യോഹന്നാൻ 2
1 മൂന്നാംദിവസം ഗലീലയിലെ കാനാ എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ ഒരു വിവാഹം നടന്നു. യേശുവിന്റെ അമ്മ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
And, on the third day, a marriage, took place, in Cana, of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there, —
2 യേശുവിനെയും ശിഷ്യന്മാരെയും ആ വിവാഹത്തിനു ക്ഷണിച്ചിരുന്നു.
and Jesus also was invited, with his disciples, unto the marriage.
3 വീഞ്ഞു തികയാതെവന്നപ്പോൾ യേശുവിന്റെ അമ്മ, “അവർക്കു വീഞ്ഞു തീർന്നുപോയി” എന്ന് യേശുവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
And, wine falling short, the mother of Jesus saith unto him—Wine, have they none!
4 അതിന് യേശു, “സ്ത്രീയേ, നമുക്ക് ഇതിലെന്തു കാര്യം? എന്റെ സമയം ഇതുവരെയും വന്നിട്ടില്ല” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.
And Jesus saith unto her—What part can I take with thee, O woman? Not yet, hath come, mine hour.
5 യേശുവിന്റെ അമ്മ വേലക്കാരോട്, “അദ്ദേഹം നിങ്ങളോട് എന്തു കൽപ്പിച്ചാലും അതു ചെയ്യുക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
His mother saith unto them who are ministering—Whatsoever he may say to you, do!
6 അവിടെ യെഹൂദർ, ആചാരപരമായ ശുദ്ധീകരണത്തിനു വെള്ളം നിറയ്ക്കാൻ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നതും നൂറ് ലിറ്ററോളം വെള്ളം കൊള്ളുന്നതുമായ ആറ് കൽഭരണികൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
Now there were there, six stone water-vessels, placed, according to the purification of the Jews; holding each, two or three measures.
7 “ഈ ഭരണികളിൽ വെള്ളം നിറയ്ക്കുക” യേശു വേലക്കാരോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചു; അവർ ഭരണികളുടെ വക്കുവരെ വെള്ളം നിറച്ചു.
Jesus saith unto them—Fill the vessels with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
8 തുടർന്ന് “ഇനി ഇതിൽനിന്ന് കുറച്ചു പകർന്ന് കലവറക്കാരന് കൊടുക്കുക,” എന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം കൽപ്പിച്ചു. അവർ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു.
And he saith unto them—Draw out now, and be bearing unto the master of the feast. And they bare.
9 കലവറക്കാരൻ, വീഞ്ഞായിത്തീർന്ന വെള്ളം രുചിച്ചുനോക്കി. അത് എവിടെനിന്നെന്ന് വേലക്കാർക്ക് അറിയാമായിരുന്നെങ്കിലും കലവറക്കാരന് അറിയില്ലായിരുന്നു. അയാൾ മണവാളനെ അരികിൽ വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു,
And, when the master of the feast had tasted the water, now made, wine, and knew not whence it was, —though, they who were ministering, knew, even they who had drawn out the water, the master accosteth the bridegroom,
10 “എല്ലാവരും അതിഥികൾക്ക് ആദ്യം ഏറ്റവും നല്ലതരം വീഞ്ഞും, പിന്നീട്, അതിഥികൾ ആവശ്യത്തിലേറെ കുടിച്ചുകഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം, സാധാരണതരത്തിലുള്ള വീഞ്ഞും വിളമ്പുന്നു; എന്നാൽ, താങ്കൾ ഏറ്റവും നല്ലത് ഇതുവരെയും സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവെച്ചിരുന്നല്ലോ!”
and saith unto him—Every man, first the good wine, setteth out; and, when they had been well-supplied, the inferior: —Thou, hast kept the good wine until, even now.
11 യേശു ഗലീലയിലെ കാനായിൽവെച്ച് അത്ഭുതചിഹ്നങ്ങളുടെ ആരംഭമായി ഇതു ചെയ്ത് തന്റെ മഹത്ത്വം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തി; അങ്ങനെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അദ്ദേഹത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചു.
This, beginning of his signs, did Jesus, in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
12 ഇതിനുശേഷം യേശു തന്റെ അമ്മയോടും സഹോദരന്മാരോടും ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുംകൂടെ, തടാകതീരത്തുള്ള കഫാർനഹൂം എന്ന പട്ടണത്തിലേക്ക് യാത്രയായി. എന്നാൽ, അവർ അവിടെ അധികനാൾ താമസിച്ചില്ല.
After this, he came down into Capernaum, —he, and his mother and brethren, and his disciples; and, there, they abode, not many days.
13 യെഹൂദരുടെ പെസഹ സമീപിച്ചിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് യേശു ജെറുശലേമിലേക്കു യാത്രയായി.
