യെശയ്യാവ് 2
1 ആമോസിന്റെ മകനായ യെശയ്യാവ് യെഹൂദ്യയെയും ജെറുശലേമിനെയുംപറ്റി ദർശിച്ച വചനം ഇതാകുന്നു:
That which Isaiah, son of Amoz saw in vision, —concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
2 അന്തിമനാളുകളിൽ, യഹോവയുടെ ആലയമുള്ള പർവതം, പർവതങ്ങളിൽവെച്ച് ഏറ്റവും ശ്രേഷ്ഠമായി അംഗീകരിക്കപ്പെടും; അതു കുന്നുകൾക്കുമീതേ മഹത്ത്വീകരിക്കപ്പെടും, സകലരാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളും അതിലേക്ക് ഒഴുകിയെത്തും.
But it shall come to pass, in the afterpart of the days, That the mountain of the house of Yahweh Shall be, set up, as the head of the mountains, And be exalted above the hills, —And all the nations, shall stream thereunto;
3 അനേകം ജനതകൾ വന്ന് ഇപ്രകാരം പറയും: “വരൂ, നമുക്ക് യഹോവയുടെ പർവതത്തിലേക്കു കയറിച്ചെല്ലാം, യാക്കോബിൻ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കുതന്നെ. അവിടന്ന് തന്റെ വഴികൾ നമ്മെ അഭ്യസിപ്പിക്കും അങ്ങനെ നമുക്ക് അവിടത്തെ മാർഗം അവലംബിക്കാം.” സീയോനിൽനിന്ന് ഉപദേശവും ജെറുശലേമിൽനിന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ വചനവും പുറപ്പെടും.
And many peoples shall go and say—Come ye, and let us ascend Unto the mountain of Yahweh Unto the house of the God of Jacob, That he may teach us of his ways, And we may walk in his paths, —For, out of Zion, shall go forth a law, And the word of Yahweh out of Jerusalem;
4 അവിടന്നു രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ ന്യായംവിധിക്കും; നിരവധി ജനതകളുടെ തർക്കങ്ങൾക്കു തീർപ്പുകൽപ്പിക്കും. അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ വാളുകൾ കലപ്പയ്ക്കു കൊഴുക്കളായും കുന്തങ്ങൾ വെട്ടുകത്തികളായും അടിച്ചു രൂപംമാറ്റും. രാഷ്ട്രം രാഷ്ട്രത്തിനുനേരേ വാൾ ഉയർത്തുകയില്ല; ഇനിയൊരിക്കലും യുദ്ധം അഭ്യസിക്കുകയുമില്ല.
And he will judge between the nations, And be umpire to many peoples, —And they will beat their swords into ploughshares and their spears into pruning-hooks, Nation—against nation, shall not lift up sword, Neither shall they learn any more to make war,
5 യാക്കോബിന്റെ പിൻതലമുറകളേ, വരിക; നമുക്ക് യഹോവയുടെ വെളിച്ചത്തിൽ നടക്കാം.
O house of Jacob! come ye and let us walk in the light of Yahweh.
6 അങ്ങ് അവിടത്തെ ജനമായ യാക്കോബിന്റെ പിൻഗാമികളെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു. അവരിൽ പൗരസ്ത്യദേശത്തിലെ അന്ധവിശ്വാസങ്ങൾ നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെപ്പോലെ ദേവപ്രശ്നംവെക്കുകയും യെഹൂദേതരരുടെ ആചാരങ്ങളെ ആലിംഗനംചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
Therefore hast thou abandoned thy people the house of Jacob, Because they have become full of the East, And use hidden arts like the Philistines, —And with the children of foreigners, strike hands; —
7 അവരുടെ ദേശം വെള്ളിയും സ്വർണവുംകൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ നിക്ഷേപങ്ങൾക്ക് ഒരു പരിധിയുമില്ല. അവരുടെ നാട് കുതിരകളെക്കൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ രഥങ്ങൾ എണ്ണി തിട്ടപ്പെടുത്താവുന്നതുമല്ല.
So that filled is their land with silver and gold, And there is no end to their treasures, —And filled is their land with horses, And there is no end to their chariots;
8 അവരുടെ ദേശം വിഗ്രഹംകൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ കൈകളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കുമുന്നിൽ വണങ്ങുന്നു, തങ്ങളുടെ വിരലുകൾ നിർമിച്ചതിനെത്തന്നെ.
And filled is their land with idols, —To the work of their own hands, do they bow themselves down, To that which they made with their own fingers.
9 അതുകൊണ്ട് മനുഷ്യർ താഴ്ത്തപ്പെടും; എല്ലാവരും കുനിക്കപ്പെടും; അങ്ങ് അവരോടു ക്ഷമിക്കരുതേ.
So the mean man boweth down And the great man stoopeth low, —Therefore do not thou forgive them!
