പുറപ്പാട് 23

1 “വ്യാജവാർത്ത പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കരുത്. ദുഷ്ടരായവരെ സഹായിക്കാൻ കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷിയാകരുത്.

You must not give a false report about anyone. Do not join with a wicked man to be a dishonest witness.

2 “ദോഷം പ്രവർത്തിക്കാൻ ഭൂരിപക്ഷത്തോടു യോജിക്കരുത്. വ്യവഹാരത്തിൽ സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുമ്പോൾ ജനക്കൂട്ടത്തോടുചേർന്നു ന്യായം അട്ടിമറിക്കരുത്.

You must not follow a crowd to do evil, nor may you bear witness while siding with the crowd in order to pervert justice.

3 ദരിദ്രന്റെ വ്യവഹാരത്തിൽ ആ വ്യക്തിയോടു പക്ഷഭേദം കാട്ടുകയും അരുത്.

You must not show favoritism to a poor man in his lawsuit.

4 “നിന്റെ ശത്രുവിന്റെ കാളയോ കഴുതയോ അലഞ്ഞുതിരിയുന്നതായി കണ്ടാൽ നിശ്ചയമായും അതിനെ ആ മനുഷ്യന്റെ അടുക്കൽ തിരിച്ചെത്തിക്കണം.

If you meet your enemy's ox or his donkey going astray, you must bring it back to him.

5 നിന്നെ വെറുക്കുന്ന ആരുടെയെങ്കിലും കഴുത അതിന്റെ ചുമടിനുകീഴിൽ വീണുകിടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടാൽ അതിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു പോകരുത്. അക്കാര്യത്തിൽ അവരെ നിശ്ചയമായും സഹായിക്കണം.

If you see the donkey of someone who hates you fallen to the ground under its load, you must not leave that person. You must surely help him with his donkey.

6 “വ്യവഹാരത്തിൽ ദരിദ്രനു നീതി നിഷേധിക്കരുത്.

Do not thrust aside justice for your poor in his lawsuit.

7 വ്യാജാരോപണത്തിൽ നിനക്കു പങ്കുണ്ടാകരുത്. നിരപരാധിയും നീതിമാനും ആയ ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെയും കൊല്ലരുത്. കുറ്റവാളിയെ ഞാൻ ശിക്ഷിക്കാതെ വിടുകയില്ല.

Do not join others in making false accusations, and do not kill the innocent or righteous, for I will not acquit the wicked.

8 “കൈക്കൂലി വാങ്ങരുത്; കൈക്കൂലി കാഴ്ചയുള്ളവരെ അന്ധരാക്കുകയും നിഷ്കളങ്കരുടെ വചനം കോട്ടിക്കളയുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

Never take a bribe, for a bribe blinds those who see, and perverts honest people's words.

9 “പ്രവാസികളെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കരുത്; ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽ പ്രവാസികളായിരുന്ന നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ഒരു വിദേശിയുടെ ജീവിതം എങ്ങനെയെന്ന് അറിയാമല്ലോ.

You must not oppress a foreigner, since you know the life of a foreigner, for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.

10 “ആറുവർഷം നിന്റെ വയലിൽ വിതച്ച് വിളവു ശേഖരിച്ചുകൊൾക.

For six years you will sow seed on your land and gather in its produce.

11 എന്നാൽ ഏഴാംവർഷം നിലം ഉഴാതെ തരിശായിടുക. നിന്റെ ജനത്തിലെ ദരിദ്രർ അതിൽനിന്ന് ആഹാരത്തിനുള്ളതു ശേഖരിക്കട്ടെ. അവർ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നതു കാട്ടുജന്തുക്കൾ തിന്നട്ടെ. മുന്തിരിത്തോപ്പിന്റെയും ഒലിവുതോട്ടത്തിന്റെയും കാര്യത്തിലും ഇങ്ങനെതന്നെ ചെയ്യണം.

But in the seventh year you will leave it unplowed and fallow, so that the poor among your people may eat. What they leave, the wild animals will eat. You will do the same with your vineyards and olive orchards.

12 “ആറുദിവസം നിന്റെ ജോലി ചെയ്യണം; എന്നാൽ നിന്റെ കാളയും കഴുതയും വിശ്രമിക്കേണ്ടതിനും, നിന്റെ ദാസിയുടെ പുത്രനും പ്രവാസിയും ഉന്മേഷം പ്രാപിക്കേണ്ടതിനും ഏഴാംദിവസം വേല ചെയ്യരുത്.