And, near, was the passover of the Jews; and, Jesus, went up unto Jerusalem.
14 ദൈവാലയാങ്കണത്തിൽ ആടുമാടുകൾ, പ്രാവുകൾ എന്നിവ വിൽക്കുന്നവരെയും നാണയവിനിമയം ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നവരെയും കണ്ടു.
And he found, in the temple, them that were selling oxen and sheep and doves, also the money-changers sitting.
15 അപ്പോൾ യേശു കയറുകൊണ്ട് ഒരു ചാട്ടവാർ ഉണ്ടാക്കി, ആടുമാടുകളുൾപ്പെടെ എല്ലാവരെയും ദൈവാലയാങ്കണത്തിൽനിന്ന് പുറത്താക്കി; നാണയവിനിമയക്കാരുടെ മേശകൾ മറിച്ചിട്ട് നാണയങ്ങൾ ചിതറിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
And, making a scourge out of rushes, all of them, thrust he forth out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and, the money-changers’ small coins, poured he forth, and, the tables, he overturned;
16 പ്രാവുകളെ വിൽക്കുന്നവരോട് പറഞ്ഞു, “ഇവയെ ഇവിടെനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുപോകുക, എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ഭവനത്തെ ഒരു ചന്തസ്ഥലമാക്കരുത്.”
and unto them who were selling, the doves, he said—Take these things hence! Be not making, the house of my Father, a house of merchandise.
17 അപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ, “അങ്ങയുടെ ആലയത്തെപ്പറ്റിയുള്ള തീക്ഷ്ണത എന്നെ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയുന്നു” എന്നു രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്ന തിരുവെഴുത്ത് ഓർത്തു.
His disciples remembered that it was written—The zeal of thy house, eateth me up.
18 യെഹൂദനേതാക്കന്മാർ അദ്ദേഹത്തോട്, “ഇതെല്ലാം ചെയ്യാൻ താങ്കൾക്ക് അധികാരം ഉണ്ടെന്നതിന് ഒരു അത്ഭുതചിഹ്നം കാണിക്കുക.” എന്ന് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു.
The Jews therefore answered, and said unto him, What sign, dost thou point out to us, in that, these things, thou doest?
19 “ഈ മന്ദിരം പൊളിക്കുക; മൂന്നുദിവസത്തിനകം ഞാൻ ഇതു പണിതുയർത്തും,” എന്ന് യേശു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
Jesus answered, and said unto them—Take down this shrine, and, in three days, will I raise it.
20 യെഹൂദനേതാക്കന്മാർ അദ്ദേഹത്തോട് ചോദിച്ചു, “ഈ മന്ദിരം പണിയുന്നതിനു നാൽപ്പത്താറു വർഷം വേണ്ടിവന്നു; താങ്കൾ അതു കേവലം മൂന്നുദിവസംകൊണ്ടു പണിയുമെന്നോ?”
The Jews, therefore, said—In forty and six years, was this shrine built. And, thou, in three days, wilt raise it!
21 എന്നാൽ, യേശു സ്വന്തം ശരീരം എന്ന മന്ദിരത്തെക്കുറിച്ചായിരുന്നു പറഞ്ഞത്.
But, he, was speaking concerning the shrine of his body.
22 യേശു മരിച്ചവരിൽനിന്ന് ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റശേഷം, അവിടന്നു പറഞ്ഞിരുന്ന ഈ കാര്യം ശിഷ്യന്മാർ ഓർത്തു. അങ്ങനെ അവർ തിരുവെഴുത്തും യേശുവിന്റെ വചനവും വിശ്വസിച്ചു.
When, therefore, he had been raised from among the dead, his disciples remembered, that, this, he had been saying; and they believed in the Scripture, and in the word which Jesus had spoken.
23 യേശു പെസഹാപ്പെരുന്നാളിൽ ജെറുശലേമിൽ ആയിരുന്നപ്പോൾ അവിടന്ന് പ്രവർത്തിച്ച ചിഹ്നങ്ങൾ കണ്ട പലരും അവിടത്തെ നാമത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചു.
Now, when he was in Jerusalem, during the passover, during the feast, many, believed on his name, viewing his signs which he was doing.
24 എന്നാൽ, യേശുവിന് മനുഷ്യപ്രകൃതി നന്നായി അറിയാമായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് അവരെ വിശ്വസിച്ചില്ല.
Jesus himself, however, was not trusting himself unto them, by reason of his understanding them all,
25 മനുഷ്യനിലുള്ളത് എന്തെന്നു ഗ്രഹിച്ചിരുന്നതിനാൽ മനുഷ്യനെക്കുറിച്ച് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ആരുടെയും സാക്ഷ്യം ആവശ്യമായിരുന്നില്ല.
and because he had, no need, that anyone should bear witness concerning man; for, he, understood what was in man.
