1 രാജാക്കന്മാർ 10

1 യഹോവയുടെ നാമം സംബന്ധിച്ച് ശലോമോനുള്ള പ്രശസ്തി കേട്ടിട്ട് ശേബാരാജ്ഞി കഠിനമായ ചോദ്യങ്ങളുമായി അദ്ദേഹത്തെ പരീക്ഷിക്കാൻ വന്നു.

And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon in connection with the name of the Lord, she came to prove him with riddles.

2 സുഗന്ധദ്രവ്യങ്ങളും ധാരാളം സ്വർണവും വിലപിടിപ്പുള്ള രത്നക്കല്ലുകളും വഹിക്കുന്ന ഒട്ടകങ്ങളുമായി വമ്പിച്ച പരിവാരങ്ങളോടെയാണ് രാജ്ഞി ജെറുശലേമിൽ എത്തിയത്. അവൾ ശലോമോന്റെ അടുക്കലെത്തി തന്റെ മനസ്സിൽ നിരൂപിച്ചിരുന്ന സകലകാര്യങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചും അദ്ദേഹവുമായി സംസാരിച്ചു.

And she came to Jerusalem with an exceedingly great train, with camels bearing spices, and gold in great abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she spoke with him of all that was on her heart.

3 അവളുടെ എല്ലാ ചോദ്യങ്ങൾക്കും ശലോമോൻ മറുപടി നൽകി; വിശദീകരണം കൊടുക്കാൻ കഴിയാത്തവിധം യാതൊന്നും രാജാവിന് അജ്ഞാതമായിരുന്നില്ല.

And Solomon solved [for] her all her questions: nothing remained hidden from the king, which he did not tell her.

4 ശലോമോന്റെ ജ്ഞാനം, അദ്ദേഹം പണിയിച്ച അരമന,

And when the queen of Sheba saw all Solomon's wisdom, and the house that he had built,

5 മേശയിലെ വിഭവങ്ങൾ, ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരുടെ ഇരിപ്പ്, പ്രത്യേക വേഷവിധാനമണിഞ്ഞ പരിചാരകവൃന്ദങ്ങളുടെ നിൽപ്പ്, പാനപാത്രവാഹകർ, യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ അർപ്പിച്ച ഹോമയാഗങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയെല്ലാം കണ്ടപ്പോൾ ശേബാരാജ്ഞി വിസ്മയസ്തബ്ധയായി.

And the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cup-bearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the Lord: there was no more spirit in her.

6 അവൾ രാജാവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു: “അങ്ങയുടെ നേട്ടങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചും ജ്ഞാനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും എന്റെ സ്വന്തംനാട്ടിൽവെച്ചു ഞാൻ കേട്ട വാർത്ത സത്യംതന്നെ.

And she said to the king, The truth only was the word that I heard in my own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom.

7 പക്ഷേ, ഇവിടെയെത്തി എന്റെ സ്വന്തം കണ്ണുകൾകൊണ്ടു നേരിൽ കാണുന്നതുവരെ ഈ കാര്യങ്ങൾ ഞാൻ വിശ്വസിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല. യഥാർഥത്തിൽ ഇതിൽ പകുതിപോലും ഞാൻ കേട്ടിരുന്നില്ല. അങ്ങയുടെ ജ്ഞാനവും ധനസമ്പത്തും ഞാൻ കേട്ടതിനെക്കാൾ എത്രയോ അധികമാണ്.

And I believed not in the words, until I came, and my eyes saw [all]: and, behold, the half hath not been told me; thou excellest in wisdom and prosperity the report which I have heard.

8 അങ്ങയുടെ ജനം എത്ര ഭാഗ്യംചെന്നവർ! അങ്ങയുടെ ജ്ഞാനവചനങ്ങൾ എപ്പോഴും കേൾക്കുന്ന അങ്ങയുടെ സേവകരും എത്ര ഭാഗ്യശാലികൾ!

Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, who stand before thee continually, who hear thy wisdom.

9 അങ്ങയിൽ പ്രസാദിച്ച് അങ്ങയെ ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജസിംഹാസനത്തിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ച അങ്ങയുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവൻ. യഹോവയ്ക്ക് ഇസ്രായേലിനോടുള്ള നിത്യമായ സ്നേഹംനിമിത്തം യഹോവ അങ്ങയെ നീതിയും ധർമവും പരിപാലിക്കാൻ രാജാവാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.”

Blessed be the Lord thy God, who hath had delight in thee, to place thee on the throne of Israel; because the Lord loveth Israel for ever, therefore hath he made thee king, to do justice and righteousness.

