ഉല്പത്തി 11
1 ലോകംമുഴുവനും ഒരേ ഭാഷയും ഒരേ സംസാരരീതിയും ആയിരുന്നു.
And it was all the earth language one and words one.
2 മനുഷ്യർ പൂർവദിക്കിലേക്കു നീങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ ശിനാർ ദേശത്ത് ഒരു സമതലഭൂമി കണ്ടെത്തുകയും അവിടെ സ്ഥിരവാസം ആരംഭിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
And it was when set out they from [the] east and they found a plain in [the] land of Shinar and they dwelt there.
3 “വരൂ, നമുക്ക് ഇഷ്ടികയുണ്ടാക്കി ശരിക്കും ചുട്ടെടുക്കാം,” അവർ പരസ്പരം പറഞ്ഞു. അവർ കല്ലിനുപകരം ഇഷ്ടികയും കുമ്മായത്തിനു പകരം പശമണ്ണും ഉപയോഗിച്ചു.
And they said each to neighbor his give! let us make bricks bricks and let us burn [them] to burning and became for them brick to stone and bitumen became for them to mortar.
4 പിന്നെ അവർ, “വരിക, നാം ഭൂതലത്തിലെല്ലാം ചിതറിപ്പോകാതിരിക്കാൻ നമുക്ക് ഒരു പട്ടണവും നാം പ്രസിദ്ധരായിത്തീരേണ്ടതിന് ആകാശംവരെ എത്തുന്ന ഒരു ഗോപുരവും നിർമിക്കാം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And they said give! - let us build for ourselves a city and a tower and top its [will be] in the heavens and we may make for ourselves a name lest we should be scattered over [the] surface of all the earth.
5 എന്നാൽ, മനുഷ്യർ പണിതുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന പട്ടണവും ഗോപുരവും കാണാൻ യഹോവ ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു.
And he came down Yahweh to see the city and the tower which they had built [the] children of humankind.
6 അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ: “ഒരേ ഭാഷ സംസാരിക്കുന്ന ഒരേ ജനതയായ ഇവർ ഇങ്ങനെ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചുതുടങ്ങിയെങ്കിൽ അവർ ആസൂത്രണം ചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു കാര്യവും അവർക്ക് അസാധ്യമാകുകയില്ല.
And he said Yahweh here! a people one and a language one [belongs] to all of them and this [is] beginning they to do and now not it will be withheld from them all that they will plan to do.
7 വരിക, നമുക്ക് ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്ന്, അവർ ആശയവിനിമയം ചെയ്യുന്നത് പരസ്പരം മനസ്സിലാക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് അവരുടെ ഭാഷ കലക്കിക്കളയാം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Give! let us go down and let us confuse there language their that not they will hear each [the] language of neighbor his.
8 അങ്ങനെ യഹോവ അവരെ അവിടെനിന്ന് ഭൂമിയിൽ എല്ലായിടത്തുമായി ചിതറിച്ചു; അവർ പട്ടണനിർമാണം ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
And he scattered Yahweh them from there over [the] surface of all the earth and they ceased to build the city.
9 യഹോവ ഭൂമിയിലുള്ള സകലമനുഷ്യരുടെയും ഭാഷ അവിടെവെച്ചു കലക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ട് ആ പട്ടണത്തിന് ബാബേൽ എന്നു പേരായി. അവിടെനിന്നു യഹോവ അവരെ ഭൂതലത്തിൽ എല്ലായിടത്തുമായി ചിതറിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
There-fore someone called name its Babel for there he confused Yahweh [the] language of all the earth and from there he scattered them Yahweh over [the] surface of all the earth.
10 ശേമിന്റെ വംശപാരമ്പര്യം ഇപ്രകാരമാണ്: പ്രളയം കഴിഞ്ഞു രണ്ടു വർഷമായപ്പോൾ, അതായതു ശേമിനു നൂറ് വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ, അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് അർപ്പക്ഷാദ് ജനിച്ചു.
These [are] [the] accounts of Shem Shem [was] a son of one hundred year[s] and he fathered Arphaxad two years after the flood.
11 അർപ്പക്ഷാദിന് ജന്മംനൽകിയതിനുശേഷം ശേം അഞ്ഞൂറ് വർഷം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു; അദ്ദേഹത്തിൽനിന്ന് പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും ജനിച്ചു.
And he lived Shem after fathered he Arphaxad five hundred year[s] and he fathered sons and daughters.
12 അർപ്പക്ഷാദിനു മുപ്പത്തിയഞ്ച് വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ശേലഹ് ജനിച്ചു.
And Arphaxad he lived five and thirty year[s] and he fathered Shelah.
13 ശേലഹിന് ജന്മംനൽകിയതിനുശേഷം അർപ്പക്ഷാദ് നാനൂറ്റിമൂന്ന് വർഷം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു; അദ്ദേഹത്തിൽനിന്ന് പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും ജനിച്ചു.
And he lived Arphaxad after fathered he Shelah three years and four hundred year[s] and he fathered sons and daughters.
14 ശേലഹിനു മുപ്പത് വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ഏബെർ ജനിച്ചു.
And Shelah he lived thirty year[s] and he fathered Eber.
15 ഏബെരിന് ജന്മംനൽകിയതിനുശേഷം ശേലഹ് നാനൂറ്റിമൂന്ന് വർഷം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു; അദ്ദേഹത്തിൽനിന്ന് പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും ജനിച്ചു.
And he lived Shelah after fathered he Eber three years and four hundred year[s] and he fathered sons and daughters.
16 ഏബെരിനു മുപ്പത്തിനാല് വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് പേലെഗ് ജനിച്ചു.
And he lived Eber four and thirty year[s] and he fathered Peleg.
