യോഹന്നാൻ 10
1 “പരീശന്മാരായ നിങ്ങളോട്, ഞാൻ സത്യം സത്യമായി പറയട്ടെ: വാതിലിലൂടെയല്ലാതെ വേറെ വഴിയായി ആട്ടിൻ തൊഴുത്തിൽ കടക്കുന്നവൻ കള്ളനും കൊള്ളക്കാരനും ആകുന്നു.
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who enters not by the gate into the sheepfold, but climbs over the fence, is a thief and a robber.
2 വാതിലിലൂടെ പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നവൻ ആടുകളുടെ ഇടയനാണ്.
The shepherd always enters by the gate.
3 കാവൽക്കാരൻ അയാൾക്ക് വാതിൽ തുറന്നുകൊടുക്കുന്നു. ആടുകൾ അവന്റെ ശബ്ദം കേൾക്കുന്നു. അവൻ സ്വന്തം ആടുകളെ അവയുടെ പേരുവിളിച്ചു പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നു.
To him, the porter opens, and the sheep obey his voice. His own sheep he calls by name, and leads out.
4 അയാളുടെ സ്വന്തം ആടുകളെയെല്ലാം പുറത്തുകൊണ്ടുവന്നശേഷം അയാൾ അവയ്ക്കുമുമ്പേ നടക്കുന്നു. ആടുകൾ അവന്റെ ശബ്ദം തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞ് അവനെ അനുഗമിക്കുന്നു.
And having put out his sheep, he walks before them, and they follow him; because they know his voice.
5 എന്നാൽ, ഒരു അപരിചിതനെ അവ ഒരിക്കലും അനുഗമിക്കുകയില്ല. ശബ്ദം തിരിച്ചറിയാത്തതുകൊണ്ട് അവ അയാളെ വിട്ട് ഓടിപ്പോകും.”
They will not follow a stranger, but flee from him; because they know not the voice of strangers.
6 യേശു ഇത് ആലങ്കാരികമായിട്ടാണു പറഞ്ഞത്; എങ്കിലും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞതിന്റെ അർഥമെന്തെന്ന് അവർ ഗ്രഹിച്ചില്ല.
Jesus addressed this similitude to them, but they did not comprehend what he said.
7 യേശു വീണ്ടും പറഞ്ഞു: “സത്യം സത്യമായി ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയട്ടെ: ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു ആടുകളുടെ വാതിൽ.
He therefore added, Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the gate of the fold.
8 എനിക്കുമുമ്പ് വന്നവരെല്ലാം കള്ളന്മാരും കൊള്ളക്കാരും ആയിരുന്നു; ആടുകൾ അവരെ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുമില്ല.
All who preceded me were thieves and robbers; but the sheep obeyed them not.
9 ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു വാതിൽ. എന്നിലൂടെ പ്രവേശിക്കുന്ന ആടുകൾ സുരക്ഷിതരായിരിക്കും അവ അകത്തുവരികയും പുറത്തുപോകുകയും മേച്ചിൽ കണ്ടെത്തുകയും ചെയ്യും.
I am the gate: such as enter by me shall be safe: they shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10 മോഷ്ടിക്കാനും കൊല്ലാനും നശിപ്പിക്കാനുമാണ് കള്ളൻ വരുന്നത്. എന്നാൽ, ഞാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നത് അവർക്കു ജീവൻ ലഭിക്കാൻ; സമൃദ്ധമായ ജീവൻ ലഭിക്കാനാണ്.
The thief comes in only to steal, to slay, and to destroy. I am come that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
11 “ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു നല്ല ഇടയൻ; നല്ല ഇടയൻ ആടുകൾക്കുവേണ്ടി തന്റെ ജീവൻ അർപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives his life for his sheep.
12 എന്നാൽ, ആടുകളുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥനല്ലാത്ത കൂലിക്കാരൻ, ചെന്നായ് വരുന്നതു കാണുമ്പോൾ ആടുകളെ വിട്ട് ഓടിപ്പോകുന്നു. അപ്പോൾ ചെന്നായ് ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തെ ആക്രമിച്ചു ചിതറിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.
The hireling, who is not the shepherd, and to whom the sheep do not belong, when he sees the wolf coming, abandons the sheep, and flees; and the wolf tears them, and disperses the flock.
13 അയാൾ വെറും കൂലിക്കാരനും ആടുകളെക്കുറിച്ചു കരുതൽ ഇല്ലാത്തവനുമാണല്ലോ.