During six days you will do your work, but on the seventh day you must rest. Do this so that your ox and your donkey may have rest, and so that your female slave's son and any foreigner may rest and be refreshed.

13 “ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതെല്ലാം ജാഗ്രതയോടെ ചെയ്യണം. അന്യദേവന്മാരുടെ നാമം സ്മരിക്കരുത്. അവ നിന്റെ അധരങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു കേൾക്കാൻ ഇടയാകുകയുമരുത്.

Pay attention to everything that I have said to you. Do not mention the names of other gods, nor let their names be heard from your mouth.

14 “വർഷത്തിൽ മൂന്നുപ്രാവശ്യം നിങ്ങൾ എനിക്കായി ഉത്സവം ആചരിക്കണം.

You must travel to hold a festival for me three times every year.

15 “പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പത്തിന്റെ ഉത്സവം ആചരിക്കുക. ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ പുളിമാവു ചേർക്കാതെ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ അപ്പം ഏഴുദിവസം ഭക്ഷിക്കണം. ആബീബുമാസത്തിലെ, നിശ്ചയിക്കപ്പെട്ട സമയത്തുവേണം ഇതു ഭക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടത്; ആ മാസത്തിലാണല്ലോ നിങ്ങൾ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്ന് പുറപ്പെട്ടത്. “ആരും എന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ വെറുങ്കൈയോടെ വരരുത്.

You are to observe the Festival of Unleavened Bread. As I commanded you, you will eat unleavened bread for seven days. At that time, you will appear before me in the month of Aviv, which is fixed for this purpose. It was in this month that you came out from Egypt. But you must not appear before me empty-handed.

16 “നിങ്ങളുടെ വയലിൽനിന്നുള്ള ആദ്യഫലം ശേഖരിക്കുമ്പോൾ കൊയ്ത്തുത്സവം ആചരിക്കണം. “വർഷാവസാനം നിങ്ങൾ വയലിലെ വിളവു ശേഖരിച്ചു കഴിയുമ്പോൾ കായ്-കനിപ്പെരുന്നാൾ ആചരിക്കണം.

You must observe the Festival of Harvest, the firstfruits of your labors when you sowed seed in the fields. Also you must observe the Festival of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you gather in your produce from the fields.

17 “വർഷത്തിൽ മൂന്നുപ്രാവശ്യം സകലപുരുഷന്മാരും കർത്താവായ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ വരണം.

All your males must appear before the Lord Yahweh three times every year.

18 “പുളിപ്പുള്ള യാതൊന്നിനോടുംകൂടെ എനിക്കു യാഗരക്തം അർപ്പിക്കരുത്. “എനിക്ക് അർപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഉത്സവയാഗങ്ങളുടെ മേദസ്സ് പ്രഭാതംവരെ സൂക്ഷിക്കരുത്.

You must not offer the blood from sacrifices made to me with bread containing yeast. The fat from the sacrifices at my festivals must not remain all night until the morning.

19 “നിന്റെ നിലത്തിലെ ആദ്യഫലങ്ങളിൽ ഏറ്റം മെച്ചമായവ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരണം. “ആട്ടിൻകുട്ടിയെ അതിന്റെ തള്ളയുടെ പാലിൽ പാകംചെയ്യരുത്.

You must bring the choicest firstfruits from your land into my house, the house of Yahweh your God. You must not boil a young goat in its mother's milk.

20 “വഴിയിൽ നിന്നെ സംരക്ഷിച്ച്, ഞാൻ ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു നിന്നെ കൊണ്ടുവരാൻ ഇതാ ഞാൻ ഒരു ദൂതനെ നിനക്കുമുമ്പായി അയയ്ക്കുന്നു.

I am going to send an angel before you to guard you on the way, and to bring you to the place that I have prepared.

21 അവനെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുകയും അവന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കുകയും വേണം. അവനെ എതിർക്കരുത്; എന്റെ നാമം അവനിൽ ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ട് അവൻ നിന്റെ എതിർപ്പു ക്ഷമിക്കുകയില്ല.

Be attentive to him and obey him. Do not provoke him, for he will not pardon your transgressions. My name is on him.

22 അവൻ പറയുന്നതു ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകേട്ട് ഞാൻ കൽപ്പിക്കുന്നതെല്ലാം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചാൽ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കൾക്ക് ശത്രുവും നിന്റെ പ്രതിയോഗികൾക്ക് പ്രതിയോഗിയും ആയിരിക്കും.

If you indeed obey his voice and do everything that I tell you, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.

