1 കൊരിന്ത്യർ 10
1 സഹോദരങ്ങളേ, നമ്മുടെ പൂർവികർ എല്ലാവരും മേഘത്തിൻ കീഴിലായിരുന്നതെക്കുറിച്ചും അവരെല്ലാവരും സമുദ്രത്തിലൂടെ കടന്നുപോയതിനെക്കുറിച്ചും നിങ്ങൾ അജ്ഞരായിരിക്കരുതെന്ന് ഞാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.
I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, that our forefathers were all under the cloud, and that they all passed through the sea.
2 അവരെല്ലാവരും മേഘത്തിലും സമുദ്രത്തിലും സ്നാനമേറ്റു മോശയോടു ചേർന്നു.
They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea.
3 എല്ലാവരും ഒരേ ആത്മികഭോജനം കഴിക്കുകയും
They all ate the same spiritual food
4 ഒരേ ആത്മികപാനീയം കുടിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. തങ്ങളെ അനുഗമിച്ച ആത്മികശിലയിൽനിന്നാണ് അവർ പാനംചെയ്തത്; ക്രിസ്തു ആയിരുന്നു ആ ശില.
and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.
5 എന്നാൽ അവരിൽ അധികംപേരിലും ദൈവം സന്തുഷ്ടനായില്ല; അവരുടെ മൃതശരീരങ്ങൾ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ ചിതറിക്കിടന്നു.
Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them, for they were struck down in the wilderness.
6 അവരെപ്പോലെ നാമും ദുഷിച്ചകാര്യങ്ങളിൽ ആമഗ്നരാകാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് അവർക്കു സംഭവിച്ച കാര്യങ്ങൾ നമുക്കൊരു മുന്നറിയിപ്പായിത്തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
These things took place as examples to keep us from craving evil things as they did.
7 അവരിൽ ചിലരെപ്പോലെ നിങ്ങൾ വിഗ്രഹാരാധകരാകരുത്. “ജനം ഭക്ഷിക്കാനും കുടിക്കാനും ഇരുന്നു, വിളയാടാൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു” എന്നെഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നല്ലോ.
Do not be idolaters, as some of them were. As it is written: “The people sat down to eat and to drink, and got up to indulge in revelry.”
8 നാം അവരിൽ ചിലരെപ്പോലെ അസാന്മാർഗികളാകരുത്; വ്യഭിചാരംനിമിത്തം അവരിൽ 23,000 പേർ ഒരൊറ്റ ദിവസംകൊണ്ടു മരിച്ചുപോയി.
We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died.
9 അവരിൽ മറ്റുചിലർ ചെയ്തതുപോലെ നാം ക്രിസ്തുവിനെ പരീക്ഷിക്കരുത്; അവർ സർപ്പദംശനമേറ്റ് മരിച്ചല്ലോ.
We should not test Christ, as some of them did, and were killed by snakes.
10 അവരിൽ വേറെചിലർ ചെയ്തതുപോലെ നാം മുറുമുറുക്കുന്നവരും ആകരുത്; അവരെ സംഹാരദൂതൻ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞല്ലോ.
And do not complain, as some of them did, and were killed by the destroying angel.
11 ഈ കാര്യങ്ങൾ അവർക്ക് ഉദാഹരണങ്ങളായി സംഭവിച്ചു; യുഗസമാപ്തിയോടടുത്തു ജീവിക്കുന്ന നമുക്കു മുന്നറിയിപ്പായി എഴുതപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. (aiōn g165)
Now these things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come. (aiōn g165)
12 അതുകൊണ്ട്, താൻ ഉറച്ചുനിൽക്കുന്നെന്നു കരുതുന്നയാൾ വീഴാതിരിക്കാൻ സൂക്ഷിക്കട്ടെ.
So the one who thinks he is standing firm should be careful not to fall.
13 മനുഷ്യർക്കു സാധാരണമല്ലാത്ത പ്രലോഭനങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങൾക്കുണ്ടായിട്ടില്ല. ദൈവം വിശ്വസ്തൻ; നിങ്ങളുടെ ശക്തിക്കതീതമായ പ്രലോഭനം അവിടന്ന് അനുവദിക്കുകയില്ല. പ്രലോഭനം ഉണ്ടാകുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾക്കു സഹിക്കാൻ കഴിയേണ്ടതിന് അതിൽനിന്ന് രക്ഷപ്പെടാനുള്ള വഴിയും അതോടൊപ്പംതന്നെ ദൈവം ഉണ്ടാക്കിത്തരും.
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide an escape, so that you can stand up under it.
14 അതുകൊണ്ട് എന്റെ പ്രിയസഹോദരങ്ങളേ, വിഗ്രഹാരാധന വിട്ട് പലായനംചെയ്യുക,
Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
15 ഞാൻ സംസാരിക്കുന്നത് വിവേകശാലികളോടാണല്ലോ; ഞാൻ പറയുന്നത് ഒന്നു ഗ്രഹിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുക:
I speak to reasonable people; judge for yourselves what I say.
16 നാം സ്തോത്രാർപ്പണം ചെയ്യുന്ന പാനപാത്രം ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ രക്തത്തിലുള്ള കൂട്ടായ്മ അല്ലേ? നാം നുറുക്കുന്ന അപ്പം ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ശരീരത്തിലുള്ള നമ്മുടെ കൂട്ടായ്മ അല്ലേ?
Is not the cup of blessing that we bless a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ?
17 അപ്പം ഒന്നേയുള്ളൂ; പലരായ നാം ഒരു ശരീരമാകുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് ഒരേ അപ്പത്തിൽ പങ്കാളികളാകുന്നു.
Because there is one loaf, we who are many are one body; for we all partake of the one loaf.
