ഇയ്യോബ് 21

1 അതിന് ഇയ്യോബ് ഇങ്ങനെയാണ് മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞത്:

Then Job answered, and said:

2 “എന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ കേൾക്കുക; നിങ്ങൾ എനിക്കു നൽകുന്ന ആശ്വാസം അതാകട്ടെ.

Hear, I beseech you, my words, and do penance.

3 ഞാൻ സംസാരിക്കുന്നത് ഒന്നു ക്ഷമയോടെ കേൾക്കുക, സംസാരിച്ചുതീർന്നശേഷം നിങ്ങൾക്കെന്നെ പരിഹസിക്കാം.

Suffer me, and I will speak, and after, if you please, laugh at my words.

4 “ഒരു മനുഷ്യനോടല്ലല്ലോ ഞാൻ എന്റെ ആവലാതി പറയുന്നത്? പിന്നെ ഞാൻ അക്ഷമനാകാതിരിക്കുന്നതെങ്ങനെ?

Is my debate against man, that I should not have just reason to be troubled?

5 എന്നെ നോക്കുക, ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെടുക; സ്തബ്ധരായി കൈകൊണ്ട് വായ് പൊത്തിക്കൊൾക.

Hearken to me and be astonished, and lay your finger on your mouth.

6 അതോർക്കുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ ഭയവിഹ്വലനാകുന്നു; വിറയൽ എന്റെ ശരീരത്തെ ബാധിച്ചിക്കുന്നു.

As for me, when I remember, I am afraid, and trembling taketh hold on my flesh.

7 ദുഷ്ടർ ദീർഘായുസ്സോടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നതും വൃദ്ധരായശേഷവും ശക്തി ഏറിവരുന്നതും എന്തുകൊണ്ട്?

Why then do the wicked live, are they advanced, and strengthened with riches?

8 അവരുടെ പിൻഗാമികൾ അവരുടെ ചുറ്റിലും അവരുടെ സന്താനങ്ങൾ അവരുടെ കൺമുന്നിലും സുസ്ഥിരരായിത്തീരുന്നു.

Their seed continueth before them, a multitude of kinsmen, and of children’s children in their sight.

9 അവരുടെ ഭവനങ്ങൾ ഭയംകൂടാതെ സുരക്ഷിതമായിരിക്കുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ശിക്ഷാദണ്ഡ് അവരുടെമേൽ വീഴുന്നതുമില്ല.

Their houses are secure and peaceable, and the rod of God is not upon them.

10 അവരുടെ കാള ഇണചേരുന്നു, അതു പാഴാകുകയില്ല; അവരുടെ പശുക്കൾ ഗർഭം അലസാതെ കിടാങ്ങളെ പ്രസവിക്കുന്നു.

Their cattle have conceived, and failed not: their cow has calved, and is not deprived of her fruit.

11 ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തെപ്പോലെ അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളെ പുറത്തേക്കയയ്ക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ കുഞ്ഞുകുട്ടികൾ തുള്ളിക്കളിച്ചു നടക്കുന്നു.

Their little ones go out like a flock, and their children dance and play.

12 അവർ തപ്പോടും കിന്നരത്തോടുംകൂടെ ഗാനമാലപിക്കുന്നു; കുഴൽനാദത്തിൽ അവർ ഉല്ലാസനർത്തനമാടുന്നു.

They take the timbrel, and the harp, and rejoice at the sound of the organ.

13 അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ വർഷങ്ങൾ സുഭിക്ഷതയിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്നു, സമാധാനത്തോടെ അവർ ശവക്കുഴിയിലേക്കിറങ്ങുന്നു. (Sheol h7585)

They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment they go down to hell. (Sheol h7585)

14 എന്നിട്ടും അവർ ദൈവത്തോടു പറയുന്നു: ‘ഞങ്ങളെ വിട്ടുപോകുക! അവിടത്തെ വഴികൾ അറിയുന്നതിനു ഞങ്ങൾക്കു താത്പര്യമില്ല.

Who have said to God: Depart from us, we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.

15 ഞങ്ങൾ സർവശക്തനെ സേവിക്കേണ്ടതിന് അവിടന്ന് ആരാണ്? അവിടത്തോടു പ്രാർഥിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് എന്തു പ്രയോജനമാണുള്ളത്?’

Who is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what doth it profit us if we pray to him?

16 എന്നാൽ അവരുടെ അഭിവൃദ്ധി അവരുടെ കൈകളാലല്ല; അതുകൊണ്ട് ദുഷ്ടരുടെ ആലോചനയിൽനിന്ന് ഞാൻ അകന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

Yet because their good things are not in their hand, may the counsel of the wicked be far from me.

17 “എത്രയോ പ്രാവശ്യം ദുഷ്ടരുടെ വിളക്കു കെട്ടുപോകുന്നു? എത്രതവണ അവർക്ക് ആപത്തു വന്നുഭവിക്കുകയും ദൈവം തന്റെ കോപത്തിൽ അവർക്കു നാശം വരുത്തുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നു?

How often shall the lamp of the wicked be put out, and a deluge come upon them, and he shall distribute the sorrows of his wrath?

18 എത്രപ്രാവശ്യം അവർ കാറ്റിനുമുമ്പിൽ പറന്നകലുന്ന കച്ചിത്തുരുമ്പുപോലെയും കൊടുങ്കാറ്റിന്റെമുമ്പിലെ പതിരുപോലെയും ആയിരിക്കുന്നു.

