ഇയ്യോബ് 28

1 വെള്ളിക്ക് ഒരു ഖനിയും സ്വർണം ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്നതിന് ഒരു സ്ഥലവും ഉണ്ട്.

"Surely there is a mine for silver, and a place for gold which they refine.

2 ഇരുമ്പ് മണ്ണിൽനിന്നെടുക്കുന്നു; ചെമ്പ് അതിന്റെ അയിര് ഉരുക്കി വേർതിരിക്കുന്നു.

Iron is taken out of the earth, and copper is smelted out of the ore.

3 മനുഷ്യർ അന്ധകാരത്തിന് അറുതി വരുത്തുന്നു; പാറയുടെ വിദൂരഗഹ്വരങ്ങൾ തുരന്നുചെന്ന് ഘോരാന്ധകാരത്തിൽ അയിരു തേടുന്നു.

Man sets an end to darkness, and searches out, to the furthest bound, the stones of obscurity and of thick darkness.

4 ആൾപ്പാർപ്പുള്ള സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്ന് അകലെയായി അവർ ഒരു തുരങ്കം നിർമിക്കുന്നു; മനുഷ്യരുടെ പാദസ്പർശം ഏൽക്കാത്തിടത്ത് ഖനിയിലെ കയറിൽ തൂങ്ങിയാടി അവർ പണിയെടുക്കുന്നു.

He breaks open a shaft away from where people live. They are forgotten by the foot. They hang far from men, they swing back and forth.

5 ഭൂമിയിൽനിന്ന് മനുഷ്യൻ ആഹാരം വിളയിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ അതിന്റെ അന്തർഭാഗം തീപോലെ തിളച്ചുമറിയുന്നു.

As for the earth, out of it comes bread; Underneath it is turned up as it were by fire.

6 അതിലെ പാറകളിൽനിന്ന് ഇന്ദ്രനീലക്കല്ലുകൾ ലഭിക്കുന്നു; അതിലെ മണ്ണിൽ തങ്കക്കട്ടികളുണ്ട്.

Sapphires come from its rocks. It has dust of gold.

7 ഇരപിടിയൻപക്ഷി ആ വഴി അറിയുന്നില്ല, ഒരു പരുന്തിന്റെ കണ്ണും അതു കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല.

That path no bird of prey knows, neither has the falcon's eye seen it.

8 വന്യമൃഗങ്ങൾ ആ വഴി താണ്ടിയിട്ടില്ല, ഒരു സിംഹവും അതിലെ ഇരതേടി ചുറ്റിക്കറങ്ങിയിട്ടില്ല.

The proud animals have not trodden it, nor has the fierce lion passed by there.

9 മനുഷ്യകരങ്ങൾ തീക്കല്ലിൽ ആഞ്ഞുപതിക്കുന്നു, അവർ പർവതങ്ങളുടെ അടിവേരുകൾ ഇളക്കിമറിക്കുന്നു.

He puts forth his hand on the flinty rock, and he overturns the mountains by the roots.

10 അവർ പാറയിലൂടെ തുരങ്കങ്ങൾ വെട്ടിയുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; വിലയേറിയതെന്തും അവരുടെ കണ്ണുകൾ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു.

He cuts out channels among the rocks. His eye sees every precious thing.

11 അവർ നദികളുടെ പ്രഭവസ്ഥാനം തെരഞ്ഞു കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു, നിഗൂഢമായവയെ അവർ വെളിച്ചത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു.

He binds the streams that they do not trickle. The thing that is hidden he brings forth to light.

12 എന്നാൽ ജ്ഞാനം എവിടെനിന്നാണു കണ്ടെത്തുന്നത്? വിവേകം വസിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലം എവിടെ?

"But where shall wisdom be found? Where is the place of understanding?

13 അതിന്റെ മൂല്യം മർത്യർ ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ല; ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദേശത്ത് അതിനെ കണ്ടെത്താൻ കഴിയുന്നതുമില്ല.

Man doesn't know its price; Neither is it found in the land of the living.

14 “അത് എന്നിലില്ല,” എന്ന് ആഴി പറയുന്നു; “അത് എന്റെ അടുക്കലില്ല,” എന്നു സമുദ്രവും അവകാശപ്പെടുന്നു.

