2 ദിനവൃത്താന്തം 28
1 രാജാവാകുമ്പോൾ ആഹാസിന് ഇരുപതു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹം ജെറുശലേമിൽ പതിനാറുവർഷം വാണു. അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ പൂർവപിതാവായ ദാവീദിനെപ്പോലെ ആയിരുന്നില്ല; യഹോവയുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ നീതിയായുള്ളത് പ്രവർത്തിച്ചില്ല.
A son of twenty years [is] Ahaz in his reigning, and sixteen years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and he hath not done that which is right in the eyes of Jehovah, as David his father,
2 ആഹാസ് ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വഴികളിൽ ജീവിക്കുകയും ബാലിനെ ആരാധിക്കാനായി വാർപ്പുപ്രതിമകൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
and walketh in the ways of the kings of Israel, and also, molten images hath made for Baalim,
3 അദ്ദേഹം ബെൻ-ഹിന്നോം താഴ്വരയിൽ ദഹനബലികൾ അർപ്പിക്കുകയും യഹോവ ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞ അന്യരാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളുടെ മ്ലേച്ഛാചാരങ്ങളെ പിൻതുടരുകയും ചെയ്തു. അദ്ദേഹം സ്വന്തം പുത്രന്മാരെ അഗ്നിയിൽ ഹോമിക്കുകപോലും ചെയ്തു.
and himself hath made perfume in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burneth his sons with fire according to the abominations of the nations that Jehovah dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel,
4 അദ്ദേഹം ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിലും മലകളുടെ മുകളിലും സകലഇലതൂർന്ന മരങ്ങളുടെ കീഴിലും ബലികൾ അർപ്പിക്കുകയും ധൂപാർച്ചന നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു.
and sacrificeth and maketh perfume in high places, and on the heights, and under every green tree.
5 അതിനാൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അരാംരാജാവിന്റെ കൈയിൽ ഏൽപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു. അരാമ്യർ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ തോൽപ്പിക്കുകയും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അനവധി ആളുകളെ തടവുകാരായി പിടിച്ച് ദമസ്കോസിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകുകയും ചെയ്തു. യഹോവ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാവിന്റെ കൈയിലും ഏൽപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു. ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാവ് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അതികഠിനമായി തോൽപ്പിച്ചു.
And Jehovah his God giveth him into the hand of the king of Aram, and they smite him, and take captive from him a great captivity, and bring [them] in to Damascus, and also into the hand of the king of Israel he hath been given, and he smiteth him — a great smiting.
6 യെഹൂദാ തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതിന്റെ ഫലമായി രെമല്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ പേക്കഹ് യെഹൂദ്യരിൽ ഒരുലക്ഷത്തി ഇരുപതിനായിരം പടയാളികളെ ഒറ്റദിവസംതന്നെ വധിച്ചു.
And Pekah son of Remaliah slayeth in Judah a hundred and twenty thousand in one day (the whole [are] sons of valour), because of their forsaking Jehovah, God of their fathers.
7 എഫ്രയീമ്യവീരനായ സിക്രി രാജകുമാരനായ മയസേയാവെയും കൊട്ടാരം ചുമതലക്കാരനായ സൈന്യാധിപൻ അസ്രീക്കാമിനെയും രാജാവിനു രണ്ടാമനായിരുന്ന എൽക്കാനായെയും വധിച്ചു.
And Zichri, a mighty one of Ephraim, slayeth Maaseiah son of the king, and Azrikam leader of the house, and Elkanah second to the king.
8 ഇസ്രായേല്യർ തങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരജനമായ യെഹൂദ്യരിൽനിന്നും സ്ത്രീകളും പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരുമായി രണ്ടുലക്ഷം ആളുകളെ അടിമകളായി പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോയി. ധാരാളം മുതൽ കൊള്ളയടിച്ച് ശമര്യയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകുകയും ചെയ്തു.
And the sons of Israel take captive of their brethren, two hundred thousand, wives, sons and daughters, and also much spoil they have seized from them, and they bring in the spoil to Samaria.
9 എന്നാൽ ഓദേദ് എന്നു പേരുള്ള യഹോവയുടെ ഒരു പ്രവാചകൻ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. സൈന്യം ശമര്യയിൽ തിരിച്ചെത്തിയപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹം അവരുടെമുമ്പാകെ ചെന്ന് ഈ വിധം പറഞ്ഞു: “നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ യെഹൂദയോടു കോപിച്ചിരുന്നതിനാൽ, അവൻ അവരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ കൈയിൽ ഏൽപ്പിച്ചുതന്നു. എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങളോ, ആകാശംവരെ എത്തുന്ന കോപത്തോടെ അവരെ കൂട്ടക്കൊല നടത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
And there hath been there a prophet of Jehovah (Oded [is] his name), and he goeth out before the host that hath come in to Samaria, and saith to them, 'Lo, in the fury of Jehovah God of your fathers against Judah, He hath given them into your hand, and ye slay among them in rage — unto the heavens it hath come;
10 ഇപ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ യെഹൂദ്യയിലെയും ജെറുശലേമിലെയും സ്ത്രീപുരുഷന്മാരെ അടിമകളാക്കാൻ ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നു. നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയ്ക്കെതിരേ പാപം ചെയ്യുകയാൽ നിങ്ങളും കുറ്റക്കാരല്ലേ?
and now, sons of Judah and Jerusalem ye are saying to subdue for men-servants and for maid-servants to you; but are there not with you causes of guilt before Jehovah your God?
