2 ദിനവൃത്താന്തം 7

1 ശലോമോൻ പ്രാർഥിച്ചുതീർന്നപ്പോൾ ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു തീയിറങ്ങി ഹോമയാഗവും മറ്റുയാഗങ്ങളും ദഹിപ്പിച്ചു; യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സും ആലയത്തെ നിറച്ചിരുന്നു.

And when Solomon had made an end of his prayer, Are came down from heaven, and consumed the holocausts and the victims: and the majesty of the Lord tilled the house.

2 യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സ് അതിനെ നിറച്ചിരുന്നതുമൂലം പുരോഹിതന്മാർക്കു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.

Neither could the priests enter into the temple of the Lord, because the majesty of the Lord had filled the temple of the Lord.

3 ഇസ്രായേൽജനമെല്ലാം, ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു തീയിറങ്ങുന്നതും യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സ് ആലയത്തിന്റെ മുകളിൽ നിൽക്കുന്നതും കണ്ടപ്പോൾ, ആ കൽത്തളത്തിന് അഭിമുഖമായി മുട്ടുകുത്തി സാഷ്ടാംഗം പ്രണമിച്ച് യഹോവയെ ആരാധിക്കുകയും അവിടത്തേക്ക് നന്ദി കരേറ്റുകയും ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ട് ആർത്തു: “അവിടന്ന് നല്ലവനല്ലോ; അവിടത്തെ അചഞ്ചലസ്നേഹം ശാശ്വതമായിരിക്കുന്നു.”

Moreover all the children of Israel saw the fire coming down, and the glory of the Lord upon the house: and falling down with their faces to the ground, upon the stone pavement, they adored and praised the Lord: because he is good, because his mercy endureth for ever.

4 അതിനുശേഷം, ശലോമോൻരാജാവും സർവജനങ്ങളും യഹോവയുടെമുമ്പാകെ യാഗങ്ങൾ അർപ്പിച്ചു.

And the king and all the people sacrificed victims before the Lord.

5 രാജാവ് 22,000 കാളകളെയും 1,20,000 ചെമ്മരിയാടുകളെയും കോലാടുകളെയും യാഗമർപ്പിച്ചു. ഇപ്രകാരം, രാജാവും സകലജനങ്ങളും ചേർന്ന് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ നിർവഹിച്ചു.

And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand oxen, and one hundred and twenty thousand rams: and the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.

6 പുരോഹിതന്മാർ യഥാസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിൽ നിലയുറപ്പിച്ചു. യഹോവയ്ക്കു സ്തുതിപാടാൻ ദാവീദ് രാജാവു നിർമിച്ചിരുന്ന സംഗീതോപകരണങ്ങളുമായി ലേവ്യരും അതുപോലെതന്നെ അണിനിരന്നു. “അവിടത്തെ അചഞ്ചലസ്നേഹം ശാശ്വതമായിരിക്കുന്നു,” എന്നു ചൊല്ലി ദാവീദ് യഹോവയ്ക്കു നന്ദി കരേറ്റുമ്പോൾ ഈ ഉപകരണങ്ങൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഇസ്രായേൽജനമെല്ലാം എഴുന്നേറ്റുനിൽക്കവേ പുരോഹിതന്മാർ ലേവ്യർക്ക് അഭിമുഖമായിനിന്ന് കാഹളമൂതി.

And the priests stood in their offices: and the Levites with the instruments of music of the Lord, which king David made to praise the Lord: because his mercy endureth for ever, singing the hymns of David by their ministry: and the priests sounded with trumpets before them, and all Israel stood.

7 അതിനുശേഷം ശലോമോൻ, യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിലെ അങ്കണത്തിന്റെ മധ്യഭാഗം വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ച് അവിടെ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള മേദസ്സും അർപ്പിച്ചു. കാരണം, അദ്ദേഹം നിർമിച്ച വെങ്കലയാഗപീഠത്തിൽ ഇത്രത്തോളം ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും ഭോജനയാഗങ്ങളും മേദസ്സിന്റെ ഭാഗങ്ങളും കൊള്ളുമായിരുന്നില്ല.

