പുറപ്പാട് 19
1 ഇസ്രായേല്യർ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്ന് പുറപ്പെട്ടതിന്റെ മൂന്നാംമാസത്തിൽ—അതേദിവസം—അവർ സീനായിമരുഭൂമിയിൽ എത്തി.
In the third month of the going out of the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt, in this day they have come into the wilderness of Sinai,
2 അവർ രെഫീദീമിൽനിന്ന് യാത്രതിരിച്ച് സീനായിമരുഭൂമിയിൽ പ്രവേശിച്ചു. അവിടെ പർവതത്തിനു മുന്നിലായി ഇസ്രായേൽ പാളയമടിച്ചു.
and they journey from Rephidim, and enter the wilderness of Sinai, and encamp in the wilderness; and Israel encamps there before the mountain.
3 ഇതിനുശേഷം മോശ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുത്തേക്കുചെന്നു; യഹോവ പർവതത്തിൽനിന്ന് അദ്ദേഹത്തോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു: “നീ യാക്കോബ് ഗൃഹത്തോടു പറയേണ്ടതും ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കളോട് അറിയിക്കേണ്ടതും എന്തെന്നാൽ:
And Moses has gone up to God, and YHWH calls to him out of the mountain, saying, “Thus you say to the house of Jacob, and declare to the sons of Israel:
4 ‘ഞാൻ ഈജിപ്റ്റിനോടു ചെയ്തതും നിങ്ങളെ കഴുകന്മാരുടെ ചിറകുകളിന്മേൽ വഹിച്ച് എന്റെ അടുക്കലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നതും നിങ്ങൾ നേരിട്ടു കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
You have seen that which I have done to the Egyptians, and [how] I carry you on eagles’ wings and bring you to Myself.
5 ഇനി, നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വാക്കുകേട്ട്, അനുസരിച്ച് എന്റെ ഉടമ്പടി പാലിച്ചാൽ എല്ലാ ജനതകളിലുംവെച്ച് എനിക്കുള്ള വിലപ്പെട്ട നിക്ഷേപം നിങ്ങളായിരിക്കും. കാരണം സർവഭൂമിയും എന്റേതാകുന്നു.
And now, if you really listen to My voice, then you have kept My covenant, and have been a special treasure to Me more than all the peoples, for all the earth [is] Mine;
6 നിങ്ങൾ എനിക്കു പുരോഹിതരാജ്യവും വിശുദ്ധജനതയും ആയിരിക്കും.’ ഇസ്രായേല്യരോടു നീ പറയേണ്ടുന്ന വചനങ്ങൾ ഇവയാകുന്നു.”
and you are to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation: these [are] the words which you speak to the sons of Israel.”
7 മോശ ചെന്ന് സമുദായനേതാക്കന്മാരെ വിളിച്ചു, യഹോവ കൽപ്പിച്ച സകലവചനങ്ങളും അവരെ അറിയിച്ചു.
And Moses comes, and calls for [the] elderly of the people, and sets before them all these words which YHWH has commanded him;
8 “യഹോവ കൽപ്പിച്ചതെല്ലാം ഞങ്ങൾ ചെയ്തുകൊള്ളാം,” എന്ന് ജനമെല്ലാം ഏകസ്വരത്തിൽ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. ജനത്തിന്റെ വാക്കു മോശ ദൈവസന്നിധിയിലെത്തിച്ചു.
and all the people answer together and say, “All that YHWH has spoken we do”; and Moses returns the words of the people to YHWH.
9 യഹോവ മോശയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു, “ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ജനംകേട്ട് നിന്നിൽ എപ്പോഴും വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിനു ഞാൻ ഇതാ മേഘതമസ്സിൽ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നു.” അപ്പോൾ മോശ ജനം പറഞ്ഞതു യഹോവയോട് അറിയിച്ചു.
And YHWH says to Moses, “Behold, I am coming to you in the thickness of the cloud, so that the people hear in My speaking with you, and also believe in you for all time”; and Moses declares the words of the people to YHWH.
10 യഹോവ മോശയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു, “ജനത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽച്ചെന്ന് അവരെ ഇന്നും നാളെയും വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുക. അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രങ്ങൾ അലക്കി,
And YHWH says to Moses, “Go to the people and you have sanctified them today and tomorrow, and they have washed their garments,
11 മൂന്നാംദിവസത്തേക്ക് ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കട്ടെ, അന്ന് യഹോവ സകലജനവും കാണുംവിധം സീനായിമലയിൽ ഇറങ്ങിവരും.
and have been prepared for the third day; for on the third day YHWH comes down on Mount Sinai before the eyes of all the people.
12 മലയുടെ ചുറ്റും ജനത്തിന് അതിരുതിരിച്ചിട്ട് അവരോടു പറയണം, ‘പർവതത്തിലേക്കു പോകുകയോ അതിന്റെ അടിവാരത്തിൽ തൊടുകയോ ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കാൻ സൂക്ഷിക്കുക. ആരെങ്കിലും പർവതത്തെ തൊട്ടാൽ അവൻ കൊല്ലപ്പെടും.
