2 ദിനവൃത്താന്തം 17
1 ആസായുടെ മകനായ യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് അനന്തരാവകാശിയായി രാജ്യഭാരമേറ്റു. അദ്ദേഹം ഇസ്രായേലിനെതിരേ പ്രബലനായിത്തീർന്നു.
And Iehosphat his sonne reigned in his steade, and preuailed against Israel.
2 കോട്ടകെട്ടി ബലപ്പെടുത്തിയിരുന്ന യെഹൂദ്യനഗരങ്ങളിലെല്ലാം അദ്ദേഹം പട്ടാളത്തെ പാർപ്പിച്ചു. യെഹൂദ്യയിലും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പിതാവായ ആസാ പിടിച്ചടക്കിയിരുന്ന എഫ്രയീമ്യ നഗരങ്ങളിലും അദ്ദേഹം കാവൽസേനയെ നിയോഗിച്ചു.
And he put garisons in all the strong cities of Iudah, and set bandes in the lande of Iudah and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.
3 യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് ബാൽവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ അന്വേഷിക്കാതെ തന്റെ പൂർവപിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ ഭരണത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യ വർഷങ്ങളിലേതുപോലെ ജീവിച്ചതുമൂലം യഹോവ അദ്ദേഹത്തോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
And the Lord was with Iehoshaphat, because he walked in the first wayes of his father Dauid, and sought not Baalim,
4 അദ്ദേഹം ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ പ്രവർത്തനമാർഗം പിൻതുടരാതെ, തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ദൈവത്തെ അന്വേഷിക്കുകയും അവിടത്തെ കൽപ്പനകൾ അനുസരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
But sought the Lord God of his father, and walked in his commandements, and not after the trade of Israel.
5 തന്മൂലം യഹോവ അദ്ദേഹത്തോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവിടന്ന് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ രാജത്വം സ്ഥിരമാക്കി. യെഹൂദാമുഴുവനും യെഹോശാഫാത്തിനു കാഴ്ചകൾ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിനു ധനവും മാനവും വർധിച്ചു.
Therefore the Lord stablished the kingdome in his hande, and all Iudah brought presents to Iehoshaphat, so that he had of riches and honour in abundance.
6 അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഹൃദയം യഹോവയുടെ വഴികളിൽ ഏകാഗ്രമായിത്തീരുകയും യെഹൂദ്യയിൽനിന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളും അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠകളും നീക്കിക്കളയുകയും ചെയ്തു.
And he lift vp his heart vnto the wayes of the Lord, and he tooke away moreouer the hie places and the groues out of Iudah.
7 തന്റെ ഭരണത്തിന്റെ മൂന്നാമാണ്ടിൽ അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരായ ബെൻ-ഹയീൻ, ഓബദ്യാവ്, സെഖര്യാവ്, നെഥനയേൽ, മീഖാ എന്നിവരെ യെഹൂദാനഗരങ്ങളിൽ ഉപദേഷ്ടാക്കന്മാരായി നിയോഗിച്ചു.
And in the thirde yere of his reigne he sent his princes, Ben-hail, and Obadiah, and Zechariah, and Nethaneel, and Michaiah, that they should teach in the cities of Iudah,
8 അവരോടുകൂടെ ശെമയ്യാവ്, നെഥന്യാവ്, സെബദ്യാവ്, അസാഹേൽ, ശെമിരാമോത്ത്, യെഹോനാഥാൻ, അദോനിയാവ്, തോബിയാവ്, തോബ്-അദോനിയാവ് എന്നീ ലേവ്യരും എലീശാമ, യെഹോരാം എന്നീ പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
And with them Leuites, Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Iehonathan, and Adoniiah, and Tobiiah, and Tob-adoniiah, Leuites, and with the Elishama and Iehoram Priestes.
9 അവർ യെഹൂദ്യയിലുടനീളം സഞ്ചരിച്ച് ഉപദേശിച്ചു. യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണഗ്രന്ഥം അവരുടെപക്കൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവർ യെഹൂദാ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലൂടെയെല്ലാം സഞ്ചരിച്ച് ജനത്തെ ഉപദേശിച്ചു.
And they taught in Iudah, and had the booke of the Lawe of the Lord with them, and went about throughout all the cities of Iudah, and taught the people.
10 യെഹൂദയ്ക്കു ചുറ്റുമുള്ള നാടുകളിലെ സകലരാജ്യങ്ങളിലും യഹോവയെപ്പറ്റിയുള്ള ഭീതി വീണിരുന്നു. അതിനാൽ അവരാരും യെഹോശാഫാത്തിനോടു യുദ്ധത്തിനു തുനിഞ്ഞില്ല.
