2 ദിനവൃത്താന്തം 15
1 ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവ് ഓദേദിന്റെ മകനായ അസര്യാവിന്റെമേൽ വന്നു.
And the spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded:
2 അദ്ദേഹം ആസയെ കാണുന്നതിനായി ചെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞു: “ആസാരാജാവേ, സകല യെഹൂദാ-ബെന്യാമീൻഗോത്രക്കാരേ, എന്റെ വാക്കു ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ കേൾക്കുക! നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവയോടുകൂടെ ആയിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവിടന്നു നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെയുണ്ടായിരിക്കും. നിങ്ങൾ അവിടത്തെ അന്വേഷിക്കുമെങ്കിൽ, കണ്ടെത്തും. എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ അവിടത്തെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചാൽ അവിടന്നു നിങ്ങളെയും ഉപേക്ഷിക്കും.
and he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin: the LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him he will forsake you.
3 വളരെക്കാലമായി ഇസ്രായേലിന് സത്യദൈവമോ പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കാൻ ഒരു പുരോഹിതനോ ന്യായപ്രമാണമോ ഇല്ലാതിരുന്നു.
Now for long seasons Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law:
4 എന്നാൽ അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ കഷ്ടതയിൽ ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു; അവിടത്തെ അന്വേഷിച്ചു; കണ്ടെത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു.
But when in their distress they turned unto the LORD, the God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them.
5 അക്കാലത്ത് ദേശവാസികളെല്ലാം കലാപങ്ങളിൽ അകപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നതിനാൽ നാട്ടിൽ ഇറങ്ങി സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നത് സുരക്ഷിതമായിരുന്നില്ല.
And in those times there was no peace to him that went out, nor to him that came in, but great vexations were upon all the inhabitants of the lands.
6 ദൈവം സകലവിധമായ കഷ്ടതകൾകൊണ്ടും അവരെ പീഡിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നതിനാൽ ഒരു രാജ്യം മറ്റൊരു രാജ്യത്താലും ഒരു നഗരം മറ്റൊരു നഗരത്താലും തകർക്കപ്പെട്ടുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
And they were broken in pieces, nation against nation, and city against city: for God did vex them with all adversity.
7 എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ശക്തി സമാഹരിക്കുക! പരിശ്രമം ഉപേക്ഷിക്കരുത്; നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾക്കു പ്രതിഫലം ലഭിക്കും.”
But be ye strong, and let not your hands be slack: for your work shall be rewarded.
8 ഓദേദിന്റെ മകനും പ്രവാചകനുമായ അസര്യാവിന്റെ വാക്കുകളും പ്രവചനവും കേട്ടപ്പോൾ ആസാ ധൈര്യമുള്ളവനായി, യെഹൂദ്യയിലെയും ബെന്യാമീനിലെയും സകലദേശങ്ങളിലും, താൻ എഫ്രയീം മലനാട്ടിൽ പിടിച്ചടക്കിയ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന സകലമ്ലേച്ഛവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും അദ്ദേഹം നീക്കംചെയ്തു. യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ പൂമുഖത്തിനു മുമ്പിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന യാഗപീഠം അദ്ദേഹം പുനരുദ്ധരിച്ചു.
And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominations out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from the hill country of Ephraim; and he renewed the altar of the LORD, that was before the porch of the LORD.
9 പിന്നെ അദ്ദേഹം സകല യെഹൂദരെയും ബെന്യാമീന്യരെയും എഫ്രയീം, മനശ്ശെ, ശിമെയോൻ എന്നീ ഗോത്രങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് അവരുടെയിടയിൽ വന്നുപാർക്കുന്നവരെയും കൂട്ടിവരുത്തി. ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആസാ രാജാവിനോടുകൂടെയുണ്ട് എന്നു കണ്ടിട്ട് ഇസ്രായേല്യരിൽനിന്ന് വളരെയധികം ആളുകൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ വന്നുചേർന്നിരുന്നു.
