ഇയ്യോബ് 31

1 “ലൈംഗികാസക്തിയോടെ ഒരു യുവതിയെയും നോക്കുകയില്ലെന്ന് ഞാൻ എന്റെ കണ്ണുമായി ഒരു ഉടമ്പടിചെയ്തു.

I made a covenant with mine eyes; How then could I gaze upon a maid?

2 ഉയരത്തിൽനിന്ന് ദൈവം നൽകുന്ന ഓഹരിയും ഉന്നതത്തിൽനിന്ന് സർവശക്തൻ നൽകുന്ന അവകാശവും എന്ത്?

For what is the portion appointed by God from above, And the inheritance allotted by the Almighty from on high?

3 അത് അധർമികളുടെ വിപത്തും ദുഷ്ടത പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവരുടെ നാശവുമല്ലേ?

Is not destruction for the wicked, And ruin for the workers of iniquity?

4 അവിടന്ന് എന്റെ വഴികൾ കാണുന്നില്ലേ? എന്റെ കാലടികളെല്ലാം എണ്ണിനോക്കുന്നില്ലേ?

Doth He not see my ways, And number all my steps?

5 “ഞാൻ കാപട്യത്തിൽ വിഹരിക്കുകയോ, എന്റെ കാൽ വഞ്ചനയ്ക്കു പിറകേ പായുകയോ ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ,

If I have walked with falsehood, And if my foot hath hasted to deceit,

6 ദൈവം നീതിയുടെ ത്രാസിൽ എന്നെ തൂക്കിനോക്കട്ടെ; എന്റെ നിഷ്കളങ്കത അവിടന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കട്ടെ.

Let him weigh me in an even balance; Yea, let God know my integrity!

7 എന്റെ കാലടികൾ നേർവഴിയിൽനിന്ന് മാറിയെങ്കിൽ, എന്റെ ഹൃദയം എന്റെ കണ്ണുകളെ അനുഗമിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ, എന്റെ കൈകൾ കളങ്കിതമായിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ—

If my steps have turned aside from the way, And my heart gone after mine eyes, Or if any stain hath cleaved to my hand,

8 ഞാൻ വിതച്ചതു മറ്റൊരാൾ ഭക്ഷിക്കട്ടെ; എന്റെ വിളവുകൾ പിഴുതെറിയപ്പെടട്ടെ.

Then I may sow, and another eat; And what I plant, may it be rooted up!

9 “എന്റെ ഹൃദയം ഒരു സ്ത്രീയാൽ വശീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ, ഞാൻ എന്റെ അയൽവാസിയുടെ വാതിൽക്കൽ പതിയിരുന്നിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ,

If my heart hath been enticed by a woman, Or if I have watched at my neighbor's door,

10 എന്റെ ഭാര്യ മറ്റൊരു പുരുഷനുവേണ്ടി മാവു പൊടിക്കട്ടെ; മറ്റുള്ളവർ അവളോടൊത്തു കിടക്കപങ്കിടട്ടെ.

Then let my wife grind for another, And let other men lie with her!

11 കാരണം അതു മ്ലേച്ഛതനിറഞ്ഞ ഒരു പാതകവും ശിക്ഷായോഗ്യമായ ഒരു പാപവും ആണല്ലോ.

For this were a heinous crime, Even a transgression to be punished by the judges;

12 അതു നരകപര്യന്തം ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്ന അഗ്നിയാണ്; എന്റെ എല്ലാ സമ്പാദ്യവും അത് ഉന്മൂലനംചെയ്യും.

Yea, it were a fire that would consume to destruction, And root out all my increase.

13 “എന്റെ ദാസനോ ദാസിയോ എന്നോട് ഒരു പരാതി ബോധിപ്പിച്ചിട്ട്; ഞാൻ എന്റെ സേവകരിൽ ആർക്കെങ്കിലും നീതി നിഷേധിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ,

If I have refused justice to my man-servant or maid-servant, When they had a controversy with me,

14 ദൈവം അവിടത്തെ ന്യായവിധി ആരംഭിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ എന്തുചെയ്യും? അവിടന്ന് എന്നോടു കണക്കുചോദിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ എന്ത് ഉത്തരം പറയും?

Then what shall I do when God riseth up? And when he visiteth, what shall I answer him?

15 എന്നെ ഉദരത്തിൽ ഉരുവാക്കിയവനല്ലേ അവരെയും ഉരുവാക്കിയത്? ഒരുവൻതന്നെയല്ലേ ഞങ്ങൾ ഇരുവരെയും മാതൃഗർഭത്തിൽ രൂപപ്പെടുത്തിയത്?

