യെശയ്യാവ് 40
1 “ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുക, എന്റെ ജനത്തെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുക,” എന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, will your God say.
2 “ജെറുശലേമിനോടു ദയാപൂർവം സംസാരിച്ച് അവളുടെ യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ കാലം കഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു, അവളുടെ അകൃത്യം ക്ഷമിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു, അവളുടെ എല്ലാ പാപങ്ങൾക്കും യഹോവയുടെ കൈയിൽനിന്ന് ഇരട്ടി ശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിച്ചുകഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു,” എന്നും അവളോടു വിളിച്ചുപറയുക.
Speake comfortably to Ierusalem, and crye vnto her, that her warrefare is accomplished, that her iniquitie is pardoned: for she hath receiued of the Lords hand double for all her sinnes.
3 മരുഭൂമിയിൽ വിളംബരംചെയ്യുന്ന ശബ്ദം: “മരുഭൂമിയിൽ യഹോവയ്ക്കുവേണ്ടി പാത നേരേയാക്കുക; നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന് ഒരു രാജവീഥി നിരപ്പാക്കുക.
A voyce cryeth in the wildernesse, Prepare ye the way of the Lord: make streight in the desert a path for our God.
4 എല്ലാ താഴ്വരകളും ഉയർത്തപ്പെടും എല്ലാ പർവതങ്ങളും കുന്നുകളും താഴ്ത്തപ്പെടും; നിരപ്പില്ലാത്തതു നിരപ്പായിത്തീരട്ടെ, കഠിനപ്രതലങ്ങൾ ഒരു സമതലഭൂമിയായും.
Euery valley shall be exalted, and euery mountaine and hill shall be made lowe: and the crooked shalbe streight, and the rough places plaine.
5 യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സ് വെളിപ്പെടും, എല്ലാ മനുഷ്യരും അത് ഒരുമിച്ചു കാണും. യഹോവയുടെ വായ് അത് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.”
And the glory of the Lord shalbe reueiled, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
6 “വിളിച്ചുപറയുക,” എന്നൊരു ശബ്ദമുണ്ടായി. അപ്പോൾ, “എന്തു വിളിച്ചുപറയണം?” എന്നു ഞാൻ ചോദിച്ചു. “എല്ലാ മാനവരും തൃണസമാനരും അവരുടെ അസ്തിത്വം വയലിലെ പൂപോലെയും.
A voyce saide, Crie. And he saide, What shall I crie? All flesh is grasse, and all the grace thereof is as the floure of the fielde.
7 യഹോവയുടെ ശ്വാസം അവരുടെമേൽ അടിക്കുമ്പോൾ പുല്ലു വാടുന്നു, പൂക്കൾ കൊഴിയുന്നു; മനുഷ്യൻ പുല്ലുതന്നെ, നിശ്ചയം.
The grasse withereth, the floure fadeth, because the Spirite of the Lord bloweth vpon it: surely the people is grasse.
8 പുല്ല് ഉണങ്ങുന്നു, പൂക്കൾ കൊഴിയുന്നു; നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വചനമോ ചിരകാലത്തേക്കുമുള്ളത്.”
The grasse withereth, the floure fadeth: but the worde of our God shall stand for euer.
9 സീയോനിലേക്കു സദ്വാർത്ത കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നവരേ, ഒരു ഉയർന്ന പർവതത്തിലേക്കു കയറിച്ചെല്ലുക. ജെറുശലേമിലേക്കു സദ്വാർത്ത കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നവരേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ ശബ്ദം ശക്തിയോടെ ഉയർത്തുക. ഭയപ്പെടാതെ ശബ്ദമുയർത്തുക; “ഇതാ, നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവം!” എന്ന് യെഹൂദ്യയിലെ നഗരങ്ങളോടു പറയുക.
O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee vp into the hie mountaine: O Ierusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift vp thy voyce with strength: lift it vp, be not afraide: say vnto the cities of Iudah, Beholde your God.
10 ഇതാ, യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് ശക്തിയോടെ വരുന്നു, അവിടന്ന് ശക്തിയുള്ള ഭുജത്താൽ ഭരണം നടത്തുന്നു. ഇതാ, പ്രതിഫലം അവിടത്തെ പക്കലും പാരിതോഷികം അവിടത്തെ കൈയിലും ഉണ്ട്.
Beholde, the Lord God will come with power, and his arme shall rule for him: beholde, his rewarde is with him, and his worke before him,
11 ഒരു ഇടയനെപ്പോലെ അവിടന്നു തന്റെ ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തെ മേയിക്കുന്നു: അവിടന്നു കുഞ്ഞാടുകളെ തന്റെ കൈകളിലേന്തുകയും തന്റെ മാറോടുചേർത്തു വഹിക്കുകയും തള്ളകളെ സൗമ്യതയോടെ നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
He shall feede his flocke like a shepheard: he shall gather the lambes with his arme, and cary them in his bosome, and shall guide them with young.
