ഹോശേയ 10

1 ഇസ്രായേൽ പടർന്നിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു മുന്തിരിവള്ളി; അവൻ തനിക്കുതന്നെ ഫലം കായ്ച്ചു. അവന്റെ ഫലം വർധിച്ചതനുസരിച്ച്, കൂടുതൽ ആചാരസ്തൂപങ്ങൾ പണിതു; അവന്റെ ദേശം അഭിവൃദ്ധിപ്പെട്ടതനുസരിച്ച്, അവൻ തന്റെ വിഗ്രഹസ്തംഭങ്ങൾക്കു മോടിപിടിപ്പിച്ചു.

Israel was a luxuriant vine, which put forth fruit freely: as his fruit increased, he increased his altars; the more goodly his land was, the more goodly were his pillars.

2 അവരുടെ ഹൃദയം വഞ്ചനയുള്ളത്, അവരുടെ അകൃത്യത്തിന് അവർ ഇപ്പോൾ ശിക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും. യഹോവ അവരുടെ ബലിപീഠങ്ങൾ തകർത്തുകളയും അവരുടെ ആചാരസ്തൂപങ്ങൾ നശിപ്പിക്കും.

Their heart is divided; now shall they bear their guilt; He will break down their altars, He will spoil their pillars.

3 അപ്പോൾ അവർ പറയും: “യഹോവയെ ബഹുമാനിക്കാത്തതിനാൽ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു രാജാവില്ല; അല്ലാ, ഞങ്ങൾക്കൊരു രാജാവ് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കിലും, അദ്ദേഹത്തിനു ഞങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി എന്തുചെയ്യാൻ കഴിയും?”

Surely now shall they say: 'We have no king; for we feared not the LORD; and the king, what can he do for us?'

4 അവർ അനേകം വാഗ്ദാനങ്ങൾ നൽകുന്നു, വ്യാജശപഥങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യുന്നു ഉടമ്പടികൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ട്, ഉഴുതിട്ട നിലത്ത് വിഷക്കളകൾ മുളയ്ക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ന്യായവിധി മുളച്ചുവരുന്നു.

They speak words, they swear falsely, they make covenants; thus judgment springeth up as hemlock in the furrows of the field.

5 ശമര്യയിൽ പാർക്കുന്ന ജനം ബേത്-ആവെനിലെ കാളക്കിടാവിന്റെ പ്രതിമനിമിത്തം ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു. അതിനെ പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയതുനിമിത്തം അതിലെ ജനങ്ങൾ വിലപിക്കും വിഗ്രഹാരാധകരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാരും വിലപിക്കും, അതിന്റെ മഹത്ത്വത്തിൽ സന്തോഷിച്ച സകലരും വിലപിക്കും.

The inhabitants of Samaria shall be in dread for the calves of Beth-aven; for the people thereof shall mourn over it, and the priests thereof shall tremble for it, for its glory, because it is departed from it.

6 മഹാരാജാവിനു കപ്പമായിട്ട് അതിനെ അശ്ശൂരിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകും. എഫ്രയീം അപമാനിക്കപ്പെടും; ഇസ്രായേൽ തന്റെ ആലോചനയെക്കുറിച്ചു ലജ്ജിക്കും.

It also shall be carried unto Assyria, for a present to King Contentious; Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.

7 വെള്ളത്തിനു മുകളിലെ ഉണങ്ങിയ ചുള്ളിപോലെ ശമര്യയും അതിന്റെ രാജാവും ഒഴുകിപ്പോകും.

As for Samaria, her king is cut off, as foam upon the water.

8 ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ പാപമായ ആവേനിലെ മ്ലേച്ഛതനിറഞ്ഞ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടും. അവിടെ മുള്ളും പറക്കാരയും വളർന്ന് അവരുടെ ബലിപീഠങ്ങളെ മൂടും. അപ്പോൾ അവർ പർവതങ്ങളോട്: “ഞങ്ങളെ മൂടുക” എന്നും കുന്നുകളോട്, “ഞങ്ങളുടെമേൽ വീഴുക” എന്നും പറയും.