11 ഇപ്പോൾ, ഞാൻ പറയുന്നതു ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക! നിങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരവർഗത്തിൽനിന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പിടിച്ച തടവുകാരെ തിരിച്ചയയ്ക്കുക! അല്ലെങ്കിൽ യഹോവയുടെ ഉഗ്രകോപം നിങ്ങളുടെമേൽ ഇരിക്കും.”
and now, hear me, and send back the captives whom ye have taken captive of your brethren, for the heat of the anger of Jehovah [is] upon you.'
12 അപ്പോൾ യെഹോഹാനാന്റെ മകൻ അസര്യാവ്, മെശില്ലേമോത്തിന്റെ മകൻ ബേരെഖ്യാവ്, ശല്ലൂമിന്റെ മകൻ ഹിസ്കിയാവ്, ഹദ്ളായിയുടെ മകൻ അമാസ എന്നീ എഫ്രയീമ്യനേതാക്കന്മാരിൽ ചിലർ യുദ്ധം കഴിഞ്ഞു മടങ്ങിവന്നവരെ എതിർത്തുകൊണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞു:
And certain of the heads of the sons of Ephraim (Azariah son of Johanan, Berechiah son of Meshillemoth, and Jehizkiah son of Shallum, and Amasa son of Hadlai), rise up against those coming in from the host,
13 “നിങ്ങൾ ആ തടവുകാരെ ഇവിടെ കൊണ്ടുവരരുത്. അങ്ങനെചെയ്താൽ നാം യഹോവയുടെമുമ്പാകെ കുറ്റക്കാരായിത്തീരും. നമ്മുടെ കുറ്റം ഇപ്പോൾത്തന്നെ വലുതാണ്. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഉഗ്രകോപവും നമ്മുടെമേലുണ്ട്. അതിനാൽ നമ്മുടെ പാപങ്ങളെയും അപരാധത്തെയും ഇനിയും പെരുക്കാൻ നിങ്ങൾ ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നോ?”
and say to them, 'Ye do not bring in the captives hither, for, to guilt against Jehovah on us, ye are saying to add unto our sin and unto our guilt? for abundant [is] the guilt we have, and the fierceness of anger on Israel.'
14 അപ്പോൾ പടയാളികൾ ഇസ്രായേൽ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെയും സർവസഭയുടെയും മുമ്പിൽവെച്ചുതന്നെ ബന്ധിതരെ കൊള്ളമുതൽസഹിതം വിട്ടയച്ചു.
And the armed men leave the captives and the prey before the heads and all the assembly;
15 നിയുക്തരായ ആളുകൾ എഴുന്നേറ്റ് തടവുകാരുടെ ചുമതല ഏറ്റെടുത്തു. അക്കൂട്ടത്തിൽ നഗ്നരായിരുന്നവർക്കു കൊള്ളയിൽനിന്നു വസ്ത്രം കൊടുത്തു. അവർ തടവുകാർക്ക് വസ്ത്രവും ചെരിപ്പും ഭക്ഷണപാനീയങ്ങളും നൽകി; അവരുടെ മുറിവുകൾക്ക് എണ്ണതേച്ചു. ക്ഷീണിതരെ അവർ കഴുതപ്പുറത്തു കയറ്റി. അങ്ങനെ അവർ തടവുകാരെ ഈന്തപ്പനകളുടെ നഗരമായ യെരീഹോവിൽ അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ അടുത്ത് എത്തിച്ചിട്ട് ശമര്യയിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.
and the men who have been expressed by name rise and take hold on the captives, and all their naked ones they have clothed from the spoil, yea, they clothe them, and shoe them, and cause them to eat and drink, and anoint them, and lead them on asses, even every feeble one, and bring them in to Jericho, the city of palms, near their brethren, and turn back to Samaria.
16 അക്കാലത്ത് ആഹാസുരാജാവ് അശ്ശൂർരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ അടുത്ത് സഹായാഭ്യർഥനയുമായി ആളയച്ചു;
At that time hath king Ahaz sent unto the king of Asshur to give help to him;
17 കാരണം ഏദോമ്യർ വീണ്ടുംവന്ന് യെഹൂദയെ ആക്രമിക്കുകയും അവരെ തടവുകാരായി പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോകുകയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നു.
and again the Edomites have come, and smite in Judah, and take captive a captivity.
