ഉല്പത്തി 39
1 അങ്ങനെ യോസേഫിനെ യിശ്മായേല്യ കച്ചവടക്കാർ ഈജിപ്റ്റിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി. അവനെ അവിടേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയ യിശ്മായേല്യരുടെ പക്കൽനിന്ന് ഫറവോന്റെ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്മാരിൽ ഒരുവനും അംഗരക്ഷകരുടെ അധിപനുമായ പോത്തീഫർ എന്ന ഒരു ഈജിപ്റ്റുകാരൻ വിലയ്ക്കുവാങ്ങി.

2 യഹോവ യോസേഫിനോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് അവൻ അഭിവൃദ്ധിപ്രാപിച്ചു. അവൻ ഈജിപ്റ്റുകാരനായ യജമാനന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ജീവിച്ചുപോന്നു.
and to be LORD with Joseph and to be man to prosper and to be in/on/with house: household lord his [the] Egyptian
3 യഹോവ അവനോടുകൂടെയുണ്ട് എന്നും എല്ലാ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളിലും അവനു വിജയം നൽകുന്നെന്നും അവന്റെ യജമാനൻ മനസ്സിലാക്കി.
and to see: see lord his for LORD with him and all which he/she/it to make: do LORD to prosper in/on/with hand his
4 പോത്തീഫർ ഇതിൽ സന്തുഷ്ടനാകുകയും യോസേഫിനെ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പരിചാരകനാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. അങ്ങനെ പോത്തീഫർ തന്റെ ഗൃഹകാര്യങ്ങളുടെ അധികാരിയായി യോസേഫിനെ നിയമിക്കുകയും തനിക്കുള്ളതെല്ലാം അവനെ ഭരമേൽപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
and to find Joseph favor in/on/with eye: seeing his and to minister [obj] him and to reckon: overseer him upon house: household his and all there to/for him to give: put in/on/with hand: power his
5 പോത്തീഫർ യോസേഫിനെ തന്റെ ഭവനത്തിന്റെയും തന്റെ സ്വത്തുക്കളുടെയും മേലധികാരിയായി നിയമിച്ചപ്പോൾമുതൽ യഹോവ യോസേഫ് നിമിത്തം അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഭവനത്തെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു. വീട്ടിലും വയലിലും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന സകലത്തിന്റെമേലും യഹോവയുടെ അനുഗ്രഹം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
and to be from the past to reckon: overseer [obj] him in/on/with house: household his and upon all which there to/for him and to bless LORD [obj] house: household [the] Egyptian in/on/with because of Joseph and to be blessing LORD in/on/with all which there to/for him in/on/with house: home and in/on/with land: country
6 അതുകൊണ്ട് പോത്തീഫർ തന്റെ സകലസ്വത്തും യോസേഫിന്റെ അധികാരത്തിൻകീഴിൽ വിട്ടുകൊടുത്തു; താൻ കഴിക്കുന്ന ആഹാരം ഒഴികെയുള്ള മറ്റൊരു കാര്യത്തിലും ഇടപെട്ടതുമില്ല. യോസേഫ് ദൃഢഗാത്രനും അതിസുന്ദരനും ആയിരുന്നു.
and to leave: forsake all which to/for him in/on/with hand: power Joseph and not to know with him anything that if: except if: except [the] food which he/she/it to eat and to be Joseph beautiful appearance and beautiful appearance
7 കുറെക്കാലത്തിനുശേഷം അവന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ ഭാര്യ യോസേഫിൽ ആസക്തയായി, “എന്നോടൊപ്പം കിടക്കയിലേക്കു വരിക” അവൾ പറഞ്ഞു.

8 യോസേഫ് ആ ക്ഷണം നിരസിച്ചു. “എന്റെ യജമാനൻ എന്നെ കാര്യവിചാരകനാക്കിയതിനുശേഷം വീട്ടിലുള്ള ഒരു കാര്യത്തിലും ഇടപെടുന്നില്ല; തന്റെ ഉടമസ്ഥതയിലുള്ളതെല്ലാം അദ്ദേഹം എന്നെ ഭരമേൽപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
and to refuse and to say to(wards) woman: wife lord his look! lord my not to know with me what? in/on/with house: household and all which there to/for him to give: put in/on/with hand: power my
9 ഈ ഭവനത്തിൽ എന്നെക്കാൾ വലിയവനായി ആരുമില്ല. നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ ഭാര്യ ആയതിനാൽ നിങ്ങളെ ഒഴികെ, മറ്റൊന്നും എനിക്കു വിട്ടുതരാതെയിരുന്നിട്ടില്ല. അങ്ങനെയിരിക്കെ, ഇത്തരം ഒരു ദുഷ്കർമം ചെയ്യാനും ദൈവത്തോടു പാപം ചെയ്യാനും എനിക്കെങ്ങനെ കഴിയും?” എന്ന് യോസേഫ് ചോദിച്ചു.

