യോഹന്നാൻ 7
1 ഇതുകഴിഞ്ഞ്, യേശു ഗലീലയിൽ എല്ലായിടത്തും സഞ്ചരിച്ചു; യെഹൂദനേതാക്കന്മാർ തന്നെ വധിക്കാൻ അന്വേഷിച്ചതുകൊണ്ട് അവിടന്ന് ബോധപൂർവം യെഹൂദ്യയിൽക്കൂടി സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നത് ഒഴിവാക്കി.
After these things, Yeshua [Salvation] was walking in Galilee [District, Circuit], for he would not walk in Judea [Praise], because the Jews [Praisers] sought to kill him.
2 എന്നാൽ യെഹൂദരുടെ കൂടാരപ്പെരുന്നാൾ സമീപിച്ചപ്പോൾ,
Now the festival of Sukkot ·Tabernacles·, the Festival of Booths, was at hand. (The seventh month Ethanim ·Ever-flowing durable stream (in Hebrew), 7· or Tishrei ·[Beginning (in Babylonian)]· 15th day).
3 യേശുവിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാർ അദ്ദേഹത്തോട്, “താങ്കൾ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന അത്ഭുതങ്ങൾ യെഹൂദ്യയിലുള്ള അങ്ങയുടെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ കാണേണ്ടതിന് ഇവിടെനിന്ന് യെഹൂദ്യയിലേക്കു പോകുക.
His brothers therefore said to him, “Depart from here, and go into Judea [Praise], that your disciples also may see your works which you do.
4 പൊതുജനസമ്മതി ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന ആരും രഹസ്യമായി ഒന്നും പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നില്ലല്ലോ. ഈ കാര്യങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് താങ്കൾ ലോകത്തിനു സ്വയം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊടുക്കണം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
For no one does anything in secret, and himself seeks to be known openly. If you do these things, reveal yourself to the world.”
5 സ്വന്തം സഹോദരന്മാർപോലും അദ്ദേഹത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല.
For even his brothers didn’t trust in him.
6 യേശു അവരോട്, “എന്റെ സമയം ഇതുവരെ വന്നിട്ടില്ല. നിങ്ങൾക്കോ, എപ്പോഴും സമയംതന്നെ.
Yeshua [Salvation] therefore said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready.
7 ലോകത്തിനു നിങ്ങളെ വെറുക്കാൻ കഴിയുകയില്ല; എന്നാൽ, ലോകം ചെയ്യുന്നതു ദോഷമുള്ളതെന്നു ഞാൻ സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് ലോകം എന്നെ വെറുക്കുന്നു.
The world can’t hate you, but it hates me, because I testify about it, that its works are evil.
8 നിങ്ങൾ പെരുന്നാളിനു പൊയ്ക്കൊള്ളൂ, എന്റെ സമയം ആയിട്ടില്ലാത്തതിനാൽ പെരുന്നാളിനു ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ പോകുന്നില്ല”
You go up to the feast. I am not yet going up to this feast, because my time is not yet fulfilled.”
9 ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ട് യേശു ഗലീലയിൽത്തന്നെ താമസിച്ചു.
Having said these things to them, he stayed in Galilee [District, Circuit].
10 എങ്കിലും, തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാർ പെരുന്നാളിനു പോയിക്കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ യേശുവും പരസ്യമായല്ല, രഹസ്യമായിട്ടു പോയി.
But when his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he also went up, not publicly, but as it were in secret.
11 പെരുന്നാളിൽ യെഹൂദനേതാക്കന്മാർ, “ആ മനുഷ്യൻ എവിടെ?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അന്വേഷിച്ചു.
The Jews [Praisers] therefore sought him at the feast, and said, “Where is he?”
12 ജനസമൂഹത്തിൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു വലിയതോതിൽ രഹസ്യചർച്ചകൾ നടന്നുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു: “അദ്ദേഹം നല്ലവൻ” എന്നു ചിലർ പറഞ്ഞു. “അല്ല, അയാൾ ജനക്കൂട്ടത്തെ കബളിപ്പിക്കുകയാണ്” എന്നു മറ്റുചിലരും പറഞ്ഞു.
