യിരെമ്യാവു 17

1 “യെഹൂദയുടെ പാപം ഇരുമ്പെഴുത്താണികൊണ്ടും വജ്രമുനകൊണ്ടും എഴുതപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു, അത് അവരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ പലകമേലും അവരുടെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളിലും കൊത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, [and] with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the tablet of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;

2 അവരുടെ മക്കൾപോലും ഉയർന്ന മലകളിൽ ഇലതൂർന്ന മരങ്ങൾക്കരികെയുള്ള അവരുടെ ബലിപീഠങ്ങളെയും അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠകളെയും ഓർക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

whilst their children remember their altars and their Asherim by the green trees upon the high hills.

3 വയൽപ്രദേശത്തുള്ള എന്റെ പർവതമേ, രാജ്യത്തെമ്പാടുമുള്ള പാപംനിമിത്തം നിന്റെ ധനവും എല്ലാ നിക്ഷേപങ്ങളും നിന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളോടൊപ്പം ഞാൻ കൊള്ളമുതലായി കൊടുക്കും.

O my mountain in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures for a spoil, [and] thy high places, because of sin, throughout all thy borders.

4 ഞാൻ നിനക്കുതന്ന അവകാശത്തെ നീ വിട്ടുപോകേണ്ടിവരും. നീ അറിയാത്ത ദേശത്ത് നീ നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ സേവിക്കാൻ ഞാൻ ഇടവരുത്തും, കാരണം എന്റെ കോപത്തിൽ നിങ്ങൾ ഒരു തീ ജ്വലിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, അതു നിത്യം എരിഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും.”

And thou, even of thyself, shalt discontinue from thy heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger which shall burn for ever.

5 യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “മനുഷ്യനിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവർ ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവർ, മനുഷ്യന്റെ ശക്തിയിൽ വിശ്വാസമർപ്പിക്കുകയും ഹൃദയത്തിൽ യഹോവയെ വിട്ടകലുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നവർതന്നെ.

Thus saith Jehovah: Cursed is the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from Jehovah.

6 അങ്ങനെയുള്ളവർ മരുഭൂമിയിലെ ചൂരൽച്ചെടിപോലെയായിത്തീരും; അഭിവൃദ്ധിവരുമ്പോൾ അവർ അതു കാണുകയില്ല. മരുഭൂമിയിൽ നിവാസികളില്ലാത്ത ഉപ്പുനിലങ്ങളിലും വരണ്ടപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും അവർ പാർക്കും.

For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh, but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, a salt land and not inhabited.

7 “എന്നാൽ യഹോവയിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുകയും യഹോവയെത്തന്നെ ആശ്രയമാക്കിയിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവർ അനുഗൃഹീതർ.

Blessed is the man that trusteth in Jehovah, and whose trust Jehovah is.

8 അവർ വെള്ളത്തിനരികെ നട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതും ആറ്റരികത്തു വേരൂന്നിയിരിക്കുന്നതുമായ വൃക്ഷംപോലെയാകും. ഉഷ്ണം വരുമ്പോൾ അതു പേടിക്കുകയില്ല; അതിന്റെ ഇല നിത്യഹരിതമായിരിക്കും. വരൾച്ചയുള്ള വർഷത്തിലും അതു വാട്ടം തട്ടാതെ ഫലം കായ്ച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും.”

For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, that spreadeth out its roots by the river, and shall not fear when heat cometh, but its leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

9 ഹൃദയം എല്ലാറ്റിനെക്കാളും കാപട്യമുള്ളതും സൗഖ്യമാക്കാൻ കഴിയാത്തതുമാണ്. ആർക്കാണ് അതിനെ ഗ്രഹിക്കാൻ കഴിയുക?

The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it?

10 “ഓരോരുത്തർക്കും അവരവരുടെ പെരുമാറ്റത്തിനും അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾക്കും അനുസരിച്ചു പ്രതിഫലം നൽകുന്നതിന് യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ ഹൃദയത്തെ പരിശോധിക്കുകയും മനസ്സിനെ പരീക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.”

I, Jehovah, search the mind, I try the heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.