The deep says, 'It isn't in me.' The sea says, 'It isn't with me.'

15 മേൽത്തരമായ തങ്കംകൊടുത്ത് അതു വാങ്ങാൻ കഴിയുകയില്ല; വെള്ളി അതിന്റെ വിലയായി തൂക്കിനൽകാനും കഴിയില്ല.

It can't be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for its price.

16 ഓഫീർതങ്കംകൊണ്ട് അതിന്റെ വിലമതിക്കുക അസാധ്യം, ഗോമേദകമോ ഇന്ദ്രനീലക്കല്ലോ അതിനു പകരമാകുകയില്ല.

It can't be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.

17 സ്വർണമോ സ്ഫടികമോ അതിനു തുല്യമാകുകയില്ല, രത്നാലംകൃത സ്വർണാഭരണങ്ങളാൽ അതു വെച്ചുമാറുന്നതിനും സാധ്യമല്ല.

Gold and glass can't equal it, neither shall it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold.

18 പവിഴത്തിന്റെയും സൂര്യകാന്തത്തിന്റെയും കാര്യം പറയുകയേ വേണ്ട; മാണിക്യത്തെക്കാൾ അത്യന്തം മൂല്യവത്താണ് ജ്ഞാനം.

No mention shall be made of coral or of crystal. Yes, the price of wisdom is above rubies.

19 കൂശ് ദേശത്തുള്ള പുഷ്യരാഗംപോലും അതിനോടുപമിക്കാവുന്നതല്ല; പരിശുദ്ധസ്വർണം നൽകിയും അതു വാങ്ങാൻ കഴിയുകയില്ല.

The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, Neither shall it be valued with pure gold.

20 അങ്ങനെയെങ്കിൽ ജ്ഞാനം എവിടെനിന്നു വരുന്നു? വിവേകം വസിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലം എവിടെ?

From where then comes wisdom? Where is the place of understanding?

21 ജീവനുള്ള സകലരുടെയും കണ്ണുകൾക്ക് അതു മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവകൾക്കുപോലും അതു ഗോപ്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

Seeing it is hidden from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the birds of the sky.

22 നരകവും മരണവും പറയുന്നു: “അതിനെപ്പറ്റിയുള്ള ഒരു കേട്ടുകേൾവിമാത്രമാണ് ഞങ്ങളുടെ കാതുകളിൽ എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്.”

Destruction and Death say, 'We have heard a rumor of it with our ears.'

23 അതിലേക്കുള്ള വഴി ദൈവംമാത്രം അറിയുന്നു, അതിന്റെ നിവാസസ്ഥാനം ഏതെന്ന് അവിടത്തേക്കു നിശ്ചയമുണ്ട്,

"God understands its way, and he knows its place.

24 കാരണം ഭൂസീമകൾ അവിടത്തേക്കു ദൃശ്യമാണ് ആകാശവിതാനത്തിനു കീഴിലുള്ള സമസ്തവും അവിടന്ന് കാണുന്നു.

For he looks to the farthest parts of the earth, and sees under the whole sky.

25 കാറ്റിന്റെ ശക്തി അവിടന്നു നിജപ്പെടുത്തിയപ്പോൾ വെള്ളങ്ങളുടെ അളവു നിർണയിച്ചപ്പോൾ,

He establishes the force of the wind. Yes, he measures out the waters by measure.

26 അവിടന്നു മഴയ്ക്ക് ഒരു കൽപ്പനയും ഇടിമിന്നലിന് ഒരു വഴിയും നിശ്ചയിച്ചപ്പോൾ,

When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder;

27 അവിടന്ന് ജ്ഞാനത്തെ കാണുകയും അതിന്റെ മൂല്യം നിർണയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു; അവിടന്ന് അതിനെ സ്ഥിരീകരിക്കുകയും പരിശോധിച്ചുനോക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

then he saw it, and declared it. He established it, yes, and searched it out.

28 “കണ്ടാലും, കർത്താവിനോടുള്ള ഭക്തി—അതാണ് ജ്ഞാനം; ദോഷം വിട്ടകലുന്നതുതന്നെ വിവേകം,” എന്ന് അവിടന്നു മാനവരാശിയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

To man he said, 'Look, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom. To depart from evil is understanding.'"
