2 രാജാക്കന്മാർ 24
1 യെഹോയാക്കീമിന്റെ ഭരണകാലത്ത് ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ രാജ്യത്തെ ആക്രമിച്ചു; യെഹോയാക്കീം മൂന്നു വർഷത്തേക്ക് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് കീഴ്പ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. അതിനുശേഷം അദ്ദേഹം മനസ്സുമാറ്റി നെബൂഖദ്നേസരിന്റെ അധികാരത്തോടു മത്സരിച്ചു.

2 യഹോവ ബാബേല്യരും അരാമ്യരും മോവാബ്യരും അമ്മോന്യരുമായ കവർച്ചപ്പടക്കൂട്ടത്തെ അദ്ദേഹത്തിനെതിരേ അയച്ചു. യഹോവയുടെ ദാസന്മാരായ പ്രവാചകന്മാർ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചിരുന്ന വചനപ്രകാരം യെഹൂദ്യയെ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനായി അവിടന്ന് ഈ പടക്കൂട്ടങ്ങളെ അയച്ചു.

3 മനശ്ശെയുടെ പാപങ്ങളും അയാളുടെ സകലപ്രവൃത്തികളുംനിമിത്തം യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽനിന്ന് അവരെ നീക്കംചെയ്യേണ്ടതിനായി അവിടത്തെ കൽപ്പനപ്രകാരം യെഹൂദയ്ക്ക് ഇതെല്ലാം സംഭവിച്ചു.

4 മനശ്ശെയുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളിൽ അദ്ദേഹം കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത രക്തം ചിന്തിയതും ഉൾപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹം കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത രക്തംചൊരിഞ്ഞ് ജെറുശലേമിനെ നിറച്ചിരുന്നു: അതു ക്ഷമിക്കാൻ യഹോവയ്ക്കു മനസ്സായില്ല.

5 യെഹോയാക്കീമിന്റെ ഭരണത്തിലെ മറ്റു സംഭവങ്ങൾ, അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ ഇവയെക്കുറിച്ചെല്ലാം യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ ചരിത്രഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടില്ലേ?

6 യെഹോയാക്കീം നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ച് തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോട് ചേർന്നു; അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യെഹോയാഖീൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തിനുപകരം രാജാവായി.

7 ഈജിപ്റ്റിലെ തോടുമുതൽ യൂഫ്രട്ടീസ് നദിവരെയുള്ള ഭൂപ്രദേശങ്ങൾ ഈജിപ്റ്റുരാജാവിന്റെ കൈയിൽനിന്ന് ബാബേൽരാജാവു പിടിച്ചെടുത്തു. അതിനാൽ ഈജിപ്റ്റുരാജാവ് തന്റെ ദേശത്തുനിന്ന് പിന്നീടൊരിക്കലും സൈന്യവുമായി വന്നിട്ടില്ല.

8 രാജാവാകുമ്പോൾ യെഹോയാഖീന് പതിനെട്ടു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹം മൂന്നുമാസം ജെറുശലേമിൽ വാണു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ പേര് നെഹുഷ്ഠാ എന്നായിരുന്നു. അവൾ ജെറുശലേമ്യനായ എൽനാഥാന്റെ മകളായിരുന്നു.

9 തന്റെ പിതാവു ചെയ്തിരുന്നതുപോലെ അദ്ദേഹവും യഹോവയുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ അനിഷ്ടമായതു പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.

10 അക്കാലത്ത് ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസരുടെ സൈനികോദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്മാർ ജെറുശലേംപട്ടണത്തിനുനേരേ വന്ന് അതിനെ ഉപരോധിച്ചു.

11 അവർ അപ്രകാരം ജെറുശലേമിനെ ഉപരോധിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോൾത്തന്നെ, നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ സ്വയം നഗരത്തിനുനേരേ വന്നു.

