യെഹെസ്കേൽ 20
1 ഏഴാംവർഷം അഞ്ചാംമാസം പത്താംതീയതി ഇസ്രായേലിലെ ഗോത്രത്തലവന്മാരിൽ ചിലർ യഹോവയോട് അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിക്കുന്നതിനായി വന്ന് എന്റെമുമ്പിൽ ഇരുന്നു.
In the seventh year, on the tenth day of the fifth month, some of the elders of Israel came to inquire of the LORD, and they sat down before me.
2 അപ്പോൾ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട് എനിക്ക് ഇപ്രകാരം ഉണ്ടായി:
Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
3 “മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നീ ഇസ്രായേൽ ഗോത്രത്തലവന്മാരോട് സംസാരിക്കുക, ‘നിങ്ങൾ എന്നോട് അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിക്കാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നോ? നിങ്ങൾ ചോദിച്ചാൽ ഞാൻ ഉത്തരം നൽകുകയില്ല എന്ന് ജീവനുള്ള ഞാൻ ശപഥംചെയ്യുന്നു, എന്ന് യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു’ എന്നു പറയുക.
“Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel and tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: Have you come to inquire of Me? As surely as I live, I will not be consulted by you, declares the Lord GOD.
4 “നീ അവരെ ന്യായംവിധിക്കുമോ? മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നീ അവരെ ന്യായംവിധിക്കുമോ? അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ മ്ലേച്ഛതകൾ നീ അവരെ അറിയിക്കുക.
Will you judge them, will you judge them, son of man? Confront them with the abominations of their fathers
5 എന്നിട്ട് അവരോടു പറയുക: ‘യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ ഇസ്രായേലിനെ തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത ദിവസംതന്നെ, യാക്കോബ് ഗൃഹത്തിലെ സന്തതികളോടു കൈയുയർത്തി ശപഥംചെയ്ത് ഈജിപ്റ്റുദേശത്തുവെച്ച് എന്നെത്തന്നെ അവർക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയിരുന്നു. “ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു,” എന്ന് കൈയുയർത്തി അവരോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
and tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: On the day I chose Israel, I swore an oath to the descendants of the house of Jacob and made Myself known to them in the land of Egypt. With an uplifted hand I said to them, ‘I am the LORD your God.’
6 ഈജിപ്റ്റുദേശത്തുനിന്ന് അവരെ പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ച് ഞാൻ അവർക്കുവേണ്ടി തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തതും പാലും തേനും ഒഴുകുന്ന ദേശത്തേക്കും, എല്ലാ ദേശങ്ങളിലുംവെച്ച് മനോഹരമായിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തിലേക്ക് അവരെ കൊണ്ടുവരുമെന്ന് അന്നു ഞാൻ അവരോടു ശപഥംചെയ്തു.
On that day I swore to bring them out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, a land flowing with milk and honey, the glory of all lands.
7 ഞാൻ അവരോട്: “നിങ്ങളിൽ ഓരോരുത്തനും താന്താങ്ങളുടെ കണ്ണിൽ മലിനമായിരിക്കുന്ന വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ എറിഞ്ഞുകളയുക. ഈജിപ്റ്റിലെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ അശുദ്ധരാക്കരുത്; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു, എന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.”
And I said to them: ‘Each of you must throw away the abominations before his eyes, and you must not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.’
8 “‘എന്നാൽ അവർ എനിക്കെതിരേ മത്സരിച്ചു. എന്നെ അനുസരിക്കാൻ അവർക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടായില്ല. അവർ ദൃഷ്ടിവെച്ചിരുന്ന നിന്ദ്യമായ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ അവർ നീക്കിക്കളയുകയോ ഈജിപ്റ്റിലെ ബിംബങ്ങളെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്തില്ല. അതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ ഈജിപ്റ്റുദേശത്തിന്റെ നടുവിൽവെച്ച് എന്റെ ക്രോധം അവരുടെമേൽ ചൊരിഞ്ഞ് എന്റെ കോപം അവരുടെമേൽ ചെലവഴിക്കും എന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
But they rebelled against Me and refused to listen. None of them cast away the abominations before their eyes, and they did not forsake the idols of Egypt. So I resolved to pour out My wrath upon them and vent My anger against them in the land of Egypt.
