
And the scribes and pharisees brought to Him a woman taken in adultery;
4 യേശുവിനോട് ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു: “ഗുരോ, ഈ സ്ത്രീ വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
and setting her in the midst, they said to Him, "This woman was caught in the very act, committing adultery.
5 ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള സ്ത്രീകളെ കല്ലെറിയണമെന്നു മോശ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ ഞങ്ങളോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. അങ്ങ് എന്തുപറയുന്നു?”
Now Moses in the law has commanded us that such women should be stoned, but what sayest Thou?"
6 അദ്ദേഹത്തെ കുറ്റം ചുമത്തേണ്ടതിന് എന്തെങ്കിലും തക്ക കാരണം കിട്ടുന്നതിന് അവർ പ്രയോഗിച്ച ഒരു കെണിയായിരുന്നു ഈ ചോദ്യം. എന്നാൽ യേശു കുനിഞ്ഞ് വിരൽകൊണ്ടു നിലത്ത് എഴുതിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
This they said to tempt Him, that they might have something to accuse Him of. But Jesus stooping down, wrote with his finger upon the ground.
7 ചോദ്യം തുടർന്നപ്പോൾ യേശു നിവർന്ന് അവരോട്, “നിങ്ങളിൽ പാപം ഇല്ലാത്തവൻ ഇവളെ ആദ്യം കല്ലെറിയട്ടെ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And as they continued asking Him, He raised himself up and said unto them, "Let him that is without sin among you, first cast a stone at her."
8 അദ്ദേഹം വീണ്ടും കുനിഞ്ഞു മണ്ണിലെഴുതിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
Then He stooped down again and wrote on the ground.
9 അവർ അതു കേട്ടിട്ട്, കുറ്റബോധത്താൽ ഏറ്റവും മുതിർന്നവർമുതൽ ഇളയവർവരെ ഓരോരുത്തരായി സ്ഥലംവിട്ടുപോയി. ഒടുവിൽ യേശുവും ജനമധ്യത്തിൽനിന്നിരുന്ന സ്ത്രീയും ശേഷിച്ചു.
But when they heard his answer, being convicted by their own conscience, they went out one by one, beginning at the elder, even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst of the people.
10 യേശു നിവർന്ന് അവളോട്, “സ്ത്രീയേ, അവർ എവിടെ? ആരും നിനക്കു ശിക്ഷ വിധിച്ചില്ലേ?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
Then Jesus rising up, and seeing none but the woman, said unto her, Where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11 “ഇല്ല പ്രഭോ,” അവൾ മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു. അതിന് യേശു, “ഞാനും നിനക്കു ശിക്ഷ വിധിക്കുന്നില്ല; പോകുക, ഇനി പാപംചെയ്യരുത്.” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And she said, None, Lord. Then said Jesus unto her, Neither do I condemn thee, Go thy way and sin no more.
12 യേശു വീണ്ടും ജനങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിച്ചു: “ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു ലോകത്തിന്റെ പ്രകാശം. എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കുന്നവർ ഒരിക്കലും ഇരുളിൽ നടക്കുന്നില്ല; അവർ ജീവന്റെ പ്രകാശമുള്ളവരാകും.”
Then spake Jesus again to them, saying, I am the light of the world; he, that followeth me, shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
13 പരീശന്മാർ അദ്ദേഹത്തോട്, “താങ്കൾ താങ്കളെക്കുറിച്ചുതന്നെ സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നു, അത് സത്യമല്ല” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
The pharisees therefore said to Him, Thou bearest witness of thyself; thy testimony is not true.
14 മറുപടിയായി യേശു ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു: “ഞാൻ എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചുതന്നെ സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നെങ്കിലും എന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യം സത്യമാണ്. കാരണം, ഞാൻ എവിടെനിന്നു വന്നു എന്നും എവിടേക്കു പോകുന്നു എന്നും എനിക്കറിയാം. എന്നാൽ, ഞാൻ എവിടെനിന്നു വരുന്നെന്നോ എവിടേക്കു പോകുന്നെന്നോ നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നില്ല.
Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear witness of myself, my testimony is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I am going; but ye know not whence I come, nor whither I go.
15 നിങ്ങൾ മനുഷ്യന്റെ മാനദണ്ഡമനുസരിച്ച് വിധിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ ആരെയും വിധിക്കുന്നില്ല.
Ye judge according to the flesh, but I judge no man as yet:
16 ഞാൻ വിധിക്കുന്നെങ്കിലോ, ഞാൻ ഏകനായല്ല, എന്നെ അയച്ച പിതാവിനോടുചേർന്ന് ആകയാൽ എന്റെ വിധി സത്യമാകുന്നു.
though if I should judge, my judgement is true; for I am not alone, but I am with the Father that sent me.
17 രണ്ടുപേരുടെ സാക്ഷ്യം സത്യമെന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.
And it is written in your own law, that the testimony of two persons is valid.
18 ഞാൻ എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചുതന്നെ സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നു; എന്നെ അയച്ച പിതാവും എന്നെപ്പറ്റി സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നു.”
Now I am one, who bear witness of myself; and the Father, who sent me, beareth witness of me.
19 “താങ്കളുടെ പിതാവ് എവിടെ?” അവർ ചോദിച്ചു. യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. “നിങ്ങൾക്ക് എന്നെയോ എന്റെ പിതാവിനെയോ അറിഞ്ഞുകൂടാ. നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ എന്റെ പിതാവിനെയും അറിയുമായിരുന്നു.”
Then said they unto Him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye would have known my Father also.
20 ദൈവാലയാങ്കണത്തിലെ ഭണ്ഡാരസ്ഥലത്തുവെച്ച് ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോഴാണ് യേശു ഈ വാക്കുകൾ പറഞ്ഞത്. എങ്കിലും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സമയം വന്നിട്ടില്ലായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് ആരും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ബന്ധിച്ചില്ല.
These words spake Jesus in the treasury, when He was teaching in the temple: and no one laid hands on Him, for his hour was not yet come.
21 യേശു വീണ്ടും അവരോട് ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു: “ഞാൻ പോകുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കും. നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങളിൽ നിങ്ങൾ മരിക്കും. ഞാൻ പോകുന്നേടത്തു നിങ്ങൾക്കു വന്നെത്താൻ സാധ്യവുമല്ല.”
Jesus therefore said unto them again, "I am going away, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sin: where I go ye cannot come."
22 അതിന് യെഹൂദനേതാക്കന്മാർ ചോദിച്ചു, “ഇയാൾ ആത്മഹത്യചെയ്യുമോ? അതുകൊണ്ടായിരിക്കുമോ ‘ഞാൻ പോകുന്നേടത്തു നിങ്ങൾക്കു വരാൻ കഴിയുകയില്ല,’ എന്നിയാൾ പറയുന്നത്?”
The Jews therefore said, What! will He kill himself; that He says, where I am going, ye cannot come?
23 യേശു ഇങ്ങനെ തുടർന്നു, “നിങ്ങൾ താഴെനിന്നുള്ളവരാണ്; ഞാൻ ഉയരത്തിൽനിന്നുള്ളവനും. നിങ്ങൾ ഇഹലോകത്തിനുള്ളവരാണ്, ഞാനോ ഐഹികനല്ല.
And He said unto them, Ye are from beneath, I am from above: ye are of this world, I am not of this world.
24 നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങളിൽ നിങ്ങൾ മരിക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ; ഞാൻ ഉന്നതങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് വന്ന ‘ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു’ എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ, നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങളിൽ മരിക്കും.”
Therefore I said unto you, that ye shall die in your sins; for if ye believe not that I am the Messiah, ye shall die in your sins.
25 “താങ്കൾ ആരാണ്?” അവർ ചോദിച്ചു. യേശു മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു: “ഞാൻ എന്നെപ്പറ്റി ആദ്യംമുതലേ പറഞ്ഞുപോരുന്നതുതന്നെ.
Then said they to Him, Who art thou? And Jesus answered them, Even the same that I told you at first.