Did not He that made me in the womb make him? Did not one fashion us in the womb?

16 “ഞാൻ ദരിദ്രരുടെ ആഗ്രഹം നിഷേധിക്കുകയോ വിധവയുടെ കണ്ണുകളെ നിരാശപ്പെടുത്തുകയോ ചെയ്തെങ്കിൽ,

If I have refused the poor their desire, And caused the eyes of the widow to fail;

17 അനാഥർക്കു പങ്കുവെക്കാതെ ഞാൻ എന്റെ ആഹാരം തനിയേ ഭക്ഷിച്ചെങ്കിൽ—

If I have eaten my morsel alone, And the fatherless hath not partaken of it;

18 അല്ല, എന്റെ ചെറുപ്പംമുതൽതന്നെ ഒരു പിതാവിനെപ്പോലെ അവരെ പരിപാലിക്കുകയും എന്റെ ജനനംമുതൽതന്നെ ഞാൻ വിധവയെ സഹായിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തല്ലോ—

(Nay, from my youth he grew up with me as with a father, And I have helped the widow from my mother's womb; )

19 ആരെങ്കിലും വസ്ത്രമില്ലാതെ നശിക്കുന്നതും ദരിദ്രർ പുതപ്പില്ലാതെ വിഷമിക്കുന്നതും ഞാൻ കണ്ടിട്ട്,

If I have seen any one perishing for want of clothing, Or any poor man without covering;

20 അവരുടെ ഹൃദയം എന്നോടു നന്ദി പറയാതെയും എന്റെ ആട്ടിൻരോമംകൊണ്ട് അവർ തണുപ്പു മാറ്റാതെയും ഇരുന്നിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ,

If his loins have not blessed me, And he hath not been warmed with the fleece of my sheep;

21 കോടതിയിൽ എനിക്കു സ്വാധീനം ഉണ്ടെന്നു കരുതി അനാഥരിൽ ആർക്കെങ്കിലുമെതിരേ ഞാൻ കൈയോങ്ങിയിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ,

If I have shaken my hand against the fatherless, Because I saw my help in the gate, —

22 എന്റെ കൈ തോളിൽനിന്ന് അടർന്നുപോകട്ടെ; സന്ധിബന്ധങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് അത് ഒടിഞ്ഞുമാറട്ടെ.

Then may my shoulder fill from its blade, And my fore-arm be broken from its bone!

23 കാരണം ദൈവം അയയ്ക്കുന്ന വിപത്ത് ഞാൻ ഭയന്നിരുന്നു; അവിടത്തെ പ്രഭാവംനിമിത്തം എനിക്കൊന്നും ചെയ്യാൻ കഴിയുമായിരുന്നില്ല.

For destruction from God was a terror to me, And before his majesty I could do nothing.

24 “ഞാൻ സ്വർണത്തിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുകയോ ‘നീയാണ് എന്റെ ഭദ്രത,’ എന്നു ശുദ്ധസ്വർണത്തോടു പറയുകയോ ചെയ്തിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ,

If I have made gold my trust, Or said to the fine gold, Thou art my confidence;

25 എന്റെ വൻപിച്ച സമ്പത്തിൽ ഞാൻ ആനന്ദിച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ, എന്റെ കൈകൾ നേടിയ ബഹുസമ്പത്തിൽത്തന്നെ,

If I have rejoiced, because my wealth was great, And my hand had found abundance;

26 കത്തിജ്വലിച്ചു സൂര്യൻ നിൽക്കുന്നതോ പ്രഭ പരത്തി ചന്ദ്രൻ അതിന്റെ ഭ്രമണപഥത്തിൽ നീങ്ങുന്നതോ കണ്ടിട്ട്,

If I have beheld the sun in his splendor, Or the moon advancing in brightness,

27 എന്റെ ഹൃദയം ഗൂഢമായി വശീകരിക്കപ്പെടുകയും എന്റെ കൈകൾ ആദരചുംബനം അർപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ,

And my heart hath been secretly enticed, And my mouth hath kissed my hand,

28 അതും ശിക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടേണ്ട ഒരു പാപമായിത്തീരുമായിരുന്നു, കാരണം, ഉന്നതനായ ദൈവത്തെ ഞാൻ നിഷേധിക്കുകയാണല്ലോ ചെയ്തത്.

This also were a crime to be punished by the judge; For I should have denied the God who is above.

