ഗലാത്യർ 4
1 ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞുവരുന്നത്, അവകാശി ശൈശവഘട്ടത്തിൽ ആയിരിക്കുന്നതുവരെ, സകലത്തിന്റെയും യഥാർഥ ഉടമസ്ഥനെങ്കിലും, പിതൃസ്വത്തിന്മേൽ യാതൊരവകാശവും ഉന്നയിക്കാൻ കഴിയാത്ത ഒരു ദാസനു തുല്യനാണ്.
What I am saying is that as long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a slave, although he is the owner of everything.
2 തന്റെ പിതാവു നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ദിവസംവരെ അയാൾ സംരക്ഷകരുടെയും കാര്യസ്ഥരുടെയും അധീനതയിലായിരിക്കും.
He is subject to guardians and trustees until the date set by his father.
3 അതുപോലെതന്നെ, നാമും ആത്മികശൈശവഘട്ടത്തിൽ ലോകത്തിന്റെ പ്രാഥമികശക്തികൾക്ക് അടിമകളായിരുന്നു.
So also, when we were children, we were enslaved under the basic principles of the world.
4 എന്നാൽ ദൈവം, സ്ത്രീയുടെ സന്തതിയായി ജനിച്ച് ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്ന് കീഴിൽ ജീവിക്കാനായി, നിയോഗിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന സമയത്തുതന്നെ അവിടത്തെ പുത്രനെ അയച്ചു.
But when the time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
5 ഇത് ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൻ കീഴിലുള്ളവരെയെല്ലാം വിലയ്ക്കു വാങ്ങുന്നതിനും നമുക്ക് പുത്രത്വം ലഭ്യമാക്കേണ്ടതിനും ആയിരുന്നു.
to redeem those under the law, that we might receive our adoption as sons.
6 ദൈവം അവിടത്തെ പുത്രന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ നമ്മുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളിലേക്ക് അയച്ചതോ, മക്കളായ നാം ദൈവത്തെ “അബ്ബാ, പിതാവേ” എന്നു വിളിക്കേണ്ടതിനാണ്.
And because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!”
7 നിങ്ങൾ ഇനിമേൽ ദാസരല്ല, മക്കളാണ്; മക്കൾ ആയതിലൂടെ ദൈവം നിങ്ങളെ അവിടത്തെ അവകാശികളും ആക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, you are also an heir through God.
8 മുമ്പേ, നിങ്ങൾ ദൈവത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് അറിവില്ലാത്തവർ ആയിരുന്നതിനാൽ; ദൈവങ്ങൾ അല്ലാത്ത എന്തിനൊക്കെയോ അടിമപ്പെട്ട് അവയെ സേവിച്ചുവരികയായിരുന്നു.
Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods.
9 എന്നാൽ, ഇപ്പോഴോ ദൈവത്തെ അറിഞ്ഞ നിങ്ങൾ—ദൈവം നിങ്ങളെയും അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കെ—നിഷ്‌പ്രയോജനവും മൂല്യഹീനവുമായ ചില പ്രാഥമികശക്തികളിലേക്ക് പിന്നെയും തിരിയുന്നതെങ്ങനെ? അവയ്ക്ക് വീണ്ടും അടിമപ്പെടാനാണോ നിങ്ങളുടെ ആഗ്രഹം?
But now that you know God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you are turning back to those weak and worthless principles? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again?
10 നിങ്ങൾ സവിശേഷദിവസങ്ങളും മാസങ്ങളും കാലങ്ങളും വർഷങ്ങളും ആചരിക്കുന്നു!
You are observing special days and months and seasons and years!
11 നിങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി അധ്വാനിച്ച എന്റെ പ്രയത്നമെല്ലാം വെറുതേയായിപ്പോയോ എന്നു ഞാൻ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു!
I fear for you, that my efforts for you may have been in vain.
