യിരെമ്യാവു 25
1 യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യോശിയാവിന്റെ മകനായ യെഹോയാക്കീമിന്റെ നാലാമാണ്ടിൽ, ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസരിന്റെ ഒന്നാമാണ്ടിൽത്തന്നെ, എല്ലാ യെഹൂദാജനത്തെയുംപറ്റി യിരെമ്യാവിനുണ്ടായ അരുളപ്പാട്:
The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoyakim the son of Josiah the king of Judah, which is the first year of Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon;
2 അങ്ങനെ യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ അത് എല്ലാ യെഹൂദാജനത്തോടും ജെറുശലേംനിവാസികളായ എല്ലാവരോടും അറിയിച്ചത് ഇപ്രകാരമായിരുന്നു:
Which Jeremiah the prophet spoke concerning all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,
3 യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആമോന്റെ മകൻ യോശിയാവിന്റെ പതിമ്മൂന്നാംവർഷംമുതൽ ഇന്നുവരെയുള്ള ഈ ഇരുപത്തിമൂന്നു വർഷക്കാലവും യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട് എനിക്കുണ്ടാകുകയും ഞാൻ അതു വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു, എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ അതു ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചതേയില്ല.
From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon the king of Judah, even until this day, that is now three and twenty years, the word of the Lord hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.
4 യഹോവ തന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ എല്ലാ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെയും വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുകയോ കേൾക്കാൻ ചെവിചായ്‌ക്കുകയോ ചെയ്തില്ല.
And the Lord hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, making [them] rise early and sending [them]; but ye have not hearkened, and have not inclined your ear to hear.
5 “നിങ്ങളിൽ ഓരോരുത്തരും നിങ്ങളുടെ ദുഷിച്ചവഴികളിൽനിന്നും ദുരാചാരങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും തിരിയുക. അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്കും എന്നെന്നേക്കുമായി നൽകിയിട്ടുള്ള ദേശത്തു നിങ്ങൾക്കു വസിക്കാൻ കഴിയും.
They said, O do turn away every one from his evil way, and from the wrongfulness of your doings; and ye shall remain in the land that the Lord hath given unto you and to your fathers, for from eternity to eternity;
6 അന്യദേവതകളെ സേവിക്കാനോ ആരാധിക്കാനോ അവയുടെ പിന്നാലെ പോകരുത്. നിങ്ങളുടെ കൈകളുടെ നിർമിതികൊണ്ട് എന്നെ പ്രകോപിപ്പിക്കുകയുമരുത്. എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ഒരു അനർഥവും വരുത്തുകയില്ല,” എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവർ നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
And go not after other gods to serve them, and to bow down to them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will not injure you.
7 “എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടനുസരിച്ചില്ല, നിങ്ങളുടെതന്നെ ദോഷത്തിനായി നിങ്ങളുടെ കൈകളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾകൊണ്ട് എന്നെ കോപിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനുവേണ്ടി നിങ്ങൾ അപ്രകാരംചെയ്തു,” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
Yet have ye not hearkened unto me, saith the Lord: in order that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your own hands to your own injury.
8 അതിനാൽ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വചനം അനുസരിക്കാതിരിക്കുക നിമിത്തം,
Therefore thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Because ye have not hearkened to my words:
9 വടക്കുള്ള എല്ലാ ജനതകളെയും എന്റെ ദാസനായ ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസരിനെയും ഈ ദേശത്തിന്റെ നേരേയും അതിലെ നിവാസികളുടെ നേരേയും ചുറ്റുപാടുമുള്ള എല്ലാ രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെ നേരേയും അയച്ചിട്ട്, അവരെ നിശ്ശേഷം നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും. ഞാൻ അവരെ ഒരു സ്തംഭനവിഷയവും പരിഹാസവും നിത്യശൂന്യതയുമാക്കിത്തീർക്കും,” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the Lord, and to Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and I will bring them over this land, and over its inhabitants, and over all these nations round about, and I will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a derision, and perpetual ruins.
10 “മാത്രമല്ല, ഞാൻ ആഹ്ലാദാരവവും ആനന്ദധ്വനിയും മണവാളന്റെ സ്വരവും മണവാട്ടിയുടെ സ്വരവും തിരികല്ലിന്റെ ശബ്ദവും വിളക്കിന്റെ വെളിച്ചവും അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്ന് നീക്കിക്കളയും.
