ഹോശേയ 9
1 ഇസ്രായേലേ, മറ്റു രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ നീ ആനന്ദിക്കരുത്; കാരണം എല്ലാ മെതിക്കളങ്ങളിലും നിങ്ങൾ വേശ്യയുടെ കൂലി ആഗ്രഹിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ദൈവത്തോട് അവിശ്വസ്തരായിരിക്കുന്നു.
Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy, like the peoples; for thou hast played the harlot, [departing] from thy God; thou hast loved hire upon every grain-floor.
2 മെതിക്കളങ്ങളും വീഞ്ഞുചക്കുകളും ജനത്തെ പരിപോഷിപ്പിക്കുകയില്ല; പുതുവീഞ്ഞ് അവർക്കു ലഭിക്കുകയുമില്ല.
The threshing-floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail her.
3 അവർ യഹോവയുടെ ദേശത്തു ശേഷിക്കുകയില്ല; എഫ്രയീം ഈജിപ്റ്റിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകുകയും അശ്ശൂരിൽവെച്ച് അശുദ്ധാഹാരം കഴിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
They shall not dwell in Jehovah’s land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean food in Assyria.
4 അവർ യഹോവയ്ക്കു വീഞ്ഞ് അർപ്പിക്കുകയില്ല, അവരുടെ ഹനനയാഗങ്ങൾ അവിടത്തേക്കു പ്രസാദമാകുകയുമില്ല. ആ അപ്പം അവർക്കു വിലാപക്കാരുടെ അപ്പംപോലെ ആയിരിക്കും; അതു തിന്നുന്നവരൊക്കെയും അശുദ്ധരാകും. ഈ ഭക്ഷണം അവർക്കു വിശപ്പടക്കാൻമാത്രം കൊള്ളാം; അതു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ വരികയുമില്ല.
They shall not pour out wine-[offerings] to Jehovah, neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted; for their bread shall be for their appetite; it shall not come into the house of Jehovah.
5 നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉത്സവദിവസങ്ങളിൽ, യഹോവയുടെ ഉത്സവദിവസങ്ങളിൽ, നിങ്ങൾ എന്തുചെയ്യും?
What will ye do in the day of solemn assembly, and in the day of the feast of Jehovah?
6 അവർ നാശത്തിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടാലും, ഈജിപ്റ്റ് അവരെ പിടിച്ചടക്കുകയും മോഫ് അവരെ കുഴിച്ചിടുകയും ചെയ്യും. അവരുടെ വെള്ളിനിക്ഷേപം മുൾച്ചെടികൾ അപഹരിക്കും. മുള്ളുകൾ അവരുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങളെ മൂടും.
For, lo, they are gone away from destruction; [yet] Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them; their pleasant things of silver, nettles shall possess them; thorns shall be in their tents.
7 ശിക്ഷയുടെ ദിവസങ്ങൾ വരുന്നു, പ്രതികാരദിവസങ്ങൾ സമീപമായിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇസ്രായേൽ ഇത് അറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളട്ടെ. നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങൾ അത്യധികമായിരിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടും നിങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുത വലുതാകുകയാലും പ്രവാചകനെ ഒരു ഭോഷനായും ആത്മപ്രേരിതനെ ഒരു ഭ്രാന്തനായും നിങ്ങൾ പരിഗണിക്കുന്നു.
The days of visitation are come, the days of recompense are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the man that hath the spirit is mad, for the abundance of thine iniquity, and because the enmity is great.
8 യഹോവയുടെ പ്രവാചകൻ എന്റെ ദൈവത്തോടൊപ്പം എഫ്രയീമിന്റെമേൽ കാവൽക്കാരനായിരിക്കുന്നു. എങ്കിലും അവന്റെ വഴികളിൽ കെണികളും അവന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിൽ ശത്രുതയും ഉണ്ട്.
Ephraim [was] a watchman with my God: as for the prophet, a fowler’s snare is in all his ways, [and] enmity in the house of his God.
