1 രാജാക്കന്മാർ 16

1 ബയെശയ്ക്കെതിരായി ഹനാനിയുടെ മകനായ യേഹുവിന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായി:

And a word of Jehovah is unto Jehu son of Hanani, against Baasha, saying,

2 “ഞാൻ നിന്നെ പൊടിയിൽനിന്ന് ഉയർത്തി; എന്റെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിനു നിന്നെ ഭരണാധികാരിയാക്കി. എന്നാൽ, നീ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ മാർഗങ്ങളിൽ സഞ്ചരിച്ചു; എന്റെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു പാപംചെയ്യിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ പാപങ്ങളാൽ എന്റെ രോഷത്തെ നീ ആളിക്കത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

'Because that I have raised thee up out of the dust, and appoint thee leader over My people Israel, and thou walkest in the way of Jeroboam, and causest My people Israel to sin — to provoke Me to anger with their sins;

3 അതിനാൽ, കണ്ടുകൊള്ളുക! ഞാൻ ബയെശയെയും അവന്റെ കുടുംബത്തെയും നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും; ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ഭവനത്തെ നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ ഭവനത്തെപ്പോലെയാക്കും.

lo, I am putting away the posterity of Baasha, even the posterity of his house, and have given up thy house as the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat;

4 ബയെശയുടെ ആളുകളിൽ നഗരത്തിൽവെച്ചു മരിക്കുന്നവനെ നായ്ക്കളും വയലിൽവെച്ചു മരിക്കുന്നവനെ ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികളും തിന്നും.”

him who dieth of Baasha in a city do the dogs eat, and him who dieth of his in a field do fowl of the heavens eat.'

5 ബയെശയുടെ ഭരണകാലത്തെ മറ്റു സംഭവങ്ങൾ, അദ്ദേഹം ചെയ്ത പ്രവൃത്തികൾ, സൈനികനേട്ടങ്ങൾ, ഇവയെല്ലാം ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ ചരിത്രഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടില്ലേ?

And the rest of the matters of Baasha, and that which he did, and his might, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?

6 ബയെശാ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ച് തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോട് ചേർന്നു; അദ്ദേഹത്തെ തിർസ്സയിൽ സംസ്കരിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മകനായ ഏലാ പിന്നീടു രാജസ്ഥാനം വഹിച്ചു.

And Baasha lieth with his fathers, and is buried in Tirzah, and Elah his son reigneth in his stead.

7 ബയെശാ യഹോവയുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ യൊരോബെയാം ഗൃഹത്തെപ്പോലെതന്നെ സകലദുഷ്ടതകളും പ്രവർത്തിച്ച് യഹോവയെ കോപിപ്പിക്കുകയും യൊരോബെയാം ഗൃഹത്തെ നശിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഈ രണ്ടു കാരണങ്ങളാൽ ബയെശയ്ക്കും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കുടുംബത്തിനുമെതിരായി ഹനാനിയുടെ മകനായ യേഹുപ്രവാചകൻ മുഖാന്തരം യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായി.

And also by the hand of Jehu son of Hanani the prophet a word of Jehovah hath been concerning Baasha, and concerning his house, and concerning all the evil that he did in the eyes of Jehovah to provoke Him to anger with the work of his hands, to be like the house of Jeroboam, and concerning that for which he smote him.

8 യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസായുടെ ഇരുപത്തിയാറാംവർഷം ബയെശയുടെ മകനായ ഏലാ ഇസ്രായേലിൽ രാജാവായി ഭരണം ആരംഭിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹം തിർസ്സയിൽ രണ്ടുവർഷം ഭരിച്ചു.

In the twenty and sixth year of Asa king of Judah reigned hath Elah son of Baasha over Israel in Tirzah, two years;

9 ഏലയുടെ ഒരു ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥനും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ രഥസൈന്യങ്ങളിൽ പകുതിക്ക് അധിപനുമായ സിമ്രി അയാൾക്കെതിരേ ഗൂഢാലോചന നടത്തി. ഏലാ ആ സമയത്ത് മദ്യപിച്ചു മദോന്മത്തനായി തിർസ്സയിൽ കൊട്ടാരത്തിന്റെ ഭരണാധിപനുമായ അർസ്സയുടെ വീട്ടിൽ ഇരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

and conspire against him doth his servant Zimri (head of the half of the chariots) and he [is] in Tirzah drinking — a drunkard in the house of Arza, who [is] over the house in Tirzah.