The high places also of Aven shall be destroyed, even the sin of Israel. The thorn and the thistle shall come up on their altars; and they shall say to the mountains: 'Cover us', and to the hills: 'Fall on us.'

9 “ഗിബെയയുടെ ദിവസങ്ങൾമുതൽ, ഇസ്രായേലേ, നിങ്ങൾ പാപംചെയ്തു, നിങ്ങൾ അവിടെത്തന്നെ നിൽക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഗിബെയയിൽ തിന്മ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവരെ യുദ്ധം കീഴടക്കുകയില്ലേ?

From the days of Gibeah thou hast sinned, O Israel; there they stood; no battle was to overtake them in Gibeah, nor the children of arrogancy.

10 എനിക്കിഷ്ടമുള്ളപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ അവരെ ശിക്ഷിക്കും; അവരുടെ പാപങ്ങൾ രണ്ടിനും അവരെ ബന്ധിക്കേണ്ടതിന് അവർക്കെതിരേ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളെ കൂട്ടിവരുത്തും.

When it is My desire, I will chastise them; and the peoples shall be gathered against them, when they are yoked to their two rings.

11 എഫ്രയീം, ധാന്യം മെതിക്കാൻ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നതും മെരുക്കമുള്ളതുമായ ഒരു പശുക്കിടാവ്; എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ അവളുടെ ഭംഗിയുള്ള കഴുത്തിൽ നുകം വെക്കും; ഞാൻ എഫ്രയീമിനെ നുകത്തിൽ കെട്ടുകയും യെഹൂദാ നിലം ഉഴുകയും യാക്കോബ് കട്ടയുടയ്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.

And Ephraim is a heifer well broken, that loveth to thresh, and I have passed over upon her fair neck; I will make Ephraim to ride, Judah shall plow, Jacob shall break his clods.

12 നിങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി നീതി വിതയ്ക്കുക, നിത്യസ്നേഹത്തിന്റെ ഫലം കൊയ്യുക. തരിശുനിലങ്ങളെ ഉഴുവിൻ, യഹോവ വന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെമേൽ നീതി വർഷിക്കുന്നതുവരെ അവിടത്തെ അന്വേഷിപ്പിൻ.

Sow to yourselves according to righteousness, reap according to mercy, break up your fallow ground; for it is time to seek the LORD, till He come and cause righteousness to rain upon you.

13 എന്നാൽ, നിങ്ങൾ ദുഷ്ടത നട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു, നിങ്ങൾ ദോഷം കൊയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു, വഞ്ചനയുടെ ഫലം നിങ്ങൾ തിന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. നിങ്ങൾ സ്വന്തബലത്തിലും യുദ്ധവീരന്മാരിലും ആശ്രയിച്ചതുകൊണ്ട്,

Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity, ye have eaten the fruit of lies; for thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men.

14 യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ ആർപ്പുവിളി നിന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ മധ്യത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടാകും. യുദ്ധദിവസത്തിൽ ശൽമാൻ ബെത്ത്-അർബേലിനെ ഉന്മൂലമാക്കിയതുപോലെ നിന്റെ സകലകോട്ടകളെയും ശൂന്യമാക്കും. അവിടെ അമ്മയെ മക്കളോടുകൂടെ അടിച്ചുതകർത്തല്ലോ.

Therefore shall a tumult arise among thy hosts, and all thy fortresses shall be spoiled, as Shalman spoiled Beth-arbel in the day of battle; the mother was dashed in pieces with her children.

15 നിന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത വലുതായിരിക്കുകയാൽ, ബേഥേലേ, നിനക്കും ഇതുതന്നെ സംഭവിക്കും. ആ ദിവസം ഉദിക്കുമ്പോൾ, ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാവ് അശേഷം നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടും.

So hath Beth-el done unto you because of your great wickedness; at daybreak is the king of Israel utterly cut off.