11 അന്യായമായി ധനം സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നവർ ഇടാത്ത മുട്ടയ്ക്കു പൊരുന്നയിരിക്കുന്ന തിത്തിരിപ്പക്ഷിയെപ്പോലെയാണ്. തന്റെ ആയുസ്സിന്റെ മധ്യത്തിലെത്തുമ്പോൾ, അവരുടെ ധനം അവരെ വിട്ടുപോകും, ഒടുവിൽ അവർ ഭോഷരായിരുന്നു എന്നു തെളിയും.

As the partridge that sitteth on [eggs] which she hath not laid, so is he that getteth riches, and not by right; in the midst of his days they shall leave him, and at his end he shall be a fool.

12 തേജസ്സേറിയ സിംഹാസനം, ആദിമുതൽതന്നെ ഉന്നതമായ ഒരു സ്ഥാനം, അതാണ് നമ്മുടെ അഭയസ്ഥാനം.

A glorious throne, [set] on high from the beginning, is the place of our sanctuary.

13 ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ പ്രത്യാശയായ യഹോവേ, അങ്ങയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുപോകുന്ന എല്ലാവരും ലജ്ജിതരാകും. അങ്ങയെ വിട്ടുപോകുന്നവരെല്ലാം മണ്ണിൽ എഴുതപ്പെടും കാരണം, ജീവജലത്തിന്റെ ഉറവയായ യഹോവയെ അവർ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞല്ലോ.

O Jehovah, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be put to shame. They that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken Jehovah, the fountain of living waters.

14 യഹോവേ, എന്നെ സൗഖ്യമാക്കണമേ, എന്നാൽ എനിക്കു സൗഖ്യം ലഭിക്കും; എന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കണമേ, എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ രക്ഷപ്പെടും, കാരണം അങ്ങാണ് എന്റെ പുകഴ്ച്ചയായിരിക്കുന്നത്.

Heal me, O Jehovah, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.

15 “യഹോവയുടെ വചനം എവിടെ? അതു നിവർത്തിയാകട്ടെ!” എന്ന് അവർ എന്നോടു പറയുന്നു.

Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of Jehovah? let it come now.

16 ഞാനോ അങ്ങയുടെ ഒരു ഇടയന്റെ ഉത്തരവാദിത്വം ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചോടിയില്ല; നൈരാശ്യത്തിന്റെ ദിനം ഞാൻ ആശിച്ചുമില്ല എന്ന് അങ്ങ് അറിയുന്നു. എന്റെ അധരങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് പുറപ്പെട്ട വാക്കുകൾ അവിടത്തെ സന്നിധിയിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

As for me, I have not hastened from being a shepherd after thee; neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was before thy face.

17 അങ്ങ് എനിക്കൊരു ഭീതിവിഷയമാകരുതേ; അനർഥകാലത്ത് അങ്ങ് എന്റെ സങ്കേതം ആകുന്നുവല്ലോ.

Be not a terror unto me: thou art my refuge in the day of evil.

18 എന്റെ പീഡകർ ലജ്ജിക്കട്ടെ, എന്നാൽ എന്നെ ലജ്ജിപ്പിക്കരുതേ; അവർ സംഭീതരാകട്ടെ, എന്നാൽ എന്നെ ഭീതിയിലാകാൻ അനുവദിക്കരുതേ. ഒരു അനർഥദിവസം അവരുടെമേൽ വരുത്തണമേ; ഇരട്ടിയായ നാശംകൊണ്ട് അവരെ തകർത്തുകളയണമേ.

Let them be put to shame that persecute me, but let not me be put to shame; let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed; bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.