10 യഹോവയുടെ ഭയാനക സാന്നിധ്യത്തിൽനിന്നും അവിടത്തെ പ്രഭാമഹത്ത്വത്തിൽനിന്നും പാറയിൽ പ്രവേശിച്ച് തറയിൽ ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുക.
Enter into the rock, Or hide thee in the dust, —Because of the terribleness of Yahweh, And for his majestic splendour.
11 അഹങ്കാരിയുടെ കണ്ണ് താഴ്ത്തപ്പെടും; മനുഷ്യന്റെ ഗർവം കുനിയും; ആ ദിവസത്തിൽ യഹോവമാത്രം മഹത്ത്വീകരിക്കപ്പെടും.
The lofty looks of mean men, shall be humbled, And, the haughtiness of great men, shall be bowed down, —And Yahweh alone shall be exalted in that day.
12 സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഗർവവും ഉന്നതഭാവവും നിഗളവുമുള്ള എല്ലാവർക്കുമായി ഒരു ദിവസം കരുതിവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. അവരെല്ലാവരും താഴ്ത്തപ്പെടും.
For, a day of Yahweh of hosts, [shall be] —Upon every one who is high and lofty, —And upon every one who is lifted up, And he shall be brought low;
13 ലെബാനോനിലെ ഉയരവും മഹത്ത്വവുമുള്ള എല്ലാ ദേവദാരുക്കളുടെമേലും ബാശാനിലെ എല്ലാ കരുവേലകങ്ങളുടെമേലും
And upon all cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, —And upon all the oaks of Bashan;
14 ഉന്നതമായ എല്ലാ പർവതങ്ങളുടെമേലും ഉയരമുള്ള എല്ലാ കുന്നുകളുടെമേലും
And upon all the lofty mountains, —And upon all the uplifted hills;
15 ഉന്നതമായ എല്ലാ ഗോപുരത്തിന്റെമേലും ഉറപ്പുള്ള എല്ലാ മതിലിന്റെമേലും
And upon every high tower, —And upon every fortress wall;
16 തർശീശിലെ എല്ലാ കപ്പലുകളുടെമേലും പ്രൗഢിയുള്ള എല്ലാ സമുദ്രയാനങ്ങളുടെമേലും ആ ദിവസം വരും.
And upon all the ships of Tarshish, —And upon all desirable banners.
17 മനുഷ്യന്റെ ഗർവം താഴ്ത്തപ്പെടും; അവന്റെ അഹംഭാവമെല്ലാം വിനമ്രമാക്കപ്പെടും; ആ ദിവസത്തിൽ യഹോവമാത്രം ഉന്നതനായിരിക്കും,
And the haughtiness of mean men, shall be humbled, —And the loftiness of great men, shall be laid low, —And Yahweh alone shall be exalted in that day.
18 വിഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ പൂർണമായും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകും.
And, the idols, shall wholly pass away;
19 ഭൂമിയെ പ്രകമ്പനംകൊള്ളിക്കാൻ യഹോവ എഴുന്നേൽക്കുമ്പോൾ അവിടത്തെ ഭയാനക സാന്നിധ്യത്തിൽനിന്നും, അവിടത്തെ പ്രഭാമഹത്ത്വത്തിൽനിന്നും മനുഷ്യർ പാറകൾക്കുള്ളിലുള്ള ഗുഹകളിലേക്കും മണ്ണിലെ കുഴികളിലേക്കും കടക്കും.
And they shall enter into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of clay, —Because of the terribleness of Yahweh, And for his majestic splendour, When he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
20 തങ്ങൾക്കു നമസ്കരിക്കാൻ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ സ്വർണവും വെള്ളിയുംകൊണ്ടുള്ള ബിംബങ്ങളെ മനുഷ്യർ ആ ദിവസത്തിൽ തുരപ്പനെലിക്കും നരിച്ചീറിനും എറിഞ്ഞുകളയും.
In that day shall the son of earth cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, —which had been made for him to worship, into the hole of the mice, and to the bats;
21 ഭൂമിയെ വിറകൊള്ളിക്കാൻ യഹോവ എഴുന്നേൽക്കുമ്പോൾ, അവിടത്തെ ഭയാനക സാന്നിധ്യത്തിൽനിന്നും, അവിടത്തെ പ്രഭാമഹത്ത്വത്തിൽനിന്നും അവർ പാറകളുടെ ഗഹ്വരങ്ങളിലേക്കും ഭൂമിയിലെ വിള്ളലുകളിലേക്കും ഓടിപ്പോകും.
That he may enter into the clefts of the rocks, and into the fissures of the crags, —Because of the terribleness of Yahweh, And for his majestic splendour, When he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
22 കേവലം മനുഷ്യനിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നത് അവസാനിപ്പിക്കുക, അവരുടെ ജീവശ്വാസം കേവലം നാസാദ്വാരങ്ങളിലല്ലോ. അവരെ എന്തിനു വിലമതിക്കണം?
Cease ye from the son of earth, In whose nostrils is but a breath, —For wherein to be reckoned upon, is he?