23 എന്റെ ദൂതൻ നിനക്കുമുമ്പായി പോകുകയും അമോര്യർ, ഹിത്യർ, പെരിസ്യർ, കനാന്യർ, ഹിവ്യർ, യെബൂസ്യർ എന്നിവരുടെ ദേശത്തേക്കു നിന്നെ കൊണ്ടുവരികയും അവരെ തുടച്ചുനീക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.

My angel will go before you and bring you to the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites, and the Jebusites. I will destroy them.

24 അവരുടെ ദേവതകൾക്കുമുന്നിൽ വണങ്ങുകയോ ആരാധിക്കുകയോ അവരുടെ ആചാരങ്ങൾ അനുവർത്തിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യരുത്. നീ അവരെ നശിപ്പിച്ച് അവരുടെ ആചാരസ്തൂപങ്ങൾ തകർത്തുകളയണം.

You must not bow down to their gods, worship them, or do as they do. Instead, you must completely overthrow them and smash their stone pillars in pieces.

25 നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ആരാധിക്കണം; നിന്റെ ആഹാരത്തിന്മേലും വെള്ളത്തിന്മേലും അവിടത്തെ അനുഗ്രഹം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും. ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്ന് രോഗം നീക്കിക്കളയും.

You must worship Yahweh your God, and he will bless your bread and water. I will remove sickness from among you.

26 ഗർഭം അലസുന്നവളോ വന്ധ്യയോ നിന്റെ ദേശത്ത് ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുകയില്ല. ഞാൻ നിനക്കു പൂർണായുഷ്കാലം തരും.

No woman will be barren or will miscarry her young in your land. I will give you long lives.

27 “ഞാൻ നിനക്കുമുമ്പായി എന്റെ ഭീതി അയച്ച്, നീ നേരിടുന്ന ഓരോ ജനതയെയും പരിഭ്രാന്തരാക്കും. അങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ സകലശത്രുക്കളെയും പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞോടിപ്പിക്കും.

I will send fear of myself on those into whose land you advance. I will kill all the people whom you meet. I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you in fright.

28 ഹിവ്യരെയും കനാന്യരെയും ഹിത്യരെയും നിന്റെ വഴിയിൽനിന്ന് ആട്ടിയോടിക്കാൻ ഞാൻ നിനക്കുമുമ്പായി കടന്നലിനെ അയയ്ക്കും.

I will send hornets before you that will drive out the Hivites, Canaanites, and the Hittites from before you.

29 എന്നാൽ ദേശം വിജനമായിത്തീർന്ന്, കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളുടെ ആധിക്യം നിന്നെ ബാധിക്കുമെന്നുള്ളതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ ഒരു വർഷത്തിനകം അവരെ ആട്ടിയോടിക്കുകയില്ല.

I will not drive them out from before you in one year, or the land would become abandoned, and the wild animals would become too many for you.

30 നീ വേണ്ടുവോളം പെരുകി ദേശം അവകാശമാക്കുമ്പോഴേക്കും ഞാൻ അവരെ കുറേശ്ശെ കുറേശ്ശെയായി നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് ആട്ടിയോടിക്കും.

Instead, I will drive them out little by little from before you until you become fruitful and inherit the land.

31 “ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ദേശം ചെങ്കടൽമുതൽ മെഡിറ്ററേനിയൻ കടൽവരെയും മരുഭൂമിമുതൽ യൂഫ്രട്ടീസ് നദിവരെയും ആക്കി അതിർത്തികൾ സ്ഥിരമാക്കും. ഞാൻ ദേശവാസികളെ നിനക്കു കൈമാറുകയും നീ അവരെ നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് ഓടിച്ചുകളയുകയും ചെയ്യും.

I will fix your borders from the Sea of Reeds to the Sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the Euphrates River. I will give you victory over the land's inhabitants. You will drive them out before yourselves.

32 അവരുമായോ അവരുടെ ദേവതമാരുമായോ ഒരു ഉടമ്പടിയും ഉണ്ടാക്കരുത്.

You must not make a covenant with them or with their gods.

33 അവരുടെ ദേവതമാരെ ആരാധിക്കുന്നതു നിനക്കു നിശ്ചയമായും കെണി ആകുമെന്നുള്ളതുകൊണ്ട് അവരെ നിന്റെ ദേശത്തു വസിക്കാൻ അനുവദിക്കരുത്; അനുവദിച്ചാൽ അവർ നിങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ട് എനിക്കു വിരോധമായി പാപം ചെയ്യിക്കും.”

They must not live in your land, or they would make you sin against me. If you worship their gods, this will surely become a trap for you.'”
