പുറപ്പാട് 2
1 ഈ സമയം ലേവിഗോത്രത്തിൽപ്പെട്ട ഒരു പുരുഷൻ ഒരു ലേവ്യസ്ത്രീയെ വിവാഹംചെയ്തു;
Then there went a man of the house of Leui, and tooke to wife a daughter of Leui,
2 അവൾ ഗർഭംധരിച്ച് ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു. അഴകുള്ള ഒരു കുട്ടിയാണ് എന്നു കണ്ടിട്ട് അവൾ അവനെ മൂന്നുമാസം ഒളിപ്പിച്ചുവെച്ചു.
And the woman coceiued and bare a sonne: and when she saw that he was faire, she hid him three moneths.
3 എന്നാൽ അവനെ ഒളിപ്പിച്ചുവെക്കാൻ ഒട്ടും കഴിയാതായപ്പോൾ അവൾ ഒരു ഞാങ്ങണപ്പെട്ടകം വാങ്ങി അതിന്മേൽ പശയും കീലും തേച്ച്, കുട്ടിയെ അതിൽ കിടത്തി, നൈൽനദീതീരത്തു ഞാങ്ങണകൾക്കിടയിൽ വെച്ചു.
But when she could no longer hide him, she tooke for him an arke made of reede, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and laide the childe therein, and put it among the bulrushes by the riuers brinke.
4 അവന് എന്തു സംഭവിക്കുമെന്നു നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ട്, ശിശുവിന്റെ സഹോദരി കുറച്ചകലെ മാറിനിന്നു.
Now his sister stood a farre off, to wit what would come of him.
5 ഉടനെതന്നെ ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രി നദിയിൽ കുളിക്കാൻ വന്നു. അവളുടെ പരിചാരികമാർ നദിക്കരയിലൂടെ നടക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. അവൾ ആ പെട്ടകം ഞാങ്ങണകൾക്കിടയിൽ കണ്ടിട്ട് അതെടുക്കാൻ തന്റെ ദാസിയെ അയച്ചു.
Then ye daughter of Pharaoh came downe to wash her in the riuer, and her maidens walked by the riuers side: and when shee sawe the arke among the bulrushes, she sent her maide to fet it.
6 അവൾ അതു തുറന്നപ്പോൾ കുട്ടിയെ കണ്ടു. കുട്ടി കരയുകയായിരുന്നു. അവൾക്ക് അവനോടു സഹതാപം തോന്നി. “ഇത് എബ്രായശിശുക്കളിൽ ഒന്നാണ്,” അവൾ പറഞ്ഞു.
Then she opened it, and sawe it was a childe: and beholde, the babe wept: so she had compassion on it, and sayde, This is one of the Ebrewes children.
7 അപ്പോൾ ആ ശിശുവിന്റെ സഹോദരി ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രിയോട്, “നിങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി ഈ കുഞ്ഞിനെ പരിചരിക്കാൻ ഞാൻ ചെന്ന് ഒരു എബ്രായസ്ത്രീയെ കൊണ്ടുവരട്ടെയോ?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
Then said his sister vnto Pharaohs daughter, Shall I go and cal vnto thee a nurce of the Ebrew women to nurce thee the childe?
8 “ഉവ്വ്, പൊയ്ക്കൊൾക,” ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രി മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു. അതനുസരിച്ച് പെൺകുട്ടി ചെന്ന്, അവന്റെ അമ്മയെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
And Pharaohs daughter sayde to her, Goe. So the maide went and called the childes mother,
9 ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രി അവളോട്, “എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി ഈ കുഞ്ഞിനെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി മുലയൂട്ടിവളർത്തുക; നിന്റെ സേവനത്തിനു ഞാൻ പ്രതിഫലം തരാം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ ആ സ്ത്രീ പൈതലിനെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി വളർത്തി.
To whome Pharaohs daughter sayde, Take this childe away, and nurce it for me, and I wil reward thee. Then the woman tooke the childe and nurced him.
10 കുട്ടി വളർന്നപ്പോൾ, അവൾ അവനെ ഫറവോന്റെ മകളുടെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവൻ രാജകുമാരിയുടെ മകനായിത്തീർന്നു. “ഞാൻ ഇവനെ വെള്ളത്തിൽനിന്ന് എടുത്തു,” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് ആ രാജകുമാരി അവന് മോശ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.
Nowe the childe grewe, and she brought him vnto Pharaohs daughter, and he was as her sonne, and she called his name Moses, because, said she, I drewe him out of the water.
11 ചില വർഷങ്ങൾകഴിഞ്ഞ്—മോശ മുതിർന്നതിനുശേഷം—ഒരിക്കൽ തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്ന് അവരുടെ കഠിനാധ്വാനം നേരിട്ടുകണ്ടു; സ്വജനത്തിൽപ്പെട്ട ഒരു എബ്രായനെ ഒരു ഈജിപ്റ്റുകാരൻ അടിക്കുന്നത് അദ്ദേഹം കണ്ടു.
And in those dayes, when Moses was growen, he went forth vnto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: also he sawe an Egyptian smiting an Ebrewe one of his brethren.
12 ചുറ്റും നോക്കി ആരും ഇല്ലെന്നു കണ്ടപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹം ഈജിപ്റ്റുകാരനെ കൊന്നു മണലിൽ മറവുചെയ്തു.
And he looked rounde about, and when he sawe no man, hee slewe the Egyptian, and hid him in the sande.