26 എനിക്കു നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു പല കാര്യങ്ങൾ പറയാനും ന്യായംവിധിക്കാനുമുണ്ട്. എന്നെ അയച്ചവൻ സത്യവാൻ ആകുന്നു. അവിടന്ന് എന്നോടു സംസാരിച്ച കാര്യങ്ങൾ ഞാൻ ലോകത്തെ അറിയിക്കുന്നു.”
I have many things to say and to judge concerning you: but I only say, He that sent me is true, and I declare to the world those things, which I have heard from Him.
27 അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ പിതാവിനെക്കുറിച്ചാണു സംസാരിച്ചതെന്ന് അവർ ഗ്രഹിച്ചില്ല.
But they did not know that He spake unto them of the Father.
28 അതുകൊണ്ട് യേശു പറഞ്ഞു: “നിങ്ങൾ മനുഷ്യപുത്രനെ ഉയർത്തിക്കഴിയുമ്പോൾ ‘ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു’ എന്നത് ആരെന്നും ഞാൻ സ്വയമായി ഒന്നും ചെയ്യാതെ എന്റെ പിതാവ് ഉപദേശിച്ചുതന്നതുമാത്രം സംസാരിക്കുന്നെന്നും നിങ്ങൾ അറിയും.
Jesus therefore said unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then ye shall know that I am He, and that I do nothing of myself, but as my Father hath instructed me, I speak these things.
29 എന്നെ അയച്ചവൻ എന്റെ കൂടെയുണ്ട്. അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ ഏകനായി വിട്ടിട്ടില്ല; ഞാൻ എപ്പോഴും അവിടത്തേക്ക് പ്രസാദമുള്ളതു പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു.”
And He that sent me, is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.
30 യേശു ഈ സംസാരിച്ചതു കേട്ടപ്പോൾ പലരും അദ്ദേഹത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചു.
As He spake these words many believed on Him.
31 തന്നിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ച യെഹൂദരോട് യേശു പറഞ്ഞു: “എന്റെ വചനത്തിൽ നിലനിന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ വാസ്തവത്തിൽ എന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരായിരിക്കും.
Therefore said Jesus to the Jews that believed on Him, If ye continue in my word, ye are indeed my disciples.
32 അപ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ സത്യം അറിയുകയും സത്യം നിങ്ങളെ സ്വതന്ത്രരാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.”
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
33 അവർ അദ്ദേഹത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞു: “ഞങ്ങൾ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ സന്തതികളാണ്, ഞങ്ങൾ ഒരിക്കലും ആരുടെയും അടിമകളായിരുന്നിട്ടില്ല. പിന്നെ, ഞങ്ങളെ സ്വതന്ത്രരാക്കുമെന്നു താങ്കൾ പറയുന്നതെങ്ങനെ?”
They answered Him, We are the seed of Abraham, and never were slaves to any one, how then dost thou say, Ye shall be made free?
34 അതിനു മറുപടിയായി യേശു ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു: “ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോട് സത്യം സത്യമായി പറയട്ടെ: പാപംചെയ്യുന്നവരെല്ലാം പാപത്തിന്റെ അടിമകളാണ്.
Jesus answered them, Verily, verily I say unto you, whosoever maketh a practice of sin, is the servant of sin.
Now the servant does not continue always in the family: but the Son abideth always. (aiōn g165)
36 അതുകൊണ്ട് പുത്രൻ സ്വതന്ത്രരാക്കിയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ യഥാർഥത്തിൽ സ്വതന്ത്രരാകും.
If therefore the Son make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
37 നിങ്ങൾ അബ്രാഹാംവംശജരെന്ന് എനിക്കറിയാം. എന്നിട്ടും നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ കൊല്ലാൻ ഭാവിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ വചനത്തിനു നിങ്ങളിൽ സ്ഥാനമില്ലല്ലോ.
I know that ye are the seed of Abraham, but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.
38 പിതാവിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ ഞാൻ കണ്ടിട്ടുള്ള കാര്യങ്ങളാണ് നിങ്ങളോടു പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നത്; നിങ്ങളോ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിൽനിന്നു കേട്ടിട്ടുള്ളതു ചെയ്യുന്നു.”
