യെശയ്യാവ് 21

1 സമുദ്രതീരത്തെ മരുഭൂമിക്കെതിരേയുള്ള പ്രവചനം: ദക്ഷിണദിക്കിൽ ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റ് വീശിയടിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ മരുഭൂമിയിൽനിന്ന് അക്രമികൾ വരുന്നു, ഭയാനകമായ പ്രദേശത്തുനിന്നുതന്നെ.

The oracle on the desert of the sea: As storm-winds in the South which with a rush from the desert, do come from a terrible land,

2 ഭയാനകമായ ഒരു ദർശനം എനിക്കു വെളിപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു: വഞ്ചകർ ഒറ്റുകൊടുക്കുന്നു, കൊള്ളക്കാർ കൊള്ളയിടുന്നു. ഏലാമ്യരേ, ആക്രമിക്കുക! മേദ്യരേ, ഉപരോധം ഏർപ്പെടുത്തുക! ബാബേല്യർ വരുത്തിയ എല്ലാ നെടുവീർപ്പുകൾക്കും ഞാൻ ഒരു അറുതി വരുത്താൻപോകുന്നു.

[So] hath, a grievous vision, been told me: —the deceiver, is deceiving. And the spoiler, is spoiling, Go up, O Elam Besiege O Media, All the sighing she hath caused, have I made to cease.

3 ഈ കാരണത്താൽ എന്റെ അരക്കെട്ടിൽ വേദന നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. പ്രസവവേദന ബാധിച്ച ഒരു സ്ത്രീയുടേതുപോലെയുള്ള വേദനതന്നെ; കേൾക്കുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങളാൽ ഞാൻ പരിഭ്രാന്തനായിരിക്കുന്നു, കാണുന്ന കാഴ്ചകളാൽ ഞാൻ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു.

For this cause, are my loins filled with anguish, Pangs, have seized me, as the pangs of her that is giving birth, —I writhe so that I cannot hear, I tremble, so that I cannot see:

4 എന്റെ ഹൃദയം പതറുന്നു; ഭീതി എന്നെ വലയംചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ കാത്തിരുന്ന സന്ധ്യാസമയം എനിക്കൊരു ഘോരത നൽകിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

My heart fluttereth, A horror, terrifieth me, —My twilight of pleasure, hath he turned for me into a time of trembling.

5 അവർ മേശയൊരുക്കുന്നു പരവതാനി വിരിക്കുന്നു ഭക്ഷിച്ചു പാനംചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു! പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരേ, എഴുന്നേൽക്കുക, പരിചയ്ക്ക് എണ്ണയിടുക!

[Ye thought] to prepare the table—spread the mat—eat—drink! …Arise ye chieftains anoint the shield!

6 കർത്താവ് എന്നോട് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “പോകൂ, ഒരു കാവൽക്കാരനെ നിർത്തൂ, അവൻ കാണുന്നതൊക്കെ നിന്നെ അറിയിക്കട്ടെ.

For, thus, hath My Lord said unto me, —Go, set the watchman, What he seeth, let him tell!

7 ഈരണ്ടു കുതിരകളെ പൂട്ടിയ രഥങ്ങൾ വരുന്നതും നിരനിരയായി കഴുതകളും ഒട്ടകങ്ങളും വരുന്നതു കാണുമ്പോൾ അവൻ ജാഗ്രതയുള്ളവനാകട്ടെ, പരിപൂർണ ജാഗരൂകൻതന്നെ.”

When he seeth A train of horsemen in double rank, A train of asses, A train of camels, Then shall he hearken attentively with diligent heed.

8 അപ്പോൾ കാവൽക്കാരൻ ഉച്ചത്തിൽ വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു: “എന്റെ യജമാനനേ, എല്ലാ പകലുകളിലും ഞാൻ കാവൽഗോപുരത്തിൽ നിൽക്കുന്നു; എല്ലാ രാത്രിയിലും ഞാൻ എന്റെ കാവൽസ്ഥാനത്തുതന്നെ ആയിരിക്കുന്നു.

