ഇയ്യോബ് 39

1 “കാട്ടാടുകളുടെ പ്രസവകാലം നിനക്കറിയാമോ? മാൻപേടകൾ പ്രസവിക്കുന്നതു നീ നിരീക്ഷിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ?

Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? [or] canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?

2 അവയ്ക്കു ഗർഭം തികയുന്ന മാസം കണക്കുകൂട്ടാൻ നിനക്കു കഴിയുമോ? അവയുടെ പ്രസവകാലം നിനക്ക് അറിയാമോ?

Canst thou number the months [that] they fulfill? or knowest thou the time when they bring forth?

3 അവ മുട്ടുകുത്തി കുനിഞ്ഞു കുട്ടികളെ പ്രസവിക്കുന്നു; അവയുടെ പ്രസവവേദന പെട്ടെന്നു കഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നു.

They bow themselves, they bring forth their young ones, they cast out their sorrows.

4 അവയുടെ സന്തതികൾ ബലപ്പെട്ട് വനാന്തരങ്ങളിൽ വളർന്നുവരുന്നു. അവ പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോകുന്നു; തിരികെ വരുന്നതുമില്ല.

Their young ones are in good liking, they grow up with corn; they go forth, and return not to them.

5 “സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തോടെ കാട്ടുകഴുതയെ പോകാൻ അനുവദിച്ചത് ആരാണ്? അതിന്റെ കെട്ടുകൾ അഴിച്ചുവിട്ടത് ആരാണ്?

Who hath sent out the wild ass free? or who hath loosed the bands of the wild ass?

6 മരുഭൂമിയെ അവയ്ക്കു ഭവനമായും ഓരുനിലങ്ങളെ അവയുടെ പാർപ്പിടമായും ഞാൻ നൽകി.

Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the barren land his dwellings.

7 പട്ടണത്തിലെ ആരവത്തെ അതു പുച്ഛിക്കുന്നു; തെളിക്കുന്നവരുടെ ഒച്ച അതു കേൾക്കുന്നുമില്ല.

He scorneth the multitude of the city, neither regardeth he the crying of the driver.

8 മലനിരകളെ അതു മേച്ചിൽസ്ഥലമാക്കുന്നു, പച്ചയായ എല്ലാറ്റിനെയും അതു തെരഞ്ഞു കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു.

The range of the mountains [is] his pasture, and he searcheth after every green thing.

9 “കാട്ടുകാള നിന്നെ സേവിക്കാൻ മനസ്സുവെക്കുമോ? അതു നിന്റെ പുൽത്തൊട്ടിക്കരികെ രാപാർക്കുമോ?

Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?

10 ഒരു കാട്ടുകാളയെ നിനക്ക് നുകത്തിൽ കയറുകൊണ്ടു ബന്ധിക്കാമോ? അതു നിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വന്ന് വയൽ ഉഴുമോ?

Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?

11 അതു കരുത്തുറ്റതാകുകയാൽ നിനക്ക് അതിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കാൻ കഴിയുമോ? നിന്റെ കഠിനജോലികൾ ചെയ്യാൻ അതിനെ ഏൽപ്പിക്കുമോ?

Wilt thou trust him, because his strength [is] great? or wilt thou leave thy labor to him?

12 അതു നിന്റെ കറ്റകൾ വലിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവന്ന് മെതിക്കളത്തിൽ എത്തിക്കുമെന്നു നിനക്കു വിശ്വസിക്കാൻ കഴിയുമോ?

Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather [it into] thy barn?

13 “ഒട്ടകപ്പക്ഷികൾ അഭിമാനത്തോടെ ചിറകു വീശുന്നു; എന്നാൽ കൊക്കിന്റെയോ ചിറകുകളോടോ തൂവലുകളോടോ അവ താരതമ്യംചെയ്യാൻ കഴിയുകയില്ലല്ലോ?

[Gavest thou] the goodly wings to the peacocks? or wings and feathers to the ostrich!

14 അവൾ നിലത്തു മുട്ടയിടുന്നു അതു മണലിൽ ചൂടേൽക്കാൻ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in the dust,

15 അതു ചവിട്ടേറ്റ് ഉടഞ്ഞുപോകുമെന്നോ കാട്ടുമൃഗം ചവിട്ടിമെതിക്കുമെന്നോ അതു ചിന്തിക്കുന്നില്ല.