10 അവൾ ദിവസംതോറും യോസേഫിനോടു സംസാരിച്ചെങ്കിലും അവളോടൊപ്പം കിടക്ക പങ്കിടാനോ അവളുടെ സമീപത്തു നിൽക്കാൻപോലുമോ അവൻ കൂട്ടാക്കിയില്ല.
and to be like/as to speak: speak she to(wards) Joseph day: daily day: daily and not to hear: hear to(wards) her to/for to lie down: have sex beside her to/for to be with her
11 ഒരു ദിവസം യോസേഫ് തന്റെ ചുമതലയിൽപ്പെട്ട കാര്യങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യുന്നതിന് വീടിനുള്ളിലേക്കു പോയി; വീട്ടിലെ വേലക്കാർ ആരുംതന്നെ അകത്തുണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.
and to be like/as [the] day [the] this and to come (in): come [the] house: home [to] to/for to make: do work his and nothing man: anyone from human [the] house: home there in/on/with house: home
12 അവൾ അവന്റെ പുറങ്കുപ്പായത്തിൽ കടന്നു പിടിച്ചിട്ട്, “എന്നോടൊപ്പം കിടക്കയിലേക്കു വരിക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. എന്നാൽ അവൻ ആ പുറങ്കുപ്പായം അവളുടെ കൈയിൽ വിട്ടിട്ട് വീടിനു പുറത്തേക്ക് ഓടിപ്പോയി.

13 അവൻ ഇങ്ങനെ പുറങ്കുപ്പായം അവളുടെ കൈയിൽ വിട്ടുകൊടുത്തിട്ടു വീടിനു പുറത്തേക്ക് ഓടിപ്പോയി എന്നുകണ്ടപ്പോൾ

14 അവൾ തന്റെ വീട്ടുവേലക്കാരെ വിളിച്ചു; “ഇതാ, നമ്മെ അപഹാസ്യരാക്കാനാണ് ഈ എബ്രായനെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നത്. എന്നോടൊപ്പം കിടക്കപങ്കിടാൻ അവൻ അകത്തു കയറിവന്നു; എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ നിലവിളിച്ചു.

15 ഞാൻ സഹായത്തിനായി നിലവിളിക്കുന്നതു കേട്ടിട്ട് അവൻ തന്റെ കുപ്പായം എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചിട്ട് വീടിനു പുറത്തേക്ക് ഓടിക്കളഞ്ഞു.”
and to be like/as to hear: hear he for to exalt voice my and to call: call out and to leave: forsake garment his beside me and to flee and to come out: come [the] outside [to]
16 അവന്റെ യജമാനൻ വീട്ടിൽ എത്തുന്നതുവരെ അവൾ യോസേഫിന്റെ പുറങ്കുപ്പായം തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ സൂക്ഷിച്ചു.
and to rest garment his beside her till to come (in): come lord his to(wards) house: home his
17 അവൾ അതേ വാക്കുകൾതന്നെ അദ്ദേഹത്തോടും പറഞ്ഞു: “അങ്ങു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന എബ്രായദാസൻ എന്നെ അപഹാസ്യയാക്കാനായി എന്റെ അടുക്കൽവന്നു.
and to speak: speak to(wards) him like/as word [the] these to/for to say to come (in): come to(wards) me [the] servant/slave [the] Hebrew which to come (in): bring to/for us to/for to laugh in/on/with me
18 എന്നാൽ സഹായത്തിനായി ഞാൻ നിലവിളിച്ചമാത്രയിൽത്തന്നെ അവൻ തന്റെ കുപ്പായം എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചിട്ട് വീടിനു പുറത്തേക്ക് ഓടിക്കളഞ്ഞു.”
and to be like/as to exalt I voice my and to call: call out and to leave: forsake garment his beside me and to flee [the] outside [to]
19 “ഈ വിധത്തിലാണ് അങ്ങയുടെ അടിമ എന്നോടു പെരുമാറിയത്,” തന്റെ ഭാര്യ പറഞ്ഞ കഥ കേട്ടപ്പോൾ യജമാനൻ കോപംകൊണ്ടു ജ്വലിച്ചു.

20 യോസേഫിന്റെ യജമാനൻ അവനെ പിടിച്ചു രാജാവിന്റെ തടവുകാരെ ഇടുന്ന കാരാഗൃഹത്തിലാക്കി. അങ്ങനെ യോസേഫ് കാരാഗൃഹത്തിൽ ആയിരുന്നപ്പോൾ
and to take: take lord Joseph [obj] him and to give: put him to(wards) house: home [the] prison place which (prisoner *Q(K)*) [the] king to bind and to be there in/on/with house: home [the] prison
21 യഹോവ യോസേഫിനോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവിടന്ന് അവനോടു കരുണ കാണിക്കുകയും ജയിലധികാരിക്ക് അവനോടു ദയ തോന്നാൻ ഇടയാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
and to be LORD with Joseph and to stretch to(wards) him kindness and to give: give favor his in/on/with eye: seeing ruler house: home [the] prison
22 അതുകൊണ്ട് അധികാരി കാരാഗൃഹത്തിൽ ഉള്ള എല്ലാവരുടെയും മേൽനോട്ടം യോസേഫിനെ ഏൽപ്പിച്ചു. അവിടെ നടക്കുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങളുടെയെല്ലാം ഉത്തരവാദിത്വം അവനു നൽകി.

23 യഹോവ യോസേഫിനോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അതിനാൽ അവൻ ചെയ്ത സകലകാര്യങ്ങളിലും അവനു വിജയം ലഭിച്ചു; യോസേഫിന്റെ ചുമതലയിലുള്ള ഒരു കാര്യത്തിലും ജയിലധികാരി ശ്രദ്ധ ചെലുത്തിയതുമില്ല.
