ദാനീയേൽ 6
1 മുഴുവൻ രാജ്യത്തിന്റെയും ഭരണം നിർവഹിക്കാൻ നൂറ്റിയിരുപത് രാജപ്രതിനിധികളെയും
to acceptable before Darius and to stand: establish since kingdom [the] to/for satrap [the] hundred and twenty that to be in/on/with all kingdom [the]
2 അവർക്കുമീതേ മൂന്ന് ഭരണാധിപന്മാരെയും നിയമിക്കുന്നത് ഉചിതമെന്ന് ദാര്യാവേശിനു തോന്നി. ഈ മൂന്നുപേരിൽ ഒരാൾ ദാനീയേലായിരുന്നു. രാജാവിനു നഷ്ടം വരാതിരിക്കുന്നതിനു രാജപ്രതിനിധികൾ ഈ മൂന്നു പേരോടു കണക്കു ബോധിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടിയിരുന്നു.

3 അസാമാന്യ കഴിവുകൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതിനാൽ ദാനീയേൽ ഈ ഭരണാധിപന്മാരെയും രാജപ്രതിനിധികളെയുംകാൾ ശ്രേഷ്ഠനായി പ്രശോഭിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി. സർവരാജ്യത്തിന്റെയും അധികാരിയായി അദ്ദേഹത്തെ നിയമിക്കാൻ രാജാവു നിർണയിച്ചു.

4 അപ്പോൾ രാജ്യകാര്യസംബന്ധമായി ദാനീയേലിൽ എന്തെങ്കിലും കുറ്റം കണ്ടുപിടിക്കാൻ ഭരണാധിപന്മാരും രാജപ്രതിനിധികളും തക്കംനോക്കി നിന്നിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ, ദാനീയേൽ വിശ്വസ്തനായിരുന്നതിനാൽ യാതൊരു കൃത്യവിലോപവും അനീതിയും അദ്ദേഹത്തിൽ കണ്ടെത്താൻ അവർക്കു കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല. ഒരുതെറ്റും കുറവും അദ്ദേഹത്തിൽ കണ്ടില്ല.

5 “അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം സംബന്ധിച്ചല്ലാതെ, ഈ ദാനീയേലിനു വിരോധമായി എന്തെങ്കിലും കുറ്റസംഗതികൾ കണ്ടെത്താൻ നമുക്കു സാധ്യമല്ല,” എന്ന് ആ പുരുഷന്മാർ പറഞ്ഞു.

6 അതുകൊണ്ട് ഈ ഭരണാധിപന്മാരും രാജപ്രതിനിധികളും തമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞൊത്തുകൊണ്ട് രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽവന്ന് അദ്ദേഹത്തോട് ഇപ്രകാരം ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു: “ദാര്യാവേശ് രാജാവു ദീർഘായുസ്സായിരിക്കട്ടെ!

7 മുപ്പതു ദിവസത്തേക്ക് അങ്ങയോടല്ലാതെ ഏതെങ്കിലും ദേവനോടോ മറ്റു മനുഷ്യനോടോ പ്രാർഥിക്കുന്ന ഒരുവനെ സിംഹക്കുഴിയിൽ ഇട്ടുകളയുമെന്നൊരു രാജകൽപ്പന പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കണമെന്നു രാജ്യത്തിലെ എല്ലാ ഭരണാധിപന്മാരും പ്രധാന ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരും രാജപ്രതിനിധികളും ഉപദേശകരും ദേശാധിപന്മാരും കൂടിയാലോചിച്ചു തീരുമാനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

8 അതുകൊണ്ടു രാജാവേ, മേദ്യരുടെയും പാർസികളുടെയും നീക്കംവരാത്ത നിയമപ്രകാരം ഈ നിരോധനം പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുകയും അതു മാറാതിരിക്കുമാറ് രാജകൽപ്പന മുദ്രവെക്കുകയും ചെയ്താലും.”

9 അങ്ങനെ ദാര്യാവേശ് രാജാവ് ഈ നിരോധന ഉത്തരവ് എഴുതി ഒപ്പുവെച്ചു.

10 ഇപ്രകാരം ഒരു കൽപ്പന ഒപ്പുവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതായി ദാനീയേൽ അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹം വീട്ടിൽച്ചെന്നു. തന്റെ മാളികമുറിയുടെ ജനാല ജെറുശലേമിനുനേരേ തുറന്നിരുന്നു. താൻ മുമ്പു ചെയ്തിരുന്നതുപോലെ ദിവസം മൂന്നുപ്രാവശ്യം മുട്ടുകുത്തി തന്റെ ദൈവത്തോടു പ്രാർഥിക്കുകയും സ്തോത്രംചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്തു.

11 അപ്പോൾ ആ പുരുഷന്മാർ കൂടിവന്ന്, ദാനീയേൽ തന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ പ്രാർഥനയും യാചനയും കഴിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടെത്തി.