And you have made a border [for] the people all around, saying, Take heed to yourselves, going up into the mountain or coming against its extremity; whoever is coming against the mountain is certainly put to death;
13 ആരും ആ മനുഷ്യനെ സ്പർശിക്കരുത്. അയാളെ നിശ്ചയമായും കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞോ അമ്പെയ്തോ കൊല്ലണം: മനുഷ്യനായാലും മൃഗമായാലും ജീവനോടിരിക്കരുത്.’ കോലാട്ടിൻകൊമ്പിനാൽ തീർത്ത കാഹളം ദീർഘമായി ഊതുമ്പോൾമാത്രം അവർക്ക് പർവതത്തിനടുത്തേക്കു പോകാം.”
a hand does not come against him, for he is certainly stoned or shot through, whether beast or man—it does not live; in the prolonging of the ram’s horn they go up into the mountain.”
14 മോശ പർവതത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഇറങ്ങിയതിനുശേഷം ജനത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്ന് അവരെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു. അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രം അലക്കി.
And Moses comes down from the mountain to the people, and sanctifies the people, and they wash their garments;
15 പിന്നെ, അദ്ദേഹം അവരോട്, “മൂന്നാംദിവസത്തേക്ക് ഒരുങ്ങിക്കൊള്ളുക. ആരും ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിൽ ഏർപ്പെടരുത്.”
and he says to the people, “Be prepared for the third day, do not come near to a woman.”
16 മൂന്നാംദിവസം പ്രഭാതത്തിൽ പർവതത്തിനുമീതേ, കനത്ത മേഘത്തോടൊപ്പം ഇടിയും മിന്നലും തുടർന്ന് അത്യുച്ചത്തിലുള്ള കാഹളനാദവും ഉണ്ടായി. പാളയത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നവർ എല്ലാവരും പേടിച്ചുവിറച്ചു.
And it comes to pass, on the third day, while it is morning, that there are voices, and lightnings, and a heavy cloud on the mountain, and the sound of a very strong horn; and all the people who [are] in the camp tremble.
17 ഇതിനുശേഷം ദൈവത്തെ എതിരേൽക്കാൻ മോശ ജനത്തെ പാളയത്തിനു പുറത്തുകൊണ്ടുവന്നു. അവർ പർവതത്തിന്റെ അടിവാരത്തു നിന്നു.
And Moses brings out the people from the camp to meet God, and they station themselves at the lower part of the mountain,
18 യഹോവ സീനായിപർവതത്തിൽ, തീയിൽ, ഇറങ്ങിവന്നതുകൊണ്ട് മല പുകകൊണ്ടു മൂടി. ചൂളയിൽനിന്ന് പൊങ്ങുന്നതുപോലെ പുക ഉയർന്നുപൊങ്ങി. പർവതം വല്ലാതെ വിറച്ചു.
and Mount Sinai [is] wholly [in] smoke from the presence of YHWH, who has come down on it in fire, and its smoke goes up as smoke of the furnace, and the whole mountain trembles exceedingly;
19 കാഹളത്തിന്റെ മുഴക്കം ഒന്നിനൊന്നു വർധിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. അപ്പോൾ മോശ സംസാരിക്കുകയും ദൈവം ഉച്ചത്തിൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ഉത്തരം നൽകുകയും ചെയ്തു.
and the sound of the horn is going on, and [is] very strong; Moses speaks, and God answers him with a voice.
20 യഹോവ സീനായിമലയുടെ മുകളിൽ ഇറങ്ങിവന്ന് മോശയെ പർവതാഗ്രത്തിലേക്കു വിളിച്ചു; മോശ കയറിച്ചെന്നു.
And YHWH comes down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain, and YHWH calls for Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses goes up.
21 യഹോവ അദ്ദേഹത്തോട്, “നീ ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്ന്, ‘ജനം യഹോവയെ കാണാൻ തള്ളിക്കയറി, അനേകർ നശിക്കാൻ ഇടയാകരുത്,’ എന്ന് അവർക്കു മുന്നറിയിപ്പു കൊടുക്കണം.
And YHWH says to Moses, “Go down, protest to the people, lest they break through to YHWH to see, and many of them have fallen;
22 യഹോവയെ സമീപിക്കുന്ന പുരോഹിതന്മാരും തങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കണം. അല്ലാത്തപക്ഷം യഹോവ അവർക്കു ജീവഹാനി വരുത്തും” എന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
and also the priests who are coming near to YHWH sanctify themselves, lest YHWH break forth on them.”
23 മോശ യഹോവയോട്, “‘പർവതത്തിനുചുറ്റും അതിരുതിരിച്ച് അതിനെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു വേർതിരിക്കുക,’ എന്ന് അവിടന്നുതന്നെ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു മുന്നറിയിപ്പു തന്നതുകൊണ്ട് ജനത്തിനു സീനായിമലയിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കാൻ സാധ്യമല്ല” എന്ന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
And Moses says to YHWH, “The people [are] unable to come up to Mount Sinai, for You have protested to us, saying, Make a border [for] the mountain, then you have sanctified it.”
24 “ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്ന് അഹരോനെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവരിക. പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ജനങ്ങളും യഹോവയുടെ അടുത്തേക്ക് അതിരുലംഘിച്ചു കടന്നുവരരുത്, വന്നാൽ യഹോവ അവർക്കു ഹാനി വരുത്തും,” അവിടന്നു മറുപടി നൽകി.
And YHWH says to him, “Go, descend, then you have come up, you and Aaron with you; and the priests and the people do not break through to come up to YHWH, lest He break forth on them.”
25 മോശ ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്ന് ജനത്തോടു സംസാരിച്ചു.
And Moses goes down to the people and speaks to them.
