1 നിങ്ങൾ അവകാശമാക്കാൻപോകുന്ന ദേശത്തേക്ക് നിങ്ങളെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ കൊണ്ടുവരും. നിങ്ങളെക്കാൾ വലുപ്പവും ശക്തിയുമുള്ള ജനതകളായ ഹിത്യർ, ഗിർഗ്ഗശ്യർ, അമോര്യർ, കനാന്യർ, പെരിസ്യർ, ഹിവ്യർ, യെബൂസ്യർ എന്നീ ഏഴുകൂട്ടരെ നിങ്ങളുടെമുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് ഓടിച്ചുകളയും.

When the Lord thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possesse it, and shall roote out many nations before thee: the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hiuites, and the Iebusites, seuen nations greater and mightier then thou,

2 അവരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ കൈകളിൽ ഏൽപ്പിക്കും. അപ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ അവരെ തോൽപ്പിച്ച് പൂർണമായി നശിപ്പിക്കണം. അവരോട് സമാധാനയുടമ്പടി ചെയ്യുകയോ കരുണകാണിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യരുത്.

And the Lord thy God shall giue them before thee, then thou shalt smite them: thou shalt vtterly destroy them: thou shalt make no couenant with them, nor haue compassion on them,

3 അവരുമായി മിശ്രവിവാഹബന്ധം അരുത്. നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രിമാരെ അവരുടെ പുത്രന്മാർക്കു കൊടുക്കുകയോ അവരുടെ പുത്രന്മാരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രിമാർക്ക് എടുക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യരുത്.

Neither shalt thou make marriages with them, neither giue thy daughter vnto his sonne, nor take his daughter vnto thy sonne.

4 കാരണം അന്യദേവന്മാരെ സേവിക്കേണ്ടതിനു നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളെ അവർ എന്നിൽനിന്ന് അകറ്റും. അങ്ങനെ യഹോവയുടെ കോപം നിങ്ങളുടെമേൽ വരികയും അവിടന്ന് നിങ്ങളെ വേഗത്തിൽ ഉന്മൂലനംചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്യും.

For they wil cause thy sonne to turne away from me, and to serue other gods: then will the wrath of the Lord waxe hote against you and destroy thee suddenly.

5 അതുകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങൾ അവരോടു ചെയ്യേണ്ടത് ഇപ്രകാരമാണ്: അവരുടെ ബലിപീഠങ്ങൾ തകർക്കണം, അവരുടെ ആചാരസ്തൂപങ്ങൾ ഉടച്ചുകളയണം, അവരുടെ അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠകൾ വെട്ടിക്കളയണം, അവരുടെ പ്രതിമകൾ തീയിൽ ചുട്ടുകളയണം.

But thus ye shall deale with them, Ye shall ouerthrowe their altars, and breake downe their pillars, and ye shall cut downe their groues, and burne their grauen images with fire.

6 കാരണം നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയ്ക്കു നിങ്ങൾ ഒരു വിശുദ്ധജനമാണ്. തനിക്കു ജനമായി, അവിടത്തെ അമൂല്യമായ അവകാശമായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിനു, ഭൂപരപ്പിലെ സകലജനതകളിലുംനിന്ന് നിങ്ങളെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

For thou art an holy people vnto the Lord thy God, the Lord thy God hath chosen thee, to be a precious people vnto himselfe, aboue all people that are vpon the earth.

7 നിങ്ങൾ സകലജനതകളിലുംവെച്ച് അസംഖ്യമായതുകൊണ്ടല്ല യഹോവ നിങ്ങളിൽ പ്രസാദിച്ച് നിങ്ങളെ തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തത്. നിങ്ങൾ സകലജനതകളിലുംവെച്ച് എണ്ണത്തിൽ കുറവുള്ളവരായിരുന്നല്ലോ.

The Lord did not set his loue vpon you, nor chose you, because ye were more in number then any people: for ye were the fewest of all people:

8 നിങ്ങളെ യഹോവ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടും നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു ചെയ്ത വാഗ്ദാനം പാലിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടുമാണ് യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെ ശക്തിയുള്ള കൈകൊണ്ടു വിടുവിച്ച് അടിമവീടായ ഈജിപ്റ്റിലെ രാജാവായ ഫറവോന്റെ അധീനതയിൽനിന്നു വീണ്ടെടുത്തത്.