And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.

16 അവൾ തന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളോട്, അവ തനിക്കുള്ളവയല്ല എന്ന മട്ടിൽ ക്രൂരമായിപ്പെരുമാറുന്നു; അവളുടെ പ്രസവവേദന വ്യർഥമായിപ്പോകും എന്നതിലും അവൾക്ക് ആകുലതയില്ല.

She is hardened against her young ones, as though [they were] not hers: her labor is in vain without fear;

17 കാരണം ദൈവം അവൾക്കു ജ്ഞാനം നൽകിയില്ല; അഥവാ, വിവേകശക്തിയും അനുവദിച്ചുനൽകിയില്ല.

Because God hath withheld wisdom from her, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.

18 അതു ചിറകുവിരിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ഓടുമ്പോൾ കുതിരയെയും അതിന്മേൽ സവാരിചെയ്യുന്നവനെയും പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു.

When she lifteth herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider.

19 “കുതിരയ്ക്കു ശക്തി നൽകിയത് നീയോ? അതിന്റെ കഴുത്തിൽ നീയോ കുഞ്ചിരോമം അണിയിച്ചത്?

Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder?

20 അതിനെ വെട്ടുക്കിളിയെപ്പോലെ നിനക്കു കുതിച്ചുചാടിക്കാമോ? അതിന്റെ ശക്തിയേറിയ ചീറ്റൽ ഭയാനകംതന്നെ!

Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? the glory of his nostrils [is] terrible.

21 അതു താഴ്വരയിൽ മാന്തുകയും കരുത്തിൽ ഊറ്റംകൊള്ളുകയും സൈന്യനിരയ്ക്കുനേരേ പാഞ്ഞടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in [his] strength: he goeth on to meet the armed men.

22 അതു ഭയത്തെ പുച്ഛിച്ചുതള്ളി കൂസലില്ലാതെ മുന്നേറുന്നു; വാളിൽനിന്ന് അതു പിന്തിരിയുന്നതുമില്ല.

He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from the sword.

23 ആവനാഴിയുടെ കിലുകിലുക്കത്തെയും കുന്തത്തിന്റെയും ശൂലത്തിന്റെയും തിളക്കത്തെയും അത് എതിരിടുന്നു.

The quiver rattleth against him, the glittering spear and the shield.

24 ഉഗ്രരോഷത്തോടും ആവേശത്തോടും അതു ദൂരം പിന്നിടുന്നു; കാഹളശബ്ദം കേട്ടാൽ അത് അടങ്ങിനിൽക്കുകയില്ല.

He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage: neither believeth he that [it is] the sound of the trumpet.

25 കാഹളം മുഴങ്ങുന്തോറും അത്, ‘ആഹാ!’ എന്നു ചിനയ്ക്കുന്നു! വിദൂരതയിൽനിന്ന് അത് യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ ഗന്ധം മണത്തറിയുന്നു, പടനായകരുടെ അട്ടഹാസവും ആർപ്പുവിളിയുംതന്നെ.

He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha; and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.

26 “പരുന്ത് പറന്നുയരുന്നതും ദക്ഷിണദിശയിലേക്കു ചിറകുകൾ വിരിക്കുന്നതും നിന്റെ ജ്ഞാനംനിമിത്തമോ?

Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, [and] stretch her wings towards the south?

27 നിന്റെ ആജ്ഞയനുസരിച്ചോ കഴുകൻ പറന്നുയരുന്നതും ഉയരത്തിൽ കൂടുകെട്ടുന്നതും?

Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high?

28 പാറപ്പിളർപ്പിൽ അതു വസിക്കുകയും അവിടെ രാപാർക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; കിഴുക്കാംതൂക്കായ പാറ അതിന്റെ ശക്തികേന്ദ്രമാകുന്നു.

She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.

29 അവിടെനിന്നും അത് ഇര തേടുന്നു; അതിന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടി വിദൂരതയിൽനിന്ന് ഇര കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു.

From thence she seeketh the prey, [and] her eyes behold afar off.

30 അതിന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങൾ ചോര വലിച്ചുകുടിക്കുന്നു; ശവം എവിടെയുണ്ടോ അവിടെ കഴുകനുമുണ്ട്.”

Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain [are], there [is] she.