10 അവൾ നൂറ്റിയിരുപതു താലന്തു സ്വർണവും വളരെയേറെ സുഗന്ധദ്രവ്യങ്ങളും വിലപിടിപ്പുള്ള രത്നങ്ങളും രാജാവിനു സമ്മാനിച്ചു. ശേബാരാജ്ഞി ശലോമോൻ രാജാവിനു സമ്മാനിച്ചിടത്തോളം സുഗന്ധദ്രവ്യങ്ങൾ പിന്നീടൊരിക്കലും അദ്ദേഹത്തിനു ലഭിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.

And she gave to the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices a very great store, and precious stones: there came no more spices in such abundance as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.

11 (ഇതു കൂടാതെ, ഹീരാമിന്റെ കപ്പലുകൾ ഓഫീറിൽനിന്ന് സ്വർണവും ധാരാളം ചന്ദനത്തടികളും വിലപിടിപ്പുള്ള രത്നങ്ങളും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

And also the ship of Hiram, that fetched gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir in great abundance sandal-wood and precious stones.

12 യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിനും രാജകൊട്ടാരത്തിനും തൂണുകൾ നിർമിക്കുന്നതിനും ഗായകർക്കുവേണ്ടി കിന്നരങ്ങളും വീണകളും ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നതിനും രാജാവ് ആ ചന്ദനത്തടികൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ചു. അതിനുശേഷം, ഇത്രയധികം ചന്ദനത്തടികൾ ഇന്നോളം ഇറക്കുമതി ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല; കാണാനും കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല.)

And the king made of the sandal-wood a railing for the house of the Lord, and for the king's house, and harps and psalteries for the singers: there came no such sandal-wood, nor was it seen [again] until this day.

13 ശലോമോൻരാജാവ് ശേബാരാജ്ഞിക്ക് ഔദാര്യപൂർവം നൽകിയ രാജകീയ സമ്മാനങ്ങൾക്കുപുറമേ, ശേബാരാജ്ഞി ആഗ്രഹിച്ചതും ചോദിച്ചതുമെല്ലാം ശലോമോൻരാജാവ് അവൾക്കു നൽകി. അതിനുശേഷം, അവൾ പരിവാരസമേതം സ്വദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

And king Solomon gave unto the queen of Sheba all her pleasure, whatsoever she asked, beside what Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned about and went to her own country, she and her servants.

14 ശലോമോൻ രാജാവിനു പ്രതിവർഷം ലഭിച്ചിരുന്ന സ്വർണത്തിന്റെ തൂക്കം 666 താലന്ത് ആയിരുന്നു.

Now the weight of the gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty and six talents of gold,

15 ഇതു കൂടാതെ വ്യാപാരികളിൽനിന്നും ചെറുകിടകച്ചവടക്കാരിൽനിന്നും ലഭിച്ചിരുന്ന നികുതിയും സകല അറബിരാജാക്കന്മാരിൽനിന്നും ദേശാധിപതികളിൽനിന്നും കപ്പമായി ലഭിച്ചിരുന്നവയും തന്റെ വരുമാനമായിരുന്നു.

Beside [what he had] of the traveling tradesmen, and of the traffic of the merchants, and of the kings of confederate nations, and of the governors of the country.

16 അടിച്ചുപരത്തിയ സ്വർണംകൊണ്ട് ഇരുനൂറു വലിയ പരിചകൾ ശലോമോൻരാജാവ് നിർമിച്ചു. ഓരോ പരിചയും അടിച്ചുപരത്തുന്നതിന് അറുനൂറു ശേക്കേൽ വീതം സ്വർണം ചെലവായി.

And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of gold he used for each one target.

17 അടിച്ചുപരത്തിയ സ്വർണംകൊണ്ട് മുന്നൂറു ചെറുപരിചകളും അദ്ദേഹം നിർമിച്ചു. അവ ഓരോന്നിനും മൂന്നു മിന്നാ സ്വർണം ആവശ്യമായിവന്നു. രാജാവ് ലെബാനോൻ വനസൗധത്തിൽ അവ സൂക്ഷിച്ചു.

And [he made] three hundred shields of beaten gold; three manehs of gold he used for each one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

18 പിന്നീട്, രാജാവ് ദന്തംകൊണ്ട് ഒരു സിംഹാസനമുണ്ടാക്കി അതു മേൽത്തരമായ സ്വർണംകൊണ്ടു പൊതിഞ്ഞു.

The king also made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the best gold.

19 സിംഹാസനത്തിന് ആറു പടികൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; സിംഹാസനത്തിന്റെ മുകൾഭാഗം ഗോളാകൃതിയിലായിരുന്നു; ഇരിപ്പിടത്തിന്റെ ഇരുവശത്തും കൈതാങ്ങികളും ഓരോന്നിന്റെയും വശങ്ങളിൽ ഓരോ സിംഹത്തിന്റെ രൂപവും നിൽക്കുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

The throne had six steps, and there was a round top on the throne behind; and there were arms on either side on the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the arms.