There was much murmuring among the multitudes concerning him. Some said, “He is a good man.” Others said, “Not so, but he leads the multitude astray.”
13 എന്നാൽ, യെഹൂദനേതാക്കന്മാരെ ഭയന്നതിനാൽ ആരും അദ്ദേഹത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് പരസ്യമായി ഒന്നും പറഞ്ഞില്ല.
Yet no one spoke openly of him for fear of the Jews [Praisers].
14 പെരുന്നാൾ പകുതി കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ യേശു ദൈവാലയത്തിലെത്തി; അങ്കണത്തിലിരുന്ന് ഉപദേശിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി.
But when it was now the middle of the feast, Yeshua [Salvation] went up into the temple and taught.
15 യെഹൂദനേതാക്കന്മാർ ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ട്, “വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം ചെയ്യാത്ത ഈ മനുഷ്യന് ഇത്രയും അറിവു ലഭിച്ചത് എങ്ങനെ?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
The Jews [Praisers] therefore marveled, saying, “How does this man know so much, without having studied?”
16 യേശു അതിനു മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു: “എന്റെ ഉപദേശം എന്റെ സ്വന്തമല്ല; എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റേതാണ്.
Yeshua [Salvation] therefore answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.
17 ഒരാൾ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം ചെയ്യാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ, അയാൾ എന്റെ ഉപദേശം ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നുള്ളതോ ഞാൻ സ്വയമായി പറയുന്നതോ എന്നു മനസ്സിലാക്കും.
If anyone desires to do his will, he will know about the teaching, whether it is from God, or if I am speaking from myself.
18 സ്വന്തം നിലയിൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്നവൻ ബഹുമതിനേടാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു. എന്നാൽ, തന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ മഹത്ത്വത്തിനായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവൻ സത്യസന്ധൻ; അവനിൽ കാപട്യമില്ല.
He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory, but he who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and no sinfulness ·legal injustice that misses the mark and is without share in the goal· is in him.
19 മോശ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ന്യായപ്രമാണം തന്നില്ലയോ? എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങളിൽ ആരും അതനുസരിക്കുന്നില്ല. നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ കൊല്ലാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നതെന്തിന്?”
Didn’t Moses [Drawn out] give you the Torah ·Teaching·? Yet none of you keeps Torah ·Teaching·! Why do you seek to kill me?”
20 “നിന്നെ ഭൂതം ബാധിച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണ്,” ജനക്കൂട്ടം മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു, “ആരാണു നിന്നെ കൊല്ലാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നത്?”
The multitude answered, “You have a demon! Who seeks to kill you?”
21 യേശു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു: “ഞാൻ ഒരു അത്ഭുതപ്രവൃത്തിചെയ്തു; നിങ്ങളെല്ലാവരും അതിൽ ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു.
Yeshua [Salvation] answered them, “I did one work, and you all marvel because of it.
22 മോശ നിങ്ങൾക്കു പരിച്ഛേദനം ഏർപ്പെടുത്തി. എന്നാൽ, അതു മോശയിൽനിന്നല്ല, പിതാക്കന്മാരിൽനിന്നാണ് ഉണ്ടായത്.
Moses [Drawn out] has given you circumcision (not that it is of Moses [Drawn out], but of the Patriarchs), and on the Sabbath ·To cease· you circumcise a boy.
23 നിങ്ങൾ ശബ്ബത്തുനാളിൽ പരിച്ഛേദനം നടത്തുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് മോശയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം ലംഘിക്കപ്പെടുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ, ശബ്ബത്തുനാളിൽ ഒരു മനുഷ്യനു പരിപൂർണമായ സൗഖ്യം നൽകിയതിനു നിങ്ങൾ എന്നോടു കോപിക്കുന്നതെന്തിന്?
