സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 83
1 ആസാഫിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീർത്തനം; ഒരു ഗീതം. ദൈവമേ, മിണ്ടാതെയിരിക്കരുതേ; ദൈവമേ, മൗനമായും സ്വസ്ഥമായും ഇരിക്കരുതേ.
God, do not continue to be silent! Do not be quiet and say nothing,
2 ഇതാ, നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കൾ കലഹിക്കുന്നു; നിന്നെ പകെക്കുന്നവർ തല ഉയർത്തുന്നു.
because your enemies are rioting against you; those who hate you are rebelling against you!
3 അവർ നിന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ നേരെ ഉപായം വിചാരിക്കയും നിന്റെ ഗുപ്തന്മാരുടെ നേരെ ദുരാലോചന കഴിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
They are secretly planning to do things to harm [us], your people; they are (conspiring together against/planning how to defeat) the people whom you protect.
4 വരുവിൻ, യിസ്രായേൽ ഒരു ജാതിയായിരിക്കാതവണ്ണം നാം അവരെ മുടിച്ചുകളക. അവരുടെ പേർ ഇനി ആരും ഓർക്കരുതു എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.
They say, “Come, we must destroy their nation, with the result that no one will remember that Israel ever existed!”
5 അവർ ഇങ്ങനെ ഐകമത്യത്തോടെ ആലോചിച്ചു, നിനക്കു വിരോധമായി സഖ്യത ചെയ്യുന്നു.
They have agreed on [what they want to do to destroy Israel], and they have formed an alliance against you.
6 ഏദോമ്യരുടെയും യിശ്മായേല്യരുടെയും കൂടാരങ്ങളും മോവാബ്യരും ഹഗര്യരും കൂടെ,
[The people who have done that are] the people of Edom [region], the descendants of Ishmael [who live on the east side of the Jordan River], the Moab [people-group], the descendants of Hagar [who also live on the east side of the Jordan River],
7 ഗെബാലും അമ്മോനും അമാലേക്കും, ഫെലിസ്ത്യദേശവും സോർനിവാസികളും;
Gebal [people-group], the Ammon [people-group], the Amalek [people-group], the Philistia [people-group], and the people of Tyre [city].
8 അശ്ശൂരും അവരോടു യോജിച്ചു; അവർ ലോത്തിന്റെ മക്കൾക്കു സഹായമായിരുന്നു (സേലാ)
[The people of] have joined them; they are strong allies of the [Moab and Ammon people-groups, who are] descendants of [Abraham’s nephew] Lot.
9 മിദ്യാന്യരോടു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അവരോടു ചെയ്യേണമേ; കീശോൻതോട്ടിങ്കൽവെച്ചു സീസരയോടും യാബീനോടും ചെയ്തതുപോലെ തന്നേ.
[God], do to those people things like you did to the Midian [people-group], like [you did] to Sisera and Jabin at Kishon River.
10 അവർ എൻദോരിൽവെച്ചു നശിച്ചുപോയി; അവർ നിലത്തിന്നു വളമായി തീർന്നു.
You destroyed them at Endor [town], and their corpses [lay on] the ground and decayed.
11 അവരുടെ കുലീനന്മാരെ ഓരേബ്, സേബ് എന്നവരെപ്പോലെയും അവരുടെ സകലപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെയും സേബഹ്, സല്മൂന്നാ എന്നവരെപ്പോലെയും ആക്കേണമേ.
Do to them things like you did to [Kings] Oreb and Zeeb; defeat their leaders like you defeated Zebah and Zalmunna,
12 നാം ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നിവാസങ്ങളെ നമുക്കു അവകാശമാക്കിക്കൊള്ളുക എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.
who said, “We will take for ourselves the land that [the Israelis say] belongs to God!”
13 എന്റെ ദൈവമേ, അവരെ ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റത്തെ പൊടിപോലെയും കാറ്റത്തു പാറുന്ന പതിർപോലെയും ആക്കേണമേ.
My God, cause them [to disappear quickly] like whirling dust, like chaff that the wind blows away!
14 വനത്തെ ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്ന തീപോലെയും പർവ്വതങ്ങളെ ചുട്ടുകളയുന്ന അഗ്നിജ്വാലപോലെയും
Like a fire completely burns a forest and like flames burn in the mountains,
15 നിന്റെ കൊടുങ്കാറ്റുകൊണ്ടു അവരെ പിന്തുടരേണമേ; നിന്റെ ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റുകൊണ്ടു അവരെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിക്കേണമേ.
expel them by sending storms; cause them to be terrified by your big storms/hurricanes!
16 യഹോവേ, അവർ തിരുനാമത്തെ അന്വേഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ അവരുടെ മുഖത്തെ ലജ്ജാപൂർണ്ണമാക്കേണമേ.
Cause them [SYN] to be very ashamed in order that they will admit that you are very powerful.
17 അവർ എന്നേക്കും ലജ്ജിച്ചു ഭ്രമിക്കയും നാണിച്ചു നശിച്ചുപോകയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ.
Cause them to be forever disgraced [because of being defeated], and cause them to die while they are still disgraced.
18 അങ്ങനെ അവർ യഹോവ എന്നു നാമമുള്ള നീ മാത്രം സർവ്വഭൂമിക്കുംമീതെ അത്യുന്നതൻ എന്നു അറിയും.
Cause them to know that you, whose name is Yahweh, are the supreme ruler over everything on the earth.