9 എന്നാൽ എന്റെ നാമംനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ അവരെ ഈജിപ്റ്റുദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. അവരുടെ നിവാസസ്ഥാനത്തിനുചുറ്റും അധിവസിച്ചുവന്ന ഇതര രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾക്കിടയിലും അവർ കാൺകെത്തന്നെ എന്നെത്തന്നെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയതുമായ ജനത്തിന്റെ മധ്യത്തിൽ എന്റെ നാമം അശുദ്ധമാകാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിനും ഞാൻ അപ്രകാരംചെയ്തു.
But I acted for the sake of My name, that it should not be profaned in the eyes of the nations among whom they were living, in whose sight I had revealed Myself to Israel by bringing them out of the land of Egypt.
10 അങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ അവരെ ഈജിപ്റ്റുദേശത്തുനിന്ന് പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ച് മരുഭൂമിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
So I brought them out of the land of Egypt and led them into the wilderness.
11 അവർക്കു ഞാൻ എന്റെ ഉത്തരവുകൾ നൽകുകയും എന്റെ നിയമങ്ങൾ അവരെ അറിയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. അവയെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ അവയാൽ ജീവിക്കും.
And I gave them My statutes and made known to them My ordinances—for the man who does these things will live by them.
12 മാത്രമല്ല, എനിക്കും അവർക്കും മധ്യേ ഒരു ചിഹ്നമായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിനും ഞാൻ അവരെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവ ആകുന്നു എന്ന് അവർ അറിയുന്നതിനുംവേണ്ടി ഞാൻ എന്റെ ശബ്ബത്തുകൾ അവർക്കു കൽപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.
I also gave them My Sabbaths as a sign between us, so that they would know that I am the LORD who sanctifies them.
13 “‘എന്നാൽ ഇസ്രായേൽജനം മരുഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ച് എന്നോടു മത്സരിച്ചു; അവർ എന്റെ ഉത്തരവുകൾ പാലിക്കാതെ എന്റെ നിയമങ്ങൾ നിരസിച്ചു—അവയെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ അവയാൽ ജീവിക്കും—എന്റെ ശബ്ബത്തുകളെ അവർ അത്യന്തം അശുദ്ധമാക്കി. അപ്പോൾ അവരെ സംഹരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് മരുഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ച് എന്റെ ക്രോധം അവരുടെമേൽ ചൊരിയാൻ ഞാൻ നിശ്ചയിച്ചു.
Yet the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness. They did not follow My statutes and they rejected My ordinances—though the man who does these things will live by them—and they utterly profaned My Sabbaths. Then I resolved to pour out My wrath upon them and put an end to them in the wilderness.
14 ഞാൻ അവരെ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്ന് പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചതു കണ്ട രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ എന്റെ നാമം മലിനമാകാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഞാൻ അതിനുവേണ്ടി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.
But I acted for the sake of My name, so that it would not be profaned in the eyes of the nations in whose sight I had brought them out.
15 അവരുടെ ഹൃദയം നിരന്തരം അവരുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങൾക്കു സമർപ്പിതമായിരുന്നതുമൂലം അവർ എന്റെ നിയമങ്ങൾ അനുസരിക്കാതിരിക്കുകയും ഉത്തരവുകൾ പാലിക്കാതിരിക്കുകയും എന്റെ ശബ്ബത്തുകൾ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. അതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ അവർക്കു നൽകിയ, പാലും തേനും ഒഴുകുന്നതും സകലദേശങ്ങളിലുംവെച്ച് ഏറ്റവും മനോഹരവുമായ ദേശത്തേക്ക് അവരെ കൊണ്ടുവരികയില്ല എന്ന് മരുഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ച് ഞാൻ അവരോടു കൈയുയർത്തി ശപഥംചെയ്തു.