17 പേലെഗിന് ജന്മംനൽകിയതിനുശേഷം ഏബെർ നാനൂറ്റിമുപ്പത് വർഷം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു; അദ്ദേഹത്തിൽനിന്ന് പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും ജനിച്ചു.
And he lived Eber after fathered he Peleg thirty year[s] and four hundred year[s] and he fathered sons and daughters.
18 പേലെഗിനു മുപ്പത് വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് രെയൂ ജനിച്ചു.
And he lived Peleg thirty year[s] and he fathered Reu.
19 രെയൂവിന് ജന്മംനൽകിയതിനുശേഷം പേലെഗ് ഇരുനൂറ്റി ഒൻപത് വർഷം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു; അദ്ദേഹത്തിൽനിന്ന് പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും ജനിച്ചു.
And he lived Peleg after fathered he Reu nine years and two hundred year[s] and he fathered sons and daughters.
20 രെയൂവിനു മുപ്പത്തിരണ്ട് വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ശെരൂഗ് ജനിച്ചു.
And he lived Reu two and thirty year[s] and he fathered Serug.
21 ശെരൂഗിന് ജന്മംനൽകിയതിനുശേഷം രെയൂ ഇരുനൂറ്റിയേഴ് വർഷം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു; അദ്ദേഹത്തിൽനിന്ന് പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും ജനിച്ചു.
And he lived Reu after fathered he Serug seven years and two hundred year[s] and he fathered sons and daughters.
22 ശെരൂഗിനു മുപ്പത് വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് നാഹോർ ജനിച്ചു.
And he lived Serug thirty year[s] and he fathered Nahor.
23 നാഹോരിന് ജന്മംനൽകിയതിനുശേഷം ശെരൂഗ് ഇരുനൂറ് വർഷം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു; അദ്ദേഹത്തിൽനിന്ന് പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും ജനിച്ചു.
And he lived Serug after fathered he Nahor two hundred year[s] and he fathered sons and daughters.
24 നാഹോരിന് ഇരുപത്തിയൊൻപത് വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് തേരഹ് ജനിച്ചു.
And he lived Nahor nine and twenty year[s] and he fathered Terah.
25 തേരഹിന് ജന്മംനൽകിയതിനുശേഷം നാഹോർ നൂറ്റി പത്തൊൻപത് വർഷം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു; അദ്ദേഹത്തിൽനിന്ന് പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും ജനിച്ചു.
And he lived Nahor after fathered he Terah nine-teen year[s] and one hundred year[s] and he fathered sons and daughters.
26 തേരഹിനു എഴുപത് വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് അബ്രാമും നാഹോരും ഹാരാനും ജനിച്ചു.
And he lived Terah seventy year[s] and he fathered Abram Nahor and Haran.
27 തേരഹിന്റെ വംശപാരമ്പര്യം ഇപ്രകാരമാണ്: തേരഹിൽനിന്നാണ് അബ്രാമും നാഹോരും ഹാരാനും ജനിച്ചത്. ഹാരാനിൽനിന്ന് ലോത്ത് ജനിച്ചു.
And these [are] [the] accounts of Terah Terah he fathered Abram Nahor and Haran and Haran he fathered Lot.
28 ഹാരാൻ തന്റെ ജന്മദേശമായ കൽദയരുടെ പട്ടണമായ ഊരിൽവെച്ച് തന്റെ പിതാവായ തേരഹ് ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോൾത്തന്നെ മരിച്ചു.
And he died Haran on [the] face of Terah father his in [the] land of kindred his in Ur of [the] Chaldeans.
29 അബ്രാമും നാഹോരും വിവാഹിതരായി. അബ്രാമിന്റെ ഭാര്യയുടെ പേര് സാറായി എന്നും നാഹോരിന്റെ ഭാര്യയുടെ പേര് മിൽക്കാ എന്നും ആയിരുന്നു. (സാറായി ഹാരാന്റെ മകളായിരുന്നു; അവളുടെ സഹോദരിമാരായിരുന്നു മിൽക്കയും യിസ്കയും.)
And he took Abram and Nahor for themselves wives [the] name of [the] wife of Abram [was] Sarai and [the] name of [the] wife of Nahor [was] Milcah [the] daughter of Haran [the] father of Milcah and [the] father of Iscah.
30 സാറായി വന്ധ്യയായിരുന്നു; അവൾക്കു കുട്ടികൾ ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു.
And she was Sarai barren not [belonged] to her a child.
31 തേരഹ് തന്റെ പുത്രനായ അബ്രാമിനെയും ഹാരാന്റെ പുത്രനും തന്റെ പൗത്രനുമായ ലോത്തിനെയും അബ്രാമിന്റെ ഭാര്യയും തന്റെ മരുമകളുമായ സാറായിയെയുംകൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ട് കനാൻദേശത്തേക്കു പോകുന്നതിനു കൽദയരുടെ പട്ടണമായ ഊരിൽനിന്ന് യാത്രപുറപ്പെട്ടു; എന്നാൽ അവർ ഹാരാനിൽ എത്തി അവിടെ താമസമാക്കി.
And he took Terah Abram son his and Lot [the] son of Haran [the] son of son his and Sarai daughter-in-law his [the] wife of Abram son his and they went out with them from Ur of [the] Chaldeans to go [the] land of towards Canaan and they came to Haran and they dwelt there.
32 തേരഹിന്റെ ആയുസ്സ് ഇരുനൂറ്റിയഞ്ച് വർഷം ആയിരുന്നു. തേരഹ് ഹാരാനിൽവെച്ചു മരിച്ചു.
And they were [the] days of Terah five years and two hundred year[s] and he died Terah in Haran.