12 മഹാസാഗരങ്ങളെ തന്റെ ഉള്ളങ്കൈയാൽ അളക്കുകയും ആകാശവിശാലത കൈയുടെ വിസ്തൃതികൊണ്ട് അളന്നുതിരിക്കുകയും ഭൂമിയിലെ പൊടി അളവുപാത്രംകൊണ്ട് അളന്നു തിട്ടപ്പെടുത്തുകയും പർവതങ്ങളെ ത്രാസുകൊണ്ടും മലകളെ തുലാംകൊണ്ടും തൂക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതാർ?
Who hath measured the waters in his fist? and counted heauen with the spanne, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure? and weighed ye mountaines in a weight, and the hilles in a balance?
13 യഹോവയുടെ ആത്മാവിന്റെ ആഴമളക്കാനോ യഹോവയുടെ ഉപദേഷ്ടാവായിരിക്കാനോ കഴിയുന്നതാർ?
Who hath instructed ye Spirit of the Lord? or was his counseler or taught him?
14 അറിവുപകർന്നുകിട്ടാനായി ആരോടാണ് യഹോവ ആലോചന ചോദിച്ചത്? നേരായ മാർഗം അവിടത്തെ പഠിപ്പിച്ചത് ആരാണ്? ജ്ഞാനം അവിടത്തെ ഉപദേശിച്ചത് ആരാണ്? അഥവാ, പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെ പാത ആരാണ് അവിടത്തേക്കു കാണിച്ചുകൊടുത്തത്?
Of whom tooke he counsell, and who instructed him and taught him in the way of iudgement? or taught him knowledge, and shewed vnto him the way of vnderstanding?
15 ഇതാ, രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾ തൊട്ടിയിലെ ഒരു തുള്ളി വെള്ളംപോലെയും തുലാസിലെ പൊടിപോലെയും അവിടത്തേക്ക് തോന്നുന്നു; ഇതാ, ദ്വീപുകളെ ഒരു മണൽത്തരിപോലെ അവിടന്ന് ഉയർത്തുന്നു.
Beholde, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the dust of the balance: beholde, he taketh away the yles as a litle dust.
16 ലെബാനോൻപോലും യാഗപീഠത്തിലെ വിറകിനു മതിയാകുകയോ അതിലെ മൃഗങ്ങൾ ഹോമയാഗത്തിനു തികയുകയോ ഇല്ല.
And Lebanon is not sufficient for fire, nor the beastes thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.
17 സകലരാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളും അവിടത്തെ മുമ്പിൽ വെറും ശൂന്യത; അവ അവിടത്തേക്ക് നിസ്സാരവും നിരർഥകവും.
All nations before him are as nothing, and they are counted to him, lesse then nothing, and vanitie.
18 അപ്പോൾ, ദൈവത്തെ നിങ്ങൾ ആരോടു താരതമ്യംചെയ്യും? ഏതു രൂപത്തോടാണ് നിങ്ങൾ ദൈവത്തെ ഉപമിക്കുന്നത്?
To whom then wil ye liken God? or what similitude will ye set vp vnto him?
19 വിഗ്രഹത്തെക്കുറിച്ചോ, ഒരു ശില്പി അതു വാർത്തെടുക്കുന്നു, സ്വർണപ്പണിക്കാർ അതിന്മേൽ സ്വർണം പൂശുന്നു, അതിനായി വെള്ളിച്ചങ്ങല ഒരുക്കുന്നു.
The workeman melteth an image, or the goldsmith beateth it out in golde, or the goldesmith maketh siluer plates.
20 ഇത്തരമൊരു പ്രതിഷ്ഠയ്ക്കു വകയില്ലാത്തവർ ദ്രവിച്ചുപോകാത്ത ഒരു മരം തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നു; അയാൾ വീണുപോകാത്ത ഒരു വിഗ്രഹം പണിതുണ്ടാക്കുന്നതിനായി സമർഥനായ ഒരു ആശാരിയെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു.
Doeth not the poore chuse out a tree that will not rot, for an oblation? he seeketh also vnto him a cunning workeman, to prepare an image, that shall not be moued.
21 നിങ്ങൾക്കറിഞ്ഞുകൂടേ? നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടില്ലേ? ആദിമുതൽതന്നെ അതു നിങ്ങളോടറിയിച്ചിട്ടില്ലേ? ഭൂമിയുടെ സ്ഥാപനംമുതൽതന്നെ നിങ്ങൾ അതു ഗ്രഹിച്ചിട്ടില്ലേ?
Know ye nothing? haue ye not heard it? hath it not bene tolde you from the beginning? haue ye not vnderstand it by the foundation of the earth?