I speak that which I have seen with my Father, and ye do what ye have seen with your father.
39 “അബ്രാഹാമാണ് ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവ്,” അവർ പറഞ്ഞു. യേശു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞത്: “നിങ്ങൾ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ മക്കളായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ, അബ്രാഹാം ചെയ്ത കാര്യങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യുമായിരുന്നു.
They answered Him, Abraham is our father, Jesus replied, If ye were the children of Abraham, ye would do the works of Abraham:
40 എന്നാൽ, ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്ന് കേട്ട സത്യം നിങ്ങളെ അറിയിച്ച മനുഷ്യനായ എന്നെ വധിക്കാൻ നിങ്ങൾ ഭാവിക്കുന്നു. അബ്രാഹാം അത്തരം കാര്യങ്ങൾ ചെയ്തില്ലല്ലോ!
but now ye seek to kill me, who have told you the truth which I have heard from God: Abraham did not thus.
41 നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾതന്നെ നിങ്ങളും ചെയ്യുന്നു.” “ഞങ്ങൾ ജാരസന്തതികളല്ല,” അവർ പ്രതിഷേധിച്ചു. “ഞങ്ങൾക്കൊരു പിതാവേയുള്ളൂ; ദൈവംതന്നെ.”
But ye do the works of your father. Then said they unto Him, We are not born of fornication, we have one Father, even God.
42 യേശു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞത്: “ദൈവം നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുമായിരുന്നു, ഞാൻ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽനിന്ന് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. ഞാൻ സ്വയമേവ വന്നതല്ല; അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ അയച്ചതാണ്.
Jesus said unto them, If God were your father, ye would love me: for I came forth, and do come, from God; neither came I of myself, but He sent me.
43 എന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ നിങ്ങൾ മനസ്സിലാക്കാത്തത് എന്തുകൊണ്ടാണ്? ഞാൻ പറയുന്നതു ഗ്രഹിക്കാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു കഴിവില്ലാത്തതുകൊണ്ടാണ്.
And why do ye not understand my language, but because ye cannot bear my doctrine?
44 നിങ്ങൾ പിശാചെന്ന പിതാവിന്റെ മക്കളാണ്. അവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം നിറവേറ്റാനാണ് നിങ്ങൾ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നത്. അവൻ ആരംഭംമുതലേ കൊലപാതകിയായിരുന്നു. അവനിൽ സത്യം ഇല്ലാത്തതുകൊണ്ട് അവൻ സത്യത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗത്തു നിൽക്കുന്നില്ല. വ്യാജം പറയുമ്പോൾ അവൻ സ്വന്തം ഭാഷ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു. അവൻ വ്യാജം പറയുന്നവനും അതിന്റെ അപ്പനും ആകുന്നു.
Ye are of your father the devil, and are bent upon doing the lusts of your father: he was a murderer from the beginning, and continued not in the truth: for there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh like himself, for he is a liar, and the father of such.
45 ഞാൻ സത്യം പറയുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ല.
And because I say the truth, ye believe me not. Which of you convicteth me of sin?
46 എന്നിൽ പാപമുണ്ടെന്നു തെളിയിക്കാൻ നിങ്ങളിൽ ആർക്കെങ്കിലും കഴിയുമോ? ഞാൻ സത്യമാണു പറയുന്നതെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ വിശ്വസിക്കാത്തത് എന്ത്?
And if I speak truth, why do ye not believe me?
47 ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നുള്ളവർ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കുന്നു. നിങ്ങൾ ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നുള്ളവർ അല്ലാത്തതുകൊണ്ടാണ് അവിടത്തെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കാത്തത്.”
He, that is of God, receiveth the words of God; but ye therefore receive them not, because ye are not of God.
48 യെഹൂദനേതാക്കന്മാർ പറഞ്ഞു: “താങ്കൾ ഒരു ശമര്യാക്കാരനെന്നും ഭൂതം ബാധിച്ചവനെന്നും ഞങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നതു ശരിയല്ലേ?”
