യിരെമ്യാവു 9
1 അയ്യോ! എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ നിഹതന്മാർനിമിത്തം രാവും പകലും കരയേണ്ടതിന്, എന്റെ തല ഒരു നീരുറവയും എന്റെ കണ്ണുകൾ കണ്ണുനീരിന്റെ ജലധാരയും ആയിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ!
Who makes my head waters, And my eye a fountain of tears? And I weep by day and by night, For the wounded of the daughter of my people.
2 അയ്യോ! ഞാൻ എന്റെ ജനത്തെ വിട്ടകന്ന് അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽനിന്ന് അകലെ പോകുന്നതിന്, എനിക്ക് മരുഭൂമിയിൽ വഴിയാത്രക്കാരുടെ ഒരു സത്രം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ! അവരെല്ലാം വ്യഭിചാരികളും വഞ്ചകരായ ഒരു സമൂഹവും ആണല്ലോ.
Who gives me in a wilderness A lodging-place for travelers? And I leave my people, and go from them, For all of them [are] adulterers, An assembly of treacherous ones.
3 “അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ നാവുകൾ വ്യാജം പറയുന്നതിനു വില്ലുപോലെ കുലയ്ക്കുന്നു; സത്യം നിമിത്തമല്ല അവർ ഭൂമിയിൽ വിജയിക്കുന്നത്. അവർ ഒരു പാപത്തിൽനിന്നു മറ്റൊന്നിലേക്കു മുന്നേറുന്നു; അവർ എന്നെ അറിയുന്നില്ല,” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
“And they bend their tongue, Their bow [is] a lie, And they have not been mighty for steadfastness in the land, For they have gone forth from evil to evil, And they have not known Me,” A declaration of YHWH!
4 “നിങ്ങളുടെ സ്നേഹിതരെ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ളുക; സഹോദരങ്ങളിൽ ആരെയും നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കരുത്. കാരണം അവർ ഓരോരുത്തരും വഞ്ചകരും ഓരോ സ്നേഹിതരും അപവാദം പരത്തുന്നവരുംതന്നെ.
“You each beware of his friend, And do not trust any brother, For every brother utterly supplants, For every friend slanderously walks,
5 ഓരോരുത്തനും തന്റെ അയൽവാസിയെ വഞ്ചിക്കും, ആരും സത്യം പറയുകയുമില്ല. വ്യാജം പറയാൻ അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ നാവുകളെ ശീലിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; പാപംചെയ്തുകൊണ്ട് അവർ തങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ ക്ഷീണിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
And they each mock at his friend, And they do not speak truth, They taught their tongue to speak falsehood, They have labored to commit iniquity.
6 നിന്റെ വാസം വഞ്ചനയുടെ മധ്യത്തിലാണ്, അവരുടെ വഞ്ചനയിൽ അവർ എന്നെ അംഗീകരിക്കാൻ വിസമ്മതിക്കുന്നു,” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
Your dwelling [is] in the midst of deceit, Through deceit they refused to know Me,” A declaration of YHWH.
7 അതിനാൽ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഇതാ, ഞാൻ അവരെ സ്ഫുടംചെയ്തു പരിശോധിക്കും, എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പാപംനിമിത്തം മറ്റെന്തു ചെയ്യാൻ എനിക്കു കഴിയും?
Therefore, thus said YHWH of Hosts: “Behold, I am refining them, and have tried them, For how do I deal with the daughter of My people?
8 അവരുടെ നാവ് മാരകമായ ഒരു അമ്പാണ്; അതു വഞ്ചന സംസാരിക്കുന്നു. അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ അയൽവാസിയോട് വാകൊണ്ട് സൗഹൃദത്തോടെ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ അവർക്കായി കെണിയൊരുക്കുന്നു.
Their tongue [is] a slaughtering arrow, It has spoken deceit in its mouth, It speaks peace with its neighbor, And in its heart it lays its ambush,
9 ഈ കാര്യംനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ അവരെ ശിക്ഷിക്കാതിരിക്കുമോ?” യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു. “ഇതുപോലെയുള്ള ഒരു ജനതയോട് ഞാൻ പകരം ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കുമോ?”
Do I not see after them for these things?” A declaration of YHWH, “Does My soul not avenge itself against a nation such as this?”
