1 മനുഷ്യരുടെ പ്രതിനിധിയായി, ദൈവത്തിനുമുമ്പിൽ പാപങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടിയുള്ള കാഴ്ചകളും യാഗങ്ങളും അർപ്പിക്കാനാണ് ഏതു മഹാപുരോഹിതനെയും മനുഷ്യരിൽനിന്ന് ദൈവം തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത് നിയോഗിക്കുന്നത്.
Every high priest is chosen from the people and is appointed to work for the people as they relate to God. He presents to God both their gifts and sacrifices for their sins.
2 താനും ബലഹീനമനുഷ്യൻ ആകയാൽ അജ്ഞരോടും വഴിതെറ്റിയവരോടും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് സൗമ്യമായി ഇടപെടാൻ കഴിയും.
The high priest understands how ignorant and deluded people feel because he also experiences the same kind of human weaknesses.
3 അതിനാൽ ജനത്തിന്റെ പാപങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി യാഗം അർപ്പിക്കുന്നതുപോലെതന്നെ സ്വന്തം പാപങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടിയും അദ്ദേഹം യാഗങ്ങൾ അർപ്പിക്കേണ്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

In just the same way Christ did not honor himself by becoming high priest. It was God who said to him, “You are my Son. Today I have become your Father.”
6 മറ്റൊരിടത്ത് “മൽക്കീസേദെക്കിന്റെ ക്രമപ്രകാരം അങ്ങ് എന്നെന്നേക്കും പുരോഹിതനായിരിക്കും,” എന്നും ദൈവം ക്രിസ്തുവിനോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു. (aiōn g165)
In another verse, God says, “You are a priest forever, following the order of Melchizedek.” (aiōn g165)
7 യേശു ഈ ലോകത്തിൽ ജീവിച്ച കാലത്ത്, മരണത്തിൽനിന്ന് തന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്ന ദൈവത്തോട് ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചും കണ്ണുനീരൊഴുക്കിയും അപേക്ഷകളും യാചനകളും അർപ്പിച്ചു; ദൈവത്തോടുള്ള അഗാധഭക്തി നിമിത്തം അതിന് ഉത്തരം ലഭിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
Jesus, while he was here in human form, prayed and appealed with loud cries and tears to God, the one who was able to save him from death. Jesus was heard because of his respect for God.
8 അവിടന്ന് ദൈവപുത്രനായിരുന്നിട്ടും താൻ അനുഭവിച്ച കഷ്ടങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് അനുസരണപഠിച്ച് എല്ലാവിധത്തിലും യോഗ്യതയുള്ളവനായി.

9 ഇങ്ങനെ, അവിടന്ന് തന്നെ അനുസരിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാവർക്കും നിത്യരക്ഷയുടെ ഉറവിടമായിത്തീർന്ന്, (aiōnios g166)
When his experience was complete, he became the source of eternal salvation to everyone who does what he says, (aiōnios g166)
10 മൽക്കീസേദെക്കിന്റെ ക്രമത്തിലുള്ള മഹാപുരോഹിതനായി ദൈവത്താൽ നിയോഗിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു.
having been designated by God as a high priest according to the order of Melchizedek.

13 പാൽമാത്രം കുടിച്ചു ജീവിക്കുന്നയാൾ നീതിയുടെ വചനത്തിൽ പരിചയമില്ലാത്ത വെറും ശിശുവാണ്.
Those who drink baby milk don't have the experience of living the right way—they're just babies.
14 സ്ഥിരപരിശീലനത്തിലൂടെ നന്മയും തിന്മയും വ്യവച്ഛേദിക്കാനുള്ള കഴിവ് സമാർജിച്ച പക്വതയുള്ളവർക്കുമാത്രമാണ് ഖരരൂപത്തിലുള്ള ആഹാരം.
Solid food is for grown-ups—those who by always using their brains have learned to tell the difference between good and evil.