And I will banish from them the voice of gladness, and the voice of joy, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the mill, and the light of the lamp.
11 ഈ ദേശമൊന്നാകെ ശൂന്യതയും ഭീതിവിഷയവുമായിത്തീരും. ഈ ജനതകൾ ബാബേൽരാജാവിനെ എഴുപതുവർഷം സേവിക്കും എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
And this whole land shall become a ruin and an [object of] astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
12 “എന്നാൽ ആ എഴുപതുവർഷം തികയുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ ബാബേൽരാജാവിനെയും ആ ജനതയെയും ബാബേൽദേശത്തെയും അവരുടെ അകൃത്യം നിമിത്തം ശിക്ഷിക്കും. ഞാൻ അതിനെ എന്നെന്നേക്കും ഒരു ശൂന്യദേശമാക്കിത്തീർക്കും,” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are completed, that I will visit on the king of Babylon, and on that nation, saith the Lord, their iniquity, and on the land of the Chaldeans, and will change it into perpetual desolations.
13 “അതിനെതിരേ ഞാൻ പ്രസ്താവിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള എല്ലാ വചനങ്ങളും യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ എല്ലാ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾക്കുമെതിരെ പ്രവചിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതായി ഈ പുസ്തകത്തിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുള്ള സകലവചനങ്ങളും ഞാൻ ആ ദേശത്തിന്റെമേൽ വരുത്തും.
And I will bring over that land all my words which I have spoken concerning it, all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied concerning all the nations.
14 അനേകം രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളും മഹാന്മാരായ രാജാക്കന്മാരും അവരെ അടിമകളാക്കിത്തീർക്കും; ഞാൻ അവരുടെ കർമങ്ങൾക്കും അവരുടെ കൈകളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾക്കും തക്കവണ്ണം അവർക്കു പകരംചെയ്യും.”
For when many nations and great kings shall have made them also serve: I will then recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the work of their own hands.
15 ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ എന്നോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത് ഇപ്രകാരമാണ്: “എന്റെ ക്രോധമദ്യം അടങ്ങിയ ഈ പാനപാത്രം എന്റെ കൈയിൽനിന്നു വാങ്ങി, ഞാൻ ഏതെല്ലാം ജനതകളുടെ മധ്യത്തിലേക്കു നിന്നെ അയയ്ക്കുന്നുവോ അവരെയെല്ലാം അതു കുടിപ്പിക്കുക.
For thus hath said the Lord the God of Israel unto me, Take the cup of the wine of this fury out of my hand, and cause all the nations to whom I send thee to drink it.
16 അവർ അതു കുടിക്കുകയും ഞാൻ അവരുടെ ഇടയിലേക്ക് അയയ്ക്കുന്ന വാൾനിമിത്തം ചാഞ്ചാടി ഭ്രാന്തരായിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്യും.”
And they shall drink, and reel about, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.
17 അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ യഹോവയുടെ കൈയിൽനിന്ന് ആ പാനപാത്രം വാങ്ങി യഹോവ എന്നെ അയച്ച എല്ലാ ജനതകളെയും കുടിപ്പിച്ചു:
And I took the cup out of the hand of the Lord, and caused to drink all the nations, unto whom the Lord had sent me:
18 ജെറുശലേം, യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങൾ, രാജാക്കന്മാർ, പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ ഇവരെല്ലാം ഇന്ന് ആയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഒരു ശൂന്യതയും ഭീതിവിഷയവും പരിഹാസവും ശാപവും ആയിത്തീരേണ്ടതിന് അവരെ കുടിപ്പിച്ചു;
Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and its kings, and its princes, to make them a ruin, an astonishment, a derision, and a curse; as it is this day;
19 ഈജിപ്റ്റ് രാജാവായ ഫറവോൻ, അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ, പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ ഇവരെയും, അവന്റെ സകലജനത്തെയും
Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;
20 അവിടെയുള്ള എല്ലാ വിദേശജനതകളെയും കുടിപ്പിച്ചു; ഊസ് ദേശത്തിലെ സകലരാജാക്കന്മാരെയും അസ്കലോൻ, ഗസ്സാ, എക്രോൻ എന്നീ ഫെലിസ്ത്യദേശങ്ങളിലെ എല്ലാ രാജാക്കന്മാരെയും, അശ്ദോദിൽ ശേഷിക്കുന്ന ജനത്തെയും കുടിപ്പിച്ചു;