The Jews therefore answered and said unto Him. Do we not rightly say, that thou art a Samaritan, and art possessed by a demon?
49 യേശു പറഞ്ഞു: “എന്നെ ഭൂതം ബാധിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. ഞാൻ എന്റെ പിതാവിനെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നു. നിങ്ങളാകട്ടെ, എന്നെ അപമാനിക്കുന്നു.
Jesus answered I am not possessed by a demon, but I honour my Father, though ye dishonour me.
50 ഞാൻ സ്വന്തം ബഹുമാനം ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ല; എന്നാൽ അത് അന്വേഷിക്കുന്ന ഒരാളുണ്ട്; വിധികർത്താവായ എന്റെ പിതാവുതന്നെ.
And I seek not my own glory; there is One that seeketh it, and judgeth.
51 സത്യം സത്യമായി ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയട്ടെ: എന്റെ വചനം പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവർ ഒരുനാളും മരണം കാണുകയില്ല.” (aiōn g165)
Verily, verily, I say unto you, If any one keep my word, he shall never see death. (aiōn g165)
52 ഇതു കേട്ട് യെഹൂദർ പറഞ്ഞു: “താങ്കൾ ഭൂതബാധിതനെന്ന് ഇപ്പോൾ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു മനസ്സിലായി. അബ്രാഹാം മരിച്ചു, പ്രവാചകന്മാരും മരിച്ചു. എന്നിട്ടും താങ്കളുടെ വചനം പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവർ ഒരുനാളും മരിക്കുകയില്ലെന്ന് താങ്കൾ പറയുന്നു! (aiōn g165)
The Jews therefore said unto Him, Now we are sure that thou art possessed by a demon. Abraham is dead, and the prophets too; and thou sayest, If any one keep my word, he shall never taste of death: art thou greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? (aiōn g165)
53 ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവായ അബ്രാഹാമിനെക്കാൾ താങ്കൾ വലിയവനോ? അദ്ദേഹം മരിച്ചു, പ്രവാചകന്മാരും മരിച്ചു. താങ്കൾ ആരെന്നാണ് താങ്കളുടെ വിചാരം?”
and the prophets are dead: whom dost thou pretend to be?
54 അതിന് യേശു ഇങ്ങനെ മറുപടി നൽകി: “ഞാൻ എന്നെത്തന്നെ മഹത്ത്വപ്പെടുത്തിയാൽ ആ മഹത്ത്വം നിരർഥകമാണ്. നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമെന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അവകാശപ്പെടുന്ന എന്റെ പിതാവാണ് എന്നെ മഹത്ത്വപ്പെടുത്തുന്നത്.
Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honor is nothing: it is my Father that glorifieth me, of whom ye say that He is your God.
55 നിങ്ങൾ അവിടത്തെ അറിയുന്നില്ലെങ്കിലും ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു. ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാൽ ഞാനും നിങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ അസത്യവാദിയാകും; എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ അവിടത്തെ അറിയുകയും അവിടത്തെ വചനം പ്രമാണിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
And yet ye know him not; but I know Him: and if I should say, That I know Him not, I shall be like you, a liar: but I know Him, and obey his word.

Your father Abraham longed to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
57 യെഹൂദർ പറഞ്ഞു, “താങ്കൾക്ക് അൻപതു വയസ്സുപോലും ആയിട്ടില്ല, എന്നിട്ടും അബ്രാഹാമിനെ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നോ?”
Then said the Jews unto Him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
58 യേശു പറഞ്ഞു: “ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോട് സത്യം സത്യമായി പറയട്ടെ: അബ്രാഹാം ജനിക്കുന്നതിനുമുമ്പേ, ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു.”
Jesus said unto them, Before Abraham was, I am.
59 ഇതു കേട്ടപ്പോൾ അവർ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ എറിയാൻ കല്ലെടുത്തു. എന്നാൽ യേശു ദൈവാലയംവിട്ടു മാറിപ്പോയി.
Therefore they took up stones to throw at Him. But Jesus concealed Himself, and went out of the temple, through the midst of them, and so passed on.
