ആമോസ് 3
1 ഇസ്രായേൽജനമേ, നിനക്കെതിരേയും ഞാൻ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്ന് പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവന്ന സർവ കുടുംബത്തിനെതിരേയുമുള്ള യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക:
Hear this word which the Lord hath spoken concerning you, O children of Israel, concerning the whole family which I have brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,
2 “ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലകുടുംബങ്ങളിലുംവെച്ചു ഞാൻ നിന്നെമാത്രമേ തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിട്ടുള്ളൂ; അതുകൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ സകലപാപങ്ങൾക്കും ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ശിക്ഷിക്കും.”
Only you have I loved out of all the families of the earth: therefore will I visit upon you all your iniquities.
3 തമ്മിൽ യോജിച്ചിട്ടല്ലാതെ, രണ്ടുപേർ ഒരുമിച്ചു നടക്കുമോ?
Will two walk together, except they had agreed [to do so]?
4 ഇരയില്ലാതിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ സിംഹം കാട്ടിൽ അലറുമോ? ഒന്നും പിടിക്കാതിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അതു ഗുഹയിൽ മുരളുമോ?
Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion send forth his voice out of his den, unless he have caught something?
5 കുടുക്കില്ലാതിരുന്നാൽ പക്ഷി നിലത്തെ കെണിയിൽ വീഴുമോ? എന്തെങ്കിലും അകപ്പെടാതെ കെണി നിലത്തുനിന്നു പൊങ്ങുമോ?
Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, when there is no gin for him? is ever a snare taken up from the ground, when it hath caught nothing at all?
6 പട്ടണത്തിൽ കാഹളം ധ്വനിക്കുമ്പോൾ ജനം വിറയ്ക്കുകയില്ലയോ? യഹോവ വരുത്തീട്ടല്ലാതെ ഒരു പട്ടണത്തിൽ അനർഥം വരുമോ?
Shall a cornet be blown in a city, and the people not become afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord have not done it?
7 തന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ പ്രവാചകന്മാർക്കു താൻ ചെയ്യാനിരിക്കുന്നതു വെളിപ്പെടുത്താതെ കർത്താവായ യഹോവ ഒന്നും ചെയ്യുകയില്ല.
For the Lord Eternal will do nothing, unless he have revealed his secret unto his servants the prophets.
8 സിംഹം ഗർജിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, ആരെങ്കിലും ഭയപ്പെടാതിരിക്കുമോ? കർത്താവായ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു, ആര് പ്രവചിക്കാതിരിക്കും?
The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord Eternal hath spoken, who will not prophesy?
9 അശ്ദോദിലെയും ഈജിപ്റ്റിലെയും കോട്ടകളിൽ വിളംബരംചെയ്യുക: “ശമര്യാപർവതങ്ങളിൽ കൂടിവരിക; അവളുടെ വലിയ അസ്വസ്ഥതയും അവളുടെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പീഡയും നേരിൽ കാണുക.
Publish at the palaces in Ashdod, and at the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great confusions in her midst, and the oppressions [that are] within her.
10 “തങ്ങളുടെ കോട്ടകളിൽ കൊള്ളയും അന്യായമുതലും ശേഖരിച്ചുവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന അവർക്ക് ന്യായം പ്രവർത്തിക്കാൻ അറിഞ്ഞുകൂടാ,” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
For they know not how to act rightly, saith the Lord, who treasure up violence and robbery in their palaces.
11 അതുകൊണ്ടു, കർത്താവായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഒരു ശത്രു നിങ്ങളുടെ ദേശം കീഴടക്കും, അവൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ സുരക്ഷിതസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ തകർക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ കോട്ടകൾ കൊള്ളയടിക്കും.”
Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, The adversary [is there] and surroundeth the land: and he shall bring down from thee thy strength, and thy palaces shall be plundered.
12 യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഒരു ഇടയൻ, സിംഹത്തിന്റെ വായിൽനിന്ന് രണ്ടു കാലിന്റെ എല്ലുകളോ കാതിന്റെ ഒരു കഷണമോ വലിച്ചെടുക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, ശമര്യയിൽ കിടക്കയുടെ അറ്റത്തും ദമസ്കോസിൽ കട്ടിലുകളിലും ഇരിക്കുന്ന ഇസ്രായേൽജനം മോചിക്കപ്പെടും.”
Thus hath said the Lord, As the shepherd snatcheth out of the mouth of the lion [at most] two leg-bones, or a tip of the ear: so shall be delivered the children of Israel that sit in Samaria on the corner of a bed, and on Damascus couches.
13 “നിങ്ങൾ ഇതു കേട്ട് യാക്കോബ് ഗൃഹത്തിനെതിരേ സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുക,” എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവം, യഹോവയായ കർത്താവുതന്നെ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
Hear ye, and give warning in the house of Jacob, saith the Lord Eternal, the God of hosts.
14 “ഞാൻ ഇസ്രായേലിനെ അവളുടെ പാപങ്ങൾനിമിത്തം ശിക്ഷിക്കുമ്പോൾ, ഞാൻ ബേഥേലിലെ ബലിപീഠങ്ങളെ നശിപ്പിക്കും; ബലിപീഠത്തിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകൾ ഛേദിക്കപ്പെട്ടു നിലത്തു വീഴും.
For on the day when I visit the transgressions of Israel upon him, will I also inflict punishment on the altars of Beth-el: and then shall be hewn off the horns of the altar, and they shall fall to the ground.
15 ഞാൻ വേനൽക്കാല വസതികളെയും ശൈത്യകാല വസതികളെയും പൊളിച്ചുകളയും; ദന്താലംകൃത മന്ദിരങ്ങളെയും ഞാൻ നശിപ്പിക്കും ഞാൻ കൊട്ടാരങ്ങളെയും പൊളിച്ചുകളയും,” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
And I will smite the winter-house together with the summer-house: and the houses of ivory shall disappear, and the great houses shall be no more, saith the Lord.
