യെശയ്യാവ് 53

1 ഞങ്ങളുടെ സന്ദേശം ആർ വിശ്വസിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു? യഹോവയുടെ ഭുജം ആർക്കു വെളിപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു?

Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?

2 അവൻ ഇളംനാമ്പുപോലെയും ഉണങ്ങിയ നിലത്തുനിന്നു പിഴുതെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട വേരുപോലെയും അവിടത്തെ മുമ്പാകെ വളരും. അവനു രൂപഭംഗിയോ കോമളത്വമോ ആകർഷകമായ സൗന്ദര്യമോ ഇല്ല, കാഴ്ചയിൽ ഹൃദയാവർജകമായി യാതൊന്നുംതന്നെ അവനിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.

And he shall grow up as a tender plant before him, and as a root out of a thirsty ground: there is no beauty in him, nor comeliness: and we have seen him, and there was no sightliness, that we should be desirous of him:

3 അവൻ മനുഷ്യരാൽ നിന്ദിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു; അവൻ കഷ്ടത അനുഭവിക്കുന്നവനായും രോഗം ശീലിച്ചവനായും ഇരുന്നു. അവനെ കാണുന്നവർ അവരുടെ മുഖം തിരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു, അവൻ നിന്ദിതനായിരുന്നു, നാം അവനെ നിസ്സാരനായി പരിഗണിച്ചു.

Despised, and the most abject of men, a man of sorrows, and acquainted with infirmity: and his look was as it were hidden and despised, whereupon we esteemed him not.

4 നിശ്ചയമായും അവൻ നമ്മുടെ രോഗങ്ങളെ വഹിച്ചു, നമ്മുടെ വേദനകളെ അവൻ ചുമന്നു. ദൈവമാണ് അവനെ ശിക്ഷിച്ചതും അടിച്ചതും പീഡിപ്പിച്ചതും എന്നു നാം കരുതി.

Surely he hath borne our infirmities and carried our sorrows: and we have thought him as it were a leper, and as one struck by God and afflicted.

5 എന്നാൽ നമ്മുടെ ലംഘനങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടിയാണ് അവൻ മുറിവേറ്റത്, നമ്മുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങൾനിമിത്തമാണ് അവൻ തകർക്കപ്പെട്ടത്. നമ്മുടെ സമാധാനത്തിനുവേണ്ടിയുള്ള ശിക്ഷ അവന്റെമേൽ പതിച്ചു, അവൻ സഹിച്ച മുറിവുകളാൽ നാം സൗഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

But he was wounded for our iniquities, he was bruised for our sins: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and by his bruises we are healed.

6 നാമെല്ലാവരും ആടുകളെപ്പോലെ തെറ്റിയലഞ്ഞിരുന്നു, നാമോരോരുത്തനും നമ്മുടെ സ്വന്തം വഴിക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു; എന്നാൽ യഹോവ നമ്മുടെയെല്ലാവരുടെയും അകൃത്യം അവന്റെമേൽ ചുമത്തി.

All we like sheep have gone astray, every one hath turned aside into his own way: and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

7 അവൻ മർദനമേൽക്കുകയും പീഡനം സഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു, എന്നിട്ടും അവൻ നിശ്ശബ്ദനായിരുന്നു; അറക്കാൻ കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്ന ഒരു കുഞ്ഞാടിനെപ്പോലെ അവൻ ആനീതനായി, രോമം കത്രിക്കുന്നവർക്കു മുമ്പിൽ മൗനമായി നിൽക്കുന്ന ചെമ്മരിയാടിനെപോലെ അവൻ വായ് തുറക്കാതിരുന്നു.

He was offered because it was his own will, and he opened not his mouth: he shall be led as a sheep to the slaughter, and shall be dumb as a lamb before his shearer, and he shall not open his mouth.

8 പീഡനത്താലും ശിക്ഷാവിധിയാലും അവൻ എടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു. ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ മധ്യേനിന്നും അവൻ ഛേദിക്കപ്പെട്ടുവെന്നും എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ അതിക്രമങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി അവൻ ദണ്ഡനമേറ്റുവെന്നും അവന്റെ തലമുറയിൽ ആർ കരുതി?

He was taken away from distress, and from judgment: who shall declare his generation? because he is cut off out of the land of the living: for the wickedness of my people have I struck him.

9 അവൻ യാതൊരു അതിക്രമവും ചെയ്തില്ല, അവന്റെ വായിൽ യാതൊരു വഞ്ചനയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല. അവർ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരോടൊപ്പം അവനു ശവക്കുഴി നൽകി. തന്റെ മരണത്തിൽ അവൻ സമ്പന്നന്മാരോടൊപ്പം ആയിരുന്നു.

And he shall give the ungodly for his burial, and the rich for his death: because he hath done no iniquity, neither was there deceit in his mouth.

10 എങ്കിലും അവനെ തകർത്തുകളയുന്നതിനും കഷ്ടതവരുത്തുന്നതിനും യഹോവയ്ക്ക് ഇഷ്ടം തോന്നി. അവന്റെ പ്രാണൻ ഒരു അകൃത്യയാഗമായിത്തീർന്നിട്ട് അവൻ സന്തതിയെ കാണുകയും ദീർഘായുസ്സ് പ്രാപിക്കുകയും യഹോവയുടെ ഇഷ്ടം അവന്റെ കൈയാൽ നിറവേറുകയും ചെയ്യും.

And the Lord was pleased to bruise him in infirmity: if he shall lay down his life for sin, he shall see a long-lived seed, and the will of the Lord shall be prosperous in his hand.

11 അവന്റെ പീഡാനുഭവത്തിനുശേഷം അവൻ ജീവന്റെ പ്രകാശം കണ്ട് സംതൃപ്തനാകും; തന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനത്താൽ നീതിമാനായ എന്റെ ദാസൻ പലരെയും നീതീകരിക്കും, അവരുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങളെ അവൻ വഹിക്കും.

Because his soul hath laboured, he shall see and be filled: by his knowledge shall this my just servant justify many, and he shall bear their iniquities.

12 അതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ അവനു മഹാന്മാരോടൊപ്പം അവകാശം കൊടുക്കും, ശക്തരോടുകൂടെ അവൻ കൊള്ളമുതൽ പങ്കുവെക്കും, അവൻ തന്റെ പ്രാണനെ മരണത്തിന് ഒഴുക്കിക്കളകയും അധർമികളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ എണ്ണപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തതിനാൽത്തന്നെ. കാരണം അവൻ അനേകരുടെ പാപം വഹിക്കുകയും അതിക്രമക്കാർക്കുവേണ്ടി മധ്യസ്ഥത വഹിക്കുകയുംചെയ്തല്ലോ.

Therefore will I distribute to him very many, and he shall divide the spoils of the strong, because he hath delivered his soul unto death, and was reputed with the wicked: and he hath borne the sins of many, and hath prayed for the transgressors.