18 ഇതേസമയം ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ കുന്നിൻപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും യെഹൂദ്യയുടെ തെക്കുഭാഗത്തുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും കടന്നാക്രമിച്ചു; അവർ ബേത്-ശേമെശും അയ്യാലോനും ഗെദേരോത്തും അതുപോലെ സോഖോവും തിമ്നയും ഗിംസോവും അതിനോടുചേർന്ന ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും പിടിച്ചടക്കി അവിടെ വാസമുറപ്പിച്ചു.
And the Philistines have rushed against the cities of the low country, and of the south of Judah, and capture Beth-Shemesh, and Aijalon, and Gederoth, and Shocho and its villages, and Timnah and its villages, and Gimzo and its villages, and dwell there,
19 ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ ആഹാസ് യെഹൂദ്യയിൽ ദുഷ്ടത വർധിപ്പിക്കുകയും യഹോവയോട് അത്യധികം അവിശ്വസ്തനായിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്തു. അതിനാൽ അദ്ദേഹംനിമിത്തം യഹോവ യെഹൂദയ്ക്ക് അധഃപതനം വരുത്തി.
for Jehovah hath humbled Judah because of Ahaz king of Israel, for he made free with Judah, even to commit a trespass against Jehovah.
20 അശ്ശൂർരാജാവായ തിഗ്ലത്ത്-പിലേസർ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അടുത്തുവന്നു. എന്നാൽ അദ്ദേഹം ആഹാസിനെ സഹായിക്കുന്നതിനുപകരം ഉപദ്രവിക്കുകയാണു ചെയ്തത്.
And Tilgath-Pilneser king of Asshur cometh in unto him, and doth distress him, and hath not strengthened him,
21 ആഹാസ് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലും രാജകൊട്ടാരത്തിലും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെ പക്കലും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ധനത്തിൽ ഒരംശം എടുത്ത് അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിനു കാഴ്ചവെച്ചു. എന്നിട്ടും അദ്ദേഹം ആഹാസിനെ സഹായിച്ചില്ല.
though Ahaz hath taken a portion [out] of the house of Jehovah, and [out] of the house of the king, and of the princes, and giveth to the king of Asshur, yet it is no help to him.
22 ആഹാസിന്റെ ഈ ദുരിതകാലത്തും അദ്ദേഹം യഹോവയോട് വിശ്വസ്തത പുലർത്തുന്നതിൽ കൂടുതൽ അപരാധം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു:
And in the time of his distress — he addeth to trespass against Jehovah, (this king Ahaz),
23 “അരാംരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദേവന്മാർ, അവരെ സഹായിച്ചു; ആ ദേവന്മാർ എന്നെയും സഹായിക്കേണ്ടതിനു ഞാൻ അവർക്കു ബലികൾ അർപ്പിക്കും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് ആഹാസ് തന്നെ തോൽപ്പിച്ച ദമസ്കോസിലെ ദേവന്മാർക്കു ബലികൾ അർപ്പിച്ചു. പക്ഷേ, ഇവയെല്ലാം അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെയും ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെയും നാശത്തിനു ഹേതുവായിത്തീർന്നു.
and he sacrificeth to the gods of Damascus — those smiting him, and saith, 'Because the gods of the kings of Aram are helping them, to them I sacrifice, and they help me,' and they have been to him to cause him to stumble, and to all Israel.
24 ആഹാസ് ദൈവാലയത്തിലെ ഉപകരണങ്ങളെല്ലാം ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂട്ടി ഉടച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അദ്ദേഹം യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ കവാടങ്ങൾ അടച്ചിട്ടു; ജെറുശലേമിന്റെ തെരുവുകോണുകളിലെല്ലാം തനിക്കായി ബലിപീഠങ്ങൾ നിർമിച്ചു.
And Ahaz gathereth the vessels of the house of God, and cutteth in pieces the vessels of the house of God, and shutteth the doors of the house of Jehovah, and maketh to himself altars in every corner in Jerusalem.
25 യെഹൂദ്യയിലെ ഓരോ നഗരത്തിലും അന്യദേവന്മാർക്കു യാഗങ്ങൾ അർപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ അദ്ദേഹം നിർമിച്ചു. അങ്ങനെ തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ അദ്ദേഹം കുപിതനാക്കി.
And in every city and city of Judah he hath made high places to make perfume to other gods, and provoketh Jehovah, God of his fathers.
26 ആഹാസിന്റെ ഭരണത്തിലെ മറ്റുസംഭവങ്ങളും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളും ആദ്യന്തം യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെയും ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെയും പുസ്തകത്തിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
And the rest of his matters, and all his ways, the first and the last, lo, they are written on the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
27 ആഹാസ് നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ച് തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോട് ചേർന്നു; അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ജെറുശലേം പട്ടണത്തിൽ സംസ്കരിച്ചു; എന്നാൽ ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ കല്ലറകളിൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തിനു സ്ഥാനം ലഭിച്ചില്ല. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മകനായ ഹിസ്കിയാവ് അദ്ദേഹത്തിനുശേഷം രാജാവായി.
And Ahaz lieth with his fathers, and they bury him in the city, in Jerusalem, but have not brought him in to the graves of the kings of Israel, and reign doth Hezekiah his son in his stead.
