ആവർത്തനപുസ്തകം 10

1 ആ സമയത്ത് യഹോവ എന്നോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു: “ആദ്യത്തേതുപോലെ രണ്ടു കൽപ്പലകകൾ ചെത്തിയെടുത്ത് പർവതത്തിൽ എന്റെ സന്നിധിയിലേക്കു കയറിവരിക. മരംകൊണ്ടുള്ള ഒരു പേടകവും ഉണ്ടാക്കുക.

At that time Jehovah said to me, "Cut two tablets of stone like the first, and come up to me onto the mountain, and make an ark of wood.

2 നീ പൊട്ടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞ ആദ്യത്തെ കൽപ്പലകകളിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന വചനങ്ങൾ ഞാൻ ഈ കൽപ്പലകകളിൽ എഴുതും. അവ നീ ആ പേടകത്തിൽ വെക്കണം.”

I will write on the tables the words that were on the first tables which you broke, and you shall put them in the ark."

3 അങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ ഖദിരമരംകൊണ്ട് ഒരു പേടകമുണ്ടാക്കി. ആദ്യത്തേതുപോലെയുള്ള രണ്ടു കൽപ്പലകകൾ ചെത്തിയുണ്ടാക്കി; കൈയിൽ ആ രണ്ടു കൽപ്പലകകളുമായി ഞാൻ പർവതത്തിൽ കയറി.

So I made an ark of acacia wood, and cut two tablets of stone like the first, and went up onto the mountain, having the two tablets in my hand.

4 മഹാസമ്മേളനം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ദിവസം യഹോവ പർവതത്തിൽവെച്ച് അഗ്നിയുടെ മധ്യത്തിൽ നിങ്ങളോടു വിളംബരംചെയ്ത പത്തു കൽപ്പനകളും, ആദ്യത്തെ ഫലകങ്ങളിലെ എഴുത്തുപോലെതന്നെ, യഹോവ ആ ഫലകങ്ങളിൽ എഴുതി. യഹോവ അവ എനിക്കു നൽകി.

He wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which Jehovah spoke to you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and Jehovah gave them to me.

5 അതിനുശേഷം ഞാൻ പർവതത്തിൽനിന്നും ഇറങ്ങിവന്ന് ഞാൻ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ പേടകത്തിൽ ഫലകങ്ങൾ വെച്ചു. യഹോവ എന്നോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവ അവിടെത്തന്നെ ഉണ്ട്.

I turned and came down from the mountain, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they are as Jehovah commanded me.

6 ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ യാഖാന്യരുടെ കിണറുകൾക്കരികെനിന്ന് മൊസേരോത്തിലേക്കു യാത്രതിരിച്ചു. അഹരോൻ അവിടെ മരിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അവിടെ സംസ്കരിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പുത്രനായ എലെയാസാർ അവനുശേഷം പുരോഹിതനായി.

(The children of Israel traveled from Beeroth Bene Jaakan to Moserah. There Aaron died, and there he was buried; and Eleazar his son ministered in the priest's office in his place.

7 അവർ അവിടെനിന്ന് ഗുദ്ഗോദെയിലേക്കും ഗുദ്ഗോദെയിൽനിന്ന് നീരുറവുകളുള്ള നാടായ യൊത്-ബാഥായ്ക്കും യാത്രയായി.

From there they traveled to Gudgodah; and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of brooks of water.

8 അക്കാലത്ത് യഹോവ തന്റെ ഉടമ്പടിയുടെ പേടകം ചുമക്കുന്നതിനും ഇന്നുവരെ തുടർന്നുവരുന്നതുപോലെ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നിന്നുകൊണ്ട് ശുശ്രൂഷിക്കുന്നതിനും അവിടത്തെ നാമത്തിൽ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതിനും ലേവിഗോത്രത്തെ വേർതിരിച്ചു.

At that time Jehovah set apart the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, to stand before Jehovah to minister to him, and to bless in his name, to this day.

9 അതുനിമിത്തം ലേവിക്ക് തന്റെ സഹോദന്മാരോടൊപ്പം ഓഹരിയും അവകാശവും ലഭിച്ചില്ല. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവരോടു വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്തപ്രകാരം യഹോവതന്നെയാണ് അവരുടെ ഓഹരി.

Therefore Levi has no portion nor inheritance with his brothers; Jehovah is his inheritance, according as Jehovah your God spoke to him.)

10 ഞാൻ ആദ്യത്തേതുപോലെ നാൽപ്പതുരാവും നാൽപ്പതുപകലും പർവതത്തിൽ താമസിച്ചു. ഈ പ്രാവശ്യവും യഹോവ എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടു. നിന്നെ നശിപ്പിക്കാതിരിക്കാൻ യഹോവ തീരുമാനിച്ചു.

I stayed on the mountain, as at the first time, forty days and forty nights: and Jehovah listened to me that time also, and Jehovah would not destroy you.