And all the confederated nations, and all the kings of the land of 'Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Gazzah, and 'Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod;
21 ഏദോമിനെയും മോവാബിനെയും അമ്മോന്യരെയും;
Edom, and Moab, and the children of 'Ammon;
22 സോർദേശത്തിലെയും സീദോൻദേശത്തിലെയും എല്ലാ രാജാക്കന്മാരെയും കുടിപ്പിച്ചു; സമുദ്രത്തിനക്കരെയുള്ള തീരദേശങ്ങളിലെ രാജാക്കന്മാരെയും;
And all the kings of Tyre, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isle which is beyond the sea;
23 ദേദാനെയും തേമായെയും ബൂസിനെയും തലയുടെ അരികു വടിക്കുന്നവരെ ഒക്കെയും കുടിപ്പിച്ചു;
Dedan, and Thema, and Buz, and all those that have their hair cut round;
24 അറേബ്യയിലെ എല്ലാ രാജാക്കന്മാരെയും മരുഭൂമിയിലുള്ള വിദേശരാജാക്കന്മാരെയും
And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the confederated nations that dwell in the wilderness;
25 സകലസിമ്രിരാജാക്കന്മാരെയും ഏലാമിലെയും മേദ്യയിലെയും സകലരാജാക്കന്മാരെയും കുടിപ്പിച്ചു;
And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of 'Elam, and all the kings of Media;
26 ഉത്തരദേശത്ത് അടുത്തും അകലെയുമുള്ള എല്ലാ രാജാക്കന്മാരെയും ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലലോകരാജാക്കന്മാരെയും കുടിപ്പിച്ചു; അവർക്കെല്ലാംശേഷം ശേശക്കുരാജാവും അതു കുടിക്കണം.
And all the kings of the north, that are far and that are near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth; and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.
27 “നീ അവരോട് ഇപ്രകാരം പറയണം: ‘ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: കുടിക്കുക, മദോന്മത്തരായി ഛർദിക്കുക; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിലേക്ക് അയയ്ക്കുന്ന വാൾനിമിത്തം പിന്നീട് എഴുന്നേൽക്കാതിരിക്കുംവിധം വീഴുക.’
And thou shalt say unto them, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Drink ye, and become drunken, and vomit, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword, which I am sending among you.
28 എന്നാൽ അവർ നിന്റെ കൈയിൽനിന്നു പാനപാത്രം വാങ്ങിക്കുടിക്കാൻ വിസമ്മതിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ നീ അവരോട് ഇപ്രകാരം പറയണം, ‘സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ ഇതു കുടിച്ചേ മതിയാവൂ!
And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup of thy hand to drink, that thou shalt say unto them, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Ye must certainly drink;
29 ഇതാ, എന്റെ നാമം വഹിക്കുന്ന ഈ നഗരത്തിന്മേൽ ഞാൻ നാശം വരുത്താൻപോകുന്നു; പിന്നെ നിങ്ങൾ ശിക്ഷ കൂടാതെ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുമോ? നിങ്ങൾ ശിക്ഷയിൽനിന്ന് ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുകയില്ല. ഞാൻ സകലഭൂവാസികളുടെമേലും ഒരു വാളിനെ അയയ്ക്കും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.’
For lo, on the city which is called by my name, I begin to inflict evil, and ye will remain utterly unpunished? Ye shall not remain unpunished; for a sword am I calling up over all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the Lord of hosts.
30 “അതുകൊണ്ട് നീ അവർക്കെതിരായി ഈ വചനങ്ങളൊക്കെയും പ്രവചിച്ച് അവരോടു പറയുക: “‘യഹോവ ഉന്നതത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഗർജിക്കുന്നു; അവിടന്നു തന്റെ വിശുദ്ധനിവാസത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഇടിമുഴക്കുകയും, തന്റെ ദേശത്തിനെതിരേ ഉച്ചത്തിൽ ഗർജിക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നു. മുന്തിരിച്ചക്കു ചവിട്ടുന്നവരെപ്പോലെ അവിടന്ന് അലറുന്നു, സകലഭൂവാസികളുടെയുംനേരേ അട്ടഹസിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
But thou, do thou prophesy concerning them all these words, and say unto them, The Lord will cry aloud from on high, and from his holy habitation will he send forth his voice; he will cry out very loudly over his habitation; the vintner's call, as they that tread out the grapes, will he lift up against all the inhabitants of the earth.