19 യഹോവ എന്നോട് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു: “നീ പോയി, യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാർ അകത്തേക്കു വരികയും പുറത്തേക്കു പോകുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ജനത്തിന്റെ കവാടത്തിലും ജെറുശലേമിന്റെ എല്ലാ കവാടങ്ങളിലും നിന്നുകൊണ്ട്,

Thus said Jehovah unto me: Go, and stand in the gate of the children of the people, whereby the kings of Judah come in, and by which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem;

20 അവരോട് ഇപ്രകാരം പറയുക: ‘ഈ കവാടങ്ങളിലൂടെ പ്രവേശിക്കുന്ന യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരേ, സകല യെഹൂദാജനങ്ങളേ, എല്ലാ ജെറുശലേംനിവാസികളേ, നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേൾക്കുക.

and say unto them, Hear ye the word of Jehovah, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates:

21 യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ശബ്ബത്തുദിവസത്തിൽ യാതൊരു ചുമടും ചുമക്കാതെയും ജെറുശലേം കവാടങ്ങളിലൂടെ യാതൊരു ചുമടും അകത്തേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകാതെയും സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ളുക.

Thus saith Jehovah, Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;

22 നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭവനങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന്, ശബ്ബത്തുനാളിൽ, യാതൊരു ചുമടും പുറത്തേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകാതെയും യാതൊരു വേലയും ചെയ്യാതെയും, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പൂർവികന്മാരോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ശബ്ബത്തുനാളിനെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുക.

neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work: but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers.

23 എന്നാൽ അവർ ഈ കൽപ്പന ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുകയോ അതിനു ചെവിചായ്‌ക്കുകയോ ചെയ്തില്ല; അവർ കേട്ടനുസരിക്കാതെയും ഉപദേശം കൈക്കൊള്ളാതെയും ദുശ്ശാഠ്യമുള്ളവരായിത്തീർന്നു.

But they hearkened not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, and might not receive instruction.

24 നിങ്ങൾ ജാഗ്രതയോടെ എന്റെ വചനം ശ്രദ്ധിച്ച് ശബ്ബത്തുനാളിൽ ഈ നഗരകവാടങ്ങളിലൂടെ യാതൊരു ചുമടും കൊണ്ടുപോകാതെ ശബ്ബത്തിനെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുകയും അന്നു യാതൊരു വേലയും ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമെങ്കിൽ,

And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto me, saith Jehovah, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but to hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein;

25 ദാവീദിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഉപവിഷ്ടരായിരിക്കുന്ന രാജാക്കന്മാർ അവരുടെ അധികാരികളുമായി ഈ കവാടത്തിലൂടെ വന്നുചേരും. അവരും അവരുടെ അധികാരികളും യെഹൂദാഗോത്രത്തിലെ പുരുഷന്മാരും ജെറുശലേംനിവാസികളും ഒരുമിച്ച് രഥങ്ങളിലും കുതിരപ്പുറത്തും സവാരിചെയ്ത് ഈ നഗരത്തിൽ വന്നുചേരും. അത് എന്നേക്കും ജനവാസമുള്ളതായി തീരുകയും ചെയ്യും, എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.

then shall there enter in by the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and this city shall remain for ever.

26 അവർ യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും ജെറുശലേമിനു ചുറ്റുമുള്ള ഗ്രാമങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും ബെന്യാമീൻദേശത്തുനിന്നും പശ്ചിമഭാഗത്തെ കുന്നിൻപ്രദേശത്തുനിന്നും ദക്ഷിണദേശത്തുനിന്നും ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും ഹനനയാഗങ്ങളും ഭോജനയാഗങ്ങളും സുഗന്ധവർഗവും കൊണ്ടുവരും. യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ അവർ സ്തോത്രയാഗങ്ങളും അർപ്പിക്കും.

And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places round about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the lowland, and from the hill-country, and from the South, bringing burnt-offerings, and sacrifices, and meal-offerings, and frankincense, and bringing [sacrifices of] thanksgiving, unto the house of Jehovah.

27 എന്നാൽ ശബ്ബത്തുനാളിനെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കാനും ജെറുശലേമിന്റെ കവാടങ്ങളിലൂടെ ചുമടു ചുമന്നുകൊണ്ടുപോകാതിരിക്കാനും നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വാക്കുകേട്ട് അനുസരിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ അതിന്റെ കവാടങ്ങളിൽ തീ കൊളുത്തുകയും അതു കെട്ടുപോകാതെ ജെറുശലേമിലെ കൊട്ടാരങ്ങളെ ദഹിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.’”

But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden and enter in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.
