ആമോസ് 7

1 യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് ഇതാണ് എന്നെ കാണിച്ചത്: രാജാവിന്റെ ഓഹരിയായ ആദ്യവിളവ് എടുത്തശേഷം, രണ്ടാമത്തെ വിളവ് വളർന്നുവരുന്ന സമയം, അവിടന്നു വെട്ടുക്കിളിക്കൂട്ടങ്ങളെ ഒരുക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

Thus the Lord GOD showed me: behold, he formed locusts in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and behold, it was the latter growth after the king’s harvest.

2 അവ ദേശം തിന്നുവെളുപ്പിച്ചപ്പോൾ, ഞാൻ നിലവിളിച്ചു: “യഹോവയായ കർത്താവേ, ക്ഷമിക്കണമേ! ഇതിനെ അതിജീവിക്കാൻ യാക്കോബിന് എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും? അവൻ ചെറിയവനല്ലയോ?”

When they finished eating the grass of the land, then I said, “Lord GOD, forgive, I beg you! How could Jacob stand? For he is small.”

3 യഹോവ അതുകൊണ്ടു വിധിമാറ്റി. “ഇതു സംഭവിക്കുകയില്ല,” യഹോവ കൽപ്പിച്ചു.

The LORD relented concerning this. “It shall not be,” says the LORD.

4 യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് എന്നെ കാണിച്ചത് ഇതാണ്: “യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് അഗ്നിയാലുള്ള ന്യായവിധി കൽപ്പിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു; അതു വലിയ ആഴിയെ ഉണക്കിക്കളയുകയും ദേശത്തെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളയുകയും ചെയ്തു.”

Thus the Lord GOD showed me: behold, the Lord GOD called for judgment by fire; and it dried up the great deep, and would have devoured the land.

5 അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ നിലവിളിച്ചു: “യഹോവയായ കർത്താവേ, ഇതു നിർത്തണമേ എന്നു ഞാൻ യാചിക്കുന്നു! ഇതിനെ അതിജീവിക്കാൻ യാക്കോബിന് എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും? അവൻ ചെറിയവനല്ലയോ?”

Then I said, “Lord GOD, stop, I beg you! How could Jacob stand? For he is small.”

6 യഹോവ അതുകൊണ്ടു വിധിമാറ്റി. “ഇതു സംഭവിക്കുകയില്ല,” എന്ന് യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

The LORD relented concerning this. “This also shall not be,” says the Lord GOD.

7 അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ കാണിച്ചത് ഇതാണ്: തൂക്കുകട്ട ഉപയോഗിച്ചു കെട്ടിപ്പൊക്കിയ ഒരു ഭിത്തിക്കു സമീപം, ഒരു തൂക്കുകട്ട കൈയിൽ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് കർത്താവ് നിൽക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

Thus he showed me: behold, the Lord stood beside a wall made by a plumb line, with a plumb line in his hand.

8 യഹോവ എന്നോടു ചോദിച്ചു: “ആമോസേ, നീ എന്തു കാണുന്നു?” “ഒരു തൂക്കുകട്ട,” എന്നു ഞാൻ മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോൾ കർത്താവ് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു: “നോക്കുക, എന്റെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിന്മേൽ ഞാൻ ഒരു തൂക്കുകട്ട പിടിക്കുന്നു; ഇനി ഞാൻ അവരെ ശിക്ഷിക്കാതെ വിടുകയില്ല.

The LORD said to me, “Amos, what do you see?” I said, “A plumb line.” Then the Lord said, “Behold, I will set a plumb line in the middle of my people Israel. I will not again pass by them any more.

9 “യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടും, ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരങ്ങൾ ശൂന്യമായിത്തീരും; യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തിനു വിരോധമായി ഞാൻ എന്റെ വാളുമായി എഴുന്നേൽക്കും.”

The high places of Isaac will be desolate, the sanctuaries of Israel will be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.”

10 ബേഥേലിലെ പുരോഹിതനായ അമസ്യാവ്, ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ യൊരോബെയാമിന് ഒരു സന്ദേശം കൊടുത്തയച്ചു. “ഇസ്രായേൽജനത്തിന്റെ മധ്യേ ആമോസ്, രാജാവിനു വിരോധമായി ഗൂഢാലോചന നടത്തുന്നു. ദേശത്തിന് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ വഹിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്നതല്ല.

Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, “Amos has conspired against you in the middle of the house of Israel. The land is not able to bear all his words.

11 ആമോസ് പറയുന്നത് ഇതാണ്: “‘യൊരോബെയാം വാൾകൊണ്ടു കൊല്ലപ്പെടും, ഇസ്രായേൽ നിശ്ചയമായും സ്വന്തം ദേശംവിട്ട് പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോകും.’”

For Amos says, ‘Jeroboam will die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.’”

12 അപ്പോൾ അമസ്യാവ് ആമോസിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു: “ദർശകാ, പുറത്തുപോകൂ! യെഹൂദാദേശത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകുക. അവിടെ പ്രവചിച്ച് ഉപജീവനം കഴിക്കുക.

Amaziah also said to Amos, “You seer, go, flee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there,

13 ബേഥേലിൽ ഇനി പ്രവചിക്കരുത്, അതു രാജാവിന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരവും രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ രാജധാനിയുമാണ്.”

but don’t prophesy again any more at Bethel; for it is the king’s sanctuary, and it is a royal house!”

14 ആമോസ് അമസ്യാവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു: “ഞാൻ ഒരു പ്രവാചകനോ പ്രവാചകന്റെ പുത്രനോ അല്ല; ഞാൻ ഇടയനും കാട്ടത്തിപ്പഴം പെറുക്കുന്നവനും ആയിരുന്നു.

Then Amos answered Amaziah, “I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet’s son, but I was a herdsman, and a farmer of sycamore figs;

15 എന്നാൽ ആടുകളെ മേയിക്കുന്നവരിൽനിന്ന് യഹോവ എന്നെ തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു: ‘പോയി, എന്റെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിനോടു പ്രവചിക്കുക’ എന്നു കൽപ്പിച്ചു.

and the LORD took me from following the flock, and the LORD said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to my people Israel.’

16 ഇപ്പോൾ യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേൾക്കുക: “‘ഇസ്രായേലിനു വിരോധമായി പ്രവചിക്കരുത്, യിസ്ഹാക്കുഗൃഹത്തിനു വിരോധമായി പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്നതു നിർത്തുക,’ എന്നു താങ്കൾ പറയുന്നു.

Now therefore listen to the LORD’s word: ‘You say, Don’t prophesy against Israel, and don’t proclaim against the house of Isaac.’

17 “അതുകൊണ്ട് യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “‘നിന്റെ ഭാര്യ നഗരത്തിൽ വേശ്യയാകും, നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും വാളിനാൽ വീഴും. നിന്റെ ദേശം അളന്നു വിഭജിക്കപ്പെടും നീ യെഹൂദേതരരുടെ ദേശത്തുവെച്ചു മരിക്കും. ഇസ്രായേൽ നിശ്ചയമായി സ്വന്തം ദേശംവിട്ടു പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോകും.’”

Therefore the LORD says: ‘Your wife shall be a prostitute in the city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall be divided by line; and you yourself shall die in a land that is unclean, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.’”