The hireling flees, because he is a hireling, and cares not for the sheep.
14 “ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു നല്ല ഇടയൻ; പിതാവ് എന്നെയും ഞാൻ പിതാവിനെയും അറിയുന്നതുപോലെ, ഞാൻ എന്റെ ആടുകളെയും എന്റെ ആടുകൾ എന്നെയും അറിയുന്നു. ആടുകൾക്കുവേണ്ടി ഞാൻ എന്റെ ജീവൻ അർപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
I am the good shepherd. And I know my own, and am known by them,
(even as the Father knows me, and I know the Father; ) and I give my life for the sheep.
16 ഈ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടാത്ത വേറെയും ആടുകൾ എനിക്കുണ്ട്. അവയെയും ഞാൻ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു വരേണ്ടതാണ്. അവയും എന്റെ ശബ്ദം കേൾക്കും. അങ്ങനെ ഒരു ആട്ടിൻപറ്റവും ഒരു ഇടയനും ആകും.
I have other sheep, besides, which are not of this fold. Them I must also bring; and they will obey my voice; and there shall be one flock, one shepherd.
17 ഞാൻ ആടുകൾക്കായി എന്റെ ജീവൻ അർപ്പിക്കുകയും അതു തിരികെ എടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതിനാൽ പിതാവ് എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു.
For this the Father loves me, because I give my life, to be afterward resumed.
18 അത് എന്നിൽനിന്ന് ആരും എടുത്തുകളയുന്നില്ല, ഞാൻ അത് സ്വമേധയാ അർപ്പിക്കുകയും തിരിച്ചെടുക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നു. അത് അർപ്പിക്കാനും തിരിച്ചെടുക്കാനും എനിക്ക് അധികാരമുണ്ട്. എന്റെ പിതാവിൽനിന്നാണ് എനിക്ക് ഈ അധികാരം ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.”
No one forces it from me: but I give it of myself. I have power to give it, and I have power to resume it. This commandment I have received from my Father.
19 യേശുവിന്റെ ഈ വാക്കുകൾനിമിത്തം യെഹൂദനേതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ വീണ്ടും ഭിന്നത ഉണ്ടായി.
Again there was a division among the Jews, occasioned by this discourse.
20 അവരിൽ പലരും പറഞ്ഞു: “അയാൾ ഭൂതബാധിതനാണ്, അയാൾക്കു സ്ഥിരബുദ്ധിയില്ല; അയാൾ പറയുന്നത് എന്തിനു കേൾക്കണം?”
Many of them said, He has a demon, and is mad: why do you hear him?
21 എന്നാൽ മറ്റുചിലർ: “ഇത് ഒരു ഭൂതബാധിതന്റെ വാക്കുകളല്ല; അന്ധനു കാഴ്ച നൽകാൻ ഭൂതത്തിനു കഴിയുമോ?” എന്നാണു ചോദിച്ചത്.
Others said, These are not the words of a demonise. Can a demon give sight to the blind?
22 ജെറുശലേമിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠോത്സവത്തിന്റെ സമയമായി. അത് ശീതകാലമായിരുന്നു.
Afterward, when they were celebrating the feast of the dedication, at Jerusalem,
23 യേശു ദൈവാലയാങ്കണത്തിൽ ശലോമോന്റെ മണ്ഡപത്തിൽ നടക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
it being in winter; as Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon's portico,
24 യെഹൂദനേതാക്കന്മാരിൽ ചിലർ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ചുറ്റും വന്നു പറഞ്ഞു, “താങ്കൾ എത്രനാൾ ഞങ്ങളെ സംശയത്തിന്റെ മുനയിൽ നിർത്തും? താങ്കൾ ക്രിസ്തുവാണെങ്കിൽ ഞങ്ങളോടു തുറന്നുപറയുക.”
the Jews surrounding him, said to him, How long will you keep us in suspense? If you be the Messiah, tell us plainly.
25 യേശു മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു: “ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞുകഴിഞ്ഞു. എന്നാൽ, നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ല. എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ ഞാൻ ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തികൾ എനിക്കു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നു.
Jesus answered, I told you; but you believed not. The works which I do in my Father's name, testify of me.
26 എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ ആടുകൾ അല്ലാത്തതുകൊണ്ടു വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ല.
