യിരെമ്യാവു 3
1 “യഹോവ ചോദിക്കുന്നു: “ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ തന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുകയും അവൾ അയാളെ വിട്ട് മറ്റൊരുവനു ഭാര്യയായിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്താൽ, അയാൾ അവളുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു വീണ്ടും മടങ്ങിച്ചെല്ലുമോ? അങ്ങനെയുള്ള ദേശംമുഴുവനും മലിനമായിത്തീരുകയില്ലേ? എന്നാൽ നീ അനേകം കാമുകന്മാരുമായി വേശ്യാവൃത്തിയിൽ ഏർപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു, ഇപ്പോൾ നീ എന്റെ അടുത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിവരുന്നോ?” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
He hath said, If a man send away his wife, and she go from him and become another man’s, will he return unto her, again? would not that land be, utterly defiled? And, thou, hast been unchaste with many neighbours, and yet [thinkest] to return unto me! Declareth Yahweh.
2 “മൊട്ടക്കുന്നുകളിലേക്കു കണ്ണുയർത്തി നോക്കുക. നീ ബലാൽക്കാരം ചെയ്യപ്പെടാത്ത സ്ഥലം ഏതുള്ളൂ? മരുഭൂമിയിൽ ഒരു ദേശാന്തരിയെന്നപോലെ വഴിവക്കുകളിൽ നീ കാമുകന്മാർക്കായി പതിയിരുന്നു. നിന്റെ വേശ്യാവൃത്തിയാലും ദുഷ്ടതയാലും നീ ദേശത്തെ മലിനമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
Lift up thine eyes unto the bare heights and see—where thou hast not been unchastely embraced! beside the ways, hast thou sat to them, like the Arabian in the desert, —and hast defiled the land with thine unchastities, and with thy wickedness.
3 അതുമൂലം മഴ നിന്നുപോയി, പിന്മഴ പെയ്തതുമില്ല. നിനക്കുള്ളത് ഒരു വേശ്യയുടെ ലജ്ജാകരമായ രൂപമാണ്; ലജ്ജയുടെ ഒരു ഭാവവും നിന്നിൽ ഉണ്ടായതുമില്ല.
Therefore have been withholden the showers, And, the latter rain, hath not come, —Yet the forehead of an unchaste woman, hast thou, Thou hast refused to be ashamed.
4 എന്നിട്ടും നീ എന്നോട്: ‘എന്റെ പിതാവേ, നീ ഇന്നുമുതൽ എന്റെ യൗവനത്തിലെ ആത്മമിത്രമല്ലേ,
Hast thou not from this time, cried unto me, My father! the friend of my youth, art, thou?
5 അവിടന്ന് എപ്പോഴും കോപിക്കുമോ? അവിടത്തെ ക്രോധം എന്നേക്കും നിലനിൽക്കുമോ?’ എന്നു വിളിച്ചുപറയുകയില്ലേ? ഇപ്രകാരം സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്, കഴിയുന്നവിധത്തിലെല്ലാം നീ തിന്മ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.”
Will he maintain his anger to times age-abiding? Will he keep it perpetually? Lo! thou hast spoken thus but hast done wicked things and had thy way!
6 യോശിയാരാജാവിന്റെ ഭരണകാലത്ത് യഹോവ എന്നോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത്, “ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ അവിശ്വസ്തത നീ കണ്ടുവോ? അവൾ ഓരോ ഉയർന്ന മലയിലും കയറിപ്പോയി. ഓരോ ഇലതൂർന്ന മരത്തിൻകീഴിലും വേശ്യാവൃത്തി നടത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
And Yahweh said unto me, in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen what apostate Israel, did? She used to go upon every high mountain and beneath every green tree, and commit unchastity there.
7 ഇതെല്ലാം ചെയ്തതിനുശേഷവും അവൾ എന്റെ അടുക്കലേക്കു മടങ്ങിവരും എന്നു ഞാൻ കരുതി, എന്നാൽ അവൾ മടങ്ങിവന്നില്ല. അവളുടെ അവിശ്വസ്തയായ സഹോദരി, യെഹൂദ അതുകണ്ടു.
And I said, after she had been doing all these things, Unto me, shall thou return? and she returned not, —and her treacherous sister Judah saw it!
8 അവിശ്വസ്തയായ ഇസ്രായേൽ ചെയ്ത എല്ലാ വ്യഭിചാരത്തിന്റെയും ഫലമായി ഞാൻ അവളെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് അവൾക്ക് ഒരു ഉപേക്ഷണപത്രം കൊടുത്തു. ഇതു കണ്ടിട്ടും അവിശ്വസ്തയായ അവളുടെ സഹോദരി യെഹൂദാ ഭയപ്പെട്ടില്ല; അവളും പുറപ്പെട്ടു വ്യഭിചാരംചെയ്തു.