Moreover, with an uplifted hand I swore to them in the wilderness that I would not bring them into the land that I had given them—a land flowing with milk and honey, the glory of all lands—
because they kept rejecting My ordinances, refusing to walk in My statutes, and profaning My Sabbaths; for their hearts continually went after their idols.
17 എങ്കിലും എനിക്ക് അവരോടു സഹതാപം തോന്നിയതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ അവരെ നശിപ്പിക്കുകയും മരുഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ച് അവരെ നാമാവശേഷമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യാതിരുന്നു.
Yet I looked on them with pity and did not destroy them or bring them to an end in the wilderness.
18 മരുഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ച് ഞാൻ അവരുടെ സന്താനങ്ങളോട്: “നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ നിയമവ്യവസ്ഥകൾ അനുവർത്തിക്കുകയോ അവരുടെ നിയമങ്ങൾ പ്രമാണിക്കയോ അവരുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളാൽ നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുകയോചെയ്യരുത്.
In the wilderness I said to their children: ‘Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers or keep their ordinances or defile yourselves with their idols.
19 ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ ഉത്തരവുകളിൽ പാലിക്കുകയും എന്റെ നിയമങ്ങൾ അനുഷ്ഠിക്കയും ചെയ്യുക.
I am the LORD your God; walk in My statutes, keep My ordinances, and practice them.
20 എന്റെ ശബ്ബത്തുകളെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിപ്പിൻ; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയേണ്ടതിന് അവ എനിക്കും നിങ്ങൾക്കും മധ്യേ ഒരു ചിഹ്നമായിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു കൽപ്പിച്ചു.”
Keep My Sabbaths holy, that they may be a sign between us, so that you may know that I am the LORD your God.’
21 “‘എന്നാൽ അവരുടെ മക്കളും എനിക്കെതിരേ മത്സരിച്ചു; അവർ എന്റെ ഉത്തരവുകൾ പാലിക്കുകയോ, “അവയെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ അവയാൽ ജീവിക്കും,” എന്നു ഞാൻ പ്രഖ്യാപനംചെയ്തിരുന്ന എന്റെ നിയമങ്ങൾ പ്രമാണിക്കാൻ മനസ്സുവെക്കുകയോ ചെയ്തില്ല. അവർ എന്റെ ശബ്ബത്തുകൾ അശുദ്ധമാക്കി. അതിനാൽ മരുഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ച് അവർക്കെതിരേ എന്റെ ക്രോധം അവരുടെമേൽ ചൊരിയണമെന്നും എന്റെ കോപം അവരുടെമേൽ നിവർത്തിക്കണമെന്നും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
But the children rebelled against Me. They did not walk in My statutes or carefully observe My ordinances—though the man who does these things will live by them—and they profaned My Sabbaths. So I resolved to pour out My wrath upon them and vent My anger against them in the wilderness.
22 എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ അവരെ പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചതു കണ്ടതായ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളുടെമുമ്പിൽ എന്റെ നാമം അശുദ്ധമാകാതിരിക്കാൻ ഞാൻ എന്റെ കരം പിൻവലിച്ചു.
But I withheld My hand and acted for the sake of My name, so that it would not be profaned in the eyes of the nations in whose sight I had brought them out.
23 അവർ എന്റെ നിയമങ്ങൾ അനുസരിക്കാതെ എന്റെ ഉത്തരവുകൾ നിരസിച്ചുകളകയും എന്റെ ശബ്ബത്തുകളെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുകയും അവരുടെ ദൃഷ്ടികൾ അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളുടെമേൽ ഇരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതിനാൽ ഞാൻ അവരെ ഈ ജനതകൾക്കിടയിൽ ചിതറിക്കുകയും രാജ്യങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ ഛിന്നഭിന്നമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമെന്നു മരുഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ച് ഞാൻ കൈയുയർത്തി അവരോടു ശപഥംചെയ്തു.
However, with an uplifted hand I swore to them in the wilderness that I would scatter them among the nations and disperse them throughout the lands.
For they did not practice My ordinances, but they rejected My statutes and profaned My Sabbaths, fixing their eyes on the idols of their fathers.