13 അടുത്തദിവസം അദ്ദേഹം പുറത്തേക്കു പോയപ്പോൾ രണ്ട് എബ്രായർ ശണ്ഠയിടുന്നതു കണ്ടു. കുറ്റക്കാരനോട്, “നീ നിന്റെ സ്നേഹിതനെ അടിക്കുന്നതെന്ത്?” എന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം ചോദിച്ചു.
Againe he came forth the second day, and behold, two Ebrewes stroue: and he said vnto him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellowe?
14 “നിന്നെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ അധികാരിയും ന്യായാധിപനുമായി നിയമിച്ചതാര്? ഈജിപ്റ്റുകാരനെ കൊന്നതുപോലെ എന്നെയും കൊല്ലാമെന്നാണോ നിന്റെ വിചാരം?” അവൻ ചോദിച്ചു. അപ്പോൾ മോശ, “ഞാൻ ചെയ്തത് എല്ലാവരും അറിഞ്ഞുകാണും” എന്നു ചിന്തിച്ച് ഭയപ്പെട്ടു.
And hee answered, Who made thee a man of authoritie, and a iudge ouer vs? Thinkest thou to kill mee, as thou killedst the Egyptian? Then Moses feared and sayde, Certainly this thing is knowen.
15 ഫറവോൻ ഈ കാര്യം കേട്ടപ്പോൾ മോശയെ കൊല്ലുന്നതിന് അന്വേഷിച്ചു. എന്നാൽ മോശ ഫറവോന്റെ അടുക്കൽനിന്ന് മിദ്യാനിൽ താമസിക്കാനായി ഓടിപ്പോയി; അവിടെ അദ്ദേഹം ഒരു കിണറ്റിനരികെ ഇരുന്നു.
Now Pharaoh heard this matter, and sought to slay Moses: therefore Moses fled from Pharaoh, and dwelt in the lande of Midian, and hee sate downe by a well.
16 മിദ്യാനിലെ ഒരു പുരോഹിതന് ഏഴു പുത്രിമാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിന്റെ ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തിനു കുടിക്കാനുള്ള വെള്ളം കോരി തൊട്ടികളിൽ നിറയ്ക്കാൻ അവിടെ എത്തി.
And the Priest of Midian had seue daughters, which came and drewe water, and filled the troghes, for to water their fathers sheepe.
17 ചില ഇടയന്മാർ വന്ന് അവരെ ഓടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു. എന്നാൽ മോശ എഴുന്നേറ്റ് അവരെ സഹായിച്ചു. അവരുടെ ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തിനു വെള്ളം കൊടുത്തു.
Then the shepherds came and droue them away: but Moses rose vp and defended them, and watered their sheepe.
18 അവർ പിതാവായ രെയൂവേലിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിയെത്തിയപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹം അവരോട്, “നിങ്ങൾ ഇന്ന് ഇത്രയും നേരത്തേ മടങ്ങിയെത്തിയതെങ്ങനെ?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
And whe they came to Reuel their father, he said, Howe are ye come so soone to day?
19 അതിന് അവർ, “ഒരു ഈജിപ്റ്റുകാരൻ ഞങ്ങളെ ഇടയന്മാരുടെ കൈയിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹം ഞങ്ങൾക്കും ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തിനും വെള്ളം കോരിത്തരികയും ചെയ്തു” എന്നു മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു.
And they saide, A man of Egypt deliuered vs from the hand of the shepherdes, and also drew vs water ynough, and watered the sheepe.
20 അപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹം പുത്രിമാരോട്, “അദ്ദേഹം എവിടെ? നിങ്ങൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ വിട്ടിട്ടുപോന്നത് എന്ത്? നിങ്ങൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ഭക്ഷണത്തിനു ക്ഷണിക്കുക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Then he saide vnto his daughters, And where is he? why haue ye so left the man? call him that he may eate bread.
21 മോശ ആ മനുഷ്യനോടുകൂടെ താമസിക്കാമെന്നു സമ്മതിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ മകൾ സിപ്പോറയെ മോശയ്ക്കു വിവാഹംചെയ്തുകൊടുത്തു.
And Moses agreed to dwell with the man: who gaue vnto Moses Zipporah his daughter:
22 തുടർന്നു സിപ്പോറ ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു. “അന്യനാട്ടിൽ ഞാനൊരു പ്രവാസിയായിത്തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു,” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് മോശ അവന് ഗെർശോം എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.
And she bare a sonne, whose name he called Gershom: for he said, I haue bene a stranger in a strange lande.
23 വളരെ നാളുകൾക്കുശേഷം ഈജിപ്റ്റുരാജാവ് മരിച്ചു. ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ തങ്ങളുടെ അടിമവേലനിമിത്തം ഞരങ്ങി നിലവിളിച്ചു. അടിമവേലനിമിത്തം അവരിൽനിന്നുയർന്ന നിലവിളി ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ എത്തി.
Then in processe of time, the King of Egypt dyed, and the children of Israel sighed for the bondage and cryed: and their crie for the bondage came vp vnto God.
24 ദൈവം അവരുടെ ദീനരോദനം കേട്ടു; അബ്രാഹാമിനോടും യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടും യാക്കോബിനോടുമുള്ള തന്റെ ഉടമ്പടി അവിടന്ന് ഓർത്തു.
Then God heard their mone, and God remembred his couenant with Abraham, Izhak, and Iaakob.
25 ദൈവം ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കളെ കടാക്ഷിച്ചു; ദൈവം അവരെക്കുറിച്ചു ചിന്തിച്ചു.
So God looked vpon the children of Israel, and God had respect vnto them.