Though she saw that for all this, apostate Israel having committed adultery, I had sent her away, and had given a scroll of divorcement unto her, yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but, she also, went and committed unchastity.
9 ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ അസാന്മാർഗികത അവൾക്കു വെറും നിസ്സാരകാര്യമായി തോന്നിയതുകൊണ്ട്, അവളും ദേശത്തെ മലിനമാക്കി കല്ലിനോടും മരത്തോടും വ്യഭിചാരംചെയ്തു.
Yea though it had come to pass that through the levity of her unchastity, she had defiled the land, —and committed adultery with Stone and with Tree,
10 ഇതെല്ലാമായിട്ടും അവിശ്വസ്തയായ യെഹൂദാ എന്ന അവളുടെ സഹോദരി കാപട്യത്തോടെയല്ലാതെ പൂർണഹൃദയത്തോടെ എങ്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞില്ല,” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
yet, in spite of all this, her treacherous sister Judah returned not unto me, with all her heart, —but, falsely, Declareth Yahweh.
11 യഹോവ എന്നോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത്: “വിശ്വാസത്യാഗിയായ ഇസ്രായേൽ വഞ്ചകിയായ യെഹൂദയെക്കാൾ അധികം നീതിയുള്ളവൾ.
Then said Yahweh unto me, —Apostate Israel, hath justified herself, —more than treacherous Judah.
12 നീ പോയി വടക്കു ദിക്കിലേക്കു നോക്കി ഈ വചനങ്ങൾ വിളിച്ചുപറയുക: “‘വിശ്വാസത്യാഗിയായ ഇസ്രായേലേ, മടങ്ങിവരിക,’ എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു, ‘എന്റെ കോപം നിങ്ങളുടെമേൽ പതിക്കാൻ ഞാൻ അനുവദിക്കുകയില്ല, കാരണം ഞാൻ വിശ്വസ്തനാണ്, ഞാൻ എന്നേക്കും കോപം സംഗ്രഹിച്ചു വെക്കുകയില്ല,’ എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
Go, and proclaim these words, towards the North and say—Return! thou apostate—Israel, Urgeth Yahweh, I will not lower my face against you, —for full of lovingkindness, I am, Declareth Yahweh, I will not maintain [mine anger] unto times age-abiding.
13 ‘നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയ്ക്കെതിരേ നീ മത്സരിച്ച് ഓരോ ഇലതൂർന്ന മരത്തിൻകീഴിലും അന്യദേവതകളെ പ്രസാദിപ്പിച്ചു. എന്റെ ശബ്ദം നീ കേട്ടനുസരിച്ചില്ല എന്നുള്ള നിന്റെ കുറ്റം സമ്മതിക്കുകമാത്രം ചെയ്യുക,’” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
Only, acknowledge thine iniquity, that against Yahweh thy God, hast thou transgressed, —and hast gone hither and thither unto foreigners under every green tree, and unto my voice, ye have not hearkened Declareth Yahweh.
14 “അവിശ്വസ്തരായ മക്കളേ, മടങ്ങിവരിക,” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു. “ഞാനാണല്ലോ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭർത്താവ്. ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ—ഒരു പട്ടണത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഒരുവനെയും ഒരു കുടുംബത്തിൽനിന്ന് രണ്ടുപേരെയും വീതം—തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത് നിങ്ങളെ സീയോനിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവരും.
Return, ye apostate sons, Urgeth Yahweh, for, I, am become your husband, —therefore will I take you one of a city, and two of a family, and will bring you to Zion;
15 ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് എന്റെ ഹൃദയപ്രകാരമുള്ള ഇടയന്മാരെ നൽകും; അവർ നിങ്ങളെ ജ്ഞാനത്തോടും വിവേകത്തോടുംകൂടെ മേയിക്കും.
and will give you shepherds according to mine own heart, —who will feed you with knowledge and discretion.
16 ആ കാലത്ത് നിങ്ങൾ ദേശത്തു വർധിച്ചു പെരുകുമ്പോൾ, ‘യഹോവയുടെ ഉടമ്പടിയുടെ പേടകം,’ എന്ന് ജനം ഒരിക്കലും പറയുകയില്ല. അതിനെക്കുറിച്ച് ഓർക്കുംവിധം അതു ചിന്തയിൽ കടന്നുവരികയില്ല; അതിന്റെ അഭാവം അവർക്ക് അനുഭവപ്പെടുകയേ ഇല്ല; അതുപോലെ മറ്റൊന്ന് നിർമിക്കപ്പെടുകയുമില്ല, എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
And it shall come to pass when ye shall be multiplied and become fruitful in the land, in those days, Declareth Yahweh, They shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of Yahweh, Neither shall it come up on the heart, Neither shall they remember it, Neither shall they miss it, Neither shall it be made any more.