Solomon also sanctified the middle of the court before the temple of the Lord: for he offered there the holocausts, and the fat of the peace offerings: because the brazen altar, which he had made, could not hold the holocausts and the sacrifices and the fat:

8 അങ്ങനെ ശലോമോനും അദ്ദേഹത്തോടൊപ്പമുണ്ടായിരുന്ന സകല ഇസ്രായേലും—ലെബോ-ഹമാത്തിന്റെ പ്രവേശനകവാടംമുതൽ ഈജിപ്റ്റിലെ തോടുവരെയുള്ള ഒരു വലിയ ജനസമൂഹം—അന്ന് ഏഴുദിവസം ഉത്സവം ആചരിച്ചു.

And Solomon kept the solemnity at that time seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great congregation, from the entrance of Emath to the torrent of Egypt.

9 അവർ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠയ്ക്ക് ഏഴുദിവസവും ഉത്സവത്തിന് ഏഴുദിവസവും ആഘോഷങ്ങൾ നടത്തിക്കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്നതിനാൽ എട്ടാംദിവസം സഭായോഗം കൂടി.

And he made on the eighth day a solemn assembly, because he had kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and had celebrated the solemnity seven days.

10 ഏഴാംമാസം ഇരുപത്തിമൂന്നാംതീയതി അദ്ദേഹം ജനങ്ങളെ തങ്ങളുടെ ഭവനങ്ങളിലേക്കു മടക്കി അയച്ചു. യഹോവ ദാവീദിനും ശലോമോനും തന്റെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിനുംവേണ്ടി ചെയ്ത നന്മകളെയും ഓർത്ത് ആനന്ദിച്ചും ആഹ്ലാദിച്ചും അവർ മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

So on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent away the people to their dwellings, joyful and glad for the good that the Lord had done to David, and to Solomon, and to all Israel his people.

11 ഇങ്ങനെ ശലോമോൻ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയവും രാജകൊട്ടാരവും പണിതീർത്തു. യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിനും തന്റെ കൊട്ടാരത്തിനുംവേണ്ടി ചെയ്യണമെന്നു താൻ മനസ്സിൽ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചിരുന്നതെല്ലാം നിറവേറ്റുന്നതിൽ അദ്ദേഹം വിജയിച്ചു.

And Solomon finished the house of the Lord, and the king’s house, and all that he had designed in his heart to do, in the house of the Lord, and in his own house, and he prospered.

12 അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ രാത്രിയിൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തിനു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു: “ഞാൻ നിന്റെ പ്രാർഥന കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. ഈ സ്ഥലം എനിക്കായിട്ടും, എനിക്കു യാഗത്തിനുള്ള ഒരാലയമായിട്ടും ഞാൻ തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

And the Lord appeared to him by night, and said: I have heard thy prayer, and I have chosen this place to myself for a house of sacrifice.

13 “മഴ ലഭിക്കാതവണ്ണം ഞാൻ ആകാശത്തെ അടച്ചുകളയുകയോ ദേശത്തെ തിന്നുമുടിക്കാൻ വെട്ടുക്കിളിയോടു കൽപ്പിക്കുകയോ എന്റെ ജനതയുടെ മധ്യേ മഹാമാരി അയയ്ക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ,

If I shut up heaven, and there fall no rain, or if I give orders, and command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people:

14 ഞാൻ എന്റെ പേരുചൊല്ലി വിളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ ജനം സ്വയം താഴ്ത്തി പ്രാർഥിക്കുകയും എന്റെ മുഖം അന്വേഷിക്കുകയും തങ്ങളുടെ ദുഷ്ടവഴികളിൽനിന്നു പിന്തിരിയുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നപക്ഷം ഞാൻ സ്വർഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് കേട്ട് അവരുടെ പാപങ്ങൾ ക്ഷമിച്ച് ദേശത്തിനു സൗഖ്യംനൽകും.

And my people, upon whom my name is called, being converted, shall make supplication to me, and seek out my face, and do penance for their most wicked ways: then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins and will heal their land.