If a boy receives circumcision on the Sabbath ·To cease·, that the Torah ·Teaching· of Moses [Drawn out] may not be broken, are you angry with me, because I made a man completely healthy on the Sabbath ·To cease·?
24 ബാഹ്യമായി കാണുന്നതനുസരിച്ച് വിധിക്കാതെ നീതിപൂർവം വിധി നിർണയിക്കുക.”
Don’t judge according to appearance, but judge upright judgment.”
25 അപ്പോൾ, ജെറുശലേമിൽനിന്നുള്ള ചിലർ പറഞ്ഞു: “ഈ മനുഷ്യനെയാണല്ലോ അവർ കൊല്ലാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നത്?
Therefore some of them of Jerusalem [City of peace] said, “Is not this he whom they seek to kill?
26 ഇതാ, ഇദ്ദേഹം പരസ്യമായി സംസാരിക്കുന്നു, അവർ ഒരു വാക്കുപോലും ഇദ്ദേഹത്തോടു പറയുന്നുമില്ല! യഥാർഥമായി ഇത് ക്രിസ്തുതന്നെയാണെന്ന് അധികാരികൾ ധരിച്ചുവോ?
Behold, he speaks openly, and they say nothing to him. Can it be that the rulers indeed know that this is truly the Messiah [Anointed one]?
27 ഇദ്ദേഹം എവിടെനിന്നു വന്നുവെന്ന് നാം അറിയുന്നു. ക്രിസ്തു വരുമ്പോഴോ, അദ്ദേഹം എവിടെനിന്നെന്ന് ആരും അറിയുകയുമില്ല.”
However we know where this man comes from, but when the Messiah [Anointed one] comes, no one will know where he comes from.”
28 ഇതിനു പ്രതികരണമായി, ദൈവാലയാങ്കണത്തിൽ ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന യേശു ഇങ്ങനെ ശബ്ദമുയർത്തിപ്പറഞ്ഞു: “അതേ, നിങ്ങൾക്ക് എന്നെ അറിയാം. ഞാൻ എവിടെനിന്നു വരുന്നെന്നും അറിയാം. ഞാൻ സ്വന്തം അധികാരത്താൽ വന്നതല്ല; എന്നെ അയച്ചവൻ സത്യസന്ധൻ ആകുന്നു; അവിടത്തെ നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നില്ല.
Yeshua [Salvation] therefore cried out in the temple, teaching and saying, “You both know me, and know where I am from. I have not come of myself, but he who sent me is true, whom you don’t know.
29 എന്നാൽ, ഞാൻ എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ അടുക്കൽനിന്നു വരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടും അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടും ഞാൻ അവിടത്തെ അറിയുന്നു.”
I know him, because I am from him, and he sent me.”
30 അപ്പോൾ അവർ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ബന്ധിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചു. എന്നാൽ, തന്റെ സമയം വന്നിട്ടില്ലായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെമേൽ കൈവെക്കാൻ ആർക്കും സാധിച്ചില്ല.
They sought therefore to take him; but no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come.
31 ജനക്കൂട്ടത്തിൽ പലരും അദ്ദേഹത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചു. “ക്രിസ്തു വരുമ്പോൾ, ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ ചെയ്യുന്നതിലും അധികം അത്ഭുതചിഹ്നങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യുമോ?” എന്ന് അവർ ചോദിച്ചു.
But of the multitude, many trusted in him. They said, “When the Messiah [Anointed one] comes, he won’t do more signs than those which this man has done, will he?”
32 യേശുവിനെപ്പറ്റി ജനക്കൂട്ടം ഇങ്ങനെ രഹസ്യമായി സംസാരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പരീശന്മാർ കേട്ടു. അപ്പോൾ പുരോഹിതമുഖ്യന്മാരും പരീശന്മാരും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ബന്ധിക്കാൻ ദൈവാലയത്തിലെ കാവൽഭടന്മാരെ നിയോഗിച്ചു.