17 ആ കാലത്ത് അവർ ജെറുശലേമിനെ യഹോവയുടെ സിംഹാസനം എന്നു വിളിക്കും; സകലരാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളും ജെറുശലേമിലേക്ക് യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തോടുള്ള ആദരവുനിമിത്തം വന്നുചേരും. ഇനിയൊരിക്കലും അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ദുഷ്ടഹൃദയത്തിലെ പിടിവാശിക്കനുസരിച്ച് ജീവിക്കുകയില്ല.
At that time, shall they call Jerusalem, The throne of Yahweh, and there shall be gathered unto her all the nations—to the Name of Yahweh, to Jerusalem; and they shall walk no more after the stubbornness of their own wicked heart.
18 ആ ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ യെഹൂദാഗൃഹം ഇസ്രായേൽഗൃഹത്തോടുചേർന്ന്, അവർ ഒരുമിച്ചു വടക്കേ രാജ്യത്തുനിന്ന് ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്ക് അവകാശമായിക്കൊടുത്ത ദേശത്തേക്കു വരും.
In those days, shall the house of Judah go unto the house of Israel, —that they may enter together out of the land of the North, upon the land which I gave as an inheritance unto your fathers.
19 “ഞാൻ ഇങ്ങനെ ആത്മഗതംചെയ്തു, “‘എത്രസന്തോഷത്തോടെ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ എന്റെ മക്കളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തി ജനതകളുടെ മനോഹരാവകാശവും സൗഖ്യപൂർണവുമായ ദേശവും നൽകാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു.’ നിങ്ങൾ ‘എന്റെ അപ്പാ,’ എന്നു വിളിച്ച് എന്നെ വിട്ടുമാറാതെയിരിക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ ചിന്തിച്ചു.
Though, I myself, had said, —How can I put thee among the sons, And give thee a land to be coveted, An inheritance of beauty, of the hosts of nations? Yet I said, My father, shalt thou call me, And away from me, shalt thou not turn.
20 ഇസ്രായേൽഗൃഹമേ, ഒരു സ്ത്രീ തന്റെ ഭർത്താവിനെ വഞ്ചനാപൂർവം വിട്ടുമാറുന്നതുപോലെ വഞ്ചനാപൂർവം നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ വിട്ടുമാറിയിരിക്കുന്നു,” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
But indeed [as] a wife goeth treacherously from her husband, so, have ye acted treacherously with me, O house of Israel, Declareth Yahweh.
21 ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ വഴിപിഴച്ച ജീവിതം നയിച്ച് തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞതിനാൽ മൊട്ടക്കുന്നുകളിന്മേൽ അവരുടെ കരച്ചിൽ കേൾക്കുന്നു ഇസ്രായേൽജനത്തിന്റെ വിലാപത്തിന്റെയും യാചനയുടെയും ശബ്ദംതന്നെ.
A voice on the bare heights, is heard, The weeping of the supplications of the sons of Israel, —Because they have perverted their way, Have forgotten Yahweh their God.
22 “അവിശ്വസ്തരായ മക്കളേ, മടങ്ങിവരിക. ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ വിശ്വാസത്യാഗം സൗഖ്യമാക്കും.” “ഇതാ, ഞങ്ങൾ അങ്ങയുടെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നു; അങ്ങു ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.
Return ye apostate sons, I will heal your apostasies! Behold us! we have come unto thee, For thou, art Yahweh our God.
23 കുന്നുകളിന്മേലും മലകളിന്മേലുമുള്ള വിഗ്രഹാരാധകരുടെ തിക്കുംതിരക്കും നിശ്ചയമായും ഒരു വഞ്ചനയത്രേ; ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ രക്ഷ നിശ്ചയമായും നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിലാണ്.
Surely, to falsehood, pertain the hills The noisy throng on the mountains, —Surely, in Yahweh our God, is the salvation of Israel!
24 ഞങ്ങളുടെ യൗവനംമുതൽ ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ പ്രയത്നത്തെയും അവരുടെ ആടുകൾ, കന്നുകാലികൾ, പുത്രീപുത്രന്മാർ എന്നിവരെയും ലജ്ജാകരമായവ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
But, the Shameful thing, hath devoured the labour of our fathers from our youth: Their flocks, and their herds, their sons and their daughters.
25 ഞങ്ങൾ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ലജ്ജയിൽത്തന്നെ കിടക്കട്ടെ, ഞങ്ങളുടെ അപമാനം ഞങ്ങളെ മൂടട്ടെ. ഞങ്ങളും ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരും ഞങ്ങളുടെ യൗവനംമുതൽ ഇന്നുവരെയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോട് പാപംചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ ശബ്ദം ഞങ്ങൾ അനുസരിച്ചതുമില്ല.”
We must lie down in our shame And our reproach, be our covering, For, against Yahweh our God, have we sinned, We and our fathers, from our youth even until this day, —Neither have we hearkened unto the voice of Yahweh our God.