And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and them that sojourned with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.
10 ആസായുടെ ഭരണത്തിന്റെ പതിനഞ്ചാംവർഷം മൂന്നാംമാസത്തിൽ അവർ ജെറുശലേമിൽ സമ്മേളിച്ചു.
So they gathered themselves together at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa.
11 അവർ കൊണ്ടുവന്നിരുന്ന കൊള്ളമുതലിൽനിന്ന് എഴുനൂറു കന്നുകാലികളെയും ഏഴായിരം ചെമ്മരിയാടുകളെയും കോലാടുകളെയും അന്ന് അവർ യഹോവയ്ക്കു യാഗമർപ്പിച്ചു.
And they sacrificed unto the LORD in that day, of the spoil which they had brought, seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep.
12 തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ പൂർണഹൃദയത്തോടും പൂർണമനസ്സോടുംകൂടി അന്വേഷിക്കും എന്നൊരു ഉടമ്പടിയിൽ അവർ ഏർപ്പെട്ടു.
And they entered into the covenant to seek the LORD, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and with all their soul;
13 ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കാത്തവർ—ചെറിയവരോ വലിയവരോ സ്ത്രീയോ പുരുഷനോ ആകട്ടെ ആരായാലും—വധശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കണം എന്നും ഉടമ്പടിയിൽ വ്യവസ്ഥ ചെയ്തു.
and that whosoever would not seek the LORD, the God of Israel, should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.
14 കൊമ്പും കാഹളവും ഊതി, ഉച്ചത്തിൽ ആർത്തുവിളിച്ച്, ജയഘോഷം മുഴക്കി അവർ യഹോവയോടു ശപഥംചെയ്തു.
And they sware unto the LORD with a loud voice; and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets.
15 അവർ ശപഥംചെയ്തത് പൂർണഹൃദയത്തോടെ ആയിരുന്നതിനാൽ യെഹൂദാമുഴുവനും ഈ ശപഥത്തിൽ ആഹ്ലാദിച്ചു. അവർ ആത്മാർഥതയോടെ യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിച്ചു കണ്ടെത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു. അതിനാൽ യഹോവ അവർക്ക് എങ്ങും സ്വസ്ഥതനൽകി.
And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and the LORD gave them rest round about.
16 ആസാരാജാവിന്റെ വലിയമ്മയായ മയഖാ അശേരാദേവിക്ക് ഒരു മ്ലേച്ഛവിഗ്രഹം നിർമിച്ചതിനാൽ ആസാ അവരെ രാജമാതാവിന്റെ പദവിയിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു. അദ്ദേഹം ആ പ്രതിമ വെട്ടിവീഴ്ത്തി, അടിച്ചുതകർത്ത്, കിദ്രോൻതാഴ്വരയിൽ ഇട്ടു ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.
And also Maacah the mother of Asa the king, he removed her from being queen, because she had made an abominable image for an Asherah; and Asa cut down her image, and made dust of it, and burnt it at the brook Kidron.
17 ആസാരാജാവിന്റെ ജീവിതകാലംമുഴുവനും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഹൃദയം യഹോവയോടുള്ള ഭക്തിയിൽ ഏകാഗ്രമായിരുന്നെങ്കിലും, അദ്ദേഹം ഇസ്രായേലിൽനിന്നു ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ നീക്കംചെയ്തില്ല.
But the high places were not taken away out of Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days.
18 താനും തന്റെ പിതാവും സമർപ്പിച്ചിരുന്ന സ്വർണവും വെള്ളിയും മറ്റുപകരണങ്ങളും അദ്ദേഹം ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
And he brought into the house of God the things that his father had dedicated, and that he himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and vessels.
19 പിന്നീട് ആസായുടെ ഭരണത്തിന്റെ മുപ്പത്തഞ്ചാമാണ്ടുവരെ യുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടായില്ല.
And there was no more war unto the five and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa.