10 പർവതങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി ഞാൻ കരയുകയും അലമുറയിടുകയും ചെയ്യും മരുഭൂമിയിലെ പുൽമേടുകളെക്കുറിച്ച് ഞാൻ വിലാപഗീതം ആലപിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. ആരും അതിലൂടെ യാത്രചെയ്യുന്നുമില്ല, കന്നുകാലികളുടെ അമറൽ അവിടെ കേൾക്കാനുമില്ല. ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികളെല്ലാം പറന്നുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു മൃഗങ്ങളെല്ലാം അവിടംവിട്ടു പോയുമിരിക്കുന്നു.
I lift up weeping and wailing for the mountains, And a lamentation for the habitations of the wilderness, For they have been burned up without any passing over, Nor have they heard the voice of livestock, From the bird of the heavens and to the beast—they have fled, They have gone.
11 “ഞാൻ ജെറുശലേമിനെ ഒരു കൽക്കുന്നും കുറുനരികൾ വിഹരിക്കുന്ന ഇടവുമാക്കും; ഞാൻ യെഹൂദാനഗരങ്ങളെ നിവാസികളില്ലാത്ത ശൂന്യസ്ഥലമാക്കിമാറ്റും.”
“And I make Jerusalem become heaps, A habitation of dragons, And I make the cities of Judah a desolation, Without inhabitant.”
12 ഇതു ഗ്രഹിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്ന ജ്ഞാനിയാര്? അതു വ്യക്തമാക്കാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം യഹോവയാൽ അഭ്യസിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ ആര്? ആരും വഴിപോകാതവണ്ണം ഈ ദേശം മരുഭൂമിപോലെ നശിച്ചുപോകാൻ കാരണമെന്ത്?
Who [is] the wise man? And he understands this, And he to whom the mouth of YHWH spoke? And he declares it, For why has the land perished? It has been burned up as a wilderness, Without any passing through.
13 യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഞാൻ അവരുടെമുമ്പിൽ വെച്ച ന്യായപ്രമാണം അവർ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയും എന്നെ അനുസരിക്കാതിരിക്കുകയും എന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം പാലിക്കാതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതിനാൽത്തന്നെ.
And YHWH says: “Because of their forsaking My law that I set before them, And they have not listened to My voice nor walked in it,
14 പ്രത്യുത, അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ ദുർവാശിയനുസരിച്ചും തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ പഠിപ്പിച്ച ബാലിന്റെ വഴിയിൽ ജീവിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.”
And they walk after the stubbornness of their heart, And after the Ba‘alim, That their fathers taught them,”
15 അതുകൊണ്ട് ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഞാൻ ഈ ജനത്തെ കയ്‌പുള്ള ഭക്ഷണം കഴിപ്പിക്കുകയും വിഷജലം കുടിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
Therefore, thus said YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel: “Behold, I am causing them—this people—to eat wormwood, And I have caused them to drink water of gall,
16 അവരോ അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോ അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്ത രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ ഞാൻ അവരെ ചിതറിച്ചുകളയും, ഞാൻ അവരെ മുടിച്ചുകളയുന്നതുവരെ അവരുടെ പിന്നാലെ വാൾ അയയ്ക്കും.”
And I have scattered them among nations Which they did not know, they and their fathers, And have sent the sword after them, Until I have consumed them.”
17 സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “നിങ്ങൾ ചിന്തിച്ച്, വിലപിക്കുന്നതിന് സ്ത്രീകളെ വിളിപ്പിക്കുക; അവരിൽ സമർഥരായവരെത്തന്നെ വരുത്തുക.
Thus said YHWH of Hosts: “Consider, and call for mourning women, And they come, And send to the wise women, And they come,
18 “അവർ വേഗംവന്ന് നമുക്കുവേണ്ടി ഒരു ദുഃഖാചരണം നടത്തട്ടെ; നമ്മുടെ കണ്ണുകളിൽനിന്ന് കണ്ണീർ കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകുംവരെ, കൺപോളകളിൽനിന്ന് അശ്രു പ്രവഹിക്കുംവരെത്തന്നെ.
And they hurry, and lift up a wailing for us. And tears run down our eyes, And waters flow from our eyelids.
19 സീയോനിൽനിന്ന് ഒരു വിലാപശബ്ദം കേൾക്കുന്നു: ‘നാം എത്ര ശൂന്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു! നമ്മുടെ ലജ്ജ എത്ര വലുതായിരിക്കുന്നു! നമ്മുടെ വാസസ്ഥലങ്ങൾ നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതിനാൽ, നാം നമ്മുടെ ദേശം വിട്ടുപോയേ തീരൂ.’”
