ഇയ്യോബ് 5

1 “ഇപ്പോൾത്തന്നെ വിളിച്ചുചോദിക്കുക; പക്ഷേ, ആരാണ് നിനക്ക് ഉത്തരം നൽകുക? വിശുദ്ധരിൽ ആരുടെ മുമ്പിലാണ് നീ ശരണാർഥിയാകുന്നത്?

Give now a cry for help; is there anyone who will give you an answer? and to which of the holy ones will you make your prayer?

2 നീരസം ഭോഷരെ കൊല്ലുന്നു; അസൂയ ബുദ്ധിഹീനരെ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

For wrath is the cause of death to the foolish, and he who has no wisdom comes to his end through passion.

3 ഭോഷർ തഴച്ചുവളരുന്നതു ഞാൻ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്, എന്നാൽ അവരുടെ വാസസ്ഥലം ധൃതഗതിയിൽ ശാപഗ്രസ്തമാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.

I have seen the foolish taking root, but suddenly the curse came on his house.

4 അവരുടെ മക്കൾക്ക് സുരക്ഷിതത്വം അന്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു, അവർക്കുവേണ്ടി വാദിക്കാൻ ആരും ഇല്ലാത്തതിനാൽ കോടതിയിൽവെച്ച് അവർ തകർക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.

Now his children have no safe place, and they are crushed before the judges, for no one takes up their cause.

5 അവരുടെ വിളവ് വിശപ്പുള്ളവർ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളയുന്നു, മുൾച്ചെടിയുടെ ഫലംപോലും അവർ അപഹരിക്കുന്നു, അവരുടെ സമ്പത്തിനായി ദാഹാർത്തർ കിതയ്ക്കുന്നു.

Their produce is taken by him who has no food, and their grain goes to the poor, and he who is in need of water gets it from their spring.

6 കഷ്ടത പൂഴിയിൽനിന്നു മുളച്ചുപൊങ്ങുന്നില്ല, അനർഥം ഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നു നാമ്പെടുക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

For evil does not come out of the dust, or trouble out of the earth;

7 തീപ്പൊരി മുകളിലേക്കു പാറുന്നതുപോലെ മനുഷ്യൻ കഷ്ടതയിലേക്കു പിറന്നുവീഴുന്നു.

But trouble is man's fate from birth, as the flames go up from the fire.

8 “എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ സ്ഥാനത്തായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ, ഞാൻ ദൈവത്തെ അന്വേഷിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; എന്റെ സങ്കടം അവിടത്തെ മുമ്പിൽ സമർപ്പിക്കുമായിരുന്നു.

But as for me, I would make my prayer to God, and I would put my cause before him:

9 അളക്കാൻ സാധിക്കാത്ത വൻകാര്യങ്ങളും അസംഖ്യം അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും അവിടന്ന് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു.

Who does great things outside our knowledge, wonders without number:

10 അവിടന്ന് ഭൂമിയിൽ മഴപെയ്യിക്കുകയും വയലുകളെ ജലധാരയാൽ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

Who gives rain on the earth, and sends water on the fields:

11 അവിടന്ന് എളിയവരെ ഉദ്ധരിക്കുകയും വിലപിക്കുന്നവരെ സുരക്ഷിതസ്ഥാനത്തേക്ക് ഉയർത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

Lifting up those who are low, and putting the sad in a safe place;

12 അവിടന്ന് കൗശലക്കാരുടെ പദ്ധതികൾ തകിടംമറിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ട് അവരുടെ കൈകൾ വിജയം കൈവരിക്കാതെ പോകുന്നു.

Who makes the designs of the wise go wrong, so that they are unable to give effect to their purposes.

13 അവിടന്ന് ജ്ഞാനികളെ അവരുടെ കൗശലങ്ങളിൽ കുടുക്കുന്നു; സൂത്രശാലികളുടെ ആസൂത്രണങ്ങൾ വേഗത്തിൽത്തന്നെ പാളിപ്പോകുന്നു.

He takes the wise in their secret designs, and the purposes of the twisted are cut off suddenly.

14 പകൽസമയത്ത് ഇരുട്ട് അവരെ മൂടുന്നു; മധ്യാഹ്നത്തിൽ രാത്രിയിലെന്നപോലെ അവർ തപ്പിനടക്കുന്നു.