12 യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോയാഖീനും രാജമാതാവും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരും എല്ലാം നെബൂഖദ്നേസരിനു കീഴടങ്ങി. ബാബേൽരാജാവിന്റെ ഭരണത്തിന്റെ എട്ടാമാണ്ടിൽ അദ്ദേഹം യെഹോയാഖീനെ തടവുകാരനാക്കി.

13 യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരുന്നതുപോലെ നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെയും രാജകൊട്ടാരത്തിലെയും നിക്ഷേപങ്ങളെല്ലാം അപഹരിച്ചു. ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ ശലോമോൻ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ ഉപയോഗത്തിനായി ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്ന സ്വർണംകൊണ്ടുള്ള ഉപകരണങ്ങളെല്ലാം അദ്ദേഹം എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടുപോയി.

14 ജെറുശലേമിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന സകല ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരെയും എല്ലാ യുദ്ധവീരന്മാരെയും എല്ലാ കരകൗശലവേലക്കാരെയും ശില്പികളെയും അദ്ദേഹം തടവുകാരായി പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോയി. അവർ ആകെ പതിനായിരം പേരുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഏറ്റവും ദരിദ്രർമാത്രം അവിടെ ശേഷിച്ചു.

15 നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ യെഹോയാഖീനെ ബാബേലിലേക്ക് അടിമയായി പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോയി. രാജാവിന്റെ അമ്മയെയും ഭാര്യമാരെയും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്മാരെയും നാട്ടിലെ പ്രമാണിമാരെയുംകൂടി അദ്ദേഹം കൊണ്ടുപോയി.
and to reveal: remove [obj] Jehoiachin Babylon [to] and [obj] mother [the] king and [obj] woman: wife [the] king and [obj] eunuch his and [obj] (leader *Q(K)*) [the] land: country/planet to go: take captivity from Jerusalem Babylon [to]
16 യുദ്ധത്തിനു കരുത്തരും യോഗ്യരുമായ ഏഴായിരം യോദ്ധാക്കൾ അടങ്ങുന്ന സൈന്യവ്യൂഹത്തെയും കരകൗശലവേലക്കാരും ശില്പികളുമായി ആയിരംപേരെയും നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ ബാബേലിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി.
and [obj] all human [the] strength seven thousand and [the] artificer and [the] locksmith thousand [the] all mighty man to make battle and to come (in): bring them king Babylon captivity Babylon [to]
17 അദ്ദേഹം യെഹോയാഖീന്റെ പിതൃസഹോദരനായ മത്ഥന്യാവിനെ അദ്ദേഹത്തിനുപകരം രാജാവാക്കി; മത്ഥന്യാവിന്റെ പേര് സിദെക്കീയാവ് എന്നു മാറ്റുകയും ചെയ്തു.
and to reign king Babylon [obj] Mattaniah beloved: male relative his underneath: instead him and to turn: changed [obj] name his Zedekiah
18 സിദെക്കീയാവ് രാജാവായപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ഇരുപത്തിയൊന്നു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹം പതിനൊന്നുവർഷം ജെറുശലേമിൽ വാണു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ പേര് ഹമൂതൽ എന്നായിരുന്നു. അവർ ലിബ്നാക്കാരനായ യിരെമ്യാവിന്റെ മകളായിരുന്നു.
son: aged twenty and one year Zedekiah in/on/with to reign he and one ten year to reign in/on/with Jerusalem and name mother his (Hamutal *Q(K)*) daughter Jeremiah from Libnah
19 യെഹോയാക്കീൻ ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അദ്ദേഹവും യഹോവയുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ തിന്മ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.

20 യഹോവയുടെ കോപംനിമിത്തം ജെറുശലേമിനും യെഹൂദയ്ക്കും ഇതെല്ലാം വന്നുഭവിച്ചു; അവസാനം യഹോവ അവരെ തന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽനിന്ന് തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞു. എന്നാൽ സിദെക്കീയാവ് ബാബേൽരാജാവിനോടു മത്സരിച്ചു.