They shall be as chaff before the face of the wind, and as ashes which the whirlwind scattereth.

19 ‘ദൈവം ദുഷ്ടരുടെ അനീതി അവരുടെ മക്കൾക്കായി സംഗ്രഹിച്ചുവെക്കുന്നു,’ എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നു. അവർ സ്വയം മനസ്സിലാക്കേണ്ടതിന് ദൈവം ദുഷ്ടരോടുതന്നെ പ്രതികാരംചെയ്യട്ടെ!

God shall lay up the sorrow of the father for his children: and when he shall repay, then shall he know.

20 അവരുടെ നാശം അവരുടെ കണ്ണുകൾതന്നെ കാണട്ടെ; സർവശക്തന്റെ ക്രോധം അവർതന്നെ പാനംചെയ്യട്ടെ.

His eyes shall see his own destruction, and he shall drink of the wrath of the Almighty.

21 അവർക്ക് അനുവദിക്കപ്പെട്ട മാസങ്ങൾ അവസാനിക്കുമ്പോൾ തങ്ങൾ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുപോകുന്ന കുടുംബത്തെപ്പറ്റി അവർക്ക് എന്ത് ഉത്കണ്ഠ?

For what is it to him what befalleth his house after him: and if the number of his months be diminished by one half?

22 “ദൈവത്തിന് ജ്ഞാനംപകരാൻ ആർക്കെങ്കിലും കഴിയുമോ? അവിടന്ന് അതിമഹാന്മാരെയും ന്യായംവിധിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

Shall any one teach God knowledge, who judgeth those that are high?

23 ഒരാൾ ഊർജസ്വലതയോടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾത്തന്നെ മരിക്കുന്നു, സമ്പൂർണസുരക്ഷയും സമൃദ്ധിയും

One man dieth strong, and hale, rich and happy.

24 ശരീരപോഷണവും അസ്ഥികൾ മജ്ജയാൽ നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുമ്പോഴുംതന്നെ.

His bowels are full of fat, and his bones are moistened with marrow.

25 അതേസമയം മറ്റൊരാൾ ജീവിതത്തിൽ ഒരിക്കലും ഒരു സുഖവുമനുഭവിക്കാതെ മനോവ്യസനത്തോടെ മരിക്കുന്നു.

But another dieth in bitterness of soul without any riches:

26 അവർ ഇരുവരും ഒരുപോലെ പൊടിയിൽ കിടക്കുന്നു, പുഴുക്കൾ അവരെ പൊതിയുന്നു.

And yet they shall sleep together in the dust, and worms shall cover them.

27 “നോക്കൂ, നിങ്ങൾ ചിന്തിക്കുന്നത് എന്തെന്ന് എനിക്കു നന്നായി അറിയാം, എനിക്കെതിരേ നിങ്ങൾ നിരൂപിക്കുന്ന പദ്ധതികളും ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നുണ്ട്.

Surely I know your thoughts, and your unjust judgments against me.

28 നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നു: ‘പ്രഭുവിന്റെ ഭവനം എവിടെ? ദുഷ്ടരുടെ വാസസ്ഥലങ്ങൾ എവിടെ?’

For you say: Where is the house of the prince? and where are the dwelling places of the wicked?

29 വഴിപോകുന്നവരോടു നിങ്ങൾ ചോദിച്ചിട്ടില്ലേ? അവരുടെ സാക്ഷ്യം നിങ്ങൾക്കു സ്വീകാര്യമല്ലേ?

Ask any one of them that go by the way, and you shall perceive that he knoweth these same things.

30 വിനാശദിവസത്തിൽനിന്നു ദുഷ്ടർ രക്ഷപ്പെടുന്നു; ക്രോധദിവസത്തിൽനിന്ന് അവർ വിമോചിതരാകുന്നു.

Because the wicked man is reserved to the day of destruction, and he shall be brought to the day of wrath.

31 അവരുടെ മുഖത്തുനോക്കി അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ ആര് നിരാകരിക്കും? അവരുടെ ചെയ്തികൾക്ക് ആര് പകരംചെയ്യും?

Who shall reprove his way to his face? and who shall repay him what he hath done?

32 അവരെ ശ്മശാനത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നു; അവരുടെ കല്ലറയ്ക്ക് കാവൽ ഏർപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുമുണ്ട്.

He shall be brought to the graves, and shall watch in the heap of the dead.

33 താഴ്വരയിലെ മൺകട്ടകൾ അവർക്കു മധുരമായിരിക്കും; അവർക്കുമുമ്പായി അസംഖ്യംപേർ പോകുന്നു, എല്ലാവരും അവരെ അനുഗമിക്കുന്നു.

He hath been acceptable to the gravel of Cocytus, and he shall draw every man after him, and there are innumerable before him.

34 “പിന്നെ നിങ്ങളുടെ നിരർഥവാക്കുകൾകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുന്നതെങ്ങനെ? നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉത്തരങ്ങളിൽ വ്യാജമല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നും അവശേഷിച്ചിട്ടില്ലല്ലോ!”

How then do ye comfort me in vain, whereas your answer is shewn to be repugnant to truth?