But because the Lord loued you, and because hee would keepe the othe which hee had sworne vnto your fathers, the Lord hath brought you out by a mightie hand, and deliuered you out of the house of bondage from the hand of Pharaoh King of Egypt,

9 അതുകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ, ദൈവം ആകുന്നു എന്നും അവിടത്തെ സ്നേഹിക്കുകയും അവിടത്തെ കൽപ്പനകൾ പാലിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവർക്ക് ആയിരം തലമുറവരെ സ്നേഹത്തിന്റെ ഉടമ്പടി ഉറപ്പിക്കുന്ന വിശ്വസ്തനായ ദൈവമാണ് യഹോവ എന്നും നിങ്ങൾ അറിയണം.

That thou mayest knowe, that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithfull God which keepeth couenant and mercie vnto them that loue him and keepe his commandements, euen to a thousand generations,

10 എന്നാൽ, തന്നെ തിരസ്കരിക്കുന്നവരെ അവിടന്നുതന്നെ നശിപ്പിച്ച് പകരംവീട്ടും; തന്നെ വെറുക്കുന്നവനോട് അവിടന്ന് പ്രതികാരംചെയ്യാൻ താമസിക്കുകയുമില്ല.

And rewardeth them to their face that hate him, to bring them to destruction: he wil not deferre to reward him that hateth him, to his face.

11 അതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ ഇന്നു നിങ്ങളോടു കൽപ്പിക്കുന്ന കൽപ്പനകളും ഉത്തരവുകളും നിയമങ്ങളും നിങ്ങൾ അനുസരിച്ചു ജീവിക്കണം.

Keepe thou therefore the commandements, and the ordinances, and the lawes, which I commaund thee this day to doe them.

12 നിങ്ങൾ ഈ നിയമങ്ങൾ കേട്ട് അവ സസൂക്ഷ്മം പാലിച്ചാൽ, നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോട് നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ശപഥത്തോടുകൂടി വാഗ്ദാനംചെയ്ത സ്നേഹത്തിന്റെ ഉടമ്പടി ഉറപ്പിക്കും.

For if ye hearken vnto these lawes, and obserue and doe them, then the Lord thy God shall keepe with thee the couenant, and the mercie which he sware vnto thy fathers.

13 അവിടന്ന് നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുകയും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുകയും വർധിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. അവിടന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കു നൽകുമെന്നു നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു ശപഥംചെയ്ത ദേശത്തു നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉദരഫലത്തെയും കൃഷിഫലത്തെയും—ധാന്യം, വീഞ്ഞ്, ഒലിവെണ്ണ—നിന്റെ കാളക്കിടാങ്ങളെയും ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തെയും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കും.

And he wil loue thee, and blesse thee, and multiplie thee: he will also blesse the fruite of thy wombe, and the fruite of thy land, thy corne and thy wine, and thine oyle and the increase of thy kine, and the flockes of thy sheepe in the land, which he sware vnto thy fathers to giue thee.

14 നിങ്ങൾ എല്ലാ ജനതകളെക്കാളും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും. നിങ്ങളിൽ വന്ധ്യനോ വന്ധ്യയോ ഉണ്ടാകുകയില്ല, നിങ്ങളുടെ ആടുമാടുകളിലും കിടാങ്ങൾ ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കുകയില്ല.

Thou shalt be blessed aboue all people: there shall be neither male nor female barren among you, nor among your cattell.

15 യഹോവ സകലവ്യാധിയും നിങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് അകറ്റും. ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽ നിങ്ങൾ കണ്ട മഹാവ്യാധികളിലൊന്നും അവിടന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കു വരുത്താതെ, അവ നിങ്ങളെ പകയ്ക്കുന്നവർക്കു കൊടുക്കും.

Moreouer, the Lord will take away from thee all infirmities, and will put none of the euill diseases of Egypt (which thou knowest) vpon thee, but wil send them vpon all that hate thee.

16 നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ കൈയിൽ ഏൽപ്പിച്ചുതരുന്ന ജനതകളെയെല്ലാം നിങ്ങൾ ഉന്മൂലനംചെയ്യണം. അവരോടു നിങ്ങൾ കരുണ കാണിക്കരുത്. അവരുടെ ദേവന്മാരെ നിങ്ങൾ ആരാധിക്കരുത്, അതു നിങ്ങൾക്കു കെണിയായിത്തീരും.

Thou shalt therefore consume all people which the Lord thy God shall giue thee: thine eye shall not spare them, neither shalt thou serue their gods, for that shalbe thy destruction.

17 “ഈ ജനതകൾ എണ്ണത്തിൽ ഞങ്ങളെക്കാൾ വളരെ ശക്തരാണ്, അതുകൊണ്ട് അവരെ നശിപ്പിക്കാൻ എങ്ങനെ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു സാധിക്കും?” എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ മനസ്സിൽ പറഞ്ഞേക്കാം.

