യിരെമ്യാവു 16

1 അതിനുശേഷം യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട് എനിക്കുണ്ടായി:

And thou shalt not take a wife, saith the Lord God of Israel:

2 “നീ ഒരു ഭാര്യയെ എടുക്കരുത്, നിനക്ക് ഇവിടെ പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും ഉണ്ടാകുകയും അരുത്.”

and there shall be no son born to thee, nor daughter in this place.

3 കാരണം ഈ സ്ഥലത്തു ജനിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും അവരെ പ്രസവിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള അമ്മമാരെയും ഈ സ്ഥലത്ത് അവർക്കു ജന്മംനൽകിയ പിതാക്കന്മാരെയും സംബന്ധിച്ച് യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു:

For thus saith the Lord concerning the sons and concerning the daughters that are born in this place, and concerning their mothers that have born them, and concerning their fathers that have begotten them in this land;

4 “അവർ മാരകരോഗങ്ങളാൽ മരിക്കും. അവരെക്കുറിച്ച് ആരും വിലപിക്കുകയോ അവരെ ആരും അടക്കംചെയ്യുകയോ ഇല്ല. അവർ ഭൂമുഖത്തിനു വളമായിച്ചേരും. അവർ വാളിനാലും ക്ഷാമത്താലും നശിച്ചുപോകും. അവരുടെ ശവങ്ങൾ ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവകൾക്കും ഭൂമിയിലെ മൃഗങ്ങൾക്കും ആഹാരമായിത്തീരും.”

They shall die of grievous death; they shall not be lamented, nor buried; they shall be for an example on the face of the earth; and they shall be for the wild beasts of the land, and for the birds of the sky: they shall fall by the sword, and shall be consumed with famine.

5 യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “അവർക്കുവേണ്ടി വിലാപഭവനത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കരുത്; അവർക്കുവേണ്ടി വിലപിക്കുകയോ സഹതപിക്കുകയോ അരുത്. കാരണം ഞാൻ ഈ ജനത്തിൽനിന്ന് എന്റെ സമാധാനവും അചഞ്ചലസ്നേഹവും അനുകമ്പയും നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു,” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.

Thus saith the Lord, Enter not into their mourning feast, and go not to lament, and mourn not for them: for I have removed my peace from this people.

6 “ഈ ദേശത്തിലെ വലിയവരും ചെറിയവരും മരണമടയും; അവരെ അടക്കംചെയ്യുകയില്ല, ജനം അവർക്കുവേണ്ടി വിലപിക്കുകയോ സ്വയം മുറിവേൽപ്പിക്കുകയോ അവരുടെ തല ക്ഷൗരംചെയ്യുകയോ ഇല്ല.

They shall not bewail them, nor make cuttings for them, and they shall not shave themselves [for them]:

7 മരിച്ചവരെക്കുറിച്ചു വിലപിക്കുന്നവരെ—സ്വന്തം മാതാവിനോ പിതാവിനോവേണ്ടി ആണെങ്കിൽപോലും—ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കാനായി ആരും അവർക്ക് അപ്പം നുറുക്കി കൊടുക്കുകയില്ല, ആശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ പാനപാത്രം നൽകുകയുമില്ല.

and there shall be no bread broken in mourning for them for consolation over the dead: they shall not give one to drink a cup for consolation over his father or his mother.

8 “അവരോടൊപ്പം ഇരുന്ന് ഭക്ഷിച്ചു പാനംചെയ്യുന്നതിനായി നീ വിരുന്നുവീട്ടിലേക്കു പോകരുത്.

Thou shalt not enter into the banquet-house, to sit with them to eat and to drink.

9 കാരണം ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഇതാ, നിങ്ങൾ കാൺകെ, ഞാൻ ഈ സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്ന് നിങ്ങളുടെ കാലത്തുതന്നെ ആഹ്ലാദശബ്ദവും ആനന്ദധ്വനിയും മണവാളന്റെ ശബ്ദവും മണവാട്ടിയുടെ ശബ്ദവും ഇല്ലാതെയാക്കും.

For thus saith the Lord God of Israel; Behold, I [will] make to cease out of this place before your eyes, and in your days, the voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride.

10 “നീ ഈ വാക്കുകളൊക്കെയും ഈ ജനത്തോടു സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോൾ, അവർ നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കും, ‘യഹോവ ഞങ്ങൾക്കെതിരേ ഈ വലിയ അനർഥങ്ങൾ ഒക്കെയും കൽപ്പിച്ചത് എന്തുകൊണ്ട്? ഞങ്ങൾ ചെയ്ത തെറ്റ് എന്ത്? ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയ്ക്കെതിരേ ഞങ്ങൾ ചെയ്ത പാപമെന്ത്?’

And it shall come to pass, when thou shalt report to this people all these words, and they shall say to thee, Wherefore has the Lord pronounced against us all these evils? what is our unrighteousness? and what is our sin which we have sinned before the Lord our God?

