യെശയ്യാവ് 16

1 നിങ്ങൾ ദേശാധിപതിക്കുള്ള കാഴ്ചയായി, കുഞ്ഞാടിനെ സേലായിൽനിന്ന്, മരുഭൂമിവഴിയായി സീയോൻപുത്രിയുടെ പർവതത്തിലേക്കു കൊടുത്തയയ്ക്കുക.

I will send as it were reptiles on the land: is [not] the mount of the daughter of Sion a desolate rock?

2 കൂട്ടിൽനിന്നു തള്ളിയിടപ്പെട്ട് ചിറകിട്ടടിക്കുന്ന പക്ഷികളെപ്പോലെ ആയിരിക്കും അർന്നോൻ കടവുകളിൽ മോവാബ്യ പുത്രിമാർ.

For you shall be as a young bird taken away from a bird that has flown: [even] you shall be [so], daughter of Moab: and then do you, O Arnon,

3 “ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് ആലോചന പറഞ്ഞുതരിക, ന്യായം നടത്തുക. നട്ടുച്ചസമയത്ത് നിന്റെ നിഴലിനെ രാത്രിപോലെയാക്കുക. പലായിതരെ ഒളിപ്പിക്കുക, അഭയാർഥികളെ ഒറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കരുത്.

take farther counsel, and continually make you a shelter from grief: they flee in darkness at mid-day; they are amazed; be not you led captive.

4 മോവാബിലെ പലായിതർ നിന്നോടൊപ്പം പാർക്കട്ടെ; അവരുടെ അന്തകരിൽനിന്ന് നീ അവർക്ക് ഒരു അഭയമായിരിക്കുക,” എന്നു മോവാബ് പറയുന്നു. പീഡകരുടെ അവസാനം വന്നുചേരും നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നവർ ഇല്ലാതെയാകും; മർദകർ ദേശത്തുനിന്ന് അപ്രത്യക്ഷരാകും.

The fugitives of Moab shall sojourn with you; they shall be to you a shelter from the face of the pursuer: for your alliance has been taken away, and the oppressing ruler has perished from off the earth.

5 അചഞ്ചലസ്നേഹത്താൽ സിംഹാസനം സ്ഥിരമാക്കപ്പെടും; ദാവീദിന്റെ കൂടാരത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഒരുവൻ സത്യസന്ധതയോടെ അതിൽ ഉപവിഷ്ടനാകും. ആ ന്യായാധിപൻ ന്യായതല്പരനും നീതി നടത്തുന്നതിനു വേഗമുള്ളവനും ആയിത്തീരും.

And a throne shall be established with mercy; and one shall sit upon it with truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and earnestly seeking judgements, and hasting righteousness.

6 മോവാബിന്റെ അഹങ്കാരത്തെപ്പറ്റി ഞങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്— അവളുടെ ഗർവം എത്ര വലിയത്! അവളുടെ നിഗളം, അഹങ്കാരം, ധിക്കാരം എന്നിവയും ഞങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ അവളുടെ പ്രശംസ വ്യർഥമത്രേ.

We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud. I have cut off his pride: your prophecy shall not be thus, [no] not thus.

7 അതിനാൽ മോവാബ്യർ വിലപിക്കും, അവർ മോവാബിനെക്കുറിച്ച് വിലപിക്കും. കീർ-ഹരേശേത്തിലെ മുന്തിരിയടകളെപ്പറ്റി ദുഃഖിക്കുകയും വിലപിക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുക.

Moab shall howl; for all shall howl in the land of Moab: but you shall care for them that dwell in Seth, and you shall not be ashamed.

8 ഹെശ്ബോനിലെ വയലുകളും സിബ്മയിലെ മുന്തിരിവള്ളികളും ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോയി. അതിലെ വിശിഷ്ട മുന്തിരിവള്ളികളെ ഇതര രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളിലെ ഭരണാധിപന്മാർ ചവിട്ടിമെതിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, അതു യാസേർവരെയും മരുഭൂമിവരെയും പടർന്നിരുന്നു. അതിന്റെ ശാഖകൾ കടൽവരെയും പടർന്നിരുന്നു.

The plains of Esebon shall mourn, the vine of Sebama: swallowing up the nations, trample you her vines, even to Jazer: you shall not come together; wander you in the desert: they that were sent are deserted, for they have gone over to the sea.

9 അതിനാൽ ഞാൻ യാസേരിനോടൊപ്പം സിബ്മയിലെ മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയെക്കുറിച്ചു വിലപിക്കും. ഹെശ്ബോനേ, എലെയാലേ, ഞാൻ എന്റെ കണ്ണുനീർകൊണ്ടു നിന്നെ നനയ്ക്കും! നിന്റെ വേനൽക്കാല ഫലങ്ങൾക്കും കൊയ്ത്തിനും ആഹ്ലാദാരവം നിലച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

Therefore will I weep as with the weeping of Jazer for the vine of Sebama; Esebon and Eleale have cast down your trees; for I will trample on your harvest and on your vintages, and all [your plants] shall fall.

10 ഫലപൂർണമായ വയലിൽനിന്ന് ആനന്ദവും ഉല്ലാസവും നീങ്ങിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു; മുന്തിരിത്തോപ്പുകളിലും പാട്ടുകളോ ആർപ്പുവിളിയോ ഇല്ല. മുന്തിരിച്ചക്കുകളിൽ ആരും മുന്തിരിങ്ങാ ചവിട്ടുന്നില്ല; കാരണം ഞാൻ ആ ആർപ്പുവിളി അവസാനിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

And gladness and rejoicing shall be taken away from the vineyards; and they shall not at all tread wine into the vats; for [the vintage] has ceased.

11 അതിനാൽ എന്റെ ഹൃദയം മോവാബിനെക്കുറിച്ചും എന്റെ അന്തരിന്ദ്രിയം കീർ-ഹേരെശിനെക്കുറിച്ചും ഒരു കിന്നരംപോലെ ആർത്തനാദം പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുന്നു.

Therefore my belly shall sound as a harp for Moab, and you have repaired my inward parts as a wall.

12 മോവാബ് അവളുടെ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ചെല്ലുമ്പോൾ തളർന്നുപോകാം എന്ന പ്രയോജനംമാത്രമേയുള്ളൂ, അവൾ പവിത്രസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിൽ പ്രാർഥിക്കാൻ ചെല്ലുമ്പോൾ ഫലസിദ്ധിയുണ്ടാകുകയുമില്ല.

And it shall be to your shame, (for Moab is wearied at the altars, ) that he shall go in to the idols thereof to pray, but they shall not be at all able to deliver him.

13 ഇതാണ് യഹോവ മുമ്പേതന്നെ മോവാബിനെപ്പറ്റി അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനം.

This is the word which the Lord spoke against Moab, when he spoke.

14 എന്നാൽ ഇപ്പോൾ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഒരു കരാർ തൊഴിലാളി കണക്കാക്കുന്നതുപോലെയുള്ള മൂന്നു സംവത്സരത്തിനുള്ളിൽ മോവാബിന്റെ മഹത്ത്വം അവന്റെ എല്ലാ ജനബാഹുല്യത്തോടുമൊപ്പം നിന്ദിതമാകും. അവളുടെ ശേഷിപ്പു തുച്ഛവും ദുർബലവുമായിരിക്കും.”

And now I say, in three years, of the years of an hireling, the glory of Moab shall be dishonoured [with] all his great wealth; and he shall be left few in number, and not honoured.