12 സഹോദരങ്ങളേ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ ആയതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളും എന്നെപ്പോലെ ആകാൻ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോട് വിനീതമായി അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. നിങ്ങൾ എനിക്ക് ഒരു ദ്രോഹവും ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല.
I beg you, brothers, become like me, for I became like you. You have done me no wrong.
13 ഞാൻ ആദ്യം നിങ്ങളോടു സുവിശേഷം പ്രസംഗിക്കാൻ സംഗതിയായത് എന്റെ ശരീരത്തിലെ ബലഹീനത നിമിത്തമായിരുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കറിയാമല്ലോ.
You know that it was because of an illness that I first preached the gospel to you.
14 എന്റെ ശരീരത്തിന്റെ അവസ്ഥ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് വലിയ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ട് സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ അവഗണിക്കുകയോ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്തില്ല; മറിച്ച് ഒരു ദൈവദൂതനെപ്പോലെ, ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിനെപ്പോലെതന്നെ, എന്നെ സ്വീകരിച്ചല്ലോ.
And although my illness was a trial to you, you did not despise or reject me. Instead, you welcomed me as if I were an angel of God, as if I were Christ Jesus Himself.
15 അന്നത്തെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ആനന്ദം ഇപ്പോൾ എവിടെ? അന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ കണ്ണുകൾതന്നെയും ചൂഴ്‌ന്നെടുത്ത് എനിക്കു തരുമായിരുന്നു എന്ന് എനിക്കുറപ്പുണ്ട്.
What then has become of your blessing? For I can testify that, if it were possible, you would have torn out your eyes and given them to me.
16 എന്നാൽ, സത്യം സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു നിമിത്തം ഞാൻ ഇന്ന് നിങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുവായിത്തീർന്നോ?
Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth?
17 യെഹൂദാമതാനുസാരികൾ സദുദ്ദേശ്യത്തോടുകൂടിയല്ല നിങ്ങളോട് അമിതതാത്പര്യം കാട്ടുന്നത്; നിങ്ങളെ എന്നിൽനിന്ന് അകറ്റി അവരുടെ ഉപദേശത്തിലേക്കു നിങ്ങളെ ആകർഷിക്കുക എന്നതുമാത്രമാണ് അവരുടെ ലക്ഷ്യം.
Those people are zealous for you, but not in a good way. Instead, they want to isolate you from us, so that you may be zealous for them.
18 സദുദ്ദേശ്യത്തോടെ ചെയ്യുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങളിലുള്ള വ്യഗ്രത നല്ലതുതന്നെ, അതു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഉള്ളപ്പോൾമാത്രമല്ല, എപ്പോഴും അങ്ങനെയാകണമെന്നുമാത്രം.
Nevertheless, it is good to be zealous if it serves a noble purpose—at any time, and not only when I am with you.
19 എന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളേ! നിങ്ങൾ ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ യഥാർഥ അനുയായികൾ ആകുന്നതുവരെ, പ്രസവവേദനയനുഭവിക്കുന്ന ഒരു അമ്മയെപ്പോലെ അതികഠിനമായി ഞാൻ പിന്നെയും ക്ലേശം സഹിക്കുന്നു.
My children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you,
20 ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ അരികെ ആയിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ എന്നു ഞാൻ എത്ര ആശിച്ചുപോകുന്നു! അങ്ങനെയെങ്കിൽ ഒരുപക്ഷേ നിങ്ങളോടുള്ള സംഭാഷണത്തിന്റെ സ്വരം മാറിയേനെ. കാരണം, നിങ്ങളെ ഓർത്ത് ഞാൻ വളരെ അസ്വസ്ഥനാണ്.
how I wish I could be with you now and change my tone, because I am perplexed about you.
21 നിങ്ങൾ എന്നോടു പറയുക, ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിനു കീഴ്പ്പെട്ടിരിക്കാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന നിങ്ങൾ ന്യായപ്രമാണം എന്തുപറയുന്നു എന്നു വ്യക്തമായി മനസ്സിലാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ടോ?
