2 തിമൊഥെയൊസ് 2
1 എന്റെ മകനേ, നീ ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിലുള്ള കൃപയിൽ ശക്തിപ്പെടുക.
Thou therefore, my sonne, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Iesus.
2 അനേകം സാക്ഷികളുടെ സാന്നിധ്യത്തിൽ നീ എന്നിൽനിന്ന് കേട്ടതെല്ലാം, മറ്റുള്ളവരെ അഭ്യസിപ്പിക്കാൻ യോഗ്യത നേടിയ വിശ്വസ്തരായ ആളുകളെ ഭരമേൽപ്പിക്കുക.
And what things thou hast heard of me, by many witnesses, ye same deliuer to faithfull men, which shalbe able to teache other also.
3 ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിന്റെ ഒരു നല്ല സൈനികനെപ്പോലെ നീയും എന്നോടൊപ്പം കഷ്ടതയിൽ പങ്കുചേരുക.
Thou therefore suffer affliction as a good souldier of Iesus Christ.
4 സൈനികസേവനം അനുഷ്ഠിക്കുന്ന ഒരാളും സൈനികേതര കാര്യങ്ങളിൽ ഇടപെടുന്നില്ല; കാരണം, അയാളുടെ ലക്ഷ്യം സൈന്യത്തിൽ തന്നെ ചേർത്തയാളിനെ തൃപ്തിപ്പെടുത്തുക എന്നതാണ്.
No man that warreth, entangleth himselfe with the affaires of this life, because he woulde please him that hath chosen him to be a souldier.
5 കായികമത്സരത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കുന്ന ഒരാൾ നിയമപ്രകാരം മത്സരിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ അയാൾക്കു വിജയകിരീടം ലഭിക്കുകയില്ല.
And if any man also striue for a Masterie, he is not crowned, except he striue as he ought to doe.
6 കഠിനാധ്വാനം ചെയ്യുന്ന കർഷകനാണ് ആദ്യം വിളവിന്റെ പങ്ക് എടുക്കേണ്ടത്.
The husbandman must labour before he receiue the fruites.
7 ഞാൻ പറയുന്നത് ചിന്തിക്കുക; കർത്താവ് സകലകാര്യത്തിലും നിനക്കു വിവേകം നൽകും.
Consider what I say: and the Lord giue thee vnderstanding in all things:
8 ഞാൻ എന്റെ സുവിശേഷപ്രഘോഷണത്തിൽ വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, ദാവീദിന്റെ വംശജനും മരിച്ചവരിൽനിന്ന് ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റവനുമായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിനെ ഓർക്കുക.
Remember that Iesus Christ, made of the seede of Dauid, was raysed againe from the dead according to my Gospel,
9 ഈ സുവിശേഷത്തിനുവേണ്ടിയാണ് ഒരു കുറ്റവാളിയെപ്പോലെ ബന്ധനം സഹിച്ചും ഞാൻ കഷ്ടത അനുഭവിക്കുന്നത്. എന്നാൽ, ദൈവവചനത്തിനു ബന്ധനമില്ല.
Wherein I suffer trouble as an euill doer, euen vnto bondes: but the worde of God is not bounde.
10 അതുകൊണ്ടു ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിലുള്ള രക്ഷയും നിത്യമഹത്ത്വവും തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടവർക്കു ലഭിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഞാൻ എല്ലാം സഹിക്കുന്നു. (aiōnios g166)
Therefore I suffer all things, for the elects sake, that they might also obtaine the saluation which is in Christ Iesus, with eternall glorie. (aiōnios g166)
11 ഇത് വിശ്വാസയോഗ്യമായ തിരുവചനമല്ലോ: നാം ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടുകൂടെ മരിച്ചാൽ ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടുകൂടെ ജീവിക്കും;
It is a true saying, For if we be dead together with him, we also shall liue together with him.
12 കഷ്ടത സഹിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ അവിടത്തെ ഭരണത്തിൽ പങ്കാളികളാകും. അവിടത്തെ നിരാകരിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ അവിടന്നു നമ്മെയും നിരാകരിക്കും.
If we suffer, we shall also reigne together with him: if we denie him, he also will denie vs.
13 നാം വിശ്വാസവിഹീനരായിത്തീർന്നാലും അവിടന്ന് വിശ്വസ്തനായിത്തന്നെ തുടരും; തന്റെ സ്വഭാവം ത്യജിക്കുക അവിടത്തേക്കു സാധ്യമല്ലല്ലോ!
If we beleeue not, yet abideth he faithfull: he cannot denie himselfe.
14 നിഷ്‌പ്രയോജനവും ശ്രോതാക്കൾക്ക് നാശം വിതയ്ക്കുന്നതുമായ വാഗ്വാദങ്ങളിൽ ഏർപ്പെടരുതെന്ന് ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ നീ അവരെ അനുസ്മരിപ്പിച്ച് കർശനമായി ഉദ്ബോധിപ്പിക്കുക.
Of these things put them in remembrance, and protest before the Lord, that they striue not about wordes, which is to no profit, but to the peruerting of the hearers.
