യെഹെസ്കേൽ 9

1 അതിനുശേഷം ഞാൻ കേൾക്കെ അവിടന്ന് ഉച്ചത്തിൽ വിളിച്ച്: “നഗരത്തിൽ ശിക്ഷ നടപ്പാക്കുന്നവരേ, നിങ്ങൾ ഓരോരുത്തരും വിനാശം വിതയ്ക്കുന്ന ആയുധങ്ങളും കൈയിലേന്തി അടുത്തുവരിക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he called before my ears with a loud voice, saying, Let those come near that have charge to punish the city, and every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.

2 അപ്പോൾ ആറു പുരുഷന്മാർ വടക്കോട്ടു ദർശനമുള്ള മുകളിലത്തെ കവാടത്തിൽനിന്ന് കൈയിൽ മാരകായുധങ്ങൾ ഏന്തിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. അവരോടൊപ്പം ചണവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ച് ഒരു മനുഷ്യനുമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കൈവശം എഴുത്തുസാമഗ്രികൾ നിറച്ച ഒരു സഞ്ചി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവർ അകത്തുവന്ന് വെങ്കലയാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ നിന്നു.

And, behold, six men came from the direction of the upper gate, which is turned toward the north, and every man with his weapon of destruction in his hand; and one man in the midst of them was clothed in linen, with a writer's materials by his side: and they went in, and placed themselves beside the copper altar.

3 അപ്പോൾ ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മഹത്ത്വം അത് അധിവസിച്ചിരുന്ന കെരൂബിൽനിന്ന് പുറപ്പെട്ട് ആലയത്തിന്റെ പ്രവേശനകവാടത്തിൽ വന്നു. ചണവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ച് അരയിൽ എഴുത്തുസാമഗ്രികളുമായി വന്ന മനുഷ്യനെ യഹോവ വിളിച്ചു.

And the glory of the God of Israel ascended up from the cherub, whereupon it had been, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed in linen, who had the writer's materials by his side.

4 യഹോവ അവനോട്, “ജെറുശലേം പട്ടണത്തിൽക്കൂടി നടന്ന് അതിൽ നടമാടുന്ന എല്ലാ മ്ലേച്ഛതകളെയും ഓർത്ത് നെടുവീർപ്പിട്ടു കരയുന്നവരുടെ നെറ്റിയിൽ ഒരു ചിഹ്നം ഇടുക” എന്നു കൽപ്പിച്ചു.

And the Lord said unto him, Pass through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and inscribe a mark upon the foreheads of the men who sigh and who complain because of all the abominations which are done in the midst of it.

5 എന്നാൽ മറ്റുള്ളവരോട് ഞാൻ കേൾക്കെ അവിടന്ന് കൽപ്പിച്ചത്: “അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ നഗരത്തിലൂടെച്ചെന്ന് വധിക്കുക; ദയയോ അനുകമ്പയോ കാണിക്കരുത്.

And to the others he said before my ears, Pass ye through the city after him, and smite: let your eye not look with pity, and do not spare;

6 വൃദ്ധന്മാരെയും യുവാക്കളെയും യുവതികളെയും മാതാക്കളെയും കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെയും നിശ്ശേഷം കൊന്നുകളവിൻ, എന്നാൽ അടയാളമുള്ള ഒരുവനെയും തൊടരുത്. എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തിൽനിന്നു തുടങ്ങുവിൻ.” അങ്ങനെ അവർ ആലയത്തിന്റെ മുന്നിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന നേതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നുതന്നെ ആരംഭിച്ചു.

The aged, youth, and virgin, and little children, and women shall ye slay and destroy; but come not near any man upon whom the mark is; and at my sanctuary shall ye begin. Then they began with the ancient men who were before the house.

7 അവിടന്ന് അവരോട്: “പോകുക! ആലയത്തെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കി, അങ്കണം വധിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരെക്കൊണ്ടു നിറയ്ക്കുക” എന്നു കൽപ്പിച്ചു. അങ്ങനെ അവർ പുറപ്പെട്ട് നഗരത്തിലുടനീളം ജനത്തെ വെട്ടിവീഴ്ത്താൻ ആരംഭിച്ചു.

And he said unto them, Make unclean the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go forth. And they went forth, and they smote in the city.

8 അവർ ഇങ്ങനെ വധിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ, ഞാൻമാത്രം ശേഷിച്ചു. അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ കമിഴ്ന്നുവീണ് ഇപ്രകാരം നിലവിളിച്ചു: “അയ്യോ! യഹോവയായ കർത്താവേ, അവിടന്ന് ജെറുശലേമിൽ അവിടത്തെ ക്രോധം പകർന്ന് ഇസ്രായേലിലെ ശേഷിപ്പിനെ മുഴുവൻ സംഹരിക്കുകയാണോ?”

And it came to pass, while they were smiting them, and I alone was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried out, and said, Ah Lord Eternal! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel when thou pourest out thy fury over Jerusalem?

9 അപ്പോൾ അവിടന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു: “ഇസ്രായേൽഗൃഹത്തിന്റെയും യെഹൂദയുടെയും അകൃത്യം വളരെ വലുതാണ്. ദേശം രക്തപാതകംകൊണ്ടും നഗരം അതിക്രമംകൊണ്ടും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. ‘യഹോവ ദേശത്തെ കൈവിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവ കാണുന്നില്ല,’ എന്ന് അവർ പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and of Judah is exceedingly great, and the land is full of blood-guiltiness, and the city full of injustice; for they have said, The Lord hath forsaken the land, and the Lord seeth not.

10 അതുകൊണ്ട് എന്റെ കണ്ണുകൾ അവരോട് അനുകമ്പ കാട്ടുകയോ ഞാൻ വിട്ടുവീഴ്ച കാണിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുകയില്ല. അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾക്ക് അനുസൃതമായി ഞാൻ അവരുടെ തലമേൽ പകരംവീട്ടും.”

And as for me also, my eye shall not look with pity, and I will not spare; but I will bring their course upon their own head.

11 അപ്പോൾ അരയിൽ എഴുത്തുസാമഗ്രികളേന്തിയ ചണവസ്ത്രധാരിയായ പുരുഷൻ: “എന്നോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഞാൻ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

And, behold, the man clothed in linen, who had the writing materials by his side, brought back word, saying, I have done according to all that thou hast commanded me.
