ഉല്പത്തി 10
1 നോഹയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരായ ശേം, ഹാം, യാഫെത്ത് എന്നിവരുടെ വംശാവലി സംബന്ധിച്ച വിവരം: പ്രളയത്തിനുശേഷം അവർക്കു പുത്രന്മാരുണ്ടായി.
Now this is the history of the generations of the sons of Noah and of Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Sons were born to them after the flood.
2 യാഫെത്തിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: ഗോമെർ, മാഗോഗ്, മാദായി, യാവാൻ, തൂബാൽ, മേശെക്ക്, തീരാസ്.
The sons of Japheth were: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.
3 ഗോമെരിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: അശ്കേനസ്, രീഫത്ത്, തോഗർമാ.
The sons of Gomer were: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.
4 യാവാന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: എലീശാ, തർശീശ്, കിത്ത്യർ, ദോദാന്യർ.
The sons of Javan were: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
5 ഇവരിൽനിന്ന് കടലോരത്തും ദ്വീപുകളിലുമുള്ള ജനങ്ങൾ ഉത്ഭവിച്ചു. അവർ അതതുദേശങ്ങളിൽ അവരവരുടെ ഭാഷ സംസാരിച്ച് വിവിധഗോത്രങ്ങളും ജനതകളുമായി താമസിച്ചുവന്നു.
Of these were the islands of the nations divided in their lands, everyone after his language, after their families, in their nations.
6 ഹാമിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: കൂശ്, ഈജിപ്റ്റ്, പൂത്ത്, കനാൻ.
The sons of Ham were: Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.
7 കൂശിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: സേബ, ഹവീലാ, സബ്താ, രാമാ, സബ്തെക്കാ. രാമായുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ: ശേബാ, ദേദാൻ.
The sons of Cush were: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah were: Sheba and Dedan.
8 കൂശ് നിമ്രോദിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു. നിമ്രോദ് ഭൂമിയിൽ ആദ്യത്തെ മല്ലനായ പോരാളിയായിത്തീർന്നു.
Cush became the father of Nimrod. He began to be a mighty one in the earth.
9 അദ്ദേഹം യഹോവയുടെമുമ്പാകെ ശക്തനായൊരു നായാട്ടുവീരനായിരുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ടാണ്, “യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ, നിമ്രോദിനെപ്പോലെ നായാട്ടുവീരൻ” എന്നു ചൊല്ലുണ്ടായത്.
He was a mighty hunter before Yahweh. Therefore it is said, “like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before Yahweh”.
10 അയാളുടെ രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ പ്രഥമകേന്ദ്രങ്ങൾ ശിനാർ ദേശത്തു ബാബേൽ, ഏരെക്, അക്കാദ്, കൽനെ എന്നിവയായിരുന്നു.
The beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
11 അയാൾ അവിടെനിന്ന് അശ്ശൂരിലേക്കു തന്റെ രാജ്യം വിസ്തൃതമാക്കി, അവിടെ നിനവേ, രെഹോബോത്ത് പട്ടണം, കാലഹ്,
Out of that land he went into Assyria, and built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah,
12 നിനവേക്കും കാലഹിനും മധ്യേയുള്ള മഹാനഗരമായ രേസെൻ എന്നീ പട്ടണങ്ങളും പണിതു.

13 ലൂദീം, അനാമീം, ലെഹാബീം, നഫ്തൂഹീം,
Mizraim became the father of Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim,
14 പത്രൂസീം, കസ്ളൂഹീം (ഇവരിൽനിന്നാണ് ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ ഉത്ഭവിച്ചത്), കഫ്തോരീം എന്നീ വംശങ്ങളുടെ ഉത്ഭവം ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്നായിരുന്നു.

the Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites,
17 ഹിവ്യർ, അർഖ്യർ, സീന്യർ,
the Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites,
18 അർവാദ്യർ, സെമാര്യർ, ഹമാത്യർ. പിൽക്കാലത്ത് കനാന്യവംശങ്ങൾ ചിതറിപ്പോകുകയും
the Arvadites, the Zemarites, and the Hamathites. Afterward the families of the Canaanites were spread abroad.
19 കനാന്റെ അതിരുകൾ സീദോൻമുതൽ ഗെരാർവഴിയായി ഗസ്സാവരെയും സൊദോം, ഗൊമോറാ, ആദ്മാ, സെബോയീം എന്നിവ വഴിയായി ലാശാവരെയുമായിരുന്നു.
The border of the Canaanites was from Sidon—as you go toward Gerar—to Gaza—as you go toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim—to Lasha.
20 ഇവരാണ് തങ്ങളുടെ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും രാജ്യങ്ങളിലും കുലങ്ങളും ഭാഷകളും അനുസരിച്ചു ചിതറിത്താമസിച്ചിരുന്ന ഹാമിൻപുത്രന്മാർ.
These are the sons of Ham, after their families, according to their languages, in their lands and their nations.
21 യാഫെത്തിന്റെ മൂത്തസഹോദരനായ ശേമിനും പുത്രന്മാർ ജനിച്ചു; ഏബെരിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർക്കെല്ലാവർക്കും പൂർവപിതാവ് ശേം ആയിരുന്നു.
Children were also born to Shem (the elder brother of Japheth), the father of all the children of Eber.
22 ശേമിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: ഏലാം, അശ്ശൂർ, അർപ്പക്ഷാദ്, ലൂദ്, അരാം.
The sons of Shem were: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram.
23 അരാമിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: ഊസ്, ഹൂൾ, ഗേഥെർ, മേശെക്ക്.
The sons of Aram were: Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash.
24 അർപ്പക്ഷാദ് ശേലഹിന്റെ പിതാവും ശേലഹ് ഏബെരിന്റെ പിതാവുമായിരുന്നു.
Arpachshad became the father of Shelah. Shelah became the father of Eber.
25 ഏബെരിനു രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാർ ജനിച്ചു: ഒരുവന്റെ പേര് പേലെഗ് എന്നായിരുന്നു; കാരണം, അവന്റെ കാലത്തായിരുന്നു ഭൂവാസികൾ വിഭജിക്കപ്പെട്ടത്. അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ പേര് യോക്താൻ എന്നായിരുന്നു.
To Eber were born two sons. The name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided. His brother’s name was Joktan.

Joktan became the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,
27 ഹദോരാം, ഊസാൽ, ദിക്ലാ,
Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,
28 ഓബാൽ, അബീമായേൽ, ശേബാ,
Obal, Abimael, Sheba,
29 ഓഫീർ, ഹവീലാ, യോബാബ് ഇവരെല്ലാവരും യോക്താന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ ആയിരുന്നു.
Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.
30 അവർ അധിവസിച്ചിരുന്ന പ്രദേശം മേശാമുതൽ കിഴക്കൻ മലമ്പ്രദേശമായ സേഫാർവരെ വ്യാപിച്ചിരുന്നു.
Their dwelling extended from Mesha, as you go toward Sephar, the mountain of the east.
31 കുലങ്ങളും ഭാഷകളും അനുസരിച്ച് തങ്ങളുടെ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും രാജ്യങ്ങളിലും താമസിച്ചിരുന്ന ശേമ്യപുത്രന്മാർ ഇവരായിരുന്നു.
These are the sons of Shem, by their families, according to their languages, lands, and nations.
32 ദേശവും കുലവും അനുസരിച്ച് നോഹയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെ വംശാവലി ഇവയാണ്. ഇവരിൽനിന്നാണ് പ്രളയത്തിനുശേഷം ഭൂമിയിൽ ജനതകൾ വ്യാപിച്ചത്.
These are the families of the sons of Noah, by their generations, according to their nations. The nations divided from these in the earth after the flood.
