ഇയ്യോബ് 15

1 അപ്പോൾ തേമാന്യനായ എലീഫാസ് ഇപ്രകാരം ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു:

Then Eliphaz the Thaemanite answered and said,

2 “ജ്ഞാനിയായ ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ വ്യർഥജ്ഞാനമുള്ള മറുപടി പറയുമോ? കിഴക്കൻ കാറ്റുകൊണ്ട് അവർ വയറുനിറയ്ക്കുമോ?

Will a wise man give for answer a [mere] breath of wisdom? and does he fill up the pain of his belly,

3 അവർ അർഥശൂന്യമായ വാക്കുകൾകൊണ്ടും ഉപകാരമില്ലാത്ത സംഭാഷണംകൊണ്ടും തർക്കിക്കുമോ?

reasoning with improper sayings, and with words wherein is no profit?

4 എന്നാൽ ദൈവഭക്തിപോലും നീ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ദൈവസന്നിധിയിലുള്ള ധ്യാനം നീ തുച്ഛീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

Hast not you moreover cast off fear, and accomplished such words before the Lord?

5 അകൃത്യം നിന്റെ വാക്കുകളിൽത്തന്നെ വ്യക്തമാകുന്നു; കൗശലക്കാരുടെ ഭാഷ നീ തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

You are guilty by the words of your mouth, neither have you discerned the words of the mighty.

6 ഞാനല്ല, നിന്റെ വായ്‌തന്നെ നിന്നെ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെതന്നെ അധരങ്ങൾ നിനക്കെതിരേ സാക്ഷ്യംനൽകുന്നു.

Let your own mouth, and not me, reprove you: and your lips shall testify against you.

7 “നീയാണോ ആദ്യം ജനിച്ച മനുഷ്യൻ? കുന്നുകൾക്കുംമുമ്പേ പിറന്നവൻ നീയോ?

What! are you the first man that was born? or were you established before the hills?

8 നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലോചന ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ? ജ്ഞാനം കുത്തകയായി ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു നിനക്കുമാത്രമോ?

Or have you heard the ordinance of the Lord? or has God used you as [his] counsellor? and has wisdom come [only] to you?

9 ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് അജ്ഞാതമായിരിക്കുന്ന ഏതു കാര്യമാണ് നിനക്ക് അറിയാവുന്നത്? ഞങ്ങൾക്കില്ലാത്ത ഏത് ഉൾക്കാഴ്ചയാണ് നീ സമ്പാദിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്?

For what know you, that, we know not? or what understand you, which we do not also?

10 തല നരച്ചവരും വയോധികരും ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലുണ്ട്; നിന്റെ പിതാവിനെക്കാൾ പ്രായമുള്ളവർതന്നെ

Truly among us [are] both the old and very aged man, more advanced in days than your father.

11 ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആശ്വാസവചസ്സുകളും നിന്നോടു സൗമ്യമായി പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കുകളും നിനക്കു വളരെ നിസ്സാരമോ?

You have been scourged for [but] few of your sins: you have spoken haughtily [and] extravagantly.

12 നിന്റെ ഹൃദയം നിന്നെ വഴിതെറ്റിക്കുന്നതെന്തിന്? നിന്റെ കണ്ണുകൾ ജ്വലിക്കുന്നതിനും കാരണമെന്ത്?

What has your heart dared? or what have your eyes [aimed at],

13 നീ ദൈവത്തിനെതിരേ നിന്റെ ക്രോധം ജ്വലിപ്പിക്കുകയും ഇത്തരം വാക്കുകൾ നിന്റെ അധരങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നത് എന്തിന്?

that you have vented [your] rage before the Lord, and delivered such words from [your] mouth?

14 “മനുഷ്യർക്കു നിർമലരായിരിക്കാൻ കഴിയുമോ? സ്ത്രീയിൽനിന്ന് ഉത്ഭവിച്ചവർക്ക് നീതിനിഷ്ഠരാകാൻ കഴിയുമോ?

For who, being a mortal, [is such] that he shall be blameless? or, [who that is] born of a woman, that he should be just?

15 ദൈവം തന്റെ വിശുദ്ധരെ വിശ്വാസത്തിൽ എടുക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ സ്വർഗവും അവിടത്തെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ നിർമലമല്ലെങ്കിൽ,

Forasmuch as he trusts not his saints; and the heaven is not pure before him.

16 നിന്ദ്യനും ദൂഷിതനും അനീതിയെ വെള്ളംപോലെ കുടിക്കുന്നവനുമായ മനുഷ്യർ എത്രയധികം!

Alas then, abominable and unclean is man, drinking unrighteousness as a draught.

17 “എന്നെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക, ഞാൻ നിനക്കു വിശദീകരിച്ചുതരാം; എന്റെ നിരീക്ഷണങ്ങൾ ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു വിവരിക്കട്ടെ.

But I will tell you, listen to me; I will tell you now what I have seen;

18 ജ്ഞാനികൾ തങ്ങളുടെ പൂർവികരിൽനിന്ന് കേട്ടതും ഒന്നും മറച്ചുവെക്കാതെ വിളിച്ചുപറയുകയും ചെയ്ത വാക്കുകൾതന്നെ.

things wise men say, and their fathers have not hidden.

19 ഒരു വിദേശിയും അവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കുമ്പോഴാണ്, അവർക്കുമാത്രമായി ഈ ദേശം നൽകപ്പെട്ടത്.