25 അതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ അവർക്കു നന്മയല്ലാത്ത നിയമവ്യവസ്ഥകളും ജീവിക്കാൻ ഉപകരിക്കാത്ത നിയമങ്ങളും നൽകി;
I also gave them over to statutes that were not good and ordinances by which they could not live.
26 അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ആദ്യജാതന്മാരെയെല്ലാം അഗ്നിപ്രവേശം ചെയ്യിച്ചതുകൊണ്ട് അവരിൽ ഭീതി നിറയ്ക്കാനായി തങ്ങളുടെ വഴിപാടുകളാൽത്തന്നെ ഞാൻ അവരെ അശുദ്ധരാക്കി; ഞാൻ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു എന്ന് അവർ അറിയേണ്ടതിനുതന്നെ.’
And I pronounced them unclean through their gifts—the sacrifice of every firstborn in the fire—so that I might devastate them, in order that they would know that I am the LORD.
27 “അതുകൊണ്ട് മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നീ ഇസ്രായേൽജനത്തോട്, ‘ഇതാകുന്നു യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നത്: ഇക്കാര്യത്തിലും നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ എനിക്കെതിരേ അവിശ്വസ്തരായി തീർന്നതിനാൽ എന്നെ നിന്ദിക്കുകയാണ് ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ളത്.
Therefore, son of man, speak to the house of Israel, and tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: In this way also your fathers blasphemed Me by their unfaithfulness against Me.
28 ഞാൻ അവർക്കു കൊടുക്കുമെന്നു കൈയുയർത്തി ശപഥംചെയ്ത ദേശത്തേക്ക് ഞാൻ അവരെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നശേഷം അവിടെയുള്ള എല്ലാ ഉയർന്ന മലകളും തഴച്ചുവളരുന്ന വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും അവർ തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത് അവിടെയെല്ലാം യാഗമർപ്പിക്കുകയും എന്റെ കോപം ജ്വലിപ്പിക്കുംവിധം ബലിയർപ്പിക്കുകയും സുഗന്ധധൂപം നിവേദിക്കുകയും പാനീയബലികൾ പകരുകയും ചെയ്തു.
When I brought them into the land that I swore to give them and they saw any high hill or leafy tree, there they offered their sacrifices, presented offerings that provoked Me, sent up their fragrant incense, and poured out their drink offerings.
29 അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ അവരോട്, നിങ്ങൾ പോകുന്ന ക്ഷേത്രം ഏത്?’” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിനാൽ ഇപ്രകാരമുള്ള ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ ഇന്നുവരെയും ബാമാ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
So I asked them: ‘What is this high place to which you go?’ (And to this day it is called Bamah.)
30 “അതിനാൽ ഇസ്രായേൽജനത്തോടു പറയുക: ‘യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ പാരമ്പര്യമനുസരിച്ച് നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ അശുദ്ധരാക്കുകയും അവരുടെ മ്ലേച്ഛവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ മോഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമോ?
Therefore tell the house of Israel that this is what the Lord GOD says: Will you defile yourselves the way your fathers did, prostituting yourselves with their abominations?
31 നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ വഴിപാട് അർപ്പിച്ച്—നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളെ അഗ്നിപ്രവേശം ചെയ്യിച്ച്—നിങ്ങൾ ഇന്നുവരെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ എല്ലാ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ടും നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ അശുദ്ധരാക്കുകയാണു ചെയ്യുന്നത്. അങ്ങനെയിരിക്കെ, ഇസ്രായേൽജനമേ, നിങ്ങൾ എന്നോട് അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിക്കാൻ ഞാൻ അനുവദിക്കണമോ? ജീവനുള്ള ഞാൻ ശപഥംചെയ്യുന്നു, നിങ്ങൾ ചോദിച്ചാൽ ഞാൻ ഉത്തരം നൽകുകയില്ല എന്ന് യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
When you offer your gifts, sacrificing your sons in the fire, you continue to defile yourselves with all your idols to this day. So should I be consulted by you, O house of Israel? As surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, I will not be consulted by you!