15 “ലജ്ജിക്കാൻ ഇടവരാത്തവനും സത്യവചനം നേരായി വിഭജിക്കുന്നവനും” എന്ന ദൈവിക അംഗീകാരം ലഭിച്ച ഒരു പ്രവർത്തകനായി തിരുസന്നിധിയിൽ നിന്നെത്തന്നെ സമർപ്പിക്കാൻ യത്നിക്കുക.
Studie to shewe thy selfe approued vnto God, a workeman that needeth not to be ashamed, diuiding the worde of trueth aright.
16 ഭക്തിവിരുദ്ധമായ വ്യർഥഭാഷണം വർജിക്കുക; അവ നമ്മെ അധികം ഭക്തിരാഹിത്യത്തിലേക്കു നയിക്കുകയേയുള്ളു.
Stay prophane, and vaine babblings: for they shall encrease vnto more vngodlinesse.
17 ഇത്തരം ഭാഷണം കാർന്നുതിന്നുന്ന വ്രണംപോലെ വ്യാപിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും. ഹുമനയൊസും ഫിലേത്തോസും ഇത്തരക്കാരാണ്.
And their worde shall fret as a canker: of which sort is Hymeneus and Philetus,
18 അവർ സത്യത്തിൽനിന്ന് വ്യതിചലിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; “പുനരുത്ഥാനം കഴിഞ്ഞു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് അവർ ചിലരുടെ വിശ്വാസം തകിടംമറിക്കുന്നു.
Which as concerning ye trueth haue erred from the marke, saying that the resurrection is past alreadie, and do destroy the faith of certaine.
19 എന്നാൽ, “കർത്താവ് തനിക്കുള്ളവരെ അറിയുന്നു” എന്നും “കർത്താവിനെ സ്വീകരിച്ചവരെല്ലാം അധർമത്തിൽനിന്ന് അകന്നുകൊള്ളണം” എന്നും മുദ്രണം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന സുസ്ഥിരമായ ദൈവിക അടിസ്ഥാനം അചഞ്ചലംതന്നെ.
But the foundation of God remaineth sure, and hath this seale, The Lord knoweth who are his: and, Let euery one that calleth on the Name of Christ, depart from iniquitie.
20 ഒരു വലിയ ഭവനത്തിൽ സ്വർണവും വെള്ളിയുംകൊണ്ടുള്ള പാത്രങ്ങൾമാത്രമല്ല മരവും കളിമണ്ണുംകൊണ്ടുള്ളവയും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും; ചില പാത്രങ്ങൾ സവിശേഷമായ ഉപയോഗത്തിനും വേറെ ചിലതു സാമാന്യമായ ഉപയോഗത്തിനും.
Notwithstanding in a great house are not onely vessels of gold and of siluer, but also of wood and of earth, and some for honour, and some vnto dishonour.
21 സാമാന്യമായ ഉപയോഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് സ്വയം ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്നയാൾ സവിശേഷമായ ഉപയോഗങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള പാത്രമായി സമർപ്പിതമായി, സകലസൽപ്രവൃത്തികൾക്കും സജ്ജമായി യജമാനന് പ്രയോജനമുള്ള ആളായിത്തീരും.
If any man therefore purge him selfe from these, he shalbe a vessell vnto honour, sanctified, and meete for the Lord, and prepared vnto euery good worke.
22 യുവസഹജമായ ആസക്തികൾ വിട്ട് പലായനംചെയ്യുക. നിർമലഹൃദയത്തോടെ കർത്താവിനെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാവരോടുംചേർന്ന് ധാർമികത, വിശ്വാസം, സ്നേഹം, സമാധാനം എന്നിവ അനുഗമിക്കുക.
Flee also from the lustes of youth, and follow after righteousnes, faith, loue, and peace, with them that call on the Lord with pure heart,
23 മൗഢ്യവും ബാലിശവുമായ വാദപ്രതിവാദങ്ങൾ സംഘട്ടനങ്ങൾക്ക് വഴിതെളിക്കും എന്നറിഞ്ഞ് അവ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുക.
And put away foolish and vnlearned questions, knowing that they ingender strife.
24 കർത്താവിന്റെ ദാസൻ സംഘട്ടനങ്ങളിൽ ഏർപ്പെടാതെ എല്ലാവരോടും സൗമ്യമായി പെരുമാറുന്നവനും അധ്യാപനത്തിൽ നൈപുണ്യമുള്ളവനും ക്ഷമാശീലനും ആയിരിക്കണം.
But the seruant of ye Lord must not striue, but must be gentle toward all men, apt to teache, suffering the euill,
25 ശത്രുക്കൾക്ക് സത്യം സുവ്യക്തമാകുംവിധം ദൈവം അവർക്ക് മാനസാന്തരം നൽകിയേക്കാം എന്ന പ്രതീക്ഷയോടെ, സൗമ്യമായി ബുദ്ധി ഉപദേശിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്.
Instructing them with meekenesse that are contrary minded, prouing if God at any time will giue them repentance, that they may acknowledge the trueth,
26 തൽഫലമായി, പിശാച് തന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം നിറവേറ്റാൻ അടിമകളാക്കി വെച്ചിട്ടുള്ളവർ, അവന്റെ കെണിയിൽനിന്ന് സ്വതന്ത്രരായി സുബോധത്തിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങിവരും.
And come to amendment out of that snare of the deuil, of whom they are taken prisoners, to doe his will.
