1 ശമൂവേൽ 28
1 അക്കാലത്ത് ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ ഇസ്രായേലിനോടു പൊരുതുന്നതിനു തങ്ങളുടെ സൈന്യത്തെ സജ്ജമാക്കി. ആഖീശ് ദാവീദിനോട്: “പടയിൽ നീയും നിന്റെ ആളുകളും എന്നോടുകൂടെ പോരേണ്ടതാണ് എന്നു നീ അറിയണം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

2 “കൊള്ളാം; അങ്ങയുടെ ഈ ദാസന് എന്തുചെയ്യാൻ കഴിയുമെന്ന് അങ്ങേക്കു നേരിട്ടു കാണാം,” എന്നു ദാവീദ് മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു. ആഖീശ് വീണ്ടും: “വളരെ നന്ന്. ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ആയുഷ്പര്യന്തം എന്റെ അംഗരക്ഷകനായി നിയോഗിക്കും” എന്ന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

4 ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂടിവന്ന് ശൂനേമിൽ പാളയമിറങ്ങി. ശൗൽ എല്ലാ ഇസ്രായേല്യരെയും കൂട്ടിവരുത്തി ഗിൽബോവയിൽ പാളയമിറങ്ങി.

5 ഫെലിസ്ത്യസൈന്യത്തെ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ ശൗൽ പരിഭ്രാന്തനായി; അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഹൃദയം ഭയംകൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞു.

6 അദ്ദേഹം യഹോവയോട് ആലോചന ചോദിച്ചു; എന്നാൽ യഹോവ സ്വപ്നത്താലോ ഊറീംകൊണ്ടോ പ്രവാചകന്മാരിലൂടെയോ മറുപടി നൽകിയില്ല.

7 “ഞാൻ ചെന്ന് അഭിപ്രായം ആരായേണ്ടതിന് ഒരു വെളിച്ചപ്പാടത്തിയെ കണ്ടുപിടിക്കുക,” എന്നു ശൗൽ തന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരോട് ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചു. “എൻ-ദോരിൽ അങ്ങനെ ഒരുവളുണ്ട്,” അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

8 അതിനാൽ ശൗൽ വേഷംമാറി, വേറെ വസ്ത്രംധരിച്ച്, രണ്ടുപേരെയുംകൂട്ടി, യാത്രയായി. അവർ രാത്രിയിൽത്തന്നെ ആ സ്ത്രീയുടെ അടുത്തെത്തി. അദ്ദേഹം അവളോടു പറഞ്ഞു: “ഒരു പ്രേതാത്മാവിന്റെ സഹായത്തോടെ നീ എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി മരിച്ചുപോയ ഒരാളോടു സംസാരിക്കണം; ഞാൻ പറയുന്ന ആളുടെ ആത്മാവിനെ എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി വരുത്തിത്തരണം.”

9 എന്നാൽ ആ സ്ത്രീ അയാളോട്: “ശൗൽ ചെയ്തതെന്താണെന്ന് തീർച്ചയായും അങ്ങേക്ക് അറിയാമല്ലോ! അദ്ദേഹം വെളിച്ചപ്പാടുകളെയും ഭൂതസേവക്കാരെയും ദേശത്തുനിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ! എനിക്കു മരണം വരുത്താൻ എന്റെ ജീവനുവേണ്ടി അങ്ങ് കെണി വെക്കുന്നതെന്തിന്?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

10 “ജീവനുള്ള യഹോവയാണെ, ഇതിന്റെപേരിൽ നീ ശിക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുകയില്ല,” എന്നു ശൗൽ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ അവളോടു ശപഥംചെയ്തു.

11 “അങ്ങേക്കുവേണ്ടി ഞാൻ ആരെയാണു വരുത്തിത്തരേണ്ടത്?” എന്നു സ്ത്രീ ചോദിച്ചു. “ശമുവേലിനെ വരുത്തിത്തരണം,” എന്ന് ശൗൽ മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു.

12 ആ സ്ത്രീ ശമുവേലിനെക്കണ്ടപ്പോൾ ഉച്ചത്തിൽ നിലവിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ശൗലിനോടു ചോദിച്ചു: “അങ്ങെന്നെ ചതിച്ചതെന്തിന്? അങ്ങു ശൗലാകുന്നുവല്ലോ!” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13 രാജാവ് അവളോട്: “ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ട, പറയുക. നീ എന്താണു കാണുന്നത്?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. “ഒരു ദേവൻ ഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നു കയറിവരുന്നതു ഞാൻ കാണുന്നു,” എന്ന് സ്ത്രീ ശൗലിനോടു മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു.

14 “അവൻ ഏതുപോലെയിരിക്കുന്നു,” എന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം ചോദിച്ചു. “ഒരു വൃദ്ധൻ, നിലയങ്കിധരിച്ച് കയറിവരുന്നു,” എന്നു സ്ത്രീ പറഞ്ഞു. അതു ശമുവേലാണെന്ന് അപ്പോൾ ശൗലിനു മനസ്സിലായി. അയാൾ സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

15 “നീ എന്നെ വിളിച്ച് എന്റെ സ്വസ്ഥതയ്ക്കു ഭംഗം വരുത്തിയതെന്തിന്?” ശമുവേൽ ചോദിച്ചു. അപ്പോൾ ശൗൽ: “പിതാവേ, ഞാനേറ്റവും കഷ്ടത്തിലായിരിക്കുന്നു. ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ എന്നോടു പൊരുതുന്നു; ദൈവം എന്നെ വിട്ടകന്നുമിരിക്കുന്നു. പ്രവാചകന്മാർമുഖേനയോ സ്വപ്നത്തിലൂടെയോ അവിടന്ന് എനിക്കു മറുപടി അരുളുന്നില്ല. ഞാനെന്തു ചെയ്യണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുതരുന്നതിനായി അങ്ങയെ വിളിച്ചതാകുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

