ഇയ്യോബ് 35
1 എലീഹൂ ഇപ്രകാരം തുടർന്നു:
And Elius resumed and said,
2 “‘എന്റെ നീതി ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നീതിയെ കവിയുന്നു,’ എന്നു താങ്കൾ പറയുന്നു, ഇതു ന്യായമെന്നു കരുതുന്നോ?
What is this that thou thinkest to be according to right? who art thou that thou hast said, I am righteous before the Lord?
3 പിന്നെ താങ്കൾ ചോദിക്കുന്നു: ‘അതുകൊണ്ട് എനിക്കെന്തു മെച്ചം? പാപം ചെയ്യാതിരുന്നാൽ എനിക്കെന്തു നേട്ടം?’
I will answer thee, and thy three friends.
4 “അതിന് ഞാൻ താങ്കളോടും താങ്കളോടൊപ്പമുള്ള ഈ സ്നേഹിതന്മാരോടും മറുപടി പറയാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.
Look up to the sky and see; and consider the clouds, how high [they are] above thee.
5 ആകാശത്തേക്കു തലയുയർത്തി കാണുക; നിങ്ങളെക്കാൾ വളരെ മുകളിലുള്ള മേഘപാളികളിലേക്ക് ഇമവെട്ടാതെ നോക്കുക.
If thou hast sinned, what wilt thou do?
6 താങ്കൾ പാപംചെയ്താൽ അത് അത്യുന്നതനെ എങ്ങനെയാണ് ബാധിക്കുന്നത്? താങ്കളുടെ പാപങ്ങൾ അനേകമാണെങ്കിൽ അത് അവിടത്തോട് എന്തുചെയ്യും?
and if too thou hast transgressed much, what canst thou perform?
7 താങ്കൾ നീതിനിഷ്ഠൻ ആയിരിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെ ദൈവത്തിന് എന്തോ ഉപകാരം ചെയ്യുകയാണോ? അവിടത്തേക്ക് താങ്കളുടെ കൈയിൽനിന്ന് എന്തു ലഭിക്കുന്നു?
And suppose thou art righteous, what wilt thou give him? or what shall he receive of thy hand?
8 താങ്കളുടെ ദുഷ്ടത താങ്കളെപ്പോലെ മനുഷ്യർക്കു ദോഷംവരുത്തുന്നു. താങ്കളുടെ നീതികൊണ്ടും ഇതരമനുഷ്യർക്കാണ് പ്രയോജനം.
Thy ungodliness [may affect] a man who is like to thee; or thy righteousness a son of man.
9 “പീഡനത്തിന്റെ ബാഹുല്യംനിമിത്തം ജനം നിലവിളിക്കുന്നു; ശക്തരുടെ കരങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു മോചിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതിനായി അവർ മുറവിളി കൂട്ടുന്നു.
They that are oppressed of a multitude will be ready to cry out; they will call for help because of the arm of many.
10 എന്നാൽ ‘രാത്രിയിൽ ഗീതങ്ങൾ നൽകുന്നവനും ഭൂമിയിലെ മൃഗങ്ങളെക്കാൾ നമ്മെ അഭ്യസിപ്പിക്കുന്നവനും ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികളെക്കാൾ ജ്ഞാനം നൽകുന്നവനുമായ എന്റെ സ്രഷ്ടാവായ ദൈവം എവിടെ?’ എന്ന് ആരും ചോദിക്കുന്നില്ല.
But none said, Where is God that made me, who appoints the night-watches;
who makes me to differ from the four-footed beasts of the earth, and from the birds of the sky?
12 ദുഷ്ടമനുഷ്യരുടെ അഹങ്കാരംനിമിത്തം ജനം നിലവിളിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവിടന്ന് ഉത്തരമരുളുന്നില്ല.
There they shall cry, and none shall hearken, even because of the insolence of wicked men.
13 തീർച്ചയായും വ്യർഥമായ ഒരു നിലവിളി ദൈവം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുകയില്ല; സർവശക്തൻ അവയ്ക്കു യാതൊരുവിധ ശ്രദ്ധയും കൊടുക്കുകയില്ല.
For the Lord desires not to look on error, for he is the Almighty One.
14 അവിടത്തെ കാണുന്നില്ല എന്നു താങ്കൾ പറയുമ്പോൾ എത്ര അല്പം ആയിരിക്കും അവിടന്ന് താങ്കളെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുന്നത്, താങ്കളുടെ ആവലാതി അവിടത്തെ മുമ്പിൽത്തന്നെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അതിനാൽ അവിടത്തേക്കായി കാത്തിരിക്കുക;
He beholds them that perform lawless deeds, and he will save me: and do thou plead before him, if thou canst praise him, as it is [possible] even now.
15 കാരണം, അവിടത്തെ കോപം ശിക്ഷാവിധി നടപ്പാക്കുന്നില്ല, ദുഷ്ടത അവിടന്ന് അശേഷം പരിഗണിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.
For he is not [now] regarding his wrath, nor has he noticed severely any trespass.
16 ഇയ്യോബ് വായ് തുറന്നു വ്യർഥമായി സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; പരിജ്ഞാനമില്ലാതെ അദ്ദേഹം പാഴ്വാക്കുകൾ പുലമ്പുന്നു.”
Yet Job vainly opens his mouth, in ignorance he multiplies words.