In the daytime it becomes dark for them, and in the sunlight they go feeling about as if it was night.

15 അവിടന്ന് ദരിദ്രരെ സൂത്രശാലികളുടെ മൂർച്ചയേറിയ വാക്കുകളിൽനിന്നും ബലവാന്മാരുടെ കൈയിൽനിന്നും സംരക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

But he keeps safe from their sword those who have no father, and the poor from the power of the strong.

16 അതിനാൽ ദരിദ്രർക്കു പ്രത്യാശയുണ്ട്; അനീതിയോ, അതിന്റെ വായ് പൊത്തുന്നു.

So the poor man has hope, and the mouth of the evil-doer is stopped.

17 “നോക്കൂ, ദൈവം ശാസിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ എത്ര അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ; അതിനാൽ സർവശക്തന്റെ ശിക്ഷണം നീ നിന്ദിക്കരുത്.

Truly, that man is happy who has training from the hand of God: so do not let your heart be shut to the teaching of the Ruler of all.

18 അവിടന്ന് മുറിവേൽപ്പിക്കുകയും അവിടന്നുതന്നെ മുറിവുകെട്ടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; അവിടന്ന് പ്രഹരിക്കുകയും അവിടത്തെ കരം സൗഖ്യം നൽകുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നു.

For after his punishment he gives comfort, and after wounding, his hands make you well.

19 ആറു ദുരന്തങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും അവിടന്ന് നിന്നെ കരകയറ്റും; ഏഴാമത്തേതിൽ ഒരു തിന്മയും നിന്നെ സ്പർശിക്കുകയില്ല.

He will keep you safe from six troubles, and in seven no evil will come near you.

20 ക്ഷാമകാലത്ത് അവിടന്ന് നിന്നെ മരണത്തിൽനിന്നു വിടുവിക്കും, യുദ്ധമുഖത്ത് വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയിൽനിന്നും.

When there is need of food he will keep you from death, and in war from the power of the sword.

21 നാവുകൊണ്ടുള്ള പ്രഹരങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു നീ മറയ്ക്കപ്പെടും വിനാശം വരുമ്പോൾ നീ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടതുമില്ല.

He will keep you safe from the evil tongue; and you will have no fear of wasting when it comes.

22 നാശത്തെയും ക്ഷാമത്തെയും നീ പരിഹസിക്കും; വന്യമൃഗങ്ങളെ നീ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടതുമില്ല.

You will make sport of destruction and need, and will have no fear of the beasts of the earth.

23 നിലത്തെ കല്ലുകളോടുപോലും നിനക്കു സഖ്യമുണ്ടാകും; കാട്ടിലെ മൃഗങ്ങൾ നിന്നോട് ഇണങ്ങിയിരിക്കും.

For you will be in agreement with the stones of the earth, and the beasts of the field will be at peace with you.

24 നിന്റെ കൂടാരം സുരക്ഷിതമെന്നു നീ അറിയും; നീ സമ്പത്ത് പരിശോധിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഒന്നും നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടതായി കാണുകയില്ല.

And you will be certain that your tent is at peace, and after looking over your property you will see that nothing is gone.

25 നിന്റെ മക്കൾ അനേകമെന്നും നിന്റെ സന്തതികൾ ഭൂമിയിലെ പുല്ലുപോലെയെന്നും നീ മനസ്സിലാക്കും.

You will be certain that your seed will be great, and your offspring like the plants of the earth.

26 വിളഞ്ഞ കറ്റകൾ തക്കസമയത്ത് അടുക്കിവെക്കുന്നതുപോലെ പൂർണവാർധക്യത്തിൽ നീ കല്ലറയിലേക്ക് ആനയിക്കപ്പെടും.

You will come to your last resting-place in full strength, as the grain is taken up to the crushing-floor in its time.

27 “ഇവയെല്ലാം ഞങ്ങൾ അന്വേഷിച്ചറിഞ്ഞു, അവ വാസ്തവമാണുതാനും. എന്റെ ഉപദേശം കേൾക്കുക, നിന്റെ നന്മയ്ക്കായി അതു പ്രാവർത്തികമാക്കുക.”

See, we have made search with care, and it is so; it has come to our ears; see that you take note of it for yourself.