For a voice of wailing is heard from Zion: How we have been spoiled! We have been greatly ashamed, Because we have forsaken the land, Because they have cast down our dwelling places.”
20 ഇപ്പോൾ, സ്ത്രീകളേ, യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേൾക്കുക; നിങ്ങളുടെ കാതുകൾ അവിടത്തെ വായിലെ വചനത്തിനായി തുറക്കുക. നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രിമാരെ വിലപിക്കാനും നിങ്ങൾ പരസ്പരം വിലാപഗീതം ആലപിക്കാനും അഭ്യസിപ്പിക്കുക.
But hear, you women, a word of YHWH, And your ear receives a word of His mouth, And teach your daughters wailing, And each her neighbor lamentation.
21 മരണം നമ്മുടെ ജനാലകളിൽക്കൂടി കയറി കെട്ടിയുറപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ട നമ്മുടെ കോട്ടകളിൽ പ്രവേശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അത്, തെരുവീഥികളിൽനിന്നു കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെയും ചത്വരങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു യുവാക്കളെയും നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
For death has come up into our windows, It has come into our palaces, To cut off the suckling from outside, Young men from the broad places.
22 “യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട് ഇതാകുന്നു എന്നറിയിക്കുക: “‘ആളുകളുടെ ശവങ്ങൾ തുറസ്സായസ്ഥലത്തെ ചാണകംപോലെയും കൊയ്ത്തുകാരന്റെ പിന്നിലെ ഉതിർമണികൾപോലെയും വീണുകിടക്കും, അവ ശേഖരിക്കാൻ ആരുംതന്നെ ഉണ്ടാകുകയില്ല.’”
Speak thus, “A declaration of YHWH, And the carcass of man has fallen, As dung on the face of the field, And as a handful after the reaper, And there is none gathering.”
23 യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ജ്ഞാനി തങ്ങളുടെ ജ്ഞാനത്തിൽ പ്രശംസിക്കുകയോ ശക്തർ തങ്ങളുടെ ബലത്തിൽ പ്രശംസിക്കുകയോ ധനികർ തങ്ങളുടെ ധനത്തിൽ പുകഴുകയോ അരുത്,
Thus said YHWH: “Do not let the wise boast himself in his wisdom, Nor let the mighty boast himself in his might, Do not let the rich boast himself in his riches,
24 യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ ഭൂമിയിൽ ദയയും ന്യായവും നീതിയും നടപ്പിൽവരുത്തുന്നു, ഇവയിലത്രേ ഞാൻ പ്രസാദിക്കുന്നത് എന്ന്, എന്നെക്കുറിച്ച് ഗ്രഹിക്കാനുള്ള ജ്ഞാനം അവർക്കുണ്ട് എന്നതിൽ അഭിമാനിക്കുന്നവർ അഭിമാനിക്കട്ടെ,” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
But let the boaster boast himself in this, In understanding and knowing Me, For I [am] YHWH, doing kindness, Judgment, and righteousness, in the earth, For I have delighted in these,” A declaration of YHWH.
25 “ശരീരത്തിൽമാത്രം പരിച്ഛേദനമേറ്റവരായ—ഈജിപ്റ്റ്, യെഹൂദാ, ഏദോം, അമ്മോൻ, മോവാബ്, വിദൂരമരുഭൂമികളിൽ വസിക്കുന്നവർ ഇവരെയെല്ലാം ഞാൻ ശിക്ഷിക്കാനിരിക്കുന്ന ദിവസങ്ങൾ ഇതാ വന്നെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു. കാരണം ഇവരെല്ലാം യഥാർഥത്തിൽ പരിച്ഛേദനമേൽക്കാത്തവരാണല്ലോ, ഇസ്രായേൽഗൃഹം മുഴുവനുംതന്നെയും ഹൃദയത്തിൽ പരിച്ഛേദനമില്ലാത്തവരാണ്,” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
“Behold, days are coming,” A declaration of YHWH, “And I have laid a charge on all circumcised in the foreskin,
On Egypt, and on Judah, and on Edom, And on the sons of Ammon, and on Moab, And on all cutting the corner [of the beard], Who are dwelling in the wilderness, For all the nations [are] uncircumcised, And all the house of Israel [are] uncircumcised in heart!”