9 അവർ ഗിബെയയുടെ ദിനങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ മാലിന്യത്തിൽ ആണ്ടുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു. ദൈവം അവരുടെ ദുഷ്ടത ഓർക്കും അവരുടെ പാപങ്ങൾനിമിത്തം അവരെ ശിക്ഷിക്കും.
They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah: he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.
10 “ഞാൻ ഇസ്രായേലിനെ കണ്ടെത്തിയപ്പോൾ, അതു മരുഭൂമിയിൽ മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം കണ്ടെത്തിയതുപോലെ ആയിരുന്നു; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ കണ്ടെത്തിയപ്പോൾ അത് അത്തിവൃക്ഷത്തിൽ കന്നിക്കായ്കൾ കാണുന്നതുപോലെയും ആയിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ ബാൽ-പെയോരിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ, അവർ തങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ ആ ലജ്ജാവഹമായ വിഗ്രഹത്തിനു സമർപ്പിച്ചു. തങ്ങൾ സ്നേഹിച്ച ആ വിഗ്രഹത്തെപ്പോലെതന്നെ അവർ നികൃഷ്ടരായിത്തീർന്നു.
I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the first-ripe in the fig-tree at its first season: but they came to Baal-peor, and consecrated themselves unto the shameful thing, and became abominable like that which they loved.
11 എഫ്രയീമിന്റെ മഹത്ത്വം ഒരു പക്ഷിയെപ്പോലെ പറന്നുപോകും— ജനനമില്ല, ഗർഭമില്ല, ഗർഭധാരണവുമില്ല!
As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird: there shall be no birth, and none with child, and no conception.
12 അവർ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ വളർത്തിയാലും ഞാൻ അവരെ ഒരാളും ശേഷിക്കാതവണ്ണം മക്കളില്ലാത്തവരാക്കും. ഞാൻ അവരെ വിട്ടുമാറുമ്പോൾ അവർക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം!
Though they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, so that not a man shall be left: yea, woe also to them when I depart from them!
13 സോരിനെപ്പോലെ മനോഹരസ്ഥലത്തു നട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന എഫ്രയീമിനെ ഞാൻ കണ്ടു. എന്നാൽ എഫ്രയീം തന്റെ മക്കളെ ഘാതകന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുചെല്ലേണ്ടിവരും.”
Ephraim, like as I have seen Tyre, is planted in a pleasant place: but Ephraim shall bring out his children to the slayer.
14 അവർക്കു നൽകണമേ യഹോവേ, അവർക്ക് അങ്ങ് എന്താണു നൽകുന്നത്? അലസിപ്പോകുന്ന ഗർഭവും, വരണ്ടുപോകുന്ന മുലകളും അവർക്കു നൽകണമേ.
Give them, O Jehovah—what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.
15 “ഗിൽഗാലിൽ അവരുടെ സകലദുഷ്ടതയുംനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ അവിടെ അവരെ വെറുത്തു. അവരുടെ പാപപ്രവൃത്തികൾനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ അവരെ എന്റെ ഭവനത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഓടിച്ചുകളയും. ഞാൻ ഇനി അവരെ സ്നേഹിക്കുകയില്ല; അവരുടെ എല്ലാ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും മത്സരികൾതന്നെ.
All their wickedness is in Gilgal; for there I hated them: because of the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of my house; I will love them no more; all their princes are revolters.
16 എഫ്രയീം നശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, അവരുടെ വേര് ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോയി, അവർ ഫലം പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുന്നില്ല. അവർ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ ഗർഭംധരിച്ചാലും, അവരുടെ പ്രിയ ഗർഭഫലങ്ങളെ ഞാൻ സംഹരിച്ചുകളയും.”
Ephraim is smitten, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit: yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay the beloved fruit of their womb.
17 അവർ യഹോവയെ അനുസരിക്കായ്കകൊണ്ട് എന്റെ ദൈവം അവരെ നിരസിച്ചുകളയും; അവർ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ അലയുന്നവരാകും.
My God will cast them away, because they did not hearken unto him; and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