22 അവിടന്നാണ് ഭൂമണ്ഡലത്തിനുമീതേ ഇരുന്നരുളുന്നത്, അതിലെ നിവാസികൾ അവിടത്തേക്ക് വിട്ടിലിനെപ്പോലെയാണ്. അവിടന്ന് ആകാശത്തെ ഒരു തിരശ്ശീലപോലെ നിവർക്കുകയും പാർക്കുന്നതിന് ഒരു കൂടാരംപോലെ അതിനെ വിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
He sitteth vpon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grashoppers, hee stretcheth out ye heauens, as a curtaine, and spreadeth them out, as a tent to dwell in.
23 അവിടന്ന് ഭരണാധികാരികളെ ശൂന്യരാക്കുകയും ഭൂമിയിലെ ന്യായാധിപരെ വിലകെട്ടവരാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
He bringeth the princes to nothing, and maketh the iudges of the earth, as vanitie,
24 അവരെ നട്ട ഉടൻതന്നെ, വിതച്ചമാത്രയിൽത്തന്നെ, അവർ ഭൂമിയിൽ വേരൂന്നിയപ്പോൾത്തന്നെ, അവിടന്ന് അവരുടെമേൽ ഊതും, അത് ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്നു, ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റിൽ വൈക്കോൽ എന്നപോലെ അവരെ തൂത്തെറിയുന്നു.
As though they were not plated, as though they were not sowen, as though their stocke tooke no roote in the earth: for he did euen blow vpon them, and they withered, and the whirlewinde will take them away as stubble.
25 “അങ്ങനെയെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾ ആരോട് എന്നെ ഉപമിക്കും? ആരോടു ഞാൻ തുല്യനാകും?” എന്നു പരിശുദ്ധൻ ചോദിക്കുന്നു.
To whom nowe will ye liken me, that I should be like him, saith the Holy one?
26 നിങ്ങളുടെ കണ്ണുകൾ ഉയർത്തി ആകാശത്തേക്ക് നോക്കുക: ഇവയെല്ലാം നിർമിച്ചത് ആരാണ്? അവിടന്ന് നക്ഷത്രസമൂഹത്തെ അണിയണിയായി മുന്നോട്ടുകൊണ്ടുവന്ന് അവയെ എല്ലാം പേർചൊല്ലി വിളിക്കുന്നു. അവിടത്തെ ശക്തിയുടെ മഹത്ത്വത്താലും ബലാധിക്യത്താലും അവയിൽ ഒന്നുപോലും കുറഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നില്ല.
Lift vp your eyes on hie, and beholde who hath created these things, and bringeth out their armies by nomber, and calleth them all by names? by the greatnesse of his power and mightie strength nothing faileth.
27 “എന്റെ വഴി യഹോവയ്ക്കു മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; എനിക്കു ലഭിക്കേണ്ട ന്യായം എന്റെ ദൈവം അവഗണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു,” എന്ന് യാക്കോബേ, നീ പരാതിപ്പെടുന്നതെന്ത്? ഇസ്രായേലേ, നീ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതെന്ത്?
Why sayest thou, O Iaakob, and speakest O Israel, My way is hid from the Lord, and my iudgement is passed ouer of my God?
28 നിനക്ക് അറിഞ്ഞുകൂടേ? നീ കേട്ടിട്ടില്ലേ? യഹോവ നിത്യനായ ദൈവം ആകുന്നു, അവിടന്നാണ് ഭൂമിയുടെ അറുതികളെല്ലാം സൃഷ്ടിച്ചത്. അവിടന്നു ക്ഷീണിക്കുന്നില്ല, തളരുന്നതുമില്ല; അവിടത്തെ വിവേകം അപ്രമേയംതന്നെ.
Knowest thou not? or hast thou not heard, that the euerlasting God, the Lord hath created the endes of the earth? he neither fainteth, nor is wearie: there is no searching of his vnderstanding.
29 അവിടന്നു ക്ഷീണിതർക്കു ശക്തിനൽകുന്നു, ബലം കുറഞ്ഞവരുടെ ബലം വർധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
But he giueth strength vnto him that fainteth, and vnto him that hath no strength, he encreaseth power.
30 യുവാക്കൾപോലും ക്ഷീണിച്ചു തളർന്നുപോകുന്നു, ചെറുപ്പക്കാർ കാലിടറി നിലംപൊത്തുന്നു;
Euen the yong men shall faint, and be wearie, and the yong men shall stumble and fall.
31 എങ്കിലും യഹോവയ്ക്കായി കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നവർ അവരുടെ ശക്തി പുതുക്കും. അവർ കഴുകന്മാരെപ്പോലെ ചിറകടിച്ചുയരും; അവർ ഓടും, ക്ഷീണിക്കുകയില്ല, അവർ നടക്കും, തളർന്നുപോകുകയുമില്ല.
But they that waite vpon the Lord, shall renue their strength: they shall lift vp the wings as the eagles: they shall runne, and not be wearie, and they shall walke and not faint.