12 അങ്ങനെ അവർ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽച്ചെന്ന് രാജകൽപ്പനയെപ്പറ്റി ഇപ്രകാരം സംസാരിച്ചു: “രാജാവേ, മുപ്പതു ദിവസത്തേക്ക് അങ്ങയോടല്ലാതെ ഏതെങ്കിലും ദേവനോടോ മനുഷ്യനോടോ പ്രാർഥിക്കുന്ന ഏതു മനുഷ്യനെയും സിംഹക്കുഴിയിൽ ഇട്ടുകളയും എന്നൊരു നിരോധന ഉത്തരവ് തിരുമേനി പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ?” അപ്പോൾ രാജാവ്: “മേദ്യരുടെയും പാർസികളുടെയും നീക്കംവരാത്ത നിയമപ്രകാരം ആ കാര്യം ശരിതന്നെ” എന്ന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

14 ഈ വാക്കു കേട്ടയുടൻ രാജാവ് അതിദുഃഖിതനായി ദാനീയേലിനെ മോചിപ്പിക്കാൻ മനസ്സുവെച്ചു; സൂര്യാസ്തമയംവരെയും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ വിടുവിക്കാൻ പ്രയത്നം ചെയ്തു.

15 അപ്പോൾ ഈ പുരുഷന്മാർ പരസ്പരധാരണയോടെ അടുത്തുവന്നു രാജാവിനോട്: “രാജാവു പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുന്ന യാതൊരു കൽപ്പനയും നിയമവും മാറിപ്പോകരുത് എന്നത് മേദ്യരുടെയും പാർസികളുടെയും ഒരു ചട്ടമാണെന്ന് തിരുമേനി ഗ്രഹിച്ചാലും” എന്നു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

16 അപ്പോൾ രാജാവു കൽപ്പന കൊടുത്തിട്ട്, ദാനീയേലിനെ കൊണ്ടുവന്ന് സിംഹക്കുഴിയിലിട്ടു. “നീ നിരന്തരം സേവിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ ദൈവം നിന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ!” എന്നു രാജാവു ദാനീയേലിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

18 അതിനുശേഷം രാജാവു കൊട്ടാരത്തിൽചെന്ന് ഉപവസിച്ചു രാത്രി കഴിച്ചുകൂട്ടി. സംഗീതോപകരണങ്ങൾ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നില്ല. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ഉറങ്ങാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞതുമില്ല.

19 രാജാവ് അതിരാവിലെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു വളരെ തിടുക്കത്തോടെ സിംഹഗുഹയുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു.

20 ഗുഹയുടെ സമീപത്തെത്തിയപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹം ദുഃഖശബ്ദത്തോടെ ദാനീയേലിനെ വിളിച്ച്: “ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാനീയേലേ, നീ നിരന്തരം സേവിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ ദൈവം സിംഹങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് നിന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കാൻ പ്രാപ്തനായോ?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

21 അപ്പോൾ ദാനീയേൽ രാജാവിനോട്: “രാജാവു ദീർഘായുസ്സായിരുന്നാലും!

22 എന്റെ ദൈവം തന്റെ ദൂതനെ അയച്ച് സിംഹങ്ങളുടെ വായ് അടച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു. അവ എനിക്ക് ഒരു ദോഷവും ചെയ്തില്ല. കാരണം, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ഞാൻ നിഷ്കളങ്കനാണ്. രാജാവേ, അങ്ങയുടെമുന്നിലും ഞാൻ ഒരു കുറ്റവും ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23 അപ്പോൾ രാജാവ് ഏറ്റവും സന്തോഷിച്ചു. ദാനീയേലിനെ ഗുഹയിൽനിന്ന് കയറ്റുന്നതിന് അദ്ദേഹം കൽപ്പനകൊടുത്തു. അങ്ങനെ ദാനീയേലിനെ ഗുഹയിൽനിന്ന് കയറ്റി. ദാനീയേൽ ദൈവത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചതുമൂലം അദ്ദേഹത്തിനു യാതൊരു കേടും പറ്റിയതായി കണ്ടില്ല.

24 അതിനുശേഷം രാജാവ് ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചിട്ട്, ദാനീയേലിന്മേൽ വിദ്വേഷപൂർവം ദോഷം ആരോപിച്ചവരെ വരുത്തി. അവരെയും അവരുടെ മക്കളെയും ഭാര്യമാരെയും സിംഹക്കുഴിയിൽ ഇട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു. അവർ ഗുഹയുടെ അടിയിൽ എത്തുന്നതിനുമുമ്പുതന്നെ സിംഹങ്ങൾ അവരെ പിടികൂടി അവരുടെ അസ്ഥികളെല്ലാം തകർത്തുകളഞ്ഞു.

25 പിന്നീട്, ദാര്യാവേശ് രാജാവ് സകലരാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾക്കും ജനതകൾക്കും ഭൂമിയിൽ എല്ലായിടവും വസിക്കുന്ന സകലഭാഷക്കാർക്കും ഇപ്രകാരം എഴുതി അയച്ചു: “നിങ്ങൾക്കു സമാധാനം വർധിക്കട്ടെ!

26 “എന്റെ രാജ്യത്തിലെ സകലപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും, ജനങ്ങൾ ദാനീയേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ഭയഭക്തിയോടെ ആയിരിക്കണമെന്നു ഞാൻ കൽപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
from before me to set: make command that in/on/with all dominion kingdom my to be (to tremble *Q(k)*) and to fear from before god his that Daniel that he/she/it god [the] living [the] and enduring to/for perpetuity and kingdom his that not to destroy and dominion his till end [the]
27 അവിടന്നു മോചിപ്പിക്കുകയും രക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു;
to rescue and to rescue and to make sign and wonder in/on/with heaven [the] and in/on/with earth: planet [the] that to rescue to/for Daniel from hand lion [the]
28 അങ്ങനെ ദാനീയേൽ ദാര്യാവേശിന്റെ ഭരണകാലത്തും പാർസിരാജാവായ കോരെശിന്റെ ഭരണകാലത്തും ശുഭമായിരുന്നു.