The Pharisees [Separated] heard the multitude murmuring these things concerning him, and the chief priests and the Pharisees [Separated] sent officers to arrest him.
33 യേശു പറഞ്ഞു: “ഞാൻ ഇനി അൽപ്പകാലംമാത്രമേ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുകയുള്ളൂ, പിന്നീട് എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ അടുത്തേക്കു പോകും.
Then Yeshua [Salvation] said, “I will be with you a little while longer, then I go to him who sent me.
34 നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കും, എന്നാൽ കണ്ടെത്തുകയില്ല, ഞാൻ ആയിരിക്കുന്നേടത്ത് നിങ്ങൾക്കു വന്നെത്താൻ സാധ്യവുമല്ല.”
You will seek me, and won’t find me; and where I am, you can’t come.”
35 യെഹൂദനേതാക്കന്മാർ പരസ്പരം പറഞ്ഞു: “നമുക്കു കണ്ടെത്താൻ സാധിക്കാത്തവിധം എവിടേക്കാണ് ഇദ്ദേഹം പോകാനുദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നത്? ഗ്രീക്കുകാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ നമ്മുടെ ആളുകൾ ചിതറിപ്പാർക്കുന്നിടത്തു ചെന്ന് ഗ്രീക്കുകാരെ ഉപദേശിക്കുമെന്നോ?
The Jews [Praisers] therefore said among themselves, “Where will this man go that we won’t find him? Will he go to the Dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?
36 ‘നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കും, എന്നാൽ കണ്ടെത്തുകയില്ല’ എന്നും ‘ഞാൻ ആയിരിക്കുന്നേടത്ത് നിങ്ങൾക്കു വന്നെത്താൻ സാധ്യവുമല്ല’ എന്നും പറയുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് അദ്ദേഹം എന്താണ് അർഥമാക്കുന്നത്?”
What is this word that he said, ‘You will seek me, and won’t find me; and where I am, you can’t come’?”
37 ഉത്സവത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാനദിനമായ ഒടുവിലത്തെ ദിവസം യേശു നിന്നുകൊണ്ട് ഇപ്രകാരം വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു: “ദാഹിക്കുന്ന ഏതൊരാളും എന്റെ അടുക്കൽവന്നു കുടിക്കട്ടെ.
Now on the last day of the festival (of Tabernacles, the seventh day called Hoshana Rabbah ·Save now Great·, the seventh month Ethanim ·Ever-flowing durable stream (in Hebrew), 7· or Tishrei ·[Beginning (in Babylonian)]· 21st day)), Yeshua [Salvation] stood and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink!
38 എന്നിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവരുടെ ഉള്ളിൽനിന്ന്, തിരുവെഴുത്തിൽ പറയുന്നതുപോലെ, ജീവജലത്തിന്റെ നദികൾ ഒഴുകും.”
Whoever puts his trust in me, as the Scripture says, rivers of living water will flow from his inmost being!”
39 തന്നിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവർക്കു പിന്നീടു ലഭിക്കാനിരിക്കുന്ന ആത്മാവിനെപ്പറ്റിയാണ് യേശു ഇവിടെ സംസാരിച്ചത്. യേശു തേജസ്കരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടില്ലായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് അതുവരെയും ആത്മാവ് വന്നിരുന്നില്ല.
But he said this about the Ruach ·Spirit, Breath·, which those trusting in him were to receive. For the Holy Ruach ·Spirit, Breath· was not yet given, because Yeshua [Salvation] was not yet glorified.
40 അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഈ വാക്കുകൾ കേട്ടിട്ട് ജനങ്ങളിൽ ചിലർ, “തീർച്ചയായും ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ ആ പ്രവാചകൻതന്നെ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Many of the multitude therefore, when they heard these words, said, “This is truly the prophet.”