And the feare of the Lord fell vpon all the kingdomes of ye lands that were round about Iudah, and they fought not against Iehoshaphat.
11 ഫെലിസ്ത്യരിൽ ചിലർ യെഹോശാഫാത്തിനു കാഴ്ചകളും കപ്പമായി വെള്ളിയും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. അറബികൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ഏഴായിരത്തി എഴുനൂറ് കോലാട്ടുകൊറ്റന്മാരും ഏഴായിരത്തി എഴുനൂറു വെള്ളാട്ടുകൊറ്റന്മാരും അടങ്ങിയ ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തെ കാഴ്ചയായി സമർപ്പിച്ചു.
Also some of the Philistims brought Iehoshaphat giftes and tribute siluer, and the Arabians brought him flockes, seuen thousande and seuen hundreth rammes, and seuen thousande and seuen hundreth hee goates.
12 യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് കൂടുതൽ കൂടുതൽ ശക്തനായിത്തീർന്നു. അദ്ദേഹം യെഹൂദ്യയിൽ കോട്ടകളും സംഭരണനഗരങ്ങളും പണിയിച്ചു.
So Iehoshaphat prospered and grewe vp on hie: and he built in Iudah palaces and cities of store.
13 അദ്ദേഹം യെഹൂദാ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ ധാരാളം വിഭവങ്ങൾ ശേഖരിച്ചിരുന്നു. തഴക്കംചെന്ന യോദ്ധാക്കളെയും അദ്ദേഹം ജെറുശലേമിൽ കരുതിയിരുന്നു.
And he had great workes in the cities of Iudah, and men of warre, and valiant men in Ierusalem.
14 കുടുംബക്രമം അനുസരിച്ച് അവരുടെ പേരുവിവരപ്പട്ടിക ഇപ്രകാരമായിരുന്നു: യെഹൂദ്യയിൽനിന്ന് സഹസ്രാധിപന്മാരുടെ ഗണം ആയിരം: അദ്നാ സൈന്യാധിപനും അദ്ദേഹത്തോടൊപ്പം മൂന്നുലക്ഷം യോദ്ധാക്കളും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു;
And these are the nombers of them after the house of their fathers, In Iudah were captaines of thousands, Adnah the captaine, and with him of valiant men three hundreth thousande.
15 അടുത്തതായി, യെഹോഹാനാൻ സൈന്യാധിപനും അദ്ദേഹത്തോടുകൂടെ രണ്ടുലക്ഷത്തി എൺപതിനായിരം ഭടന്മാർ;
And at his hande Iehohanan a captaine, and with him two hundreth and fourescore thousande.
16 അതിനടുത്തായി, സിക്രിയുടെ മകനും യഹോവയുടെ ശുശ്രൂഷയ്ക്കായി സ്വമേധയാ സമർപ്പണം ചെയ്തവനുമായ അമസ്യാവ്; അദ്ദേഹത്തോടൊപ്പം രണ്ടുലക്ഷം യോദ്ധാക്കൾ;
And at his hande Amasiah the sonne of Zichri, which willingly offered him selfe vnto the Lord, and with him two hundreth thousand valiant men.
17 ബെന്യാമീനിൽനിന്ന്: വീരപരാക്രമിയായ ഭടൻ എല്യാദാ; അദ്ദേഹത്തോടുകൂടെ വില്ലും പരിചയുമേന്തിയ രണ്ടുലക്ഷം പടയാളികൾ;
And of Beniamin, Eliada a valiant man, and with him armed men with bowe and shielde two hundreth thousand.
18 അടുത്തതായി, യെഹോസാബാദ്; അദ്ദേഹത്തോടുകൂടെ യുദ്ധത്തിനു കോപ്പണിഞ്ഞ ഒരുലക്ഷത്തി എൺപതിനായിരം ഭടന്മാർ.
And at his hand Iehozabad, and with him an hundreth and fourescore thousand armed to the warre.
19 യെഹൂദ്യയിലുടനീളമുള്ള കോട്ടകെട്ടി ബലപ്പെടുത്തിയ സുരക്ഷിതനഗരങ്ങളിലെ പടയാളികൾക്കുപുറമേ രാജാവിനെ സേവിച്ചിരുന്ന യോദ്ധാക്കൾ ഇവരായിരുന്നു.
These waited on the King, besides those which the King put in the strong cities thoroughout all Iudah.