32 “‘“മരത്തെയും കല്ലിനെയും സേവിക്കുന്ന രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളെപ്പോലെയും ലോകത്തിലെ ജനതകളെപ്പോലെയും ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് ആകണം,” എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നു; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ മനസ്സിലെ സങ്കൽപ്പം ഒരിക്കലും നടക്കുകയില്ല.
When you say, ‘Let us be like the nations, like the peoples of the lands, serving wood and stone,’ what you have in mind will never come to pass.
33 ജീവനുള്ള ഞാൻ ശപഥംചെയ്യുന്നു, ബലമുള്ള കൈകൊണ്ടും നീട്ടിയ ഭുജംകൊണ്ടും ക്രോധവർഷംകൊണ്ടും ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ ഭരിക്കും, എന്ന് യഹോവയായ കർത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
As surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, with a strong hand, an outstretched arm, and outpoured wrath I will rule over you.
34 ബലമുള്ള കൈകൊണ്ടും നീട്ടിയ ഭുജംകൊണ്ടും ക്രോധവർഷംകൊണ്ടും ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ ജനതകൾക്കിടയിൽനിന്നു തിരിയെ വരുത്തുകയും നിങ്ങൾ ചിതറിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്ന രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു ശേഖരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
With a strong hand, an outstretched arm, and outpoured wrath I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you from the lands to which you have been scattered.
35 ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ ജനതകളുടെ മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന് അവിടെവെച്ച് അഭിമുഖമായി നിങ്ങളുടെ ന്യായവിധി നടപ്പിലാക്കും.
And I will bring you into the wilderness of the nations, where I will enter into judgment with you face to face.
36 ഈജിപ്റ്റുദേശത്തിലെ മരുഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ച് ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ ന്യായംവിധിച്ചതുപോലെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെയും ന്യായംവിധിക്കും, എന്ന് യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
Just as I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will enter into judgment with you, declares the Lord GOD.
37 ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ എന്റെ വടിക്കുകീഴിൽ നടത്തുകയും ഉടമ്പടിയുടെ ബന്ധനത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവരികയും ചെയ്യും.
I will make you pass under the rod and will bring you into the bond of the covenant.
38 എന്നോട് മത്സരിച്ച് എനിക്കെതിരേ അക്രമം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്ന് നീക്കിക്കളയും; അവർ ചെന്നുപാർക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തുനിന്നു ഞാൻ അവരെ പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കും; എങ്കിലും അവർ ഇസ്രായേൽദേശത്തു പ്രവേശിക്കുകയില്ല. അങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയും.
And I will purge you of those who rebel and transgress against Me. I will bring them out of the land in which they dwell, but they will not enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
39 “‘ഇസ്രായേൽജനമേ, നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ ഓരോരുത്തരും പോയി അവരവരുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ സേവിച്ചുകൊൾക; എന്നാൽ പിന്നീട് നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വാക്കു ശ്രദ്ധിക്കും; നിങ്ങളുടെ വഴിപാടുകളും വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളുംകൊണ്ട് പിന്നെയൊരിക്കലും എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധനാമത്തെ നിങ്ങൾ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുകയില്ല.
And as for you, O house of Israel, this is what the Lord GOD says: Go and serve your idols, every one of you. But afterward, you will surely listen to Me, and you will no longer defile My holy name with your gifts and idols.
40 എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധപർവതത്തിൽ, ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ഉന്നതഗിരിയിൽത്തന്നെ എല്ലാ ഇസ്രായേൽഗൃഹവും, ഒന്നൊഴിയാതെ സ്വന്ത ദേശത്തുവെച്ച് എന്നെ സേവിക്കുമെന്ന് യഹോവയായ കർത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാട്. അവിടെ ഞാൻ അവരെ കൈക്കൊള്ളും. അവിടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ വിശിഷ്ടദാനങ്ങളായ വഴിപാടുകളെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ യാഗങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഞാൻ ആവശ്യപ്പെടും.
For on My holy mountain, the high mountain of Israel, declares the Lord GOD, there the whole house of Israel, all of them, will serve Me in the land. There I will accept them and will require your offerings and choice gifts, along with all your holy sacrifices.