31 യഹോവ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾക്കെതിരേ കുറ്റം ആരോപിക്കുന്നതിനാൽ ആരവം ഭൂമിയുടെ അതിരുകൾവരെയും പ്രതിധ്വനിക്കുന്നു, അവിടന്നു സകലമനുഷ്യരുടെമേലും ന്യായവിധി അയയ്ക്കുകയും ദുഷ്ടരെ വാളിന് ഏൽപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു,’” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
A tumultuous noise cometh even to the ends of the earth; for the Lord hath a controversy with the nations, he holdeth judgment over all flesh: the wicked, —these he giveth up to the sword, saith the Lord.
32 സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഇതാ! അനർഥം രാഷ്ട്രത്തിൽനിന്നു രാഷ്ട്രത്തിലേക്ക് വ്യാപിക്കുന്നു. ഭൂമിയുടെ അറുതികളിൽനിന്ന് ഒരു വലിയ കൊടുങ്കാറ്റ് പൊട്ടിപ്പുറപ്പെടുന്നു.”
Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Behold, evil goeth forth from nation to nation, and a great storm-wind waketh up from the farthest ends of the earth.
33 ആ ദിവസത്തിൽ യഹോവയാൽ സംഹരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവർ ഭൂമിയുടെ ഒരറ്റംമുതൽ മറ്റേ അറ്റംവരെ എല്ലായിടത്തും വീണുകിടക്കും. അവരെക്കുറിച്ച് ആരും വിലപിക്കുകയില്ല. അവരെ ശേഖരിക്കുകയോ കുഴിച്ചിടുകയോ ചെയ്യുകയില്ല, എന്നാൽ അവർ നിലത്തിനു വളം എന്നപോലെ ആയിത്തീരും.
And the slain of the Lord shall be on that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, nor gathered up, nor buried; they shall be as dung upon the surface of the ground.
34 ഇടയന്മാരേ, കരയുകയും വിലപിക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുക; ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തിന്റെ അധിപതികളേ, ചാരത്തിൽക്കിടന്ന് ഉരുളുക. കാരണം നിങ്ങളെ കശാപ്പുചെയ്ത് എറിഞ്ഞുകളയുന്ന ദിവസം വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; നല്ലൊരു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റൻ വീഴുംപോലെ നീയും വീഴും.
Wail, ye shepherds, and cry; and roll yourselves about [in the dust], ye leaders of the flocks; for full are your days for you to be slaughtered, and I will scatter you; and you shall fall like a costly vessel.
35 ഇടയന്മാർക്ക് ഓടിപ്പോകാൻ വഴിയില്ലാതാകും, ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തിന്റെ നേതാക്കന്മാർക്കു രക്ഷപ്പെടാൻ മാർഗമുണ്ടാകുകയില്ല.
And lost shall be the place of refuge for the shepherds, and the escape for the leaders of the flocks to escape.
36 യഹോവ അവരുടെ ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തെ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയുന്നതിനാൽ ഇടയന്മാരുടെ നിലവിളിയും ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തിന്റെ നേതാക്കന്മാരുടെ വിലാപവും കേൾക്കുക.
There is the voice of the cry of anguish of the shepherds, and the wailing of the leaders of the flocks; for the Lord hath devastated their pasture.
37 യഹോവയുടെ ഉഗ്രകോപംനിമിത്തം സമാധാനത്തോടിരുന്ന മേച്ചിൽപ്പുറങ്ങൾ വിജനമാക്കപ്പെടും.
And in silent desolation lie the pasture-lands of peace, because of the fierceness of the anger of the Lord.
38 സിംഹക്കുട്ടി ഒളിവിടത്തുനിന്നു പുറത്തുവരുന്നതുപോലെ, അവരുടെ ദേശം വിജനമായിത്തീരും, പീഡകന്റെ വാൾകൊണ്ടും യഹോവയുടെ ഉഗ്രകോപംകൊണ്ടുംതന്നെ.
He hath forsaken his covert, like the young lion; for their land is become desolate, because of the fierceness of the wasting [sword], and because of the fierceness of his anger.