10 സിമ്രി അകത്തുകടന്ന് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ വെട്ടിക്കൊന്നു. യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസായുടെ ഇരുപത്തിയേഴാംവർഷത്തിലാണ് ഇതു സംഭവിച്ചത്. അതിനെത്തുടർന്ന്, സിമ്രി അടുത്ത രാജാവായി സ്ഥാനമേറ്റു.

And Zimri cometh in and smiteth him, and putteth him to death, in the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigneth in his stead;

11 സിംഹാസനസ്ഥനായി ഭരണം ഏറ്റെടുത്തയുടൻതന്നെ സിമ്രി ബയെശയുടെ കുടുംബത്തെ മുഴുവനും വധിച്ചു. ആ കുടുംബത്തിൽപ്പെട്ട ഒരൊറ്റ പുരുഷനെയും ശേഷിപ്പിച്ചില്ല; വീണ്ടെടുപ്പവകാശമുള്ള ബന്ധുക്കളെയോ സുഹൃത്തുക്കളെയോ ശേഷിപ്പിച്ചില്ല.

and it cometh to pass in his reigning, at his sitting on his throne, he hath smitten the whole house of Baasha; he hath not left to him any sitting on the wall, and of his redeemers, and of his friends.

12 അങ്ങനെ, യേഹുപ്രവാചകനിലൂടെ ബയെശയ്ക്കെതിരായി യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വാക്കുകൾപ്രകാരം സിമ്രി ബയെശയുടെ കുടുംബത്തെ പൂർണമായും നശിപ്പിച്ചു.

And Zimri destroyeth the whole house of Baasha, according to the word of Jehovah, that He spake concerning Baasha, by the hand of Jehu the prophet:

13 ബയെശയും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മകൻ ഏലയും പാപംചെയ്യുകയും ഇസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ട് ആ പാപകർമങ്ങളെല്ലാം ചെയ്യിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. അങ്ങനെ, അവർ മിഥ്യാമൂർത്തികളെ ആരാധിച്ച് ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ കുപിതനാക്കി.

concerning all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, that they sinned, and that they caused Israel to sin to provoke Jehovah, God of Israel, with their vanities.

14 ഏലയുടെ ഭരണകാലത്തെ മറ്റു സംഭവവികാസങ്ങളും, അദ്ദേഹം ചെയ്ത സകലപ്രവൃത്തികളും ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ ചരിത്രഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടില്ലേ?

And the rest of the matters of Elah, and all that he did, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?

15 യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസായുടെ ഇരുപത്തിയേഴാംവർഷം തിർസ്സയിൽ സിമ്രി ഏഴുദിവസം ഭരിച്ചു. ആ സമയം, ഇസ്രായേൽസൈന്യം ഫെലിസ്ത്യനഗരമായ ഗിബ്ബെഥോൻ ഉപരോധിച്ചിരുന്നു.

In the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah, reigned hath Zimri seven days in Tirzah; and the people are encamping against Gibbethon, which [is] to the Philistines;

16 സിമ്രി, രാജാവിനെതിരേ ഗൂഢാലോചന നടത്തി അദ്ദേഹത്തെ വധിച്ചു എന്ന് ഇസ്രായേല്യസൈന്യം കേട്ടപ്പോൾ അവർ അന്നുതന്നെ പാളയത്തിൽവെച്ച് സേനാധിപതിയായ ഒമ്രിയെ ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാവായി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു.

and the people who are encamping hear, saying, 'Zimri hath conspired, and also hath smitten the king;' and all Israel cause Omri head of the host to reign over Israel on that day in the camp.

17 പിന്നെ, ഒമ്രിയും സകല ഇസ്രായേലും ഗിബ്ബെഥോനിൽനിന്നു പിൻവാങ്ങി തിർസ്സയെ ഉപരോധിച്ചു.