15 ഈ സ്ഥലത്ത് അർപ്പിക്കുന്ന പ്രാർഥനകൾക്ക് എന്റെ കണ്ണ് തുറന്നിരിക്കുകയും എന്റെ ചെവി ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.

My eyes also shall be open, and my ears attentive to the prayer of him that shall pray in this place.

16 എന്റെ നാമം എന്നേക്കും ഇവിടെ നിലനിൽക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഞാൻ ഈ ആലയത്തെ തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. എന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടിയും ഹൃദയവും എപ്പോഴും ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും.

For I have chosen, and have sanctified this place, that my name may be there for ever, and my eyes and my heart may remain there perpetually.

17 “എന്നാൽ, നിന്റെ കാര്യത്തിലാകട്ടെ, നിന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിനെപ്പോലെ നീ എന്റെമുമ്പാകെ ജീവിക്കുകയും എന്റെ കൽപ്പനകൾ അനുസരിച്ചു പ്രവർത്തിക്കുകയും എന്റെ ഉത്തരവുകളും നിയമങ്ങളും പാലിക്കുകയും ചെയ്താൽ,

And as for thee, if thou walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and keep my justices and my judgments:

18 ‘ഇസ്രായേലിനെ ഭരിക്കാൻ നിനക്കൊരു പിൻഗാമി ഒരുനാളും ഇല്ലാതെപോകുകയില്ല,’ എന്ന് നിന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിനോടു ചെയ്ത ഉടമ്പടിക്ക് അനുസൃതമായി ഞാൻ നിന്റെ രാജകീയ സിംഹാസനം സ്ഥിരപ്പെടുത്തും.

I will raise up the throne of thy kingdom, as I promised to David thy father, saying: There shall not fail thee a man of thy stock to be ruler in Israel.

19 “എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു നൽകിയിരിക്കുന്ന ഉത്തരവുകളും കൽപ്പനകളും ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു പിന്മാറി അന്യദേവന്മാരെ സേവിക്കുകയും ആരാധിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നപക്ഷം

But if you turn away, and forsake my justices, and my commandments which I have set before you, and shall go and serve strange gods, and adore them,

20 ഞാൻ ഇസ്രായേലിനെ അവർക്കു കൊടുത്ത എന്റെ രാജ്യത്തുനിന്ന് ഉന്മൂലനംചെയ്യുകയും ഞാൻ എന്റെ നാമത്തിനായി വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ച ഈ ദൈവാലയത്തെ എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളയുകയും ചെയ്യും. ഞാൻ ഇതു സകലജനതകൾക്കും ഒരു പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലും പരിഹാസവിഷയവും ആക്കിത്തീർക്കും.

I will pluck you up by the root out of my land which I have given you: and this house which I have sanctified to my name, I will cast away from before my face, and will make it a byword, and an example among all nations.

21 ഈ ആലയം അവശിഷ്ടങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു കൂമ്പാരമായിത്തീരും. ഇതുവഴി സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നവരെല്ലാം വിസ്മയംപൂണ്ട്, ‘യഹോവ ഈ രാജ്യത്തോടും ഈ ആലയത്തോടും ഇപ്രകാരം ചെയ്തതെന്തുകൊണ്ട്?’ എന്നു ചോദിക്കും.

And this house shall be for a proverb to all that pass by, and they shall be astonished and say: Why hath the Lord done thus to this land, and to this house?

22 ‘അവരുടെ പൂർവികരെ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്ന് മോചിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവന്ന ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഇസ്രായേൽ പരിത്യജിക്കുകയും അന്യദേവന്മാരെ ആശ്രയിച്ച് അവയെ ആരാധിക്കുകയും സേവിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതിനാൽ യഹോവ ഈ അനർഥമൊക്കെയും അവർക്കു വരുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു,’ എന്ന് അവർ അതിനു മറുപടി പറയും.”

And they shall answer: Because they forsook the Lord the God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on strange gods, and adored them, and worshipped them: therefore all these evils are come upon them.