29 “എന്റെ ശത്രുവിന്റെ ദുർഗതിയിൽ ഞാൻ ആഹ്ലാദിക്കുകയോ അവർക്ക് ആപത്തു വരുന്നതുകണ്ട് ആസ്വദിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ,

If I have rejoiced at the destruction of him that hated me, And exulted when evil came upon him;

30 ഇല്ല, ഒരു ശാപവാക്കുകൊണ്ട് അവരുടെ ജീവൻ നശിപ്പിക്കുംവിധം എന്റെ വായ് പാപംചെയ്യാൻ ഞാൻ അതിനെ അനുവദിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.

(Nay, I have not suffered my mouth to sin, By asking with curses his life; )

31 ‘ഇയ്യോബ് നൽകിയ ആഹാരംകൊണ്ടു തൃപ്തിവരാത്ത ആരുണ്ട്,’ എന്ന് എന്റെ കൂടാരത്തിലെ ആളുകൾ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലേ?

If the men of my tent have not exclaimed, “Who is there that hath not been satisfied with his meat?”

32 ഞാൻ വഴിപോക്കന് എന്റെ വാതിലുകൾ എപ്പോഴും തുറന്നുകൊടുത്തു; അതിനാൽ ഒരു അപരിചിതനും തെരുവീഥിയിൽ രാപാർക്കേണ്ടിവന്നിട്ടില്ല.

The stranger did not lodge in the street; I opened my doors to the traveller.

33 ഇതര മനുഷ്യരെപ്പോലെ എന്റെ പാപം ഞാൻ ഒളിപ്പിച്ചു വെച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ, എന്റെ അകൃത്യങ്ങൾ ഞാൻ എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ മറച്ചുവെച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ,

Have I, after the manner of men, hidden my transgression, Concealing my iniquity in my bosom,

34 ആൾക്കൂട്ടത്തെ പേടിച്ച്, കുടുംബാംഗങ്ങളുടെ നിന്ദ ഭയപ്പെട്ട്, ഞാൻ വാതിലിനു പുറത്തിറങ്ങാതെ നിശ്ശബ്ദനായിരുന്നിട്ടുണ്ടോ?

Then let me be confounded before the great multitude! Let the contempt of families cover me with shame! Yea, let me keep silence! let me never appear abroad!

35 “എന്നെ കേൾക്കാൻ ആരെങ്കിലും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ! ഇതാ, എന്റെ പ്രതിവാദത്തിന്മേൽ, ഇതാ, എന്റെ കൈയൊപ്പ്! സർവശക്തൻ എനിക്ക് ഉത്തരം നൽകട്ടെ; എന്നിൽ കുറ്റമാരോപിക്കുന്നവർ എനിക്കെതിരേയുള്ള കുറ്റം രേഖാമൂലം ഹാജരാക്കട്ടെ.

O that there were one who would hear me! Behold my signature! let the Almighty answer me. And let mine adversary write down his charge!

36 തീർച്ചയായും അതു ഞാൻ എന്റെ ചുമലിൽ വഹിക്കുമായിരുന്നു. ഒരു കിരീടംപോലെ അതു ഞാൻ തലയിൽ അണിയുമായിരുന്നു.

Truly I would wear it upon my shoulder; I would bind it upon me as a crown.

37 എന്റെ കാൽച്ചുവടുകളുടെ സംഖ്യ ഞാൻ അവിടത്തെ അറിയിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; അതു ഞാൻ ഒരു ഭരണാധികാരിയോട് എന്നപോലെ അങ്ങയെ ബോധിപ്പിക്കുമായിരുന്നു.

I would disclose to him all my steps; I would approach him like a prince.

38 “എന്റെ നിലം എന്റെനേരേ നിലവിളിക്കുകയും അതിലെ ഉഴവുചാലുകൾ കണ്ണുനീരിനാൽ കുതിരുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ,

If my land cry out against me, And its furrows bewail together;

39 ഞാൻ വിലകൊടുക്കാതെ അതിലെ വിളവു ഭക്ഷിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ, അതിലെ പാട്ടക്കർഷകരുടെ ആത്മഹത്യയ്ക്കു ഞാൻ വഴിതെളിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ,

If I have eaten of its fruits without payment, And wrung out the life of its owners,

40 ഗോതമ്പിനു പകരം മുൾച്ചെടിയും യവത്തിനു പകരം കളകളും അതിൽ മുളച്ചുവരട്ടെ.” ഇയ്യോബിന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ സമാപിച്ചു.

Let thorns grow up instead of wheat, And noxious weeds instead of barley. The words of Job are ended.