Tell me, you who want to be under the law, do you not understand what the law says?
22 ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ ഇപ്രകാരമാണ് രേഖപ്പെടുത്തുന്നത്: അബ്രാഹാമിന് ദാസിയിൽനിന്നു ജനിച്ച ഒരുവനും സ്വതന്ത്രയിൽനിന്നു ജനിച്ച ഒരുവനുമായി രണ്ട് പുത്രന്മാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman.
23 ദാസിയിൽനിന്നു ജനിച്ച മകൻ മനുഷ്യതാത്പര്യത്താൽമാത്രം ജനിച്ചതും സ്വതന്ത്രയിൽനിന്നു ജനിച്ച മകൻ ദൈവികവാഗ്ദാനനിവൃത്തിയുമാകുന്നു.
His son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, but his son by the free woman was born through the promise.
24 ഈ രണ്ട് സ്ത്രീകൾ രണ്ട് ദൈവികഉടമ്പടികളുടെ പ്രതീകങ്ങളാണ്. ഒന്നാമത്തെ സ്ത്രീ ഹാഗർ, അടിമകളായ മക്കളെ പ്രസവിക്കുന്ന, സീനായിമലയുടെ പ്രതീകമാണ്.
These things serve as illustrations, for the women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children into slavery: This is Hagar.
25 ഹാഗർ എന്നത് അറേബ്യയിലെ സീനായി പർവതമാണ് സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. അത് ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ ജെറുശലേമിനെ കുറിക്കുന്നു. കാരണം, അവർ അവളുടെ മക്കളോടുകൂടെ ഇപ്പോൾ അടിമത്തത്തിലാണു കഴിയുന്നത്.
Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present-day Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children.
26 സാറയോ, സ്വർഗീയജെറുശലേമിന്റെ പ്രതീകമാണ്. സ്വതന്ത്രയായ അവളാണ് നമ്മുടെ മാതാവ്.
But the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother.
27 കാരണം, തിരുവെഴുത്തിൽ ഇങ്ങനെ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു: “വന്ധ്യയായവളേ ആനന്ദിക്കുക; ഒരു കുഞ്ഞിനും ജന്മം നൽകിയിട്ടില്ലാത്തവളേ, പ്രസവവേദന എന്തെന്ന് അറിയാത്തവളേ, ആനന്ദത്താൽ ആർത്തുഘോഷിക്കുക! കാരണം, പരിത്യക്തയുടെ മക്കൾ ഭർത്താവുള്ളവളുടെ മക്കളെക്കാൾ അധികം.”
For it is written: “Rejoice, O barren woman, who bears no children; break forth and cry aloud, you who have never travailed; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband.”
28 എന്നാൽ സഹോദരങ്ങളേ, നാമോ യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെപ്പോലെ വാഗ്ദാനസന്തതികളാണ്.
Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise.
29 മനുഷ്യതാത്പര്യത്താൽ ജനിച്ചവൻ അന്ന്, വാഗ്ദാനനിവൃത്തിയായി ജനിച്ചവനെ ഉപദ്രവിച്ചതുപോലെയാണ് ഇപ്പോഴും സംഭവിക്കുന്നത്.
At that time, however, the son born by the flesh persecuted the son born by the Spirit. It is the same now.
30 എന്നാൽ, തിരുവെഴുത്ത് എന്തുപറയുന്നു? “ദാസിയുടെ മകൻ സ്വതന്ത്രയുടെ മകനുമായി ഒരിക്കലും ഓഹരി പങ്കിടാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ആ ദാസിയെയും അവളുടെ മകനെയും പുറത്താക്കിക്കളയണം” എന്നാണല്ലോ.
But what does the Scripture say? “Expel the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s son.”
31 ആകയാൽ സഹോദരങ്ങളേ, നാം ദാസിയുടെയല്ല; സ്വതന്ത്രയുടെ മക്കളാണ്.
Therefore, brothers, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.