If thou say in thine heart, These nations are moe then I, how can I cast them out?

18 എന്നാൽ അവരെ ഭയപ്പെടരുത്. നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഫറവോനോടും സകല ഈജിപ്റ്റുകാരോടും ചെയ്തതും ഓർക്കുക.

Thou shalt not feare them, but remember what the Lord thy God did vnto Pharaoh, and vnto all Egypt:

19 സ്വന്തംകണ്ണുകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങൾ കണ്ട വലിയ പീഡകളും ചിഹ്നങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും, നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്നു വിടുവിച്ച ശക്തിയുള്ള കൈയും നീട്ടിയ ഭുജവും ഓർക്കുക. നിങ്ങൾ ഭയപ്പെടുന്ന ജനതകളോടെല്ലാം നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം ചെയ്യും.

The great tentations which thine eyes sawe, and the signes and wonders, and the mighty hand and stretched out arme, whereby the Lord thy God brought thee out: so shall the Lord thy God do vnto all ye people, whose face thou fearest.

20 അതുമാത്രമല്ല, ശേഷിക്കുന്നവരും നിങ്ങളുടെമുമ്പിൽ മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നവരും ഉന്മൂലമാകുംവരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവരുടെ നടുവിൽ കടന്നലിനെ അയയ്ക്കും.

Moreouer, the Lord thy God will send hornets among them vntil they that are left, and hide themselues from thee, be destroyed.

21 നിങ്ങൾക്കെതിരായി വരുന്ന ജനതകളെക്കണ്ട് നിങ്ങൾ ഭ്രമിക്കരുത്. കാരണം നിങ്ങളുടെ മധ്യത്തിൽ വസിക്കുന്ന ദൈവമായ യഹോവ വീരനും ഭയങ്കരനുമായ ദൈവമാണ്.

Thou shalt not feare them: for the Lord thy God is among you, a God mightie and dreadful.

22 ആ ജനതകളെ കുറേശ്ശെയായി നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെമുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് നീക്കംചെയ്യും. കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങൾ പെരുകി നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഭീഷണിയാകാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് അവരെ ക്ഷണത്തിൽ നശിപ്പിക്കാൻ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ അനുവദിക്കുകയില്ല.

And the Lord thy God wil roote out these nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, least the beasts of the fielde increase vpon thee.

23 നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ കൈകളിൽ ഏൽപ്പിക്കും. അവർ ഉന്മൂലമാകുംവരെ അവർക്കു കൊടുംഭീതി വരുത്തും.

But the Lord thy God shall giue them before thee, and shall destroy them with a mightie destruction, vntill they be brought to naught.

24 അവരുടെ രാജാക്കന്മാരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ കൈകളിൽ ഏൽപ്പിക്കും. നിങ്ങൾ അവരുടെ നാമം ആകാശത്തിൻകീഴിൽനിന്ന് തുടച്ചുനീക്കും. ഒരുത്തനും നിങ്ങൾക്കെതിരേ നിൽക്കുകയില്ല; നിങ്ങൾ അവരെ നശിപ്പിക്കും.

And he shall deliuer their Kings into thine hand, and thou shalt destroy their name from vnder heauen: there shall no man be able to stand before thee, vntill thou hast destroyed them.

25 അവരുടെ ദേവന്മാരുടെ പ്രതിമകൾ തീയിലിട്ട് ചുടണം. നിങ്ങൾ പ്രലോഭനത്തിനു വഴങ്ങി അതിലുള്ള വെള്ളിയും സ്വർണവും സ്വന്തമാക്കരുത്. അത് നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയ്ക്ക് അറപ്പാകുന്നു.

The grauen images of their gods shall ye burne with fire, and couet not the siluer and golde, that is on them, nor take it vnto thee, least thou be snared therewith: for it is an abomination before the Lord thy God.

26 അറപ്പുളവാക്കുന്ന യാതൊന്നും നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ വീട്ടിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോകരുത്; അങ്ങനെയായാൽ നിങ്ങളും നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടും. അവ നശിപ്പിക്കാനായി വേർതിരിക്കപ്പെട്ടവയാകുകയാൽ അതു നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അത്യന്തം അറപ്പും വെറുപ്പും ആയിരിക്കണം.

Bring not therefore abomination into thine house, lest, thou be accursed like it, but vtterly abhorre it, and count it most abominable: for it is accursed.