Then cried he. A lion! On the watch, O My Lord, had I been standing continually, by day, And at my post, had I been stationed whole nights; —

9 ഇതാ, രണ്ടു കുതിരയെപ്പൂട്ടി ഒരു പുരുഷൻ രഥമേറി വരുന്നു. ‘ബാബേൽ വീണുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു, വീണുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു! അവളുടെ എല്ലാ ദേവതകളുടെയും വിഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ നിലത്തു ചിതറിക്കിടക്കുന്നു,’” എന്ന് അയാൾ വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്നു.

When lo! here was a train of men coming. With horsemen in double rank, —And one began and said, Fallen! fallen! is Babylon, And all the images of her gods, are smashed to the ground!

10 മെതിക്കളത്തിൽവെച്ച് മെതിക്കപ്പെട്ട എന്റെ ജനമേ, ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയിൽനിന്ന് ഞാൻ കേട്ടതു നിങ്ങളെ അറിയിക്കുന്നു.

O thou My threshing! And the grain of my corn-floor! That which I have heard from Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, Have I declared, unto you.

11 ദൂമായ്ക്കെതിരേയുള്ള പ്രവചനം: സേയീരിൽനിന്നും ഒരാൾ എന്നോടു വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്നു, “കാവൽക്കാരാ, രാത്രി ഇനിയെത്ര ബാക്കി? കാവൽക്കാരാ, രാത്രി ഇനിയെത്ര ബാക്കി?”

The oracle on Dumah: Unto me, is one crying—out of Seir, Watchman! how far gone is the night? Watchman, how far gone is the night?

12 കാവൽക്കാരൻ മറുപടി പറയുന്നു: “പ്രഭാതം വരുന്നു, പിന്നെ രാത്രിയും. നിങ്ങൾക്കു ചോദിക്കണമെങ്കിൽ ചോദിക്കുക; ഇനിയും വീണ്ടും വരിക.”

Said the watchman, There cometh a morning. But also a night, —If ye will enquire, enquire, ye—Come, again!

13 അറേബ്യക്കെതിരേയുള്ള പ്രവചനം: ദേദാന്യരുടെ വ്യാപാരസംഘങ്ങളേ, അറേബ്യയിലെ കാട്ടിൽ കഴിയുന്നവരേ.

The oracle on Arabia, —Among the shrubs in Arabia, must ye lodge, Ye caravans of Dedanites.

14 തേമാ നിവാസികളേ, ദാഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവർക്കു വെള്ളം കൊണ്ടുവരിക, പലായിതർക്ക് അപ്പം കൊണ്ടുവരിക.

To meet the thirsty, bring ye water, —Ye dwellers in the land of Tema; With bread for him, get in advance of him that is in flight!

15 അവർ വാളിൽനിന്ന്, ഊരിയ വാളിൽനിന്നും കുലച്ച വില്ലിൽനിന്നും യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ കെടുതിയിൽനിന്നും ഓടിപ്പോകുന്നവരാണ്.

For, before swords, have they fled: Before a sword that is drawn, Before a bow that is bent, And before the stress of war.

16 കർത്താവ് എന്നോട് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു: “ഒരു വർഷത്തിനകം, ഒരു കരാർ തൊഴിലാളി തന്റെ കാലാവധി കണക്കാക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, കേദാറിന്റെ എല്ലാ മഹത്ത്വവും പൊയ്പ്പോകും.

For, thus, hath My Lord said unto me, —Within a year according to the yearn of a hireling, shall fail all the glory of Kedar;

17 കേദാര്യരിൽ, വില്ലാളിവീരന്മാരായ കേദാർ ജനതയുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽത്തന്നെ, അതിജീവിക്കുന്നവർ ചുരുക്കമായിരിക്കും.” ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

And, the remnant of the record of bowmen, The heroes of the sons of Kedar, shall become few; For Yahweh God of Israel, hath spoken.