16 ശമുവേൽ പറഞ്ഞു: “യഹോവ നിന്നെ ഇപ്പോൾ കൈവിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. അവിടന്ന് നിന്റെ ശത്രുവായിത്തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. ആ നിലയ്ക്ക് നീ എന്നോട് ആലോചിക്കുന്നതെന്തിന്?
and to say Samuel and to/for what? to ask me and LORD to turn aside: turn aside from upon you and to be enemy your
17 യഹോവ എന്നിലൂടെ മുൻകൂട്ടി അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ ഇപ്പോൾ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു. യഹോവ രാജത്വം നിന്റെ കൈയിൽനിന്നു പറിച്ചെടുത്ത് നിന്റെ അയൽക്കാരിൽ ഒരുവനു— ദാവീദിനുതന്നെ—കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
and to make: do LORD to/for him like/as as which to speak: speak in/on/with hand: themselves my and to tear LORD [obj] [the] kingdom from hand your and to give: give her to/for neighbor your to/for David
18 നീ യഹോവയെ അനുസരിക്കാതിരുന്നതിനാലും അമാലേക്യരുടെനേരേ അവിടത്തെ ഉഗ്രകോപം നടത്താതിരുന്നതിനാലും യഹോവ നിന്നോട് ഇന്ന് ഇപ്രകാരം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
like/as as which not to hear: obey in/on/with voice LORD and not to make: do burning anger face: anger his in/on/with Amalek upon so [the] word: thing [the] this to make: do to/for you LORD [the] day: today [the] this
19 യഹോവ നിന്നെയും ഇസ്രായേലിനെയും ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ കരങ്ങളിൽ ഏൽപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും. നാളെ നീയും നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും എന്നോടുകൂടെയായിരിക്കും. ഇസ്രായേൽസൈന്യത്തെയും യഹോവ ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ കരങ്ങളിൽ ഏൽപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും.”
and to give: give LORD also [obj] Israel with you in/on/with hand: power Philistine and tomorrow you(m. s.) and son: child your with me also [obj] camp Israel to give: give LORD in/on/with hand: power Philistine
20 ശമുവേലിന്റെ ഈ വാക്കുകേട്ടു, ഭയന്ന്, ശൗൽ പെട്ടെന്ന് നെടുനീളത്തിൽ നിലത്തുവീണു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ബലം പൊയ്പ്പോയിരുന്നു. അന്നു പകലും രാവും അദ്ദേഹം യാതൊന്നും ഭക്ഷിച്ചിരുന്നതുമില്ല.
and to hasten Saul and to fall: fall fullness height his land: soil [to] and to fear much from word Samuel also strength not to be in/on/with him for not to eat food all [the] day and all [the] night
21 ആ സ്ത്രീ ശൗലിന്റെ അടുത്തുവന്നപ്പോൾ അയാൾ ഏറ്റവും പരിഭ്രാന്തനായിരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു. അവൾ പറഞ്ഞു: “ഇതാ, അങ്ങയുടെ ഈ ദാസി അങ്ങയെ അനുസരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ഞാനെന്റെ ജീവൻ പണയപ്പെടുത്തി അങ്ങു കൽപ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു!
and to come (in): come [the] woman to(wards) Saul and to see: see for to dismay much and to say to(wards) him behold to hear: obey maidservant your in/on/with voice: message your and to set: put soul: life my in/on/with palm my and to hear: hear [obj] word: thing your which to speak: speak to(wards) me
22 ഇപ്പോൾ അടിയന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ ദയവായി ചെവിക്കൊള്ളണമേ. അടിയൻ അങ്ങേക്ക് അൽപ്പം ഭക്ഷണം തരട്ടെ. തിന്നു ബലം പ്രാപിച്ചിട്ട് അങ്ങേക്കു സ്വന്തം വഴിക്കു പോകാമല്ലോ!”
and now to hear: obey please also you(m. s.) in/on/with voice: listen maidservant your and to set: make to/for face: before your morsel food: bread and to eat and to be in/on/with you strength for to go: went in/on/with way: journey
23 ശൗൽ അതു നിരസിച്ചു. “ഇല്ല, ഞാൻ തിന്നുകയില്ല” എന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു. എന്നാൽ ശൗലിന്റെ അനുയായികളും ആ സ്ത്രീയോടുചേർന്ന് അയാളെ നിർബന്ധിച്ചു. അപ്പോൾ ശൗൽ അവരുടെ വാക്കുകൾ കേട്ട് നിലത്തുനിന്ന് എഴുന്നേറ്റ് കട്ടിലിൽ ഇരുന്നു.
and to refuse and to say not to eat and to break through in/on/with him servant/slave his and also [the] woman and to hear: hear to/for voice their and to arise: rise from [the] land: soil and to dwell to(wards) [the] bed
24 ആ സ്ത്രീക്ക്, തന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ തടിച്ചുകൊഴുത്ത ഒരു പശുക്കിടാവുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവൾ അതിനെ വേഗം അറത്തു പാകംചെയ്തു. അവൾ മാവും എടുത്തു കുഴച്ച് പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പമുണ്ടാക്കി.
and to/for woman calf stall in/on/with house: home and to hasten and to sacrifice him and to take: take flour and to knead and to bake him unleavened bread
25 അവൾ ആ ഭക്ഷണം ശൗലിന്റെയും അനുയായികളുടെയും മുമ്പിൽ വിളമ്പി. അവർ അതു ഭക്ഷിച്ചു. അന്നുരാത്രിതന്നെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകുകയും ചെയ്തു.