To them alone the earth was given, and no stranger came upon them.

20 ദുഷ്ടർ തങ്ങളുടെ ആയുഷ്കാലം മുഴുവൻ വേദനയിൽ പുളയുന്നു; നിഷ്ഠുരർക്കു നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ട സംവത്സരങ്ങൾ തികയുന്നതുവരെത്തന്നെ.

All the life of the ungodly [is spent] in care, and the years granted to the oppressor are numbered.

21 അവരുടെ കാതുകളിൽ ഭീതിയുടെ ശബ്ദം മുഴങ്ങുന്നു; എല്ലാം ശുഭമായിരിക്കുമ്പോൾത്തന്നെ സംഹാരകർ അവരെ ആക്രമിക്കുന്നു.

And his terror is in his ears: just when he seems to be at peace, his overthrow will come.

22 അന്ധകാരത്തിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷപ്പെടാൻ കഴിയുമെന്ന് അവർക്കു പ്രതീക്ഷയില്ല; അവർ വാളിന് നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

Let him not trust that he shall return from darkness, for he has been already made over to the power of the sword.

23 ആഹാരത്തിനായി കഴുകൻ എന്നപോലെ അവർ അലഞ്ഞുതിരിയുന്നു; അന്ധകാരദിനം അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് അവർ അറിയുന്നു.

And he has been appointed to be food for vultures; and he knows within himself that he is doomed to be a carcass: and a dark day shall carry him away as with a whirlwind.

24 കഷ്ടപ്പാടും അതിവേദനയും അവരെ ഭയപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു; യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധനായ രാജാവിനെപ്പോലെ അവ അവരെ ആക്രമിക്കുന്നു.

Distress also and anguish shall come upon him: he shall fall as a captain in the first rank.

25 അവർ ദൈവത്തിനു വിരോധമായി മുഷ്ടിചുരുട്ടുകയാലും സർവശക്തന്റെനേരേ ഊറ്റംകൊള്ളുകയാലുംതന്നെ.

For he has lifted his hands against the Lord, and he has hardened his neck against the Almighty Lord.

26 ഘനമുള്ളതും ശക്തിയേറിയതുമായ പരിചയേന്തിക്കൊണ്ട് അവർ ധിക്കാരഭാവത്തോടെ അവിടത്തേക്കെതിരേ പാഞ്ഞുചെല്ലുന്നു.

And he has run against him with insolence, on the thickness of the back of his shield.

27 “ദുഷ്ടരുടെ മുഖം മേദസ്സുകൊണ്ടു തുടുത്തുകൊഴുക്കുന്നു അവരുടെ അരക്കെട്ട് കൊഴുത്തു തടിച്ചവ ആണെങ്കിലും,

For he has covered his face with his fat, and made layers of fat upon his thighs.

28 അവർ നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ട നഗരങ്ങളിൽ താമസമാക്കും. ഇടിഞ്ഞുവീഴാറായതും ആരും പാർക്കാത്തതുമായ വീടുകളിൽത്തന്നെ അവർ പാർക്കും.

And let him lodge in desolate cities, and enter into houses without inhabitant: and what they have prepared, others shall carry away.

29 അവർ ധനികരാകുകയോ അവരുടെ സമ്പത്തു നിലനിൽക്കുകയോ ഇല്ല; അവരുടെ സമ്പാദ്യങ്ങൾ ദേശത്തു വർധിക്കുകയുമില്ല.

Neither shall he at all grow rich, nor shall his substance remain: he shall not cast a shadow upon the earth.

30 ഇരുളിൽനിന്ന് അവർ രക്ഷപ്പെടുകയില്ല; അവരുടെ മുളകളെ തീനാളം കരിച്ചുകളയും തിരുവായിലെ നിശ്വാസത്താൽ അവർ നശിച്ചുപോകും.

Neither shall he in any wise escape the darkness: let the wind blast his blossom, and let his flower fall off.

31 അവർ തങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ വഞ്ചിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ശൂന്യമായവയിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കാതിരിക്കട്ടെ, കാരണം അവരുടെ പ്രതിഫലവും ശൂന്യമായിരിക്കും.

Let him not think that he shall endure; for his end shall be vanity.

32 അവരുടെ കാലംതികയുന്നതിനു മുമ്പുതന്നെ അവർ മാഞ്ഞുപോകും അവരുടെ ശാഖകൾ തഴച്ചുവളരുകയുമില്ല.

His harvest shall perish before the time, and his branch shall not flourish.

33 മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയിലെ പാകമാകാത്ത കായ്കൾ ഉതിർന്നുപോകുന്നതുപോലെയും; ഒലിവുമരത്തിലെ പൂക്കൾ കൊഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നതുപോലെയും ആയിരിക്കും അവർ.

And let him be gathered as the unripe grape before the time, and let him fall as the blossom of the olive.

34 കാരണം, അഭക്തരുടെ സംഘം വന്ധ്യതയുള്ളവരാകും; കൈക്കൂലിക്കാരുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങൾ അഗ്നിക്കിരയാകും.

For death is the witness of an ungodly man, and fire shall burn the houses of them that receive gifts.

35 അവർ ദ്രോഹത്തെ ഗർഭംധരിച്ച് അനീതിയെ പ്രസവിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ഉദരം വഞ്ചന രൂപപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.”

And he shall conceive sorrows, and his end shall be vanity, and his belly shall bear deceit.