18 ഇസ്രായേൽജനതയെക്കുറിച്ചു ചിന്തിച്ചുനോക്കുക: യാഗാർപ്പണംചെയ്ത ഭക്ഷ്യവസ്തുക്കൾ കഴിക്കുന്നവർ ആ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ പങ്കാളികൾ ആകുകയല്ലേ?
Consider the people of Israel: Are not those who eat the sacrifices fellow partakers in the altar?
19 എന്നാൽ യെഹൂദേതരരുടെ ബലികൾ ദൈവത്തിനല്ല ഭൂതങ്ങൾക്ക് അർപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടവയാണ്. നിങ്ങൾ ഭൂതങ്ങളുടെ പങ്കാളികളാകാൻ ഞാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ല. വിഗ്രഹത്തിന് അർപ്പിച്ച ബലിക്കോ വിഗ്രഹത്തിനോ എന്തെങ്കിലും മഹത്ത്വമുണ്ടെന്നാണോ ഞാൻ അർഥമാക്കുന്നത്? ഒരിക്കലുമല്ല.
Am I suggesting, then, that food sacrificed to an idol is anything, or that an idol is anything?
No, but the sacrifices of pagans are offered to demons, not to God. And I do not want you to be participants with demons.
21 നിങ്ങൾക്കു കർത്താവിന്റെ പാനപാത്രത്തിൽനിന്നും ഒപ്പം ഭൂതങ്ങളുടെ പാനപാത്രത്തിൽനിന്നും കുടിക്കാൻ സാധ്യമല്ല. കർത്താവിന്റെ മേശയിലും ഭൂതങ്ങളുടെ മേശയിലും നിങ്ങൾക്കു പങ്കുണ്ടായിരിക്കാനും പാടില്ല.
You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot partake in the table of the Lord and the table of demons too.
22 നാം കർത്താവിനു രോഷം ജ്വലിപ്പിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നോ? നാം അവിടത്തെക്കാൾ ശക്തരോ?
Are we trying to provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?
23 “എല്ലാം അനുവദനീയമാണ്” എന്നാൽ എല്ലാം ഗുണകരമല്ല. “എല്ലാം അനുവദനീയമാണ്” എന്നാൽ എല്ലാം ആത്മികാഭിവൃദ്ധി വരുത്തുന്നില്ല.
“Everything is permissible,” but not everything is beneficial. “Everything is permissible,” but not everything is edifying.
24 ഒരാളും സ്വന്തം നന്മയല്ല, മറ്റുള്ളവരുടെ നന്മയാണ് അന്വേഷിക്കേണ്ടത്.
No one should seek his own good, but the good of others.
25 ചന്തയിൽ വിൽപ്പനയ്ക്കുവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഏത് മാംസവും മനസ്സാക്ഷിക്കുത്തുകൂടാതെ ഭക്ഷിക്കാവുന്നതാണ്.
Eat anything sold in the meat market without raising questions of conscience,
26 കാരണം “ഭൂമിയും അതിലുള്ള സകലതും കർത്താവിനുള്ളത്.”
for, “The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof.”
27 ഒരു അവിശ്വാസി നിങ്ങളെ ഭക്ഷണത്തിനു ക്ഷണിക്കുകയും നിങ്ങൾ പോകാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നെങ്കിൽ, നിങ്ങളുടെമുമ്പിൽ വിളമ്പിവെക്കുന്നതെന്തും മനസ്സാക്ഷിക്കുത്തുകൂടാതെ ഭക്ഷിക്കാം.
If an unbeliever invites you to a meal and you want to go, eat anything set before you without raising questions of conscience.
28 എന്നാൽ “ഇത് നൈവേദ്യമാണ്,” എന്ന് ആരെങ്കിലും നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞാൽ, അത് പറഞ്ഞ ആളിനെയും മനസ്സാക്ഷിയെയും കരുതി അതു കഴിക്കരുത്.
But if someone tells you, “This food was offered to idols,” then do not eat it, for the sake of the one who told you and for the sake of conscience—
29 നിങ്ങളുടെ മനസ്സാക്ഷിയല്ല, അയാളുടേതാണു ഞാൻ ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നത്. മറ്റൊരാളിന്റെ മനസ്സാക്ഷിക്ക് അനുസരിച്ച് എന്റെ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം എന്തിന് ഹനിക്കപ്പെടണം?
the other one’s conscience, I mean, not your own. For why should my freedom be determined by someone else’s conscience?
30 കൃതജ്ഞതയോടെയാണ് ഞാൻ ആ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ, ഞാൻ ദൈവത്തിനു സ്തോത്രംചെയ്ത വസ്തു നിമിത്തം എന്നെ കുറ്റപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതെന്തിന്?
If I partake in the meal with thankfulness, why am I denounced because of that for which I give thanks?
31 നിങ്ങൾ ഭക്ഷിച്ചാലും പാനംചെയ്താലും മറ്റെന്തു ചെയ്താലും, അവയെല്ലാം ദൈവമഹത്ത്വത്തിനായി ചെയ്യുക;
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God.
32 യെഹൂദർക്കും ഗ്രീക്കുകാർക്കും ദൈവസഭയ്ക്കും പാപംചെയ്യാൻ കാരണമുണ്ടാക്കരുത്.
Do not become a stumbling block, whether to Jews or Greeks or the church of God—
33 ഞാനും എല്ലാവരെയും എല്ലാവിധത്തിലും പ്രസാദിപ്പിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ. ഞാൻ എന്റെ നന്മയല്ല, അനേകർ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടാൻ സാധ്യമാകേണ്ടതിന് അവരുടെ നന്മയാണ് അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നത്.
as I also try to please everyone in all I do. For I am not seeking my own good, but the good of many, that they may be saved.