11 അപ്പോൾ നീ അവരോട് ഇങ്ങനെ ഉത്തരം പറയണം: ‘നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ എന്നെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് അന്യദേവതകളെ ആശ്രയിച്ച് അവയെ സേവിക്കുകയും ആരാധിക്കുകയും എന്നെ പരിത്യജിച്ച് എന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അനുസരിക്കാതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ, എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

Then thou shalt say to them, Because your fathers forsook me, saith the Lord, and went after strange gods and served them, and worshipped them, and forsook me, and kept not my law;

12 എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെക്കാൾ അധികം ദോഷം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു. നിങ്ങൾ ഓരോരുത്തരും എന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ അനുസരിക്കാതെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദുഷ്ടഹൃദയത്തിലെ ആഗ്രഹമനുസരിച്ചു ജീവിക്കുന്നു.

(and ye sinned worse than your fathers; for, behold, ye walk every one after the lusts of your own evil heart, so as not to hearken to me);

13 അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ ഈ രാജ്യത്തുനിന്നു ഭ്രഷ്ടരാക്കും, നിങ്ങളോ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോ അറിയാത്ത ഒരു അന്യദേശത്തേക്ക് അയച്ചുകളയും. അവിടെ നിങ്ങൾ രാപകൽ അന്യദേവതകളെ സേവിക്കും; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു യാതൊരു ദയയും കാണിക്കുകയുമില്ല.’

therefore I will cast you off from this good land into a land which neither ye nor your fathers have known; and ye shall serve their other gods, who shall have no mercy upon you.

14 “അതിനാൽ, ‘ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കളെ ഈജിപ്റ്റുദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന ജീവിക്കുന്ന യഹോവയാണെ, എന്ന് ഇനിയും പറയാതെ

Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when they shall no more say, The Lord lives, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;

15 ഉത്തരദേശത്തുനിന്നും യഹോവ അവരെ നാടുകടത്തിയിരുന്ന എല്ലാ ദേശങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കളെ കൊണ്ടുവന്ന ജീവിക്കുന്ന യഹോവയാണെ,’ എന്നു പറയുന്ന കാലം വരുന്നു; ഞാൻ അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്കു കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന അവരുടെ ദേശത്തേക്ക് ഞാൻ അവരെ വീണ്ടും കൊണ്ടുവരും.

but, The Lord lives, who brought up the house of Israel from the land of the north, and from all countries whither they were thrust out: and I will restore them to their own land, which I gave to their fathers.

16 “എന്നാൽ ഇപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ അനേകം മീൻപിടിത്തക്കാരെ അയയ്ക്കും, അവർ അവരെ പിടിക്കും. അതിനുശേഷം ഞാൻ അനേകം നായാട്ടുകാരെ അയയ്ക്കും, അവർ അവരെ എല്ലാ മലയിൽനിന്നും കുന്നിൽനിന്നും പാറപ്പിളർപ്പുകളിൽനിന്നും വേട്ടയാടിപ്പിടിക്കും,” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.

Behold, I [will] send many fishers, saith the Lord, and they shall fish them; and afterward I will send many hunters, and they shall hunt them upon every mountain, and upon every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.

17 “എന്റെ കണ്ണുകൾ അവരുടെ എല്ലാ വഴികളിന്മേലും ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നില്ല; അവരുടെ അനീതി എന്റെ കണ്ണുകൾക്കു മറവായിരിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

For mine eyes are upon all their ways; and their iniquities have not been hidden from mine eyes.

18 അവർ എന്റെ ദേശം മലിനമാക്കുകയും അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ മലിനവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളുടെ ജീവനില്ലാത്ത രൂപങ്ങളാലും മ്ലേച്ഛവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളാലും എന്റെ അവകാശത്തെ നിറയ്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതിനാൽ, ഞാൻ അവരുടെ ദുഷ്ടതയ്ക്കും പാപത്തിനും ഇരട്ടി പകരംചെയ്യും.”

And I will recompense their mischiefs doubly, and their sins, whereby they have profaned my land with the carcases of their abominations, and with their iniquities, whereby they have trespassed against mine inheritance.

19 എന്റെ ബലവും എന്റെ കോട്ടയും കഷ്ടകാലത്ത് എന്റെ സങ്കേതവുമായ യഹോവേ, ഭൂമിയുടെ അറുതികളിൽനിന്ന് രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾ അങ്ങയുടെ അടുക്കൽവന്ന്, “തീർച്ചയായും ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ വ്യാജദേവതകളല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നും അവകാശമാക്കിയിരുന്നില്ല, നിഷ്‌പ്രയോജനമായിരുന്ന മിഥ്യാമൂർത്തികളെത്തന്നെ, എന്നു പറയും.

O Lord, thou art my strength, and mine help, and my refuge in days of evil: to thee the Gentiles shall come from the end of the earth, and shall say, How vain [were the] idols [which] our fathers procured to themselves, and there is no help in them.

20 ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ തനിക്കായിത്തന്നെ ദേവതകളെ നിർമിക്കുമോ? അതേ, എന്നാൽ അവ ദേവതകളല്ലാതാനും!”

Will a man make gods for himself, whereas these are no gods?

21 “അതിനാൽ ഞാൻ അവരെ പഠിപ്പിക്കും— എന്റെ ഭുജവും എന്റെ ശക്തിയും ഈ പ്രാവശ്യം ഞാൻ അവരെ പഠിപ്പിക്കും. എന്റെ നാമം യഹോവ എന്ന് അവർ അപ്പോൾ അറിയും.

Therefore, behold, I will at this time manifest my hand to them, and will make known to them my power; and they shall know that my name is the Lord.