41 ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ ജനതകളിൽനിന്നു തിരികെ വരുത്തുകയും നിങ്ങൾ ചിതറിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു ശേഖരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ സുഗന്ധധൂപമായി നിങ്ങളെ കൈക്കൊള്ളും. രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾ കാൺകെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളിലൂടെ പരിശുദ്ധൻ എന്നു തെളിയിക്കപ്പെടും.
When I bring you from the peoples and gather you from the lands to which you have been scattered, I will accept you as a pleasing aroma. And I will show My holiness through you in the sight of the nations.
42 നിങ്ങളുടെ പൂർവികർക്കു കൊടുക്കുമെന്നു ഞാൻ കൈയുയർത്തി ശപഥംചെയ്ത ദേശമായ ഇസ്രായേൽദേശത്തേക്കു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ കൊണ്ടുവരുമ്പോൾ, ഞാൻ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയും.
Then you will know that I am the LORD, when I bring you into the land of Israel, the land that I swore to give your fathers.
43 അവിടെവെച്ചു നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ അശുദ്ധരാക്കിയ നിങ്ങളുടെ പെരുമാറ്റവും നിങ്ങളുടെ എല്ലാ പ്രവൃത്തികളും ഓർക്കും. നിങ്ങൾ ചെയ്ത എല്ലാ ദുഷ്ടതകളുംനിമിത്തം നിങ്ങൾക്കു നിങ്ങളോടുതന്നെ വെറുപ്പുതോന്നും.
There you will remember your ways and all the deeds with which you have defiled yourselves, and you will loathe yourselves for all the evils you have done.
44 ഇസ്രായേൽജനമേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ ദുഷ്ടവഴികളോ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദുഷിച്ച പ്രവൃത്തികളോ അനുസരിച്ചല്ല, എന്റെ നാമം നിമിത്തംതന്നെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു ഇടപെടുമ്പോൾ, ഞാൻ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയും എന്ന് യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.’”
Then you will know, O house of Israel, that I am the LORD, when I have dealt with you for the sake of My name and not according to your wicked ways and corrupt acts, declares the Lord GOD.”
45 യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട് എനിക്ക് ഇപ്രകാരം ഉണ്ടായി:
Now the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
46 “മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നീ തെക്കോട്ടു നിന്റെ മുഖംതിരിച്ച് തെക്കേദിക്കിനെതിരായി, തെക്കേദിക്കിലുള്ള വനത്തിനെതിരായിത്തന്നെ പ്രവചിക്കുക.
“Son of man, set your face toward the south, preach against it, and prophesy against the forest of the Negev.
47 തെക്കേദിക്കിലെ കാടുകളോട് ഇപ്രകാരം പറയുക: ‘യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേൾക്കുക, യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഇതാ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ അഗ്നിക്കിരയാക്കാൻ പോകുന്നു. അത് നിങ്ങളിലുള്ള എല്ലാ പച്ചമരത്തെയും ഉണങ്ങിയമരത്തെയും ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും. കത്തിയാളുന്ന ആ തീജ്വാല അണയ്ക്കപ്പെടുകയില്ല; തെക്കുമുതൽ വടക്കുവരെയുള്ള സകലമുഖങ്ങളും അതിനാൽ കരിഞ്ഞുപോകും.
Say to the forest of the Negev: Hear the word of the LORD! This is what the Lord GOD says: I am about to ignite in you a fire, and it will devour all your trees, both green and dry. The blazing flame will not be quenched, and by it every face from south to north will be scorched.
48 യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ അതു ജ്വലിപ്പിച്ചെന്ന് സകലരും കാണും; അത് അണഞ്ഞുപോകുകയില്ല.’”
Then all people will see that I, the LORD, have kindled it; it will not be quenched.”
49 അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ: “യഹോവയായ കർത്താവേ, അവൻ എന്നെക്കുറിച്ച്, ‘അവൻ സാദൃശ്യകഥകളാണല്ലോ സംസാരിക്കുന്നത്,’ എന്നു പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Then I said, “Ah, Lord GOD, they are saying of me, ‘Is he not just telling parables?’”