And Omri goeth up, and all Israel with him, from Gibbethon, and they lay siege to Tirzah.

18 നഗരം പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടുവെന്നു കണ്ടപ്പോൾ സിമ്രി രാജകൊട്ടാരത്തിന്റെ ഉൾമുറിയിൽക്കടന്ന് കൊട്ടാരത്തിനു തീവെച്ച് സ്വയം മരിച്ചു.

And it cometh to pass, at Zimri's seeing that the city hath been captured, that he cometh in unto a high place of the house of the king, and burneth over him the house of the king with fire, and dieth,

19 സിമ്രി യഹോവയുടെ കണ്മുമ്പിൽ തിന്മ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുകയും, സ്വയം പാപംചെയ്യുകയും ഇസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു പാപംചെയ്യിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്ത യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ മാർഗങ്ങളിൽ സഞ്ചരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതിനാൽ ഇപ്രകാരം സംഭവിച്ചു.

for his sins that he sinned, to do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, to walk in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin that he did, to cause Israel to sin;

20 സിമ്രിയുടെ ഭരണകാലത്തെ മറ്റുസംഭവങ്ങളും അദ്ദേഹം നടത്തിയ ഗൂഢാലോചനയും ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ ചരിത്രഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടില്ലേ?

and the rest of the matters of Zimri, and his conspiracy that he made, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?

21 സിമ്രിയുടെ മരണശേഷം ഇസ്രായേൽജനം രണ്ടു വിഭാഗമായി വേർതിരിഞ്ഞു; ഒരുവിഭാഗം ഗീനത്തിന്റെ മകൻ തിബ്നിയെ രാജാവാക്കുന്നതിനോട് അനുകൂലിച്ചപ്പോൾ മറ്റേവിഭാഗം ഒമ്രിക്കു പിന്തുണ നൽകി.

Then are the sons of Israel parted into halves; half of the people hath been after Tibni son of Ginath to cause him to reign, and the half after Omri;

22 എന്നാൽ, ഒമ്രിയെ അനുകൂലിച്ചവർ ഗീനത്തിന്റെ മകൻ തിബ്നിയെ അനുകൂലിച്ചവരെ യുദ്ധത്തിൽ പരാജയപ്പെടുത്തി. അങ്ങനെ, തിബ്നി വധിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ഒമ്രി രാജാവാകുകയും ചെയ്തു.

and stronger are the people that are after Omri than the people that are after Tibni son of Ginath, and Tibni dieth, and Omri reigneth.

23 യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസായുടെ മുപ്പത്തിയൊന്നാംവർഷം ഒമ്രി ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാവായി. അദ്ദേഹം പന്ത്രണ്ടുവർഷം ഭരണംനടത്തി; അതിൽ, ആറുവർഷം അദ്ദേഹം തിർസ്സയിലാണ് ഭരിച്ചത്.

In the thirty and first year of Asa king of Judah reigned hath Omri over Israel twelve years; in Tirzah he hath reigned six years,

24 അദ്ദേഹം, രണ്ടുതാലന്തു വെള്ളികൊടുത്തു ശമര്യമല ശെമേറിനോടു വാങ്ങി; ആ മലമുകളിൽ ഒരു നഗരം പണിതു കോട്ടകെട്ടിയുറപ്പിച്ചു. മലയുടെ മുൻ ഉടമയായിരുന്ന ശെമെരിന്റെ പേരിനെ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കി നഗരത്തിനു ശമര്യ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

and he buyeth the mount Samaria from Shemer, with two talents of silver, and buildeth [on] the mount, and calleth the name of the city that he hath built by the name of Shemer, lord of the hill — Samaria.

25 എന്നാൽ, ഒമ്രി യഹോവയുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ ദുഷ്ടത പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു; തനിക്കു മുമ്പു ഭരണം നടത്തിയിരുന്ന ആരെക്കാളും അധികം തിന്മ അദ്ദേഹം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.