11 യഹോവ എന്നോട്, “എഴുന്നേൽക്കുക, ഞാൻ അവർക്കു നൽകുമെന്ന് അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു വാഗ്ദാനംചെയ്ത ദേശം അവർ ചെന്ന് അവകാശമാക്കാൻ നീ ജനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിലായി നടക്കുക” എന്നു കൽപ്പിച്ചു.

Jehovah said to me, "Arise, take your journey before the people; and they shall go in and possess the land, which I swore to their fathers to give to them."

12 അതുകൊണ്ട് ഇസ്രായേലേ, നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെടുകയും അവിടത്തോടുള്ള അനുസരണത്തിൽ ജീവിക്കുകയും അവിടത്തെ സ്നേഹിക്കുകയും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ പൂർണഹൃദയത്തോടും പൂർണാത്മാവോടും സേവിക്കുകയും

Now, Israel, what does Jehovah your God require of you, but to fear Jehovah your God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

13 ഞാൻ ഇന്നു നിങ്ങളോടു കൽപ്പിക്കുന്ന യഹോവയുടെ കൽപ്പനകളും ഉത്തരവുകളും, നിനക്കു നന്മയുണ്ടാകാൻ അനുസരിക്കുകയും അല്ലാതെ മറ്റെന്താണ് യഹോവ നിന്നോട് ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നത്?

to keep the commandments of Jehovah, and his statutes, which I command you this day for your good?

14 ഇതാ, സ്വർഗവും സ്വർഗാധിസ്വർഗങ്ങളും ഭൂമിയും അതിലുള്ള സകലതും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയ്ക്കുള്ളതാകുന്നു.

Look, to Jehovah your God belongs heaven and the heaven of heavens, the earth, with all that is in it.

15 നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടുമാത്രം യഹോവയ്ക്കു പ്രസാദം തോന്നുകയും അവരെ സ്നേഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. അവർക്കുശേഷം അവരുടെ പിൻഗാമികളായ നിങ്ങളെ ഇന്നുള്ളതുപോലെതന്നെ എല്ലാ ജനതകളിൽനിന്നും തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു.

Only Jehovah had a delight in your fathers to love them, and he chose their descendants after them, even you above all peoples, as at this day.

16 അതുകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങൾ ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ അഗ്രചർമം പരിച്ഛേദനം ചെയ്യുക. ഇനി ഒരിക്കലും ദുശ്ശാഠ്യമുള്ളവരായിരിക്കരുത്.

Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiff-necked.

17 നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ദേവാധിദൈവവും കർത്താധികർത്താവും സർവശക്തനും മഹാനും ഉന്നതനുമായ ദൈവം ആകുന്നു. അവിടന്ന് മുഖപക്ഷം കാണിക്കുകയോ കൈക്കൂലി വാങ്ങുകയോ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ല.

For Jehovah your God, he is God of gods, and Lord of lords, the great God, the mighty, and the awesome, who doesn't respect persons, nor takes reward.

18 അവിടന്ന് അനാഥർക്കും വിധവമാർക്കുംവേണ്ടി നീതി നടപ്പാക്കുന്നു. അവിടന്ന് നിങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ താമസിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാസികളെ സ്നേഹിച്ച് അവർക്കു ഭക്ഷണവും വസ്ത്രവും നൽകുന്നു.

He does execute justice for the fatherless and widow, and loves the foreigner, in giving him food and clothing.

19 അതുകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങളും പ്രവാസികളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുക. നിങ്ങളും ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽ പ്രവാസികളായിരുന്നല്ലോ.

Therefore love the foreigner; for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.

20 നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ നീ ഭയപ്പെട്ട്, അവിടത്തെ സേവിക്കണം. യഹോവയോട് പറ്റിച്ചേർന്ന്, അവിടത്തെ നാമത്തിൽ ശപഥംചെയ്യണം.

You shall fear Jehovah your God; you shall serve him; and you shall cling to him, and you shall swear by his name.

21 അവിടന്നാകുന്നു നിന്റെ പുകഴ്ച; അവിടന്നാകുന്നു നിന്റെ ദൈവം. നീ കണ്ണുകൊണ്ടു കണ്ടിട്ടുള്ള മഹത്തും ഭയങ്കരവുമായ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ ചെയ്തത് അവിടന്ന് ആകുന്നു.

He is your praise, and he is your God, who has done for you these great and awesome things, which your eyes have seen.

22 നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ എഴുപത് പേരാണ് ഈജിപ്റ്റിലേക്കു പോയത്. ഇപ്പോൾ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ ആകാശത്തുള്ള നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ എണ്ണത്തിൽ വർധിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

Your fathers went down into Egypt with seventy persons; and now Jehovah your God has made you as the stars of the sky for multitude.