But you believe not, for you are not of my sheep.
27 എന്റെ ആടുകൾ എന്റെ ശബ്ദം കേൾക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ അവയെ അറിയുന്നു; അവ എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നു.
My sheep, as I told you, obey my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
29 അവയെ എനിക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ പിതാവ് പരമോന്നതനാണ്; എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ കൈയിൽനിന്ന് അവയെ അപഹരിക്കാൻ ആർക്കും സാധ്യമല്ല.
My Father, who gave them me, is greater than all; and none can wrest them out of my Father's hand.
30 ഞാനും പിതാവും ഒന്നാകുന്നു.”
I and the Father are one.
31 യെഹൂദനേതാക്കന്മാർ വീണ്ടും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ എറിയാൻ കല്ലെടുത്തു.
Then the Jews again took up stones to stone him.
32 എന്നാൽ, യേശു അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചു: “പിതാവിൽനിന്നുള്ള അനേകം നല്ല പ്രവൃത്തികൾ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ കാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവയിൽ ഏതു നിമിത്തമാണു നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ കല്ലെറിയുന്നത്?”
Jesus said to them, Many good works I have shown you from my Father; for which of these works do you stone me?
33 യെഹൂദനേതാക്കന്മാർ മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു: “സൽപ്രവൃത്തികളൊന്നും നിമിത്തമല്ല, പിന്നെയോ വെറും മനുഷ്യനായ നീ ദൈവമാണെന്നവകാശപ്പെട്ടു ദൈവദൂഷണം പറയുന്നതുകൊണ്ടാണു ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്നെ കല്ലെറിയുന്നത്.”
The Jews answered, For a good work we do not stone you, but for blasphemy; because you, being a man, make yourself God.
34 യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു: “‘നിങ്ങൾ “ദേവന്മാർ” എന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞു’ എന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിട്ടില്ലേ?
Jesus replied, Is it not written in your law, "I said, You are gods?"
35 ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്ന് വചനം ലഭിച്ചവർ ‘ദേവന്മാർ,’ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെട്ടെങ്കിൽ—തിരുവെഴുത്ത് നിരർഥകമാകരുതല്ലോ—
If the law styled them gods, to whom the word of God was addressed, and if the language of scripture in unexceptionable;
36 പിതാവ് സ്വന്തമായി വേർതിരിച്ചു ലോകത്തിലേക്ക് അയച്ചവനെപ്പറ്റി എന്താണു പറയേണ്ടത്? ഞാൻ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പുത്രൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെമേൽ എന്തിനു ദൈവദൂഷണം ആരോപിക്കുന്നു?
do you charge him with blasphemy whom the Father has consecrated his Apostle to the world, for calling himself his Son?
37 ഞാൻ പിതാവിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്നിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതില്ലായിരുന്നു.
If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
38 എന്നാൽ, ഞാൻ അവ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ, നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽപോലും, എന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ വിശ്വസിക്കുക; അങ്ങനെ പിതാവ് എന്നിലും ഞാൻ പിതാവിലും ആകുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കറിയാനും ഗ്രഹിക്കാനും കഴിയും.”
But if I do, though you believe not me, believe the works, that you may know and believe, that the Father is in me, and I am in him.
39 അവർ വീണ്ടും യേശുവിനെ ബന്ധിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചു, എന്നാൽ, അദ്ദേഹം അവരുടെ പിടിയിൽപ്പെടാതെ മാറിപ്പോയി.
They then attempted again to seize him; but he escaped out of their hands,
40 അതിനുശേഷം യേശു യോർദാൻനദിയുടെ അക്കരെ, യോഹന്നാൻസ്നാപകൻ ആദ്യം സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു തിരിച്ചെത്തി അവിടെ താമസിച്ചു.
and retired again toward the Jordan, and abode in the place where John first immersed.
41 ധാരാളംപേർ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽവന്നു, “യോഹന്നാൻ അത്ഭുതചിഹ്നം ഒന്നും ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ലെങ്കിലും ഇദ്ദേഹത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു യോഹന്നാൻ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുള്ളതെല്ലാം സത്യംതന്നെ” എന്ന് അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.
And many resorted to him, who said, John, indeed, wrought no miracle: but all that John spoke of this man, is true.
42 അവിടെയുള്ള പലരും യേശുവിൽ വിശ്വാസമർപ്പിച്ചു.
And many believed on him there.