And Omri doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, and doth evil above all who [are] before him,

26 നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ എല്ലാ മാർഗങ്ങളിലും അദ്ദേഹം ഇസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ട് പ്രവർത്തിപ്പിച്ച എല്ലാ പാപങ്ങളിലും സഞ്ചരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. അങ്ങനെ, തങ്ങളുടെ മിഥ്യാമൂർത്തികളെ ആരാധിച്ച് അവർ ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചു.

and walketh in all the way of Jeroboam son of Nebat, and in his sin that he caused Israel to sin, to provoke Jehovah, God of Israel, with their vanities.

27 ഒമ്രിയുടെ ഭരണകാലത്തെ മറ്റു സംഭവങ്ങൾ, അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ, പരാക്രമപ്രവൃത്തികൾ എന്നിവയെല്ലാം ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ ചരിത്രഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടില്ലേ?

And the rest of the matters of Omri that he did, and his might that he got, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?

28 ഒമ്രി നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ച് തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോട് ചേർന്നു; ശമര്യയിൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ സംസ്കരിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മകനായ ആഹാബ് തുടർന്നു ഭരണം ഏറ്റെടുത്തു.

And Omri lieth with his fathers, and is buried in Samaria, and Ahab his son reigneth in his stead.

29 യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസായുടെ മുപ്പത്തിയെട്ടാംവർഷം ഒമ്രിയുടെ മകനായ ആഹാബ് ഇസ്രായേലിൽ രാജാവായി. അദ്ദേഹം, ഇരുപത്തിരണ്ടു വർഷം ശമര്യയിൽ ഇസ്രായേലിനെ ഭരിച്ചു.

And Ahab son of Omri hath reigned over Israel in the thirty and eighth year of Asa king of Judah, and Ahab son of Omri reigneth over Israel in Samaria twenty and two years,

30 ഒമ്രിയുടെ മകനായ ആഹാബ്, തനിക്കു മുമ്പുണ്ടായിരുന്ന എല്ലാവരെക്കാളുമധികം യഹോവയുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ തിന്മ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.

and Ahab son of Omri doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah above all who [are] before him.

31 അദ്ദേഹം, നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാം ചെയ്ത തിന്മകളെല്ലാം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നത് നിസ്സാരവൽക്കരിച്ചുക്കൊണ്ട് സീദോന്യരാജാവായ എത്ത്-ബാലിന്റെ മകളായ ഈസബേലിനെ വിവാഹംകഴിക്കുകയും ബാൽപ്രതിഷ്ഠയെ സേവിക്കുകയും അതിനെ ആരാധിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

And it cometh to pass — hath it been light his walking in the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat? — then he taketh a wife, Jezebel daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Zidonians, and goeth and serveth Baal, and boweth himself to it,

32 ആഹാബ് ശമര്യയിൽ നിർമിച്ച ബാൽക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ബാലിന് ഒരു ബലിപീഠവും

and raiseth up an altar for Baal, in the house of the Baal, that he built in Samaria;

33 ഒരു അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠയും സ്ഥാപിച്ചു. അങ്ങനെ, തന്റെ മുൻഗാമികളായ സകല ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരെക്കാളും അധികം ദോഷം പ്രവർത്തിച്ച് ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ അദ്ദേഹം കോപിപ്പിച്ചു.

and Ahab maketh the shrine, and Ahab addeth to do so as to provoke Jehovah, God of Israel, above all the kings of Israel who have been before him.

34 ആഹാബിന്റെ ഭരണകാലത്ത് ബേഥേല്യനായ ഹീയേൽ യെരീഹോനഗരം പുനർനിർമിച്ചു. നൂന്റെ മകനായ യോശുവ മുഖാന്തരം യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനപ്രകാരം; അതിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനമിട്ടപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യജാതൻ അബീരാമും അതിന്റെ കവാടം ഉറപ്പിച്ചപ്പോൾ ഏറ്റവും ഇളയപുത്രൻ സെഗൂബും നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു.

In his days hath Hiel the Beth-Elite built Jericho; in Abiram his first-born he laid its foundation, and in Segub his youngest he set up its doors, according to the word of Jehovah that He spake by the hand of Joshua son of Nun.