20 പടിയുടെ ഇരുവശങ്ങളിലും ഓരോന്നുവെച്ച് ആറു പടികളിലായി പന്ത്രണ്ടു സിംഹങ്ങൾ നിന്നിരുന്നു. ഇതുപോലെ ഒരു സിംഹാസനം ഒരു രാജ്യത്തും ഒരിക്കലും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിട്ടില്ല.

And twelve lions stood there upon the six steps on both sides: there was not the like made in any other kingdom.

21 ശലോമോൻരാജാവിന്റെ പാനപാത്രങ്ങളെല്ലാം സ്വർണനിർമിതമായിരുന്നു. ലെബാനോൻ വനസൗധത്തിലെ വീട്ടുപകരണങ്ങളെല്ലാം തങ്കത്തിൽ തീർത്തവയായിരുന്നു; ശലോമോന്റെകാലത്ത് വെള്ളിക്കു വിലയില്ലാതിരുന്നതിനാൽ ഉപകരണങ്ങളൊന്നുംതന്നെ വെള്ളിയിൽ തീർത്തിരുന്നില്ല.

And all king Solomon's drinking-vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; none were of silver; it was not valued in the days of Solomon at the least.

22 കടലിൽ ഹീരാമിന്റെ കപ്പലുകളോടൊപ്പം രാജാവിന് ഒരു വാണിജ്യക്കപ്പൽവ്യൂഹം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവ മൂന്നുവർഷത്തിലൊരിക്കൽ സ്വർണം, വെള്ളി, ആനക്കൊമ്പ്, ആൾക്കുരങ്ങുകൾ, മയിലുകൾ എന്നിവ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ എത്തിച്ചിരുന്നു.

For the king had a Tharshish-ship at sea with the ship of Hiram: once in three years the Tharshish-ship used to come home, laden with gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

23 ശലോമോൻരാജാവ് ഭൂമിയിലെ മറ്റു സകലരാജാക്കന്മാരെക്കാളും സമ്പത്തിലും ജ്ഞാനത്തിലും മികച്ചുനിന്നു.

And king Solomon became greater than all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom.

24 ദൈവം അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ കൊടുത്ത ജ്ഞാനം കേൾക്കാൻ സർവലോകരും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അന്വേഷിച്ചുവന്നു.

And [men of] all the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

25 അവരിൽ ഓരോരുത്തരും, സ്വർണവും വെള്ളിയുംകൊണ്ടുള്ള വസ്തുക്കൾ, വസ്ത്രങ്ങൾ, ആയുധങ്ങൾ, സുഗന്ധദ്രവ്യങ്ങൾ, കുതിരകൾ, കോവർകഴുതകൾ മുതലായവ ഓരോവർഷവും കാഴ്ചവസ്തുക്കളായി കൊണ്ടുവന്നിരുന്നു.

And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armor, and spices, horses, and mules: and so year by year.

26 ശലോമോൻ രഥങ്ങൾ, കുതിരകൾ എന്നിവ ശേഖരിച്ചു; അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് 1,400 രഥങ്ങളും 12,000 കുതിരകളും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവ അദ്ദേഹം രഥനഗരങ്ങളിലും തന്നോടൊപ്പം ജെറുശലേമിലും സൂക്ഷിച്ചു.

And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he quartered in the cities for chariots, and near the king at Jerusalem.

27 രാജാവ് ജെറുശലേമിൽ വെള്ളി കല്ലുകൾപോലെ സർവസാധാരണവും കുന്നിൻപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലെ കാട്ടത്തിമരംപോലെ ദേവദാരു സുലഭവുമാക്കിത്തീർത്തു.

And the king rendered the silver in Jerusalem like stones, and the cedars he rendered like the sycamore-trees that are in the lowlands, for abundance.

28 ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്നും കുവേയിൽനിന്നും ശലോമോൻ കുതിരകളെ ഇറക്കുമതി ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. രാജാവിന്റെ വ്യാപാരികൾ അവ കുവേയിൽനിന്നു നിശ്ചിത വിലകൊടുത്തു വാങ്ങിയിരുന്നു.

And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt; and a company of the king's merchants bought a quantity at a price.

29 ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്ന് ഒരു രഥം അറുനൂറുശേക്കൽ വെള്ളിക്കും ഒരു കുതിര നൂറ്റിയമ്പതു ശേക്കേൽ വെള്ളിക്കും ഇറക്കുമതി ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. രാജാവിന്റെ വ്യാപാരികൾമുഖേന ഹിത്യരാജാക്കന്മാർക്കും അരാമ്യരാജാക്കന്മാർക്കുംവേണ്ടി അവർ അവ കയറ്റുമതിയും ചെയ്തു.

And a chariot-team came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty: and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, did they bring them out by their means.