41 “ഇദ്ദേഹം ക്രിസ്തു ആകുന്നു,” എന്നു മറ്റുചിലർ പറഞ്ഞു. എന്നാൽ വേറെ ചിലരാകട്ടെ, “ക്രിസ്തു ഗലീലയിൽനിന്നോ വരുന്നത്?
Others said, “This is the Messiah [Anointed one].” But some said, “What, does the Messiah [Anointed one] come out of Galilee [District, Circuit]?
42 ദാവീദിന്റെ വംശത്തിൽനിന്നും, ദാവീദിന്റെ പട്ടണമായ ബേത്ലഹേമിൽനിന്നും ക്രിസ്തു വരുമെന്നല്ലേ തിരുവെഴുത്തു പറയുന്നത്?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
Has not the Scripture said that the Messiah [Anointed one] comes of the offspring of David [Beloved], and from Bethlehem [House of Bread], the village where David [Beloved] lived?”
43 അങ്ങനെ യേശുവിനെച്ചൊല്ലി ജനങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ അഭിപ്രായഭിന്നതയുണ്ടായി.
So there arose a division in the multitude because of him.
44 ചിലർ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ബന്ധിക്കാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു. എന്നാൽ ആരും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെമേൽ കൈവെച്ചില്ല.
Some of them would have arrested him, but no one laid hands on him.
45 ഒടുവിൽ കാവൽഭടന്മാർ പുരോഹിതമുഖ്യന്മാരുടെയും പരീശന്മാരുടെയും അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നപ്പോൾ “നിങ്ങൾ അയാളെ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവരാതിരുന്നതെന്ത്?” എന്ന് അവർ അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചു.
The officers therefore came to the chief priests and Pharisees [Separated], and they said to them, “Why didn’t you bring him?”
46 “ആ മനുഷ്യൻ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ആരും ഒരുനാളും സംസാരിച്ചിട്ടില്ല,” എന്നു ഭടന്മാർ ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.
The officers answered, “No man ever spoke like this man!”
47 “അയാൾ നിങ്ങളെയും കബളിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നോ?” പരീശന്മാർ തിരിച്ചു ചോദിച്ചു.
The Pharisees [Separated] therefore answered them, “You are not also led astray, are you?
48 “ഭരണാധികാരികളിലോ പരീശന്മാരിലോ ആരെങ്കിലും അയാളിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ?
Have any of the rulers trusted in him, or of the Pharisees [Separated]?
49 ഇല്ല! എന്നാൽ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അറിയാത്ത ഈ ജനക്കൂട്ടം ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരാണ്.”
True, these 'am-ha'aretz ·people of the land· do, but they know nothing about the Torah ·Teaching·, they are under a curse!”
50 നേരത്തേ യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നിരുന്നയാളും അവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലുൾപ്പെട്ടയാളുമായ നിക്കോദേമൊസ്,
Nicodemus [Victory people] (he who came to him by night, being one of the Pharisees [Separated]) said to them,
51 “ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്റെ മൊഴികേട്ട് അയാൾ ചെയ്യുന്നതെന്തെന്നു മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നതിനുമുമ്പേ, അയാൾക്കു ശിക്ഷ വിധിക്കാൻ നമ്മുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അനുവദിക്കുന്നുണ്ടോ?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
“Our Torah ·Teaching· does not condemn a man, does it, until after hearing from him personally and finding out what he’s doing?”
52 അവർ അതിനു മറുപടിയായി, “താങ്കളും ഗലീലക്കാരനോ? പരിശോധിച്ചുനോക്കുക; ഗലീലയിൽനിന്ന് ഒരു പ്രവാചകൻ എഴുന്നേൽക്കുന്നില്ലെന്ന് അപ്പോൾ വ്യക്തമാകും.” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
They answered him, “Are you also from Galilee [District, Circuit]? Search, and see that no prophet has arisen out of Galilee [District, Circuit].”
53 പിന്നീട് ഓരോരുത്തരും അവരവരുടെ വീടുകളിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.
Everyone went to his own house.
